So funny how nearly every time Fire was like "I'm going to do x because I think they won't suspect it", within 5 minutes one of the hunters would go "What if he's doing x? I'm going to x just in case." XD
@@-ZH I still remember one legendary run he basically got 30 minutes because they misread him so badly, and he was able to sneak an early Watcher Knights+Descending Dark without them realizing. So he's happy if he gets those 5 minutes, but he'd much rather they get it exactly wrong.

Maybe a fun but a tad bit unpractical idea... what if you made it a true ending speedrun...but not tell the hunters that it is one? They will surely be confused af while you gather everything for true ending...and maybe white palace with hunters will pose a new challenge? (knowing how good you are probably not) Who knows?

This was the most organized and knowledgeable group of hunters you've had on this series yet. They knew so much and predicted quite a lot of your decisions lol, was a great watch 10/10.
I know I was so impressed when that one hunter was like "he's down to one HP and he used all his soul on fireballs, he can only get soul from the one totem in this room, but that will only heal two masks"
Got to say I love the addition of adding the occasional Hunter POVs. I think previously the hunters had RUclips videos of their POVs maybe that's why you didn't show them here, but it adds a lot. Great video!
Skribe (person with spore shroom power?) missing Fire in the big City Storerooms simple key room fully took me out, it was so close, I barely saw them on the edge of Fire's screen so the Hunter POV was perfect there

Loved the new superpowers on the hunters. But i think stinkbomber is kinda weak because 10 seconds is way too long to do almost anything, i only saw it being used succesfully once in that run, maybe 5 second heal would be better (but giving then that soul binding to avoid spamming this power). Also 48:44 i did not know that room existed.
@@fireb0rn I'd swap stinkbomber with a glass cannon superpower, like someone that deals more mask dmg with nail/spells but cannot heal, if they die, they lose their abilities and need to go back to where they died and collect their soul. If that is possible that is.

as an early fan of speedrun v hunter, i'd kind of fallen off watching the last several, they just weren't hitting the same anymore. But this one was SO good!! Absolutely rivalling the early gems of this series, with the cunning plots, the close shaves, the strategic power use, and the maneuvering. Absolutely phenomenal, I was entranced all the way through!! I particularly appreciated the dramatic music and the little hunter-pov windows at key moments. All the superpowers felt very clever and well balanced (except the stinkbomb which needed a shorter cooldown). But the fragile eye in the sky, the slow death teleporter, the combat master and the blocker was such a cool combo to see ppl strategize. And it felt really even in terms of strategy, like you've hit the perfect sweet spot between enough freedom for the run to route creatively (the mantis lords route and the reroutes on the fly were all phenomenal), while also giving the hunters enough information for an engaging chase. Likewise, the combat felt pretty balanced given how many times you got to one hp!! Super super dramatic, an awesome watch. Though, have you considered having the hunters not show up on the map, so lifelines are easier to use?
being an early fan, do you know if fire can hear the opposition at all? i keep seeing these and sometimes it sounds like he can, but sometimes it sounds like he cant, and theres nowhere to ask so yk
@@dragonslayerps4134 No, he can't. Sometimes there's just some really funny coincidences due to one side correctly reading the movement so of the other.
I really appreciate the extra camera views from everyone playing this round! Made their strategising easier to understand and the tension from you getting closer and closer to them was very fun to watch!
In my opinion, The spammer was the scariest out of all of them. Every fight with him seemed like life or death. Maybe it should get a different weakness? The teleporter didn’t seem too useful, he wasn’t really able to get to you any faster but maybe he just got unlucky or played bad. Really cool video! Would love to see more of these.
It's kinda weird being someone who has been a hunter many times, idk who to go for when im watching haha. the hunters are basically my team even if I wasnt playing in this one, but as a viewer I want fire to win! I guess all I really want is a good, close match, and this one was really great to watch! GGs to everyone
Full speed no clip is definitely OP. They can just pop in from being invisible in a wall and smack you before you can react. If you could see him through the walls then it wouldn't be as bad, but I don't know if that would be possible to mod in easily.
I think the idea with their debuff being 1 hit = random teleport is to incentivize them being a spy or lookout over anything else, if you make it possible to see that player through walls then that's useless or at least makes them much less effective. Phia was able to give a lot of info and is 100% the reason this run was so close.

This was incredibly tense all the way through. And the editing was top notch! The hunters did a really good job this round. I’m still waiting for the day that Fire goes for Godhome ending.
this one was amazing, so many close calls, the crystal heart duel and escape was a nailbiter! keep em coming :) one small thing I think would be a great addition would be indicating the hunter skin next to the discord tag to make it easier to follow who is who!
Such fun, intense round of SvH! Especially happy to see you do Mantis Lords as a diversion tactic, didn’t think you were ever gonna do it honestly! Was also happy to see you equip longnail+mark of pride for the final fight. I know it’s impractical, but I love them together
fantastic episode, a lot of close calls. But I am sad, I feel the hunters didn't get to utilize Nuclear Shroom very much, if at all. Honestly, Skribe being at choke points was a great move, but never should have been without a buddy that could communicate if and when Fire gets to the point. Would have stopped a lot of rush's to spots, like Crystal Heart. Or at least make it harder. Overall, fantastic episode, these hunters were incredibly intuitive. Love to see it.

I gotta say, showing the losses really sells that this is a competition, other hunter challenge runners only post victories so it feels like they stage it, but seeing the losses here makes it feel all the more genuine that you've earned this win.
I love the new hunter cams! It makes everything a lot more tense actually seeing them all roam the same area as fire is, even if they aren't finding him. And when they do we get a better context to the encounter. Also 42:46 couldn't help but notice the nail slashes being perfectly in time to the music, that was neat lmao
bro watching this had me feeling so PISSED when fire would scheme this elaborate plot to sneak to crystal heart, then get caught and have his location CONSTANTLY CALLED OUT! also the false 1hp callouts were hilarious and your gameplay just made me feel horrendous about my own skill lol
Still think they need something like a boss hit-list mode. Having to route a way to fight Hive Knight or Hornet 2 would be a great way to spice things up.
@@levifoster5639 1st idea) while its possible to do this via rigging a randomizer seed, it would require more setup for each round then the current system. While this would have little impact on our side of things as viewers, the creator side of things would be much more involved instead, meaning they can do less rounds in a session. 2nd idea) remember how after fire gets dash and claw how the map opens up for him, and hunters have to spread out to find and then converge on him? After aquiring grimmchild he goes from possibly being at 1 location for progress, to being at 4. And if they miss him at one of those and dont realize it, it becomes 7, and if it happens again, it becomes 10 and then hes done. While grimmchilds appearance can give away what stage he is at, i can think of several ways to hide it, such as only equipping it at the closest bench to the flame. Plus when you factor in that grimmchild might also be attacking the hunters, it sounds like a run where the hardest part for the runner would be the grimm fights, while it would be hell for the hunter team
This vids are becoming so refined! This was awesome. Genuinely thought you were gonna die so many times but you made it. The hunters were so good! Lots of funny moments too. The no clip was super funny being the all seeing eye. But yeah maybe next time they can speed up after you get dash. And maybe the stink bomb can take less time to heal, they didn't get to do much. Beheaded's multiswing was so funny. Rip the No Clip leaving for like 1 min to use the bathroom and you immediately finding them. I think you should really consider doing a True End run! I know everyone has been begging for it, but it just seems so fun. Since you'd have so many more options of where to do, and the Hunters would have to keep track of what you've done to cross it off.
It was cool to see you changing the route to locations not much seen in previous episodes to get lost from hunters. The game was intense and fresh to watch. Gg
I just recently found your channel and I'm surprised I watched a 53 min youtube video of hollow knight. Was super entertaining, I do feel that the stink bomb superpower was pretty useless though, but being able to attack every single frame was OP enough that the whole video was entertaining.
dude your music choice and cues with what's happening in the actual game is crazy. Particularly love the MGS1 ost around Greenpath early in the run and FURI ost leading up to Hollow Knight. Such cool editing, really adds a lot to the watching experience!
The music really added to the excitement of the chase❤ Also the idea of each hunter having unique super powers is so genius. We got a party of a ninja🥷, a bomb mage🧨, a spiritualist🕯️ and a ghost👻 constantly hunt down the knight throughout the hollow nest. it’s much more exciting than just Hollow knight chase.😊
The SUSPENCE was amazing the whole way through. I feel like this was really balanced. Always feel the best watching these knowing the work put into it. Also as cool as it sounds, I dont think a SVH rando would work out (prove me wrong ;)

keep getting recommended your old videos (eg: the "Hollow Knight but if I take damage, I get teleported to a random room" stream) and i cant stop watching them!
This is a nice dynamic shift on just the standard "1v4" format. That said I'd like to see some changes made to the powers since it didn't really seem like the players were able to make full use of them. "No-Clipper" is definitely going to be difficult to balance making them too slow makes it too easy for you to escape, but making them too faster makes it impossible for you to escape. Maybe increasing their speed but imposing a rule that they have to be the last one to "start" so you have time to collect some upgrades could fix that? "Spammer" is definitely the most appealing from a viewers pov. I am not really understanding how you ever hit them if they are attacking every single frame since they would just basically create a forcefield in front of them no? "Teleporter" seems pretty balance. Not really much to say here. "Stink Bomber" is definitely the least appealing in its current form and encourages an extremely passive playstyle from the hunter. I'd love to see them gain an on-death effect that still triggers the bomb to encourage them to just throw themselves at you as often as possible with no real regard for safety, maybe even intentionally damaging themselves?
half speed no clip being to weak is such a hot take, when u are the only one to consistently harrass fire with your power, the random teleport for map coverage and the ability to stalk and give the others intel while being extremely hard to hit is already so strong. meanwhile the 10s heal ... XD anyway, great video, was a lot of fun to watch, also loved finallly seeing mark of pride long nail combo ! ^^
She's really good at PVP, so I trust her on it. I think maybe like, if you gave it to HuntHussle it might still be really strong. But there's a lot of hazards (spikes, thorns, acid) that stretch into the ground and stuff that make navigation with noclip super hard.
Oh lord, I accidentally moused over and saw how little time was left in the video when you were finishing up Watcher Knights, and thought to myself "no way he wins this". I never should have doubted!
Man this was a really close one! The hunters did a really good job tracking you - it seemed even when you gave them the slip they had a shrewd idea where you were and just got the timing wrong. Very tense!
Yeah! We usually edit it out, but gates being improperly closed happens a lot in these types of HKMP games. So players have a mod that lets them walk through, but you're not supposed to unless the gates are closed when they shouldn't be.
One of my favorite HvS videos so far! I felt like this was incredibly balanced, where I truly felt both teams had a good chance! There were lots of moments that were incredibly tense!
Wow! That was an amazing match! Hunters got Fire down to 1 mask a few times, and they were super on-point with knowing where FIre is! I think the only "mistake" the hunters made was not pressuring Fire more at Lurien. Letting Fire getting off that Dnail was key. (though understandable that it happened. Tense situation, high speed thought needed, etc). Everyone played really well! GG to all!
This was awesome to watch! Just a few suggestions though, you should make no-clip speed 75%, and the stink-bomb time should be WAY less than 10 seconds. At that point, it just makes it useless, especially in a game like this. I’d suggest 5-8 seconds, or you could keep the time the same, but make it do double damage or something.
This was an interesting idea, and maybe you can add to it by introducing optional objectives for hunters to complete to become stronger/obtain more superpowers as a sort of pseudo timer, because in the current state, the speedrunner can run around becoming stronger indefinitely.
idea for a new manhunt: a spy essentially it's just the noclip except instead of being teleported, they just can't deal damage this would probably mean less camping as it would be way easier to find the speedrunner it would also probably create interesting strategies for the speedrunner to get the spy off their trail
I think noclip being that slow is actually good. Maybe not on that particular hunter cause it forced a more passive role but the general idea of a fast observer that is able to just watch you like a flying eye if you are not careful enough and get rid of them often I think is a underrated thread. They were able to scout you out so many times and I think that ability was extremly valuable.
Imagine speed runner vs hunters with superpowers, but instead of the huge downsides you have your own lifelines where you can listen in on their comms without them knowing

I've literally been rewatching all of the previous speedrunner v hunter videos. I'm so excited to watch a new one!
I love the new hunter cams! It makes everything a lot more tense actually seeing them all roam the same area as fire is, even if they aren't finding him. And when they do we get a better context to the encounter.
Also 42:46 couldn't help but notice the nail slashes being perfectly in time to the music, that was neat lmao

Still think they need something like a boss hit-list mode. Having to route a way to fight Hive Knight or Hornet 2 would be a great way to spice things up.
Maybe have a number gen pick out a list of 6 bosses that he has to kill before the hunters kill him maybe?

1st idea) while its possible to do this via rigging a randomizer seed, it would require more setup for each round then the current system. While this would have little impact on our side of things as viewers, the creator side of things would be much more involved instead, meaning they can do less rounds in a session.
2nd idea) remember how after fire gets dash and claw how the map opens up for him, and hunters have to spread out to find and then converge on him? After aquiring grimmchild he goes from possibly being at 1 location for progress, to being at 4. And if they miss him at one of those and dont realize it, it becomes 7, and if it happens again, it becomes 10 and then hes done. While grimmchilds appearance can give away what stage he is at, i can think of several ways to hide it, such as only equipping it at the closest bench to the flame. Plus when you factor in that grimmchild might also be attacking the hunters, it sounds like a run where the hardest part for the runner would be the grimm fights, while it would be hell for the hunter team
That was such a good video. I loved the addition of the hunter's POV--it made it a lot more tense if they were close by/lurking ahead.
This vids are becoming so refined! This was awesome. Genuinely thought you were gonna die so many times but you made it. The hunters were so good! Lots of funny moments too. The no clip was super funny being the all seeing eye. But yeah maybe next time they can speed up after you get dash. And maybe the stink bomb can take less time to heal, they didn't get to do much. Beheaded's multiswing was so funny. Rip the No Clip leaving for like 1 min to use the bathroom and you immediately finding them. I think you should really consider doing a True End run! I know everyone has been begging for it, but it just seems so fun. Since you'd have so many more options of where to do, and the Hunters would have to keep track of what you've done to cross it off.
It was cool to see you changing the route to locations not much seen in previous episodes to get lost from hunters.
The game was intense and fresh to watch. Gg
I just recently found your channel and I'm surprised I watched a 53 min youtube video of hollow knight. Was super entertaining, I do feel that the stink bomb superpower was pretty useless though, but being able to attack every single frame was OP enough that the whole video was entertaining.

dude your music choice and cues with what's happening in the actual game is crazy. Particularly love the MGS1 ost around Greenpath early in the run and FURI ost leading up to Hollow Knight. Such cool editing, really adds a lot to the watching experience!
Really liked the editing with the different hunter pov’s it lets you better understand who is who and makes some moments more exciting
The music really added to the excitement of the chase❤ Also the idea of each hunter having unique super powers is so genius. We got a party of a ninja🥷, a bomb mage🧨, a spiritualist🕯️ and a ghost👻 constantly hunt down the knight throughout the hollow nest. it’s much more exciting than just Hollow knight chase.😊
Man, it went down to the wire so many times! When fire got to 1HP against the HK, I was at the edge of my seat. What an amazing clutch victory.

The SUSPENCE was amazing the whole way through. I feel like this was really balanced. Always feel the best watching these knowing the work put into it.

This is a nice dynamic shift on just the standard "1v4" format. That said I'd like to see some changes made to the powers since it didn't really seem like the players were able to make full use of them.
"No-Clipper" is definitely going to be difficult to balance making them too slow makes it too easy for you to escape, but making them too faster makes it impossible for you to escape. Maybe increasing their speed but imposing a rule that they have to be the last one to "start" so you have time to collect some upgrades could fix that?
"Spammer" is definitely the most appealing from a viewers pov. I am not really understanding how you ever hit them if they are attacking every single frame since they would just basically create a forcefield in front of them no?
"Teleporter" seems pretty balance. Not really much to say here.
"Stink Bomber" is definitely the least appealing in its current form and encourages an extremely passive playstyle from the hunter. I'd love to see them gain an on-death effect that still triggers the bomb to encourage them to just throw themselves at you as often as possible with no real regard for safety, maybe even intentionally damaging themselves?

Why is Fire so just goddamn good lmao, the fight against hollowknight was ACTUALLY INSANE. lmao and all the parries at 1 hp were actually so clutch.
half speed no clip being to weak is such a hot take, when u are the only one to consistently harrass fire with your power, the random teleport for map coverage and the ability to stalk and give the others intel while being extremely hard to hit is already so strong. meanwhile the 10s heal ... XD anyway, great video, was a lot of fun to watch, also loved finallly seeing mark of pride long nail combo ! ^^
She's really good at PVP, so I trust her on it. I think maybe like, if you gave it to HuntHussle it might still be really strong. But there's a lot of hazards (spikes, thorns, acid) that stretch into the ground and stuff that make navigation with noclip super hard.
I definitely get how it'd be frustrating for combat, but I'd agree that the ability to track the speedrunner more than makes up for that
Oh lord, I accidentally moused over and saw how little time was left in the video when you were finishing up Watcher Knights, and thought to myself "no way he wins this". I never should have doubted!
Man this was a really close one! The hunters did a really good job tracking you - it seemed even when you gave them the slip they had a shrewd idea where you were and just got the timing wrong. Very tense!

I noticed at 44:40 that you just clipped through the gate at watchers
Yeah! We usually edit it out, but gates being improperly closed happens a lot in these types of HKMP games. So players have a mod that lets them walk through, but you're not supposed to unless the gates are closed when they shouldn't be.

One of my favorite HvS videos so far! I felt like this was incredibly balanced, where I truly felt both teams had a good chance! There were lots of moments that were incredibly tense!
Wow! That was an amazing match! Hunters got Fire down to 1 mask a few times, and they were super on-point with knowing where FIre is!
I think the only "mistake" the hunters made was not pressuring Fire more at Lurien. Letting Fire getting off that Dnail was key. (though understandable that it happened. Tense situation, high speed thought needed, etc). Everyone played really well! GG to all!

Just a few suggestions though, you should make no-clip speed 75%, and the stink-bomb time should be WAY less than 10 seconds. At that point, it just makes it useless, especially in a game like this. I’d suggest 5-8 seconds, or you could keep the time the same, but make it do double damage or something.

This was an interesting idea, and maybe you can add to it by introducing optional objectives for hunters to complete to become stronger/obtain more superpowers as a sort of pseudo timer, because in the current state, the speedrunner can run around becoming stronger indefinitely.
There are pickup limits.
To be fair tho the hunters also have said upgrades and abilities that the speedrunner(fireborn) gets
idea for a new manhunt: a spy
essentially it's just the noclip except instead of being teleported, they just can't deal damage
this would probably mean less camping as it would be way easier to find the speedrunner
it would also probably create interesting strategies for the speedrunner to get the spy off their trail
The super powered hunters twist is such a fun twist on these. I can't imagine how hard making the mods for this to work must be

I think noclip being that slow is actually good. Maybe not on that particular hunter cause it forced a more passive role but the general idea of a fast observer that is able to just watch you like a flying eye if you are not careful enough and get rid of them often I think is a underrated thread. They were able to scout you out so many times and I think that ability was extremly valuable.
