Pasty boy you do an awesome job editing what a great video best I've seen this year you got some high-dollar sleds to ride with and seems like good guys
I appreciate that! Thanks Chuck! These guys were great and very generous the whole week. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Great video. Very entertaining
Thanks you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Vey Nice..cu at the Snowflyers meeting
Thanks. See ya then.
Awesome job? Great trails you're never gonna wanna ride in new york again🤑👍🏼
Why the question mark after "Awesome job"? Do you not like the 360 camera?
It's going to be hard to ride Tug Hill tomorrow after riding those Maine trails for a week! It's even worse that the trails are going to be good to mediocre at Tug Hill. I guess I have to get back to reality.
Thanks for watching Alan.
I use the microphone when I text It messes up sometimes. Great video it's always keeping coming
@@alancall5113
Thanks Alan!
Next time message me I have a cabin for you and the boys right off the trail here in Aroostook county in Washburn right next to the Trail runners club! We have to run it been watching you from the begginin when you had your first sled! You've come a long way bud!
Thanks Joseph! We're talking about going up sometime next season so I will keep you in mind.
Thanks for being such a long time viewer!
You mentioned that you guys drove through Quebec on the way. Maybe next year you could try snowmobiling in Northern Quebec? Gotta be the best trails in the world, honestly. They are constantly grooming because the Quebec government funds it as part of their tourism promotion efforts. Trails are tabletop smooth, like superhighways, but without the traffic. And accommodations and restaurants along the way. Give 'er a shot!
I do travel to Canada for other things and I have family there but I don't want to deal with all of the expense and things to go riding.
Maine was absolutely amazing and it has a lot of those qualities.
I’m looking for riders in Quebec.
👍 Good luck.
How were snowmobile conditions down in Maine? The eastern seaboard has had a soft winter. Short season & low snow most of this winter. Quebec City area should be a little better. Pretty much had to get north of the 49th parallel for the 4-5 month snowmobile season.
Trails were absolutely amazing in Maine. Can't wait to go back. Thanks for watching Greg.
Wow what incredible views. Way to switch it up with the new gear. Another great vid. Damn those guys get on the gas huh. :)
Thanks R. Dobbs. Yeah, these guys can ride. Had a blast and hope to go back next season with the crew!
Great set of videos from Maine! Where was this house located in Wallagrass? I'm looking to rent a place this year and would like to look into this one...thanks !
Thanks Doug. I still have the final day there that I need to finish editing up upload.
To be honest I don't know. I wasn't the one that set it all up.
Awesome, BRAVO BRAVO 👏!
Glad you liked it! Thanks Jason!
Love listening to all the raw chatter
Glad you like it desert cat.
Welcome to Maine hope you get a chance to come back.
Quick question, how do you compare the 900 turbo to your 850? Which do you prefer?
Thanks Shadynooker.
I haven't ridden a 900 turbo R so I can't directly have an opinion but I can tell you what I do know. The 850 actually gets better gas mileage. It's going to depend on if you want to deal with the 2 stroke oil and the smell of it. I was offered the opportunity to ride Brad's Mach Z 900 Turbo R but said I would try it later but never did. I do like the features that 900 Turbo R has and would honestly consider one if it had a power steering option.
Are you coming back this year with Gary and Zuke?
We're going to try. It really could come down to how good or bad out local riding season ends up being.
What kind of communicators are you using with the group?
We use the Chatterbox x2 slim-p communicators.
What do you use for communication? the push to talk button is very neat
It is the Chatterbox X2 slim-p. With a push to talk button.
I have a couple videos installing them on helmets if you want to check them out.
@@Paisteboy awesome thank you! I’ll definitely go give it a watch after your new video.
Cool. 👍
Oh boy , this is going to be interesting.
Yes it is! I was great to meet and ride with you.
looks just like the U.P. in Michigan enjoy the powder hope you can do some off trail riding to.
Cool. Unfortunately we had to stay on trail. I wasn't complaining because these trails were amazing!
Thanks for watching and commenting James.
I love your camera and voiceover work. Excellent stuff. I'm a native Mainer and just finally got the chance to ride the county a couple weeks ago, and it was the most amazing riding I've ever seen. Question: just wondering what your fuel consumption was with the 850 vs the 4 strokes. Of the 4 of us, 3 were 850's and one was a 2022 900 Turbo R. The Turbo R consistently burned 5 gallons for every 4 gallons with the 850's, and the guy ran it in eco mode. Curious as to what you found?
Thanks Jason. I've found pretty much the same thing. I got better gas mileage than the 900 turbo R's. I get between 14 and 16 mpg.
@@Paisteboy thanks for the response! Happy trails
👍
nice trails Maine is on my bucket list
Yes. Maine has amazing trails! That's a great place to put on your bucket list.
I love Maine You should always have enough snow to ride up that way. Too bad its such a hike. How do the trails compare to NY? . How do you know the guys you are riding with?
The trails in Maine are better on many levels than here in NY. The Maine trails are longer, wider flatter and faster.
As far as the guys that I'm riding with, I only knew Greg and Rich prior to this trip. I met the other six guys the day before the first ride. I met Greg and Rich through RUclips but have met them in person before this trip. Greg is actually in my season opener video. It was me, Greg and Dennis back on December 26th and 27th.
Born and raised in Maine, I miss it so much. Especially the sledding!
That is the best trail system that I've ever ridden. Possibly the best in the country. Thanks for watching.
I like the camera angle you have on your sled
Thanks Mark
Excellent job editing the first day buddy 👍🏼 Gotta love those Maine Trails.. It was an amazing week for sure.. Can’t wait for part 2
Thanks buddy! Thanks for making this all possible for me!
@@Paisteboy For sure Paiste. I’m glad you were able to go and experience these amazing trails with us.👍🏼
@@Paisteboy and @SometimeIsNow come back again and I'll lead you around.
@@donaldyoung6396
Thanks!
Welcome to our neck of the woods, only ever ridden Maine and don’t intend to ride else-wear! My 22 backcountry already has 4500 miles on it
Thanks Jake.
The trails are so good there.
That's a really good amount of miles for a 22.
Thanks for the comment and for watching.
When you were riding up there, was there any stops on the trail to stop and eat and fuel up? Did you see lots of other sleds on the trail like here in NY or is it remote? Thanks
We stopped and fueled up every chance that we got. You will see that in upcoming videos. We started everyday with a small breakfast at the house, then we just had snacks on the trail and a proper meal at a restaurant or at the house later in the day. No sandwiches or stuff like that on the trail. We did have to share gas caddy fuel on one day to make it back to a gas station on a longer trip.
There was less traffic than I expected but still a fair amount of sleds out there.
Thanks for the comment steve.
Hey man…just subscribed. Curious…what intercom system are you using. Have seen a push button on the bar system yet. Great vid!
Thanks for the sub! We use the Chatterbox X2 slim-p communicators. It has a range of miles because it's a Radio like a walkie talkie no bluetooth. It has bluetooth as well but that is only used for phone calls and to listen to music. This system comes with a wireless push to talk button. You can use voice activation as well but the noise of the sled sets it off so we use the button instead.
We’ll be back in Fort Kent Sunday riding !! Worth the 11 hour ride.
Yes it is! Have fun and ride safe.
It should be good he does a good job!
Thanks Scott!
What are you using for communication, and what is the range? Great video. The County is the only place that rivals Quebec that I have seen. Hope you had a chance to have supper at the Swamp Buck in Fort Kent.
Our Canadian friend was pretty much saying the same thing.
I use the Chatterbox X2 slim-p because it's a radio like a walkie-talkie and doesn't loose connection with other riders when you loose sight of them. It also has a push to talk button so loud noises won't activate the comm. The range is 2 to 5 miles and still has all of the features of the Bluetooth comms like music, phone calls etc.
Check my Amazon page linked below in any of my videos to check it out.
We never ended up eating there.
@@Paisteboy Cool, thanks very much for the reply! I hope you are able to come back to Maine. Be sure to hit the Swamp Buck. 😉👍🏅
I plan on going again next season so I will try to remember that.
Thanks for watching.
You always said you would do it one day! Congrats and thanks for going all the way North!! Day 1 was epic and can't wait for the rest
Thanks so much!! More to come soon.
@@Paisteboy I recognized all of the trails you rode Day 1. I am in Central ME but we do weeks up north every season.
Nice! That is an amazing trail system you've got there! Can't wait to go back sometime.
When I go ride thats where I ride. out of cross lake Go to Martins for breakfast in Sinclair going towards St Agatha
Nice! We went to St Agatha.
Always Flat and Fast!!
That's what I saw for sure!
Nice to see you get out of your comfort zone. Just got back to WNY from Maine. Great trail system
Nice!
Yes. Definitely the best trails I've ever ridden! I guess people from Maine are spoiled. lol.
I'm hoping to go back next season with my regular crew.
Thanks for watching Frank.
Is there ever an issue with snowmobilers going on private property?
I have no idea about a problem with people going off trail in Maine since this was my first trip there. We stayed on trail at all times and I didn't really notice any sled tracks that looked like people were going off trail where we were riding. Thanks for watching.
Don't want to sound impatient but I thought there would be another video by now.???
Sorry. I was planning on it for Tuesday but I've been really busy and haven't quite finished it yet. I'm hoping to get it done by the weekend. Thanks for inquiring and I appreciate you watching Bryson.
Oh good I was worried something went wrong up there. Just got back from old forge rode throughout the epic snowstorm on Tuesday. But had to leave Wednesday morning. Ordered a new 4 place blizzard trailer while I was there. And a 2014 arctic cat zr 7000 four stroke from big moose yamaha..
Nice! Blizzard makes some nice trailers. How were the trails up there?
Trails were great roads were sketchy
@@brysonglegg8019
At least the trails were great.
It’s Awesome that you got to venture out to a whole new experience in Maine!! Bet you loved it!!👍
Definitely!! It was overdue and I'm so glad that I went. I had a blast!
Did you get to try "Plois"
I don't think so? What is that?
@Paisteboy It's a Canadian thing, it's a very thin pan fried buckwheat pancake you smear it with honey butter or Vitter and jelly roll it up and eat it that way, most of the restaurants up in the "County" serve them lol
Ok. No, didn't have that. Sounds pretty good though.
@Paisteboy I could eat a 5 gallon bucket full of those lol
👍
So pissed I passed up on an invitation to go up there a few weeks ago. Will have to enjoy it through your videos!!!! Love all the chattering among others and your self during the ride !!! Enjoy stay safe and will see y'all on the next one !!
That's too bad that you passed that opportunity up. You would have had a blast! Thanks for watching and commenting Joe.
How do U guys like riding Maine
We loved it! Best trails I've ever ridden in my life!
I just rode up there it was amazing, only my second time snowmobiling it was epic! We did 450 mi in 2-1/2 days. Went to the trains from island falls. Absolutely amazing experience.
Nice! You can't ask for more than that.
Looks good try saddlebag in sometime
I'm not sure what to think about saddle bagging at this point. I'm more of a day rider. Thanks for watching javen.
I'M so disappointed I have a house in Eagle Lake. I would of shown you guys around. Would of loved to ride with you and some time.
Fortunately Jim and Greg had been there before and had a pretty good handle on navigating the trails. Thanks for the offer though.
Thanks for watching Don.
Looks like an amazing start to your trip! Love the ride chatter. What are the 360 camera details?
Thanks. It was a great first day.
It's an insta360 x3 camera.
Love riding Maine. Spend a week ea yr if possible in the Moosehead Lake region. Beautiful country. worth the drive from Ontario
I agree. The trail system was amazing and worth the drive like you said. If one can afford it and can get the time off to make the trip I would recommend it.
Thanks for watching.
Do you not ever signal how many people are behind you in your group?
I do sometimes but in New York State in 2020 the NYSSA said that they don't recommend hand signals anymore. Not sure about the recommendations in Maine. If it is safe to signal I do, depending on speed, conditions and a turn. From the perspective of the 360 camera in this video you would not be able to see if I'm signalling or not. Do you signal?
@@Paisteboy I signal all the time no matter what. It shows the person there is still more up ahead to watch for.
Ok. I see your point. I just don't find it always safe to take my hands off the bars. Bumps and my current speed are factors I think about before signalling. Thanks for watching Brody.
@@Paisteboy 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice video! I have never ridden in Maine, looks great. Did you have to register your sled or get a permit to ride there?
Thanks Jeffrey!
Yes I did. Just a Maine Registration. The 10 day was 100 bucks and the whole season is 120 bucks. Did it online and had it before we left for the trip.
@@Paisteboy ...we just returned from Presque Isle....I think the 10 day permit is a bargain....
@@throwingsparks Yes. Well worth it!
Are there trail permits up there? And do you have to register in maine?
No trail permit required but we did have to register our sleds in Maine to ride there. It's 100 bucks for a 10 day or 120 for the season.
