In today’s video I take a pair of free snowmobiles I got and fix them up. After getting hit with a huge snow storm we take them out for their first rip! For old greasy sleds that are a ball!

Smashing the trailer lights was just a joke everyone, they had been broken for weeks… Replaced them after this vid.

Thats awesome. Reminds me of the sled my brother gave me. He said if I got it running I could have it. Cleaned the carb, new plug, new right front ski and it ran great. The sleds had me rolling. We destroyed every toboggan in the neighborhood inside a week. Then we went to saucers. Those were a riot. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Great find.

Get that old.gas out before you blow the engine up...its 7 yrs old. Gas seperates and takes on water after 90 days

awesome video…. but what sets the big mechanic utubers apart from the small ones… you gotta show more of the small stuff like installing each part and more detail and the full install… trust me people love that 100x more then a montage or sped up part.. but awesome video this was genuinely really entertaining ❤❤
This is cool man I'm excited to watch this video. I actually just managed to inherit my dad's old snowmobiles that haven't been running for about the same amount of time. I have 1995 z440 and a 97 ZR 580. I just started working on it

You fell into a nice deal there. I collect old sleds and out here Fan Zs like that would fetch a grand each. The nice thing is these old Fan Zs use the classic ZR Cat chassis that they made for a decade. Parts are still out there if you dig on the web and usually not high priced. The 370 was a kids sled so it’s about 37hp, give or take. The 440 varies from 41 to about 50 depending on the year, carb set up, and model it’s in. I think the 370 was clutched and geared pretty tame. Hey it’s 20 years ago. 😎. Great beginner sleds and like Lego blocks you can look for more stuff to bolt on for mods. Enjoy.
I wish people would give away broken/non-running sleds here, where I live people still sell non running sleds for like 600-2000$ CAD. Ran when parked just needs new plugs or carb cleaned etc. lol. No your trying to sell a piece of garbage. Trying to dump your problem on someone else hahahaha.

If you don't have rollers wit you. Grab both ski loops and pick up at once so the carbides don't dig into the ground. it will be easier to move around that way.

You shouldn't worry about it smoking a bit, in fact it's good for it to smoke, I own 3 old snowmobiles, all of which are 500 2-strokes, and they all smoke a lot, which is good. But yeah, no need to worry, especially if it's old like mine, which are 2 1976's and 1 1979

That's awesome man I got three snowmobiles for free from my friend but they sat outside for 6 years through snow rain and so they're in really bad condition well two of them are I got one of them running already that's cool man when you move to Colorado are you bringing them with you

Kicking the tail lights out reminds me of a guy that lost a speeding ticket case that walked out of court and then smashed his state of the art radar detector (this was late 70’s) on the sidewalk as the issuing trooper was walking by. Trooper then informed him that he clocked him with a stopwatch!

Want to see you recover the seats. The one that lost shine try swirl mark remover by hand. Then wax it by hand. Power tools can leave swirl/dull finish sometimes.

If you don’t pull those carbs down completely including pulling needles and seats I foresee a wrist pin bearing inspection port in the piston soon.
I would ALWAYS clean the carbs. One gunked up jet can burn a piston down just because it runs doesn’t mean it’s ready to rip just my 2 cents

It would be a grand idea to check all the bearings and slides in the track/suspension system before you burn grooves in your track. 7 years sitting means likely seized bearings

Light cutting buffing compound would have taken that spray paint off very easily and shined up the paint and windshield.

Never owned a snowmobile before but he's going to get these 2 running. Trailer tail light doesn't work then proceeds to kick and smash it only to find out why it doesn't work AFTER. Yah. I have my doubts. I decided then not to waste my time watching the rest of this video 🙄
