    230 mi so far for the season. Looks like we'll be riding the couch for the next two weeks, until the snow catches up. What a heartbreaker of a season already...

      At least you got out there. Did you ride OF? We went up a total of 4 days that week. This season could be as bad as 2015-2016 season. We'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for watching Craig.

      We did end up riding Old Forge. Conditions were actually great. Went from enchanted Forest all the way out to cedar River flow on Moose River Plains, then back to enchanted Forest, and all the way out to the brantingham connector, and Stillwater reservoir then back down the trail one.

      Nice! It's been better but it's rideable at least. Moose River Plains was the best of it for us.

      I watch all of your vids. I couldn't ride this year due to a new hip replacement on Jan 11. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a new 2025 skidoo 850 XRS I had the 2022 XRS 850 and absolutely LOVED it. I hear the release date is the 20th. Ben,I rode for over 40-years. I live in Ohio and we haven’t had rideable snow here in years! So we ride in Michigan,so you need a truck,trailer and a 20k sled plus gas prices through the roof!! Ya Snowmobiling priced me right out of the sport I love!! Sad times for sure!!

      It is expensive and I got out of it in January of 1998 to raise my kids and didn't get back in until 2010 but it keeps getting more expensive every year. Thanks for watching.

      I remember when I was a kid we would just fuel them up ride around all day. No Trucks, trailers and local snow. The good old days. Traveling is nice to change the scenery but now it almost the only way to make it worth owning a sled.

      @@Paisteboy Ya I’m 57 and have 3-girls! I honestly thought I would ride forever!! Our group had about 15 Guys that rode together every year. But with life changes the group got smaller over the years & that makes the costs go up. In 2021 I decided that was it since our group was down to me and my Neighbor. I miss it very much but guys like you keep me still loving it!! Thanks!!👍👍

    We were up on Tug that weekend and conditions were pretty good except for the water holes. Took me 2 days the chisel all of the ice off the sleds. We were in Old Forge that Saturday and there was barely enough snow to ride. On Sunday the 14th is when I had the caliper lock up on my GSX 600 and caught fire. Luckily I got it out and was able to fix it trailside. I wish they would get some more snow up there because I want to ride!!

    We were there the same day as you guys and stayed at Steve’s as well. Did 275 miles that day , not bad for the conditions. Did you see the gas options at fast trac? Non ethanol/ 90 octane for over $5/gallon and 93 octane/ ethanol for about a buck less. Which did you pick? We went with 93 / ethanol because it more closely matches brp recommendations.

    • @Paisteboy
      @Paisteboy  8 месяцев назад

      Not sure if you did but you should have said hello if you saw us. We always use the 90 octane non ethanol if it's available. We only use the 93 if non ethanol isn't available which is wasn't on Sunday the 21st. We don't ethanol in our tanks unless we know that we are going to burn all of that gas in the same day. We went back Friday and Saturday too. Thanks for watching.

    • @edileo2112
      @edileo2112 8 месяцев назад

      We did not see you guys, if we did, we would have talked with you. I don’t believe you are correct in thinking that ethanol gas is bad for the sled. It clearly says “91 octane, 10% max ethanol” on the gas cap. 90 octane is not 91. I believe sleds are built to more automotive quality today and that the ethanol will have no negative effect. Storing it over the off season months with ethanol may be a different animal altogether. I’m no expert, and I’d like to hear from a manufacturer’s engineer on the truth to this topic. We chose the 93 because it meets the 91 half of the requirement and because the price of the 90/0 ethanol was outrageously priced.

    • @Paisteboy
      @Paisteboy  8 месяцев назад

      What I don't understand is if they require 91 octane why did the whole state and maybe the country lower the non ethanol to 90 octane. It used to be 91 Octane. I really don't think 1 percent octane difference is going to make any difference. I also have also been using the 90 octane ever since it changed with no problems and that also includes my Blizzard. I just read an article and it says that most of the people using the non ethanol are for 2 strokes and older engines. the article was dated December 2017.

    • @drbobvs
      @drbobvs 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Paisteboy Yes, Non ethanol is more for older, carburated engines, to prevent gum up in the off season. While I dont think it can hurt, I also don't think you're getting any benefit over 93 octane when running. To be safe its a good idea to perhaps run 93 in season then put non ethanol at the end of the season. Since I have the 900 ACE, I can run 87 octane in season, then put non ethanol 90 along with some Sta-Bil int the tank for summer storage. Has worked out well so far.

    • @Paisteboy
      @Paisteboy  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the insight bob. The sleds have been sitting so I'm glad I got non ethanol in it now.

      @@Paisteboy Little tip. If you would use a selfie stick and extend away from you, maybe toward your windshield. That would cut down on the fisheye look. This way you can fit more into the shot without having to zoom out/back in edit. That's mainly when the "fisheye look" happens. 360 cameras work the best when they are around an arms length away.

    • @Paisteboy
      @Paisteboy  8 месяцев назад

      The camera is hooked up to the handlebars. You can't put a selfie stick on the handlebars. It already gets a little in the way when I have to lean into a left turn and having a swinging pole attached will make it worse. Do you have one of these cameras?

    • @yupsure
      @yupsure 8 месяцев назад

      @@Paisteboy I do, I have the X3. I'm hopefully coming up next weekend to Old forge weather permitting of course. I'll test my setup and message you how it works out.

    • @Paisteboy
      @Paisteboy  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ok. So you have one but haven't used it yet. You may have to get used to the fish eye look because getting certain views without being many feet away, it's your only choice. There are many different choices when editing but none will get rid of the fisheye without focusing on things that are far away from the camera. Test out your rig and let me know how that goes. Maybe you might see something that I'm missing. Good luck and have fun on your ride.
