Wish he'd got to do some some more acting in othe parts. Was nice getting to see the episode of The Saint he was in, shown here in England on ITV4 yesterday (again). Every so often those ITC action/adventure series get repeated on ITV4, sometimes they show, or they used to show some on the BBC but hardly either these days. Randell and Hopkerk (orriginal series) was good usesually - and Roger delgado was in an episode of that once briefly as the casino owner?, in the one where marty helps Jeff cheat at roulette.
+larry potter it is technically karate he uses. However in some episodes like Carnival of Monsters, he does boxing with the captain of the boat because when Jon Pertwee was in the Navy, he did boxing.
+Chris's Collection I didn't know that. Oddly, and don't ask me why, I found Carnival Of Monsters one of my favorites of the Pertwee years. My favorite Jon Pertwee episode was his last episode, Planet Of The Spiders.
John Pertwee did a ton of albums including: Sings Songs for Vulgar Boatmen - 1962 Children's Favourites - 1966 Oliver - 1966 The Arcadians - 1968 Wonderful Children's Songs - 1972 Worzel Gummidge Sings - 1980 The Navy Lark - 1989
+The Other Interesting isn't it. The TARDIS traveled into the dimension of color. Who knows, no pun intended, one day she might break the dimension of 3d right in your own living room.
He was a Bad Ass Doctor!!!! we will always keep your memories in our hearts, Doctor (Jon Pertwee) You were not just "The Doctor", you were : Da Man!!!!
I quite liked his era. His first episode ("Spearhead from Space") is very badly paced. But there are still some good ones. I like the two Peladon eps ("The Curse of Peladon" and "The Monster of Peladon") a lot. "The Mind of Evil" is great too. The Third Doctor era also introduced The Master. Roger Delgado's Master is really great IMO.
@@mizusenshisongs My favorite is "The Sea Devils," one of the few stories that made me glad it was more than a 4-parter. So many wonderful moments, and the Master is in the story throughout rather than appearing some point past the first episode.
Mizusenshi Your alone on Spearheaded from space it’s usually seen as a classic. Not saying your wrong just weird to here people say they don’t like it.
I always love this. Jon was my first Doctor and always will be my favorite. I'm stoked about Peter Capaldi and already I see a hint of the Third Doctor in him.
When John visited WV back in the 1980s he was a guest at a Doctor Who get together on the Marshall University campus I had the honor to act as his body guard of sorts I found him to be very funny and just a down to earth guy. We hit it off since we were both former Navy I USN and of course John was in the RN it hurt me much when I found out sometime later that he had died he was and is my favorite Doctor
That is cool dude, I wasn't caught by the classics at first, but a few of Jon Pertwee's episode and I decided to watch the classic series, I wish I had been old enough to meet him and get his autograph (But I would have been like 7 when he passed away.
Jon Pertwee truly a bad-ass Doctor i grew up with as a kid he's a real suave james bond style action hero, has had the most smartest and absolute beautiful female companions, owned sweet-ass vehicles, experience with an outstanding older style of martial arts, really clever in building useful and effective gadgets, his arch nemesis is cunning and brutally evil, the monsters and other similar villains are more frighting and menacing towards the doctor, works for a fantastic task force with a sometimes head strong but courageous leader and an old friend to the doctor, also has the most fascinating amazing stories to watch, the best Doctor of classic/new series.
The final lyrics sound more like "No man am I...The Doctor!" As if to say "Hey, who do you think I am?! Just some regular human being? Wrong! I'm the Doctor!" That was more what it seemed and sounded like.
The Doctor was what got me interested in history and kinda inspired me to pursue a degree in it, while I don't as of yet have a type 80 TARDIS Istill journey through time thanks to my history books collection. If memory serves me correctly I believe I first saw Pertwee's Doctor on our PBS station in 1974 or 1975 and when I saw him use his Venusian akidio it got me into the study of martial arts which I am very proficient at He was my inspiration and as I stated when I met him a friend I just wish I had, had the were with all to have gotten his address in Oz so I could have stayed in contact with him.
I agree!! He was the saviour for all future generations!!! The BBC were about to cancel the weekly programme until Jon Pertwee rescued It!!! A talent way ahead of his time!!
As do I. Without him the BBC was about to cancel the programme, as Ptrick Troughton had done a good job, als though, not good enough to maintain the ratings!!!
This totally rocks! I love this. Jon Pertwee is the Doctor. This version of the theme song is definitely better than the crap of the last season of Doctor Who.
Jon pertwee such an underrated actor the best Doctor Who ever yet not him at his wonderful best stick him with the likes of Ronnie Barker ect and you have gold such a shame we never got to see them together other than the radio show the navy lark
While I still like Tom Baker & Patrick Troughton as two of my favourite doctors Joh will still always be the doctor that makes Dr Who very likeable. I mean without him I would never see The Mind of Evil in colour on DVD or The Deamons the story I really wanted to see on DVD.
Remember got this when it originally came out in the early 70s on the deep purple label. Great record, distinctive Pertwee Who and perhaps the greatest of all Doctors. Forget your new 'Who' - this is true Who :)
Star Trek has it's Kirk/Spock/McCoy/Scotty team. The best ever team in Doctor Who was Pertwee/Delgado/Courtney/Caroline John. This is not to lessen the contributions of all others who have filled the shoes of The Doctor and various companions and villains, but this quartet is a classic that has not yet been rivaled.
I cross the void beyond the mindThe empty space that circles time.I see where others stumble blindTo seek a truth they never find.Eternal wisdom is my guide.I am the Doctor. The way Jon Pertwee says "I am the Doctor" makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. He WAS the Doctor!
Still is The Doctor.
He was a very unique doctor, always will be my favourite
@@themightybob I think you’re right. Despite all these new flashy Disney special effects, 1974 to 1981 remain when the show reached its apex.
Until Tom Baker
Jon Pertwee, Roger Delgado, Nicholas Courtney, Caroline John...All wonderful legends who are no longer with us.
Silversands ω Except for John Levene.
And now also Liz Sladen... :'(
MaddoxProductions1 And John Levene too. Such a shame though, that so many are already gone.

And Ian Marter and Mary Tamm and Liz Sladden.Tom Baker has survived half of his companions.
In high school we had to write a “poem”. I felt lazy so just wrote the lyrics to this song. I didn’t get a very good grade 😂
I'm 28 and grew up with modern DW... but the Third Doc's era is my favorite. So comfortable
Literally down to earth
Jon Pertwee and Roger Delgado, the perfect adversaries.
My favourite Doctor. Action man and a dandy!
The Original Space Dandy! :D
Ditto! He was my first, too!
A dandy and a clown
Basically Adam Adamant
The James bond of the doctors!
I call him the karate Doctor.
Technically he's the Venusian aikido doctor
+Harvey Rayson I stand corrected.

+larry potter I must admit. Carnival of Monsters is one of my favourite classic who episodes as well.
Less an intro, more of a green lantern oath
That's exactly what it is!
In brightest day... And blackest night... No dalek shall escape my sight!
let those who worship, evils might, beware my TARDIS, the doctors flight
It eez... what it eez
This song really captures the magic of Doctor Who.
This makes me wish jon pertwee did a full album, his voice is amazing! (especially whilst singing the Venusian lullaby)
aron aroon arron aroon.
John Pertwee did a ton of albums including:
Sings Songs for Vulgar Boatmen - 1962
Children's Favourites - 1966
Oliver - 1966
The Arcadians - 1968
Wonderful Children's Songs - 1972
Worzel Gummidge Sings - 1980
The Navy Lark - 1989

He definitely was BAD ASS with his karate chops and hip clothes.
VINCENT RATHBONE
Hai!!!!
I'm currently on the Second Doctor in classic, and this makes me look even more forward to the Third.
Have you gotten to him yet? How is he? Isnt he just the "Dandiest" Doctor? :)

Happy birthday and RIP to the legend that is Jon Pertwee who would of turned 100 today.

"Who knows?" you say. But are you right?
For this and other reasons Jon Pertwee is MY favorite Doctor!
My favourite doctor.RIP Legend and all others on the show who have passed away
I would like to think that since Ian Flemming and Jon Pertwee knew each other that maybe Jon influenced Ian's 007.
I really think that capaldi should do a version of this :)
He did

When? I need to see that!
During a video where he and christle dee were sketching the doctors he started singing it.

I love it ❤, Pertwee IS the best Doctor, he IS The Doctor, and as he says : reverse the polarity !

Wow, I know this is a well-done edit but you can imagine the production crew in the gallery saying "Yep, this is working". It's OBVIOUS.
