I agree with Jon Pertwee that Roger Delgado was the BEST Master! ... Nobody else even came close! ... Delgado was superb, and it's such a tragedy that he died at 55.
A lot of cult sci-fi movies enjoyed a revival in the UK in the '80s due to showings on Channel 4. There was a documentary on Ed Wood by Jonathan Ross too, so his name was fairly well known over here before the Depp movie.
