      That's debatable. Alfa is telling people this because the original meaning of the logo is no longer politically correct. Originally, the left side is meant to be the crusader cross insignia next to a Visconti crest which is a snake eating a Muslim man, as it was intended to be another pro-Christian crusader symbol to combine with the crusader cross. For obvious reasons, the company has decided to interpret the logo differently, and since its their logo they can decide what its supposed to mean, but just FYI it historically had a different meaning.

    I've always liked this vehicle. A couple of interior zonks. 1) too much red 2) the headliner color isn't found anywhere else in the car. 3) gear selector area could be designed better. 4) I'd like the full color logo on the steering wheel and key fob. At $46k it's definitely worth looking at.

    I believe all Alfa Romeo Stelvios are AWD, all wheel drive. They are rear wheel biased though. Just a correction. I would buy one of these used when the prices come down more, although you can get one for a bargain of a price compared to other luxury brands. As for reliability, we will have to wait & see.. If they are, they will make a great used, unique, crossover.

I'm a driver who's owned and raced many cars. I also own motorcycles. The Stelvio can more than hold its own against other performance vehicles. It is deceptively fast. @@cbruno12180 Well, Porsche ranked 2nd best after Lexus for JD power's reliability ranking this year, given that I don't know how good of a source that is though. And I'm not the one that said it was better in every way. Your point on pricing is true, I would never call a Porsche a good bang for your buck in terms of horsepower. Regarding the interior I stand by thinking there are cheaper plastics in the alfa, and styling is subjective. Oh and yea, I've heard good things about that transmission, but I've heard better of the PDK.

The Nero Edition is a must imo, as well as the live leather stitching package for the upper door and dashboard because the standard dash has a popcorn looking vinyl that kinda ruins the interior. I have experienced a lag in take off if it's between turning off and when I press the gas pedal. I turn it off during regular driving. My Stelvio doesn't shake when the car turns restarts. It's a rapid restart and off I go! -Lane departure warning is as loud or not as loud as your volume button. I noticed the louder my music is, the warning volume adjusts. Great review of this vehicle. The red interior is cool, but a little too much when paired with the red exterior. If you're buying one of these you have to go AWD. A nice touch would be to make the start/stop button on the steering wheel red white and green...like the Italian flag.

    • @djbrianc

      The Stelvio is built on the same platform that the Giulia. Called Giorgio platform. It is not currently used on other FCA products.

    • @L1GHT119
      @L1GHT119 5 лет назад +1

      djbrianc ok but basically the size of the $25k Cherokee for $45k . I’ve seen both in person and Stelvio has a retuned motor the same as in the 2019 Jeep Cherokee . The sweet spot is A used 2018 Stelvio , which by me, low miles under 4k , sells for $31-32k.

    Alfa dealers can't seem to give these cars away.
    no one is buying them, and the dealers are offering crazy incentives..almost $10,000 off.
    that with Alfa's poor reliably poor resale value and shoddy dealer network in America, you'd be a fool to buy one.

      They can't give them away because the maintenance on Alphas are OUTRAGEOUS. I have a Stelvio Ti Sport. My absolute dream car. $450 for an oil change and at 20k miles it's $965 for oil change & "system update." The average person can't fathom paying these maintenance fees. But if Alpha *gave* me one, I would be happy to!!😘

    • @PornflakesNL
      @PornflakesNL 4 года назад

      I understand these problems in the US. Here in Europe that's not really an issue cause you can drop them off at a nearby alfa dealer, which are decently distributed across the continent (although not as much as say volkswagen e.d) but you can also drop by any fiat dealer, which are everywhere. So that might be why the sales over here are better.

  • @gipsyavenger9829
    @gipsyavenger9829 5 лет назад +1

    If they figure out the reliability issues they will sell. Alfa is struggling in the US Market. Joe not sure I saw it but did you mention what the price tag is on this 4 banger version? Interior is awful.

    • @gipsyavenger9829

      Cool didn't see the price. $50k is a much more realistic cost off the lot. Seriously though can we all have a "come to Jesus" ? Nobody wants basic anything. "Starting at" means nothing in this day and age. Seen many cars "starting at" $39 but were well over $50k off the lot. Can we please move to more realistic nomenclature? Car's should come in 3 versions.: Basic, Almost there, Yes!! There is always room for Misc./Etc. category for the guys who hate everything on the internet.

    If you spec the full leather package, you wouldn’t have that “ orange peel “ look you don’t Like. If you spec it with the sport seats, it would be perforated and bolstered. Why don’t these casual youtubers ever read a options sheet before they start complaining about what a car doesn’t have.? P. S. The engine is 2 liters.
