I'm not asexual, a lot of women in my family are though so I've been aware of it from a fairly young age, but I just think it's so so amazing that people can make this choice these days, I know some of the women in my family would have preferred this option to "traditional" arrangements lol all the power and love to the single mums out there whatever the circumstances you all badass ♥

I didn't know ace people even had the desire for children. Idk why but I always just assumed not being attracted to anyone meant the desire for reproduction was also gone. In all the ace circles I've been in over the years, no one ever brought up the idea of having kids as an ace, or even wanting that as a possibility. All the ace women I talked to were content being child-free, so I just thought all aces were. This video has low key educated me

i wholeheartedly understand pretending the pregnancy is not happening. we were planning for a second, unexpectedly fell pregnant, and it rocked my world. i had hyperemesis with my first and do with this one as well. i’ve been sick struggling with PTSD, i genuinely don’t want to be pregnant and have been so depressed. which besides the hyperemesis, i enjoyed my daughters pregnancy. nobody talks about the grief and struggles of what a planned pregnancy can look like and it can be so hard. very proud of you for bringing this to light and sharing your story. your feelings are so valid mama🤍

Sending moral support! It’s a little tough to deal with the loss of independence, but mothering your own child is more demanding compared to fostering in many ways, because postpartum recovery is surprisingly slow, typically 9 months before you really feel like your old self. You need a village to raise a child and maintain sanity. And you need a lot of good nourishment and plenty of rest for the months after delivery. Hang on, and enjoy the time with the to-be grandparents! And oh gosh, you could review pp maternity reusable pads too. I used reusable ones pp, and it was problematic that they were black because my midwife wanted to check the amount and colour during the first weeks. Wished there were ones with lighter prints.

I'm a single mom by choice, and even though I had an easy pregnancy, there were plenty of days where I just didn't want to think about my pregnancy. I could literally wake up in the morning and forget I was pregnant until I tried to get up out of bed and was hindered by my bumb. I never had the cloud nine feeling during pregnancy, and not after birth either (no pp depression either thankfully), but was just sort of feeling almost ambiguous. It was hard to come to terms with the feeling guilty for feeling so "neutral or bland", I must confess. After all, I wanted this, I chose this, I know I was lucky to conceive quickly and have a "breeze thru" no complications pregnancy in my late thirties. So why wasn't I feeling over the moon? As a result I didn't announce my pregnancy until I was midway thru. And my baby being born prematurely, I felt my pregnancy only really existed about three months and the rest was sort of being in denial. To this day, I don't know why I felt the way I felt. I've never looked back with regret, have a wonderful daughter, but I struggle with this pressure almost to be on cloud nine and radiate this to your surroundings. That's not how every pregnant woman feels like, regardless of the way her pregnancy and birth go. Some are silently feeling like crap, some are just getting on and don't want pregnancy to take center stage all the time, and some can talk about nothing else. We're just all different and we're all OK the way we are. Looking forward to seeing your journey and finding moments of recognition. Good luck!

Just had this convo- For the ladies who don't claim "asexual" (which to me sounds like lack of interest in relationships, just the perks) but as a 38yr old woman, never pregnant, long term relationship most of my 30's and planned to do the whole marry, motherhood- until it ended. Now here I am, wasted time and now it's too late. No medical confirmation but I just assume now I am close to 40- too risky. So, now what is the point of a relationship, I have chosen my dog-son, living solo. But I want a baby. MY baby. I am a professional women who could do it....why not? Why let that destroy my life, my dreams, my happiness. Another interesting sign of times- the celebs foregoing mtiple baby daddy's, mothers but want siblings without the drama... use his baby makers and have the family you want while protecting your well being!

I do have a partner who is absolutely lovely, but I've always wanted to be a mom and considered embryo adoption as an option if I never got married. I also have issues with my periods and have ruled out endometriosis, but recently found out about the condition you have, and I'm looking into checking on that! I just discovered you channel thru your episode one of journey to solo motherhood. The title intrigued me as I'm a single mom as well. I decided to watch this video first.
I'm very much NOT asexual. Ever since I can remember I've wanted to get married and have babies. But, as it turned out, no guys have ever wanted to marry me. And I was just having fun with all the guys I wanted to during my 20's. I really did want to find Mr. Right, but turns out there isn't one for me. I decided if I hadn't found him by 35, I'd pursue pregnancy via a sperm donor. Then I got knocked up at 30. Not planned, I was using birth control.
I did look into using a donor for a second child when my daughter was 3. But I deal with chronic illness and decided one on my own was all I could handle. Sadly, I'm still single, but I'm 48 with a 17 yr old who loves being an only. Her dad offered to get me pregnant at 43, but I doubt he was serious. At any rate, I didn't want to have a baby at that age. I did end up having a hysterectomy when I was 46, and once you're done having kids for sure, I 10/10 recommend it.

Congratulations! Children are a blessing and it's ok if the journey there is not what you expected. Before having my kids I loved the idea of pregnancy and feeling the bumps grow. I thought it would be all sunshine and roses and silly food cravings. And It was horrible, I was sick most of it, after the first my Dr said maybe no more. My second came as a shock and it was harder than the first, I ended up in ambulance and hospital. I love my children dearly but pregnancy was nothing like I had ever hoped and that's OK. Your right ppl don't talk about it as much and it made me feel guilty sometimes but it's a normal thing too. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I wanted to and that's OK. I really hope yours gets better and the sickness passes but you are not alone when it comes to pregnancy not being all you dreamed it would be.

That mental war of your brain not understanding what’s happening or why is exactly what I went through. It was such a terrible experience. I’m sorry you’re going through it.

Omg congratulations! I’m pregnant too and we are a similar age, I’m 24 and currently 7.5 weeks. I’m sorry you’ve been having a difficult time with your health I understand what you mean about having different feelings to what you expect before getting pregnant. I thought I would be super excited as we were trying but have had much more mixed feelings so far. Thankfully my symptoms haven’t been too bad but I have been very tired, dizzy and feeling faint making it hard to work and do things which is annoying. I hope things get better for you

Congrats. I’m due beginning of January and I understand having a difficult or tricky pregnancy. This is my 4th pregnancy (3rd baby) and mine are always so bad that I end up hospitalized at some point. Keep your head up, the end is getting closer and you’ll meet your baby soon enough

I have followed you for a while and I’m so happy for you. I am 20 years your senior and I too have chosen to do the smbc route. It has been very difficult because I don’t have the support of my family that’s why I have chosen not to tell them to avoid any stress. I also haven’t told anyone in my circle just to avoid any 🧿. It’s much easier when your younger. At my age I have to use donor egg and sperm. Anyhow, I wish you the best and many blessings your way.

This is going to be fun.
I used toe watch your videos long time ago. Then I made a bunch of period pads of my own. I have daughters and wanted to give them options. ( they were not interested 😯). I enjoyed your videos. I always thought you would be such a good mom. I’m sorry to hear you are not feeling well lately. I hope things improve soon. I’m excited to watch as your journey unfolds.

Hugs! I felt that way with my 3rd and 4th pregnancies. Especially my 3rd, my only daughter, I was so sick, for 18 weeks, it was pure misery and very discouraging.

Congratulations 🎉 Completely unexpected but amazing news! I was 22 and 24 when I became pregnant with my babies and I’m so grateful I had them young. You’ll be incredible. Please let me know if you have any questions about the birth side of things, I chose to have both at home so can remember everything vividly and you’ve helped me so much over the years with period advice on your channel ❤

Congratulations!!! I wish people would share their *not enjoyable pregnancy* experience more! I waited so long for my rainbow baby that when I was pregnant I had a hard time with the fact that I did not enjoy pregnancy. It was extremely hard to feel thankful and happy which made me feel guilty.
I’m looking forward to seeing your videos if your journey!! And I wish you the best with doing it solo…your so independent and you can do it!

As long as baby is loved, protected, cared for and provided for it does not matter one jot about how he/she is conceived, as a single mum myself I can attest to how challenging and tiring it can be but with a beautiful support network and people who love us and our baby it makes it so rewarding and so worth it, I was with my daughters dad and we broke up, and honestly I am more happy now than I ever was in the relationship, you from a young age have shown how responsible and grown up you are and I have always adored you and your content, I am excited to see how ever much of your journey to motherhood as you are willing to show ❤️

Congratulations! My pregnancy with my second child was really hard for me and I just didn't feel like talking about it at all. I wasn't excited until late in the pregnancy. It took me a long time to tell most people about it and I kind of hid the whole pregnancy. Thanks for sharing ❤️
