My question is how to study for the real world, studying for university and school was easy. How do you effectively learn in real life, in my case programming. I find that my brute force studying method of taking notes(written in my own words) from the books, courses and documentations along with practice isn't very efficient. I'm even employed and if anything I was learning far more when I didn't have a job, but now that I do I need to learn how to learn quickly and efficiently.
I have started the preparation for a competitive exam this year, have been your sub for years now, it is the most perfect timing to learn more of anki. Thanks Ali, you will be building lives with this one🎉🎉
you have helped me unlock the beauty of life and productivity.I will try to help others do the same. This i think will be the ultimate way to say thank you for your efforts.
Flashcards are great if you prepare them progressively as you encounter the material, and study a bit every day. I don't know what your timing is like, but when it's time to study for your exams, it's already too late to implement flashcards.
I'm refining my study strategy after a two-year break from uni, searched for "Anki", looking particularly for content that you shared - what a joy to find out you've posted this masterclass just two days ago! Thank you!!! 🤓
Amazing!!! Every time you are able to surprise us. It is not just a course on how to use the program but how to use it in the most efficient way! Thank you
I've learned more from your channel in a month than I have in years of self-improvement. Your practical tips and strategies have transformed my life, boosting my productivity and focus. You're the best!😊❤😊
i just started high school and i was struggling so much with urdu, watching this and using what it showed me helped me out a ton and i went from an f to a b TYSM♥♥
Anki is amazing, I wish I knew about it when I started college, would've saved me lots of time and effort! + I just found that Sydney isn't Australia's capital, I have lived in the darkness my whole life!
TTS (text to speach) is the super-puper add-on ! not only essential for language learning, but in general, as you can review cards without looking on the screen.
I downloaded Anki but didn't know how the algorithm worked or how I could make it useful, as I'm preparing to get into a med school, this is exactly what I needed. I won't be doing flashcards right now, as it needs time to build the system, but so helpful after I get into med school truely thank you, Ali.
@@renavwissen7817 there are but self made are best cuz they are acc to your need and knowledge. we can take some help but can't depend on it, as it can be overwhelming.
Lol, finally he has released this video. I have been asking him for a while now. Looks like he read my comment somewhere. I love you Man. Thanks you so much. 🙌🏽
I watch RUclips videos and listen to podcasts on subjects I want to learn about, but thank you for the tip of anki, There was a flash card app that I download it when I was studying.
Anki shortcuts: Spacebar: Flip to the back side of a card. 1 key: Record a "Fail" response to a card. 2 key: Record a "Hard" response to a card. 3 key: Record a "Good" response to a card. 4 key: Record an "Easy" response to a card. Ctrl + Enter: Add selected card to deck. R: Replay audio. X: Delete selected card. Ctrl + Shift + D: Duplicate selected card. Ctrl + S: Save changes. Ctrl + Z: Undo.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Anki fan, I've been using it since my first year at university. But in the last 6 months I've switched to Flashka and honestly, it's been a game changer. It has all the same features (spaced repetition, flashcard editing, image occlusion, etc) and uses a similar SM2 algorithm, but the best part is that I can automatically generate flashcards from my professors' slides. It's like having premade decks directly from your professor, usually I also edit them directly in class as I take notes while tweaking the premade flashcards :)
@@Phylumspongella it's free if you don't care about the advertisements on the home page but I think there's a pop up with the app and ends up being 50% off so like $40 or something? idk! I think its worth it if you're going to actively be using active recall and spaced repetition for the year
Found your evidence based study tips when I was in undergrad (great timing), then you moved onto really helpful real world useful videos once I finished uni (also great timing), and right as I get accepted into a Masters degree and was thinking of starting using your Google sheets active recall method but was also considering Anki last night (I'm in Tokyo right now), you upload this (again immaculate timing). I'm making something like this, but it looks much better, sharing/picking packs is much easier, and there is no card overload, and you can explain the answer in your own words. I'll be launching a beta in like two weeks' time.

However, I guess a lot of us are now FY1/2 or above... and I wonder how these principles apply now when studying for your specialty, taking into account that there's not gonna be an exam "soon". I think you can use Google Sheets to make flashcards in CSV format and import them into Anki. I used Gemini to generate questions and answers in table format then I exported them into a Google sheet, downloaded them as CSV, and then imported them and I found it is pretty good
this course was made before FSRS. most people nowadays use the FSRS algorithm since it's way better at estimating your retention. This can be turned on in the settings if you scroll to the bottom. I just see a lot of people going to the settings chapter of the video which is outdated ://
True. Also, the "Review Sort Order" setting should be set to "Ascending Difficulty," which has been tested to be the best sort order for dealing with a backlog of cards, and the sort order has been shown to not matter anyways for decks that don't have a backlog.
Hey Ali ! Would you like to make a video on how did you get into Harvard medical college . It will be helpful for many of the teenagers like me that aspire to go there😊
Hey Ali. Im in uni doing Biomedical Science, and I've recently started using notion for notes and questions (basically your notion method) and keep anki aside as I used it in a levels but I don't understand how anki doesn't provide the scope of the subject like you mentioned in your notion vids (so it wouldn't be efficient when studying larger concepts + anki is just question and answer to memorize facts (single facts )). Thanks
Can't thank you enough as I am going to use it to revise my IT prompt command, I used to be on the verge of deciding whether I like you or not, now I really do 🙏
