    I wish they would make those smaller rims optional on the upper trim. I live in an area with a lot of potholes and more tire less rim is a bonus.

    • @AskforBryan
      @AskforBryan  7 месяцев назад

      The SEs and XSEs have a lot more going on with the bodywork and the smaller wheels would kinda look off in my opinion. I do understand what you mean with tire costs though. The sport trims are meant to me sporty though, both in appearances and in handling. Those 17s are clearly economy tires which aids in the 51 MPGs.

      Toyota offers options on LE. Might be OK adding something to base model rather than moving up in model.

    • @GenXtra65
      @GenXtra65 7 месяцев назад +5

      In the real world of driving, more ground clearance and tire side wall is better. A better ride and fuel economy should have been our first clue that thin tires and big rims are a silly trend.

  • @Cap683
    @Cap683 4 месяца назад +1

    My best guess is that the 2025 Camry LE comes with an options package much of the time. I specifically bought the LE for the 16 inch tires. I was frequently having my tires blow out when hitting a pot hole or a curb with my 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V6. The ride is not overly soft and feels pretty tied down. It seems that our local dealership gets quite a few Camry SE models and they sell. I think that I am the only buyer of the Camry LE in red. For a base trim, the car comes with everything that I could want. My old Accord was definitely a "driver's car" but the Camry has ample power and the handling is secure.

(although you do get it with the Convenience Package). In fact it's worth pointing out that a 25' LE with the Convenience Package + Cold Weather Package is cheaper than the 24' Camry LE Hybrid with just the Cold Weather Package alone, and still has many more features than the 24 LE hybrid does.

    Similar to another comment, I, too, wish that the silver, smaller rims were available on the SE model. The black wheels on it are hideous and they are 19". Replacement tires are much more expensive vs. the 17" on the LE and the larger rims reduce mpg's.

      @@AskforBryan It's all what you're used to. Back in the day, cars bigger and heavier than the Camry came with 14" wheels. 16's were considered big. Today, 16's are considered small. But their actually the perfect size for this size car. The increased sidewall flex produces a more comfortable ride that doesn't pound and beat the car to death causing early rattles and squeaks. Not to mention improved fuel economy and reduced overall cost.

      @@AskforBryan Toyota Canada has lost the plot over the last few years. We can get our cheapest version of the FWD SE with 16" rims to smooth our notorious potholes. Quite incredibly, we have to pay for 18" rims in the package that gives us the SE with the AWD we need for extra winter traction. No bueno. 😡 This aggravation just adds to the frustration caused by the chronic shortage of Hybrids in our market. We make the RAV4, Lexus NX and RX Hybrids up here but they are in very short supply. Speaking of short supply, I just don't see where Toyota will get the batteries to supply a 100% Hybrid Camry lineup in 2024.

      A lot of that decreased disability has to do with crash test safety standards with a lot more emphasis on roof damage so as these cars get structurally stronger that typically means they are going to get a little bit thicker on the roof lines. At least they do have a lot of safety features baked into help with that now.

    If the material section on the dash is removable, that is good. How long with that material on the dashboard take to discolor, get dirty, or come apart dues to constant exposure to sunlight. The seats look flat, so a long run test, as in the butt test, of 300 miles would be cool. This seems like a great value, for those not minding having the battery in the cabin -- under the rear seat. Looks like a value, aside of side-sticker pricing. The 5.4" ground clearance is a little low. If I got another sedan, this is something I would test first. Maybe? At this time I am still considering moving up in the world, as in a more elevated auto, and not one you drop into.

    It is unfortunate the Big 3 has pretty much thrown in the towel on cars. Now they are trucks and SUV's that are over priced and not practical for most entry level owners. I believe import design and technology teams have proven to be favored overall, however with more careful management the domestic brands could do way better than they have, but that's my honest opinion. Not to mention Stalantis is calling the shots as well. Ford still hanging in there but who can trust the future reliability and OEM parts availability when they discontinue models and recklessly pay attention to customer service at the dealerships. You really have to ask yourself" is it worth the price"?🤔

The new Camry's become overpriced throwaway junk. It’s a nice looking sedan, but $30k is too much. You’d be smart to spend a little more and get a RAV4 which will depreciate a lot less and is much safer in a crash since you are sitting higher.

    Please be the Toyota rock star by taking a stab at answering the following questions that no one else has been able to answer:
    1. Does the 2025 Camry have steel knuckles or aluminum knuckles?
    2. Approximately how many shop hours to replace new lithium ion battery in 2025 Camry under the seat? I’m hoping the new design requires less time to be removed to get the battery out compared to the previous generation.
    3. Does the 2025 Camry have an electronically controlled variable oil pump?
    4. Does the ECVT transmission in the 2025 Camry have a slush lubrication system or does it have a dry sump system like the 2024 Prius Prime?
    5. Is the transmission in the 2025 Camry the PB12 transmission like in the 2024 Prius Prime which is larger than what is in the standard Prius?
    6. Does the 2025 Camry have lug nuts with bolts or did you switch to bolts like on the 2024 Prius?
    7. Does the 2025 have a re-designed Two Piece timing chain cover like the 2024 Prius which was re-designed to eliminate the chances of leaks?

I expect MY Car to last 20 years and 200,000 miles without major repair. The Battery will not last this long. Screwed by the green new deal. • @escheidl
      @escheidl 7 месяцев назад

      @@AskforBryan I use the EV button in my 18' LE Camry hybrid all the time. When I get to within a little less than a mile from home in my residential area I put it in EV mode. As long as I don't go over 25 mph it generally stays there unless the traction battery simply doesn't have the juice at the time to pull it off. And I also use it whenever I go into parking garages. I would really miss it if it was gone. When you start the car cold it's just going to run the engine anyway to warm it up, so there's no point to parking it with a fully charged battery because it's just going to recharge it while it's warming up. It's like getting to coast the car home free for the last mile. Every little bit adds up,

      It’s the base model. Of course the interior will be… base… Also, these are E-CVT, not CVT. Much different, look it up. Lastly, battery replacement in 10 years IF it’s needed, will be around $1,500-$2000. Look at Prius battery replacement cost. The battery size on these hybrids are tiny compared to full EV’s.
