He played from the age of 6 all the way to college ball for OSU! (Go Beavs) He is now a history teacher and special teams coach at his alma mater. My younger son was diagnosed with autism at 2 1/2, he is now 26 years old. When I heard that you and your husband supported the charity of autism, that’s when I started following. I hope you’re able to do a podcast on autism!! Knowledge is power and if you could help educate your listeners about autism and what the parents and the individual diagnosed with it go through on a day-to-day basis, that would truly be a blessing.

I agree with all the toy suggestions, when we moved once, I found swords and nurf guns on top the hutch,. My Sister In Law did gift our son a dog on his 10th birthday without our knowledge. It did not go well.... I feel when you talked about the NFL wife's and fitting in to new team was similar to my 20 years as a Navy wife, moving to new cities and trying to fit in for a few years, just to get comfortable, then off to next duty station, .

Hey I bought my daughter and Easy Bake Oven when she was young. We used it twice. It was such a mess that I hid it. About 12 years later, my daughter was looking in a cabinet in the kitchen. Lo behold in the very back was the easy bank oven. That was now 12 years later and she still reminds me that I hid her Easy Bake Oven which was her favorite childhood toy!

Once someone gave my 3 year old daughter a box of 10,000 beads. As my husband vacuumed them up all over the house, he declared that we could not be friends with them anymore. He also banned feather boas and Easter grass. I’m with you on toys that make noise. It’s so hard, you don’t want to sound ungrateful, but we also need to stay less crazy….my kids are 25 and 21 and the rules still apply. A pee can is something you pee in when you don’t have indoor plumbing. A pecan is a lovely nut. This is according to my great grandmother deep in the heart of Texas. Love your podcast!

My mother in law showed me the best ever hack - gift the toy already assembled, with the batteries already in it. I used it on my own kids at Christmas. I would wrap the box and then wrap the assembled toy, all ready to be played with. It saved our holidays for many years.

Hey I bought my daughter and Easy Bake Oven when she was young. We used it twice. It was such a mess that I hid it. About 12 years later, my daughter was looking in a cabinet in the kitchen. Lo behold in the very back was the easy bank oven. That was now 12 years later and she still reminds me that I hid her Easy Bake Oven which was her favorite childhood toy!

Once someone gave my 3 year old daughter a box of 10,000 beads. As my husband vacuumed them up all over the house, he declared that we could not be friends with them anymore. He also banned feather boas and Easter grass. I’m with you on toys that make noise. It’s so hard, you don’t want to sound ungrateful, but we also need to stay less crazy….my kids are 25 and 21 and the rules still apply.
A pee can is something you pee in when you don’t have indoor plumbing. A pecan is a lovely nut. This is according to my great grandmother deep in the heart of Texas.

The reason why we like the show is because of the kinks. I hope that there are still kinks all the time. That is the reality and we do not need to be perfect. The goal is to get through the kinks gracefully, still knowing who we are and carrying our values.

My mother in law showed me the best ever hack - gift the toy already assembled, with the batteries already in it. I used it on my own kids at Christmas. I would wrap the box and then wrap the assembled toy, all ready to be played with. It saved our holidays for many years.

I raised 3 girls and dealt with "oh no, not that gift!" One year, they got a 10,000 piece jewelry-making set - EACH!!!! 30,000 beads in my house! And Play Doh? That went in their overnight bag when they spent the night with the giver with instructions to leave it there for future visits 😄
