Hi. It doesnt matter how strictly I follow you video, my items never came out the same as yours. Is it possable that it could have something to fo the the rollers on my Ig Shot. Does the surface of the card stock have anything to do with this. The card stock that I use is smooth on one side which I use for the inside of the card for writting the message. The other side is a bit textured. I'e also tried some of you other teqnues and dambed if I get them as need as yours. Please help Thanks Cherrie
Hi Cherrie, Thank you for contacting us. Yes there are variables which will effect your end result. Cardstock thickness and quality as well as height of your die cutting machine opening. Please email us at salesteam@couturecreations.com.au where we can then contact you over the phone with more solutions which may be suited to your problems. Thanks
I notice on all the things you hotfoil that it is missing bits of foil, thats the same problem Im having which I think for such an expensive machine it should foil much better than it does.
Great video, just wish you would´ve used some darker foil or darker papers, so it was easier to see the end results, as the silver on white is really not easy to see at all in the vido
Wouldn't heating the plastic embossing folders eventually damage them? Great video by the way I just got the machine for my birthday yesterday. Thanks for your demo's.
Hi Kathy, Great question, but there isn't enough heat produced to effect your embossing folder. Best of all you get some great results from your embossing folders. You may also like to try foiling onto heat proof acetate and poly presentation bags (just need a cardstock shim inside the bag). Thanks
At 9.39 you mention 'letter pressing'. What is the difference between an embossing folder -- either side of the folder: raised or the opposite -- and letter pressing? Thanks so much :-).
Hi Angie, Great question. Easiest way to Letterpress with the Go Press & Foil Machine - Don't turn your machine on, put your hotfoil stamp on the grey platform face up, then cardstock, close the lid and then run the platform through your die cutting machine. Depending on your die cutting machine, you may need a cardboard shim or two on top of the closed lid. You will end up with an emboss design from your hotfoil stamp into your cardstock. Hope this helps. Thanks.
I think I meant { forgive my brain or memory.... :-) } : what is 'letterpressing' ? Is it the actual "indentation" of 1) letters or 2) numbers into the material used? 1 and 2 rather than scenes or figures of people or animals. I hope I haven't confused, I am just going off the word: LETTERpressing to make my point/question :-).
I'm getting really confused: the foil machine directions booklet seemed so easy to start with. Then I watched this video and picked up at 7.18 the necessity for 2 metal plates. One only came with the Die Cut machine (and I don't remember it being mentioned for use with the Foil machine) but none with the Foil machine itself. I am either going to have to take notes for each procedure or run the risk of damaging that plastic cover. Help please :-).
Hi Angie, Since the introduction of the Go Press & Foil Machine there have been many new ways to use this awesome little machine. There are two different metal shim that can be used with the Go Press & Foil Machine. 1. Metal Adapter Mat - CO725578 This is a fairly thin mat and is used when foiling chipboard or your embossing folder. 2. Metal Conversion Plate - CO726232. This is a very thick metal plate that is used in conjunction with the Cut, Foil & Emboss dies and the Go Press & Foil machine. The Metal Adapter Mat is the same thickness as a metal shim used in your die cutting machine ( I keep one just for my Go Press & Foil machine as the flatter the mat the better results). We have also released a cheat sheet for the sandwich setup of the Go Press & Foil machine which is available on our facebook page or contacting us via email salesteam@couturecreations.com.au Hope this helps. Enjoy your foiling!

Thanks so much! It will be helpful to see more info than the booklet that came with the Go Press (the cutting machine) as opposed to the foiling booklet. This is the beauty of the internet because if new or revised info is to hand, this is how it can get distributed.
Thank you so much for this video, I got mine last week and haven't really done much as I wasn't sure about things. You have made it very clear in this video. I did a little bit yesterday and have got foil on my plastic cover is there any way to clean it please. Hugs xx Wendy
Hi, There are hotfoil stamps (sentiments and images), cut, foil & emboss dies available to purchase which are heated up using the GoPress & Foil machine to enable the image to be foiled. Hope this helps.
How do you measure & ensure accurate placement of the foiled image ? None of the examples seemed to be concerned with this as you can't actually see where it's going to foil ......... looks like fun though !
Hi Georgina, there are grid lines on the bottom part of the platform that has grid lines on it to assist with centring and placement for your hotfoil stamps/dies etc.
Hi Maria, The foil is placed shiny side down. The setup should be the following placed on the grey heating pad. Metal Shim/Foil-shiny side down/Cardstock/Cpened embossing folder facing down. Thank you.
Hi Bernice, When using a normal die to foil with there is not enough pressure for the die to cut. You will have a nice foiled image of the highest edge which will be the cutting edge. Thank you.
I have ordered mine but I would like to know more about foils and dies, and as Sheila asked - can we use other brands of foil as I have several foiling machines and they all use one type of foil...
Hi Ann, Yes you can use your Big Shot with the Go Press & Foil machine. You may need an extra shim or two on top of your closed foil platform when you run it through your big shot (pieces of thick cardstock). Happy Crafting.
I have ordered this machine but am curious as to why the corners of the foil need to be cut. Why? I have plans to use the used foil, but it would be better if the corners were preserved. Thanks!
Hi Linda, cutting the corners just assists in ensuring a cleaner foil but I haven't had any real issues when I didn't cut the corner. You do not have to cut the corners and I do not always cut them, like you, I like to keep the excess and leftover for other projects.
Thank you, Anita! I'm expecting my GoPress Machine, dies and foils to arrive by the middle or late in Sept and I really look forward to playing with them. I was introduced to it through SMS (Scrapbooking Made Simple) and I'm so glad the wait for it to get through Customs and to SMS for delivery to me is about to end. I'll definitely be experimenting with making things from the used foils, just to see if not cutting the corners will cause any issues. Thanks again!
Hi Ashley, Our foil is heat activated not toner activated. If you use a toner activated product along with the toner activated foil you are then able to use the Go Press & Foil machine with the normal instructions to foil your product. Thanks
If you use this foil with the minc the heat makes it stick everywhere... Embarrassingly I tried this with my first video with the minc. I have regrets haha. Wish I'd just got this one instead in think! Just ordered a go press and foil though so am super excited!
Hi Sue! We haven't tested it with the Gemini, so it may be best to see if you can take your machine into a local store once the GoPress and Foil is in stock and test first. The GoPress and Foil Heating Platform does fit through similar machines.
Hi Shirley, THe heating platform of the Go Press & Foil machine is approx 15cm wide and just over 2cm in height. What brand of die cutting machine do you have? Thanks
you stated that the clear plate/lid is removable, but mine is not, I put the shim inside like you did and it has made impressions in that plate. Is it possible for me to get a new clear lid.
Hi Jocelyn, The clear lid clips off at the top and they are also available to purchase separately. The lid of the Go PRess & Foil machine will mark, bend and warp overtime. Hope this helps.
Is the B plate the same as the B plate for the Cuttlebug or will I need to get one that is specific to the GoCut & Emboss machine? Also, will any metal shim work? Are the associated stamps available today...if yes, where? Thanks much!
Hi Liz, Sorry I am not familiar with the sizing of that machine. The platform of the Go Press & Foil machine is 15cm wide and approx just over 2cm high. Hope this helps. Thanks
Hi Susan.... here is a link for you which will give you some instructions. www.couturecreations.com.au/gopress-foil-machine/ The metal shim is perfect to use when heat foiling wood veneers and chipboard. It generates more heat for you.
I tried the Minc foil and the Deco Foils with your machine. They do not adhere to the paper. I've let it heat for at least 5 minutes on the hot plate; sometimes I tried to heat the metal shim in addition. I've also turned the foil the opposite way just to see if it would do anything. I have had no luck with the Minc and Deco Foils. Your website says it uses Minc foils, but I have that it is not the case.. do you have any other recommendations
copicqwn I don't believe Minc foils and deco foils are heat activated foils. With the minc, you'd think they were as the Minc machine (and laminators) use heat, but that is to 'melt' the adhesive or toner (which is really acting as an adhesive!). I found this art deco foil available online through several places and it's not expensive, but also any type of HEAT activated foil will work. Hope this is helpful! KateCreated
I have just received a GoPress and Foil machine and it will not go through my Craftwell Cut'n'Boss electric machine. Sandwiched between two A plates it will not go through, it is too thick. You say acrylic lid can be removed, so how does it come off?
Hi Kiraneries, the GoPress and Foil base plate should be on the bottom followed by 2 x A plates and 1 x B plate on top. Do you have an email where I can send through an image of how it should work?
Hi, I have worked it out and had some good results. For my UK model Craftwell Cut n Boss it is the GoPress with a shim of 100 gsm paper then the plastic B plate. Your suggested sandwich is much too thick to go through.
Hi Linda! The conversion plate is thicker than the normal metal shim and is used mainly to add the correct thickness for the pressure required for the heating platform of the GoPress and Foil for this purpose.
Hi Ruth, There are two different metal shims available for separate purchase at our retailers. 1. Metal Conversion Plate (CO725818( is a thick metal plate used in con-junction with Cut, Foil & Emboss Dies or now renamed Cut & Create Dies. 2. Metal Shim - (CO725578) - This is a thinner metal shim that is used when foiling embossing folders and chipboard. Please let us know your location via email and we can then point you in the direction of a retailer. Happy Crafting
I’m using the big. Shot machine with this and can’t get the right pressure with shims or Card stock. It’s not giving an equal coverage. It heats up as it should what am I doing wrong?
Couture Creations Thank you for your reply so quickly. It’s a new machine. I’ve tried many pieces of Card and wonder now if I have damaged the plate. How could I tell?
all of the die cutting machines you have shown are manual, I have an electronic cut n boss, it has a wide enough mouth to take the Sizzix blade type dies, will it work on the foil machine please?
Hi Mary, the machine will work with the Cut n Boss machine. The GoPress and Foil platform is narrower. You just need to place the platform on the bottom followed by 2 x A plates and then a B plate on the top to activate the rollers on your machine. I hope this helps.
I am seriously thinking about getting this, my question is can it foil die cuts that have already been cut as ive got a scan n cut and got lots of sentiments that would look lovely foiled
Hi Debbie, Yes you can foil die cuts but you will need a few positioned together on top on each other to create a little bit of height, and then foil normally as if it were chipboard. Thanks
I have the laminator foil, just brought a ton of it. Can it be used with this and i have a Gemini and a small cuttlebug and a siss x bigshot . Will it go through any of these please and I don't suppose you can give me an idea of the price . Thank you
Hi Tina, If you use a toner activated product along with toner activated foil the Go Press & Foil machine will produce enough heat as long as your project your trying to foil is thin enough to fit in your die cutting machine. The Go Press & Foil machine works really well with our heat activated foil and our metal hot foil stamps. The Go Press & Foil machine will work with a Cuttlebug and Bigshot as well as our diecutting machine Cut n Go Pro or the Go Cut & Emboss machine. Hope this helps. Thanks
Hi Debi! The GoPress and Foil machine will be available from HSN in the US very soon - follow us on Facebook for more: facebook.com/AnnaGriffinInc/photos/a.191554031892.128233.107263956892/10154903904461893/?type=3&hc_ref=PAGES_TIMELINE
I have tried using plain cardstock die cut doily with a metal shim and I can't get a good coverage of foil. Do I have to use rough cardstock or do I have to roughen the card stock to get it to stick?
Hi Lorna, You may need to bond several images of the die cut together to get a good height and then be able to foil the image. I do find smooth cardstock does work a little better as you good a good coverage of the foil. Please email us at salesteam@couturecreations.com.au if you have any further problems. Thanks.
Hi, I've just foiled my stamp by mistake... is that going to ruin it cos I've just tried it again and it's not foiling the card very well now... sob :0(
Hi, If you have accidently foiled your metal hotfoil stamp it won't effect the stamp at all. If you are concerned try cleaning your metal stamp with turps and then giving it a thorough clean with soap and water. Hope this helps. Thanks
Hi Debbie, to get the best result we have 70 different colours of heat activated foil to use along with our hot foil stamps. The machines are also available to purchase in the UK. If you would like a copy of all the foils available please send an email to salesteam@couturecreations.com.au Thanks

Hi Patricia, The stamps are not a normal acrylic or rubber stamps that you stamp with. The best way to describe the die is they are similar to a die without the cutting edge.
Hi Vicki, If you search our blog with Go Press & Foil there are lots of ideas with close up photos. The blog link is: couturecreationsaus.blogspot.com.au Happy Crafting.
Hi Sonal, As long as you are using a toner activated product along with the toner activated foil together. If you are trying to use toner activated foil with a hot foil stamp you won't get a good result as the hot foil stamps need heat activated foil to get the best result.
Hi Cindy, The GoPress and Foil will work alongside many popular embossing machines on the market today - your machine just needs to have an aperture that is large enough to accept our heating platform
Hi Cindy, The GoPress and Foil will work alongside many popular embossing machines on the market today - your machine just needs to have an aperture that is large enough to accept our heating platform
Hi Candace yes, you can use a separate metal shim with the GoPress and Foil Machine. You do need to purchase this separately but if you already have one for your diecutting machine you can just use the one you have unless it is warped you really need it to be flat otherwise you won't get a good clean foiling You only need the metal shim when you are foiling chipboard and with embossing folders - not when using the hot foil stamps or thin metal dies.
Hi Dianne, The GoPress & Foil Machine works differently and heats up, and combined hot foils stamps or Cut & Create dies and your die cutting machine creates a beautiful elegent foiled finish to your project.
Best video, finally a person that takes a breath between sentences.
I have found your tutorial the best one to watch so far. You explain everything clearly and it’s easy to understand. Thank you.

Sophia Schell I've found the foil impression dies on eBay, as well as online several places!
Great video. Do you know if the GoPress will work with the We R Memory Keepers Evolution machine?
Hi Liz, Sorry I am not familiar with the sizing of that machine. The platform of the Go Press & Foil machine is 15cm wide and approx just over 2cm high. Hope this helps. Thanks
appears you could use as stamp positioner as well
definitely works as a stamp positioner :)
Are there instructions for when to use the metal plate.
Hi Susan.... here is a link for you which will give you some instructions.
www.couturecreations.com.au/gopress-foil-machine/
The metal shim is perfect to use when heat foiling wood veneers and chipboard. It generates more heat for you.
hello there great product, question is that double side tape or heat bond tape? tfs
Hi RJ
Die Cut'n Bond creates paper thin double sided adhesive sheets, similar to jac paper

Can you use other brands of foil as well?
Hi Sheila!
Other heat activated foils should work, may just need to experiment a little with timing and pressure to get the same results
That's excellent. Thank you for letting us know. Enjoy your new machine.
Is the metal conversion plate used for the samr techniques as the metal shim, or are they different?
Hi Linda! The conversion plate is thicker than the normal metal shim and is used mainly to add the correct thickness for the pressure required for the heating platform of the GoPress and Foil for this purpose.
@@CoutureCreations Do you have any videos showing it being used?
Hi Linda, I have attached a video link here for you. Many thanks blog.couturecreations.com.au/joanne-hedges/foiled-steampunk-cards-with-joanne/
I have a GoPress and Foil machine, but it didn't come with a metal shim. Where can I get one?
Hi Ruth,
There are two different metal shims available for separate purchase at our retailers.

@@CoutureCreations Hi I live in Carthage MO. Thanks for your response.
Hi Ruth, You could try Scrapbooking Made Simple. Thanks
I’m using the big. Shot machine with this and can’t get the right pressure with shims or Card stock. It’s not giving an equal coverage. It heats up as it should what am I doing wrong?
Hi Susan. You will need to play with the shims. Maybe add an extra sheet of card as a shim etc. Are you plates more worn out in some areas?.
Couture Creations
Thank you for your reply so quickly.
And finally at 11.06 what was the point of the ...Bond material?
Thanks
Will this be available in the US ? thanks....hope so. Also will the bond adhesive be available in the US ?
Debi Lowery found on HSN tonight
I have tried using plain cardstock die cut doily with a metal shim and I can't get a good coverage of foil. Do I have to use rough cardstock or do I have to roughen the card stock to get it to stick?
Hi Lorna, You may need to bond several images of the die cut together to get a good height and then be able to foil the image. I do find smooth cardstock does work a little better as you good a good coverage of the foil. Please email us at salesteam@couturecreations.com.au if you have any further problems. Thanks.
Will this work with the Big Shot?
Hi Tara, Yes the Go Press & Foil machine will work with the Big Shot.
Hi, can you tell me what the embossing folder is that you have used for this video please...
My new Go Press and foil does not go through my grand calubur
Hi Ann, Could you please contact us via salesteam@couturecreations.com.au Thank you
Hi, I've just foiled my stamp by mistake... is that going to ruin it cos I've just tried it again and it's not foiling the card very well now... sob :0(
Hi, If you have accidently foiled your metal hotfoil stamp it won't effect the stamp at all. If you are concerned try cleaning your metal stamp with turps and then giving it a thorough clean with soap and water. Hope this helps. Thanks
Just come across this - can you use any foil with this machine ? and does it work in the UK ?
Hi Debbie, to get the best result we have 70 different colours of heat activated foil to use along with our hot foil stamps. The machines are also available to purchase in the UK. If you would like a copy of all the foils available please send an email to salesteam@couturecreations.com.au Thanks
What cuttlebug machine do I need for this foil machine please I have a grand calibur but will not take the plate.
Hi Blossom, any Cuttlebug machine will take the GoPress and Foil platform. Unfortunately it will not work in the Grand Calibur.
I own a Go Press foiling machine , can you tell me where I can buy a metal shim in the U.S.?
Hi Judy, try A Cherry on Top. They should be able to assist.
Mine didn’t come w/ a metal plate/shim
Hi, The metal plates/shim are sold separately. Thanks and Happy Crafting.
how do you replace the lid with the new gridded lid, would you make a video?
Hi Jocelyn, This lid for the Go PRess 7 Foil clips on and off at the top. Would love to see your crafting project. Feel free to share them with us. Thanks

Can you use any stamps, or do they have to be the new type?
Hi Patricia,
The stamps are not a normal acrylic or rubber stamps that you stamp with. The best way to describe the die is they are similar to a die without the cutting edge.
Does the foil transfer flat or does it come out debossed/embossed?
Hi Beverley it will come out flat.
will this plate go thru the cuttlebug machine??????
Absolutely! Our Heating Platform is compatible with most popular machines provided the they have an aperture of 6 inches or over
thanks
Can I use my big shot plus machine
yes you can use your big shot machine to pass through the platform of the GoPress and Foil machine
When did this machine come out?
Hi! Can we use regular sizzix thinlit dies in the go press & foil machine? Thank you
Hi Vikki,
Yes you can use regular dies but you will only get the thin cutting line foiled.
Couture Creations thanks for getting back to me. Don’t suppose you’ve done a detailed tutorial??? May thanks. Love your videos. :-)
Hi Vicki, If you search our blog with Go Press & Foil there are lots of ideas with close up photos. The blog link is: couturecreationsaus.blogspot.com.au Happy Crafting.
It was mentioned on hsn as well on your website toner reactive foils can also be used so far I have no luck can anyone explain please
Heat reactive foils are required with the machine.
Hi Sonal, As long as you are using a toner activated product along with the toner activated foil together. If you are trying to use toner activated foil with a hot foil stamp you won't get a good result as the hot foil stamps need heat activated foil to get the best result.
The metal shim does not come with the machine
Can it go through my gran calibur?
Hi Benedicte, sorry I don't believe the Grand Calibur has enough height for the platform to go through. Thanks
Can you use it with any other machine.
Hi Cindy,
The GoPress and Foil will work alongside many popular embossing machines on the market today - your machine just needs to have an aperture that is large enough to accept our heating platform

do you need a separate metal shim?
Hi Candace
yes, you can use a separate metal shim with the GoPress and Foil Machine.
You do need to purchase this separately but if you already have one for your diecutting machine you can just use the one you have unless it is warped you really need it to be flat otherwise you won't get a good clean foiling
You only need the metal shim when you are foiling chipboard and with embossing folders - not when using the hot foil stamps or thin metal dies.
Can I use my Spellbinders Platinum cut and emboss machine with GoPress and Foil Machine?
Hi Cheryl, yes the GoPress and Foil will work with your Spellbinders Platinum.
@CoutureCreations Hi Cheryl, what about my Spellbinders Grand Calibur?
where can I buy the metal plate?
Vicky Michot I've seen them on eBay, and I think online at A Cherry on Top. I need one too!
Thank you Kathleen Mills, I will take a look!
I don't know why anyone would have any other type of foiling device if they already have a die cutting machine!!!!!
Hi Dianne, The GoPress & Foil Machine works differently and heats up, and combined hot foils stamps or Cut & Create dies and your die cutting machine creates a beautiful elegent foiled finish to your project.
