I ordered my machine and it was supposed to come a week ago. Unfortunately, Hurricane Irma decided to show up instead. I'm glad it wasn't here because I didn't have any electricity and would have been even more frustrated than I was with no lights or AC. Now, it looks like it will arrive Monday. I can't wait to play with it. I didn't know I could use my embossing folders. I am so excited to try that.
THANKS SO MUCH!!! It helps to know we can use our embossing folders and metal dies with this machine since I was asking myself why did I buy this foil machine. NOW I KNOW WHY!!! :)
Lesley, you are fabulous! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I ordered my machine today, but was not in time to get the stamp bundle offered by HSN. You have thrilled me with your demonstration with the embossing folder... I have so many from various companies; I certainly can substitute them until the metal stamps are back in stock. Bless your heart! (Y)
Wow I love it, especially as you can use your existing dies and embossing folders (Swiss dots has always been my favourite). Great video Lesley, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for a great video...does the machine need to be turned off and back on between uses...or just press the go button again ...or just leave for a few minutes to re heat...does the light always need to be green for the foil to work ?
Hi Ellie. You can use it continually, but it will turn itself off after a while if not used. It's a safety mechanism. As for the green light, I'm not 100% sure. This was the first version of the machine and I know recent versions have had some upgrades also.
Thank you. This is a very positive video of the machine. I have seen some really negative ones, where it doesn't seem to get as nice of coverage as you have been getting.
Gail Gale hi gail. i only had the machine for a few days but never really had any issues with it. with most things you get used to how many shims it needs, how long to leave it to heat up etc.
Hi there, Lesley, I have just received my Go Press and foil machine thinking it would work with my Grand Calibur and Gemini but the plate won`t go through, could you tell me what cuttle bug machine would work with it please.
Thanks for the demonstration of how this works. How do you replace the top cutting plate like you would on a BigShot (when it warps/has been cut through too many times)? Does it come off or do you have to replace the whole heating pad part that you remove and put in your die cutting machine?
There is a replacement plate now but usually you would not need it as it doesn't warp as you are not cutting into the plate, and has the base etc. but it is available
Cindy D hi there not at all a silly question, I was asked plenty of times at the show and should have mentioned in the video perhaps. this machine works because of the mixture of heat and pressure, so you need the pressure of the rollers in a manual die cutting machine. the electronic ones would not work as they don't have the rollers for applying pressure. x
Hey there. It has only being revealed to the wholesale buyers recently, so i doubt it is in any shops yet - i believe it will be available around the end of March, and will be around the £100 mark. x
Is the B plate the same as the B plate for the Cuttlebug or will I need to get one that is specific to the GoCut & Emboss machine? Also, will any metal shim work? Are the associated stamps available today...if yes, where? Thanks much!
Sophia Schell the b plate for all machines should work I believe. the metal shim comes with the machine but as long as it's a metal that conducts heat, I don't see why they wouldn't work. the stamps aren't available yet, but coming this month
noooo....I watched this video to convince myself that my minc machine is good enough, but it looks like it's not. Now I have to decide if I "have" to have this. If I die cut some thin chipboard can I still get the full coverage look like you got with those thick chipboard pieces?
IntoxicatingArts I know. Sorry for enabling. lol. Yes I believe that would work - you might need some cardboard shims to make sure there is enough pressure. when I get my machine I will try a large thin chipboard die-cut! so exciting!
That machine is pretty cool! have you tried using a die cut to foil instead of their metal foiling die? I was just wondering because you can foil a chipboard piece and you can foil using an embossing folder so it seems that you would not have to buy the metal foiling dies. have you tired using a stamp to foil with? I know rubber stamps can take a lot of heat but im not sure about the photo polymer stamps but it would be awesome if you could foil using stamps? so it doesn't look like it would be a good idea to use a piece of tape to make sure your pieces are not moving around so how are you lining up your sentiments and making sure they don't move?
Angela Restad hey there. Yes I used a metal die to foil- but the thing to consider is that the foil will only foil along the cutting edge (see the hooray card at 4.23). I didn't get a chance to try an unmounted or clear stamp. I wasn't sure if it would give a firm impression as the rubber/photopolymer will give a little, but perhaps a few paper shims might do the trick.
That would be awesome because using stamps to foil with would be so cool and you could color in an image and foil around it if you could foil with stamps. what about lining things up it doesn't look that easy and there is nothing to hold everything in place to keep it all lined up.
Angela Restad the first time I foiled on ribbon it turned out all crooked but then I realised that there are grid lines on the black heat panel. it is a bit trickier as the foil stamp goes down first then the foil covers that, but if you use the grid lines to keep it straight then it's much easier. like anything, the more practise the easier it becomes :-)
its just seams like it would be difficult because you cant put a piece of tape on it to hold it in place.....lol Thank you for answering all of my questions and I love watching your videos, You are such an inspiration to me and so many people!!
is there an alphabet embossing stamp. I want to personalise with a name ? If that is possible could you do a video on this so we can see ? Great video by the way.
Sandy Christman Scrapbooking Made Simple has it for $124.99 until May 12th and it comes with 4 sentiment dies, 2 rolls of foil and the magnetic tweezers. The only thing is if you buy it during their National Scrapbooking sale (May 6th&7th) it probably won't ship until the fall otherwise their shipping is around 30 days.
stamp edges can be very sharp cut my fingers be careful with them. They do have some improvements to make to this machine you cant use Heidi swapp minc foil as they were maketing it couture creations hot foil is suposed to work well. you do have to play with it had trouble getting full stamped image with bigger stamps definitely need shims..
Berry SweetMty hi there. minc foil yes definitely. deco foil I am 90% sure. there are apparently two main types of foil- toner activated and heat activated - both work with the machine. however one gentleman at the Stitches Show said that some heat activated foils are activated at different temperatures. the machine gets to 90 degrees so if you know the activation temperature of the decofoils you may be able to figure out if the machine is hot enough. xx
What if you have an electric cutting machine.......you can’t regulate speed ? What brand name is the machine you are demo-ing here ? Can you use any type of foil ?
Judy Donnelly if you mean Abigail shot pro or vagabond, this would still work but you might want to run it through twice. If you mean an electronic machine like a silhouette cameo or scan n cut, these won't work as they don't apply pressure. As for foils, there are many many foils which are designed to work at different temperatures, but most will work in the machine. I don't tried loads and they all have worked so far.
Sue J i use a little Washi tape to position it. It also helps a lot of you trim the foil to be just slightly larger than the die/ hot foil stamp. I found it harder at the start, but as with most things it got easier with practice. XXX
hi Sonal. you just use them instead of the ones that come with the machine. i haven't got my machine yet but when i do i wll give it a go if i can get my hands on minc foil. this machine was a demo machine that i had to give back.
Fi Gilhooly hi Fi. I got this machine before it was released for sale, just to test. It turns out the shim is not included I'm afraid. I think they said that in the future they may bundle it in. Sorry that my video states that it's included
the company that makes the machine offers 22 types of heat activated foil and 22 types of toner activated foil - both work with this machine. Someone at the show yesterday said that they had some industrial foil at home which only activated at 130degrees - i don't think that would work as this machine only gets up to 90 degrees. But as far as I am aware, most craft foil will work with this machine. x
I ordered my machine and it was supposed to come a week ago. Unfortunately, Hurricane Irma decided to show up instead. I'm glad it wasn't here because I didn't have any electricity and would have been even more frustrated than I was with no lights or AC.

Can't wait to get mine and sending the details to my daughter in France. Thank you Lesley Oman lovely demo!
Margaret Ross thanks for watching. :-)

Your video is informative, concise, and helpful. Thank you for taking the time to create and share this video.
Wow I love it, especially as you can use your existing dies and embossing folders (Swiss dots has always been my favourite). Great video Lesley, thanks for sharing.
rDinx yay!! Swiss dots was my first embossing folder and still my most fave!! :-)
Thank you for the demo. Great info prior to purchase!
I love it with the embossing folders
Very nice. Looks like I might have to get one of those. Love the embossing folder idea.
Very nice! I want one. ☺️ I loved with embossing folders
You got your machine very early. I just got mine and love it. Your video was very helpful.
The best video I have yet seen. especially the first part.
This is so amazing, I love this industry!
It is so fun! You will love it! I love that it can be mixed with your embossing folders and dies! think of the possibilities!
Thank you so much for all of the info.
Oooooyaaaaaaa that’s super cool. Thank you
hi, I am curious to know.... can you get your own hot foil stamps made, like your own personal logo or can you only buy pre made stamps?
I love this machine and ordered it on HSN, but where can we get more foil stamps?
Thanks for the informative video.
Sorry for all the questions lesley. Is the Cut and Emboss a newer version of the Cut'n Go Pro Machine?
Thanks for a great video...does the machine need to be turned off and back on between uses...or just press the go button again ...or just leave for a few minutes to re heat...does the light always need to be green for the foil to work ?

@@hungryheffy thank you for your reply..it seams i had a small issue which since been fixed.
is the cut and emboss basically the same as the Cut'n go Pro machine ?
I never heard of this until now. Sept. 2018. Pretty neat. Seen it on a scrapbooking e-mail I get.
Thank you. This is a very positive video of the machine. I have seen some really negative ones, where it doesn't seem to get as nice of coverage as you have been getting.

Wow this is amazing! With other foiling machines you need a laser printer, which I do not have. So this is a great alternative :)
This foiling plat machine is neat. When and where will it or is already available for purchase?
Eva Beck I believe it will be available at the end of March! so exciting!
Hope this is not a silly question but would this work with the Cut N' Boss Machine or any electrical embossing machine?
Cindy D hi there
not at all a silly question, I was asked plenty of times at the show and should have mentioned in the video perhaps. this machine works because of the mixture of heat and pressure, so you need the pressure of the rollers in a manual die cutting machine. the electronic ones would not work as they don't have the rollers for applying pressure. x
Can you show us how you foil with the embossing folder? TFS xx
Will this fit through the Cuttlebug???
Great machine. Thanks for the reveal. Is it available now? If not when? And of course, how much $?
Hey there. It has only being revealed to the wholesale buyers recently, so i doubt it is in any shops yet - i believe it will be available around the end of March, and will be around the £100 mark. x
Sue at ForYoubySue on hsn tonight

Looks great!
Thanks for the great video, a lot of great information.
Is the GoPress & Foil compatible with the electronic machines?
Great Tutorial
The metal shim you used where can I buy it? Is come only with the cut and emboss machine, but I bought the press and foil.
virhil61 the metal shim comes with the gopress and foil machine as well
Oh dear, I want and need that machine...more expense lol! Tfs
Rachel Jolley I know!! this craft hobby uses up all my pennies!
Oh my ! these magnetic tweezers... nice !
I KNOW! so many people fell in love with them,... especially the men - they were very impressed! haha
Lesley Oman 😂🤣That's probably a good feeling ! 👍

When will this be available in USA & at what price point?

does the image have to be embossed for the foil to stick.
no, not at all. the 'sandwich' described will only create a smooth foil, if you want it to debossed, then you can add the metal shim. x
Hi Lesley. Does it work with Minc or Deco foil?
Berry SweetMty hi there. minc foil yes definitely. deco foil I am 90% sure. there are apparently two main types of foil- toner activated and heat activated - both work with the machine. however one gentleman at the Stitches Show said that some heat activated foils are activated at different temperatures. the machine gets to 90 degrees so if you know the activation temperature of the decofoils you may be able to figure out if the machine is hot enough. xx

The OCD in me would like to know...how do you centre it on shapes when you're working upside down?
Sue J i use a little Washi tape to position it. It also helps a lot of you trim the foil to be just slightly larger than the die/ hot foil stamp. I found it harder at the start, but as with most things it got easier with practice. XXX
Ah ha! Great advice. Thank you ;-)
Thank you
Mine didn’t include a metal shim!
Where can purchase the metal shim?
Tina Miller hi there. Try craftsulove.co.uk
Xx
I like to buy this machine but I only got a cuttlebug and the crafter companion embosser cut and emboss machine please can you replay
How do you use minc reactive foils with this machine ? I have had no luck so far
hi Sonal. you just use them instead of the ones that come with the machine. i haven't got my machine yet but when i do i wll give it a go if i can get my hands on minc foil. this machine was a demo machine that i had to give back.
Lesley Oman. hi lesly i tried minc foils and it does not work in this machine
I didn’t get the metal shim with mine. 😢😢
Fi Gilhooly hi Fi. I got this machine before it was released for sale, just to test. It turns out the shim is not included I'm afraid. I think they said that in the future they may bundle it in. Sorry that my video states that it's included
Do you have to use a specific foil or will any foil work?
the company that makes the machine offers 22 types of heat activated foil and 22 types of toner activated foil - both work with this machine. Someone at the show yesterday said that they had some industrial foil at home which only activated at 130degrees - i don't think that would work as this machine only gets up to 90 degrees. Does work white TODO dies? Thank you.
virhil61 I didn't have any todo dies to show you in the video, but yes. they will work. x
I think for small projects is good but If I got to do like 250 cards like this 😭😭😭
How to make Foil machine block
Metal shim is not included!
I can see a problem right away. I wouldn't be able to line up my saying as it is covered up but that's me.
It does not look easy to centralise the stamp , the red paper is off centre , this would frustrate me.
