    I love the look of the Ultra flex but I will say I am waiting on my 3rd one to come in and be re-installed. I really liked the carpeted underside but it is not a nice feature when it becomes completely waterlogged. I have had two of these in the last three months that leak from the panel seems and the panels become saturated with water. The company has been great about sending a replacement hopefully 3rd times a charm. If not I will ask for a refund and replace with an MX4. My MX4 on my last Ram had zero issues.

    I’ve owned both, my take the ultra flex is, well complete garbage. The side seals never lay flat, the tail gate seal unseats when tail gate is closed. Warranty was, well that happens not much you can do about it. We had zero issues with the mx4. So if you want a cover your going to be able to like as well as use get the mx4.

      Thank you for your input @kbc74747. We've sold literally thousands of Flex and Ultra-Flex tonneau covers. Typically the issue with side seals not laying flat is due to not enough warm weather where the rubber can relax. Given some warm weather the seals will flatten out. As far as the tail gate seal goes, we've seen this before due to an improper installation. Typically if a customer brings this by our shop, we can make the quick necessary adjustments and have you on your way.

    I prefer the MX4 because allowing it to rest against the back of the cab gives maximum cargo space. The foam strips do a good job protecting the paint

    I can't think of why I would ever need carpeted insulation in my truck bed. Especially considering that any tonneau cover will leak at some point. Also, where is the comparison?

    No good! We used to stock these flex units. Wayyyy to much trouble with them. We install alot of the Mx4 units and rarely have problems with them.
    It is a 5 yr warranty..

      Thank you Victor. We want to be sure we're talking about the same product here. We're reviewing the Ultra-Flex, not the Flex. Also, since the video was shot, Bak does appear to have upgraded it's warranty to compete with the Ultra-Flex. However the Bak Mx4 still does not offer LED lighting or carpeted under panels. How long ago did you stock the Ultra-Flex and what problems have you had with it?

    I saw that the cover shows scratches easily. Also, if you have to carry something in the box in the rain, the carpet would get wet.

  • @videtosk

    Too bad these leak like crazy. After it rains and you lift the panels into the vertical position get ready for a rain storm in the bed of your truck.

    • @titantruckspokane
      @titantruckspokane  3 года назад

      Thank you @Steve V. The vast majority of folding covers on the market operate the same way and therefore shed water in the same fashion. We have not experienced the issue you described due to the channeled rails that capture the water and reroute it out of your bed (a feature present on both the MX4 and Ultra Flex). However if you’re looking for a different style cover where you may not experience this issue we’d recommend looking at an Undercover Elite or SE. These are one-piece hinged covers that close over the bed rails.

      Thanks Omar - the rack system is the Truxedo Elevate. Unfortunately that rack has been recalled and Truxedo is to re-introduce. If you're looking for a rack to go with your Undercover Ultra-Flex, one option is the Adarac by Access Covers. A shipment just landed here at Titan, so we have good inventory. It will be added to our site in the next 2-3 days. You can also call (855) 607- 6390 and ask for Kevin, Trey, David or Michael and they can get you hooked up. Jason

    Do the light strips come with every ultra flex? I just bought one that didn’t have them and now I’m thinking of calling the retailer I bought it from to ask about them.

    • @titantruckspokane
      @titantruckspokane  3 года назад

      Weston, every Ultra-Flex manufactured today comes with the integrated bed rail LED light strip. If the retailer was selling through old inventory of the Ultra-Flex, it may not have been packaged with it. The retailer should be able to supply you with the light strip, as that is a common LED strip for other Truck Hero truck bed covers as well. Here's a link to the Undercover Ultra-Flex on our site for info - www.titantruck.com/i-94005-undercover-ultra-flex-tonneau-cover-ux82000.html. Hope that helps! Jason

    Save your money this expensive cover is terrible. I had to completely rebuild mine in 2 years,. The prop rods failed, the latches are held on with very small screws that pulled out. And all the seals failed. This cover leaked like crazy on my Tundra. The included light kit was junk.

    How well do these covers work with ice and cold? (think Wisconsin cold rather than Washington cold)

    • @jasoncyates6804
      @jasoncyates6804 4 года назад +2

      Hi Gibber 1 - good question. Titan Truck has sold the Ultra-Flex to the coldest and wettest parts of the US. We've had zero complaints due to winter weather conditions. Since most of the components are aluminum, frozen / breaking plastic isn't an issue. Also, the Ultra-flex is built to divert water that does happen to make it past the seals, channeling it out of the bed. Another feature is the quality of the rubber stripping between the panels. And though it is aluminum it is re-inforced. So if you had some snow / ice build-up on your cover and went to open it, typically a moderate amount of snow and thin ice will break up, allowing you to brush it off to the side. Please note that NO tonneau cover manufacturer recommends letting snow and ice build up. However, we know it happens. Will it hold up to 48" of wet snow or 6" of solid ice without being cleared? I wouldn't recommend that for any tonneau cover. Hope that helps. Jason

    Can this tunneau cover be installed with sport bars on bed ?

    • @titantruckspokane
      @titantruckspokane  3 года назад

      Hi Alex, unfortunately, it is not designed to install on a bed with sport bars. The nature of the cover is that it mounts flush on top of the bed rails and extends the length of the bed. The only way you could try to mount this with sport bars is to compromise the length of the tonneau cover and thereby your water seal, functionality and even structural integrity. Not recommended. Hope that helps. Jason
