I have a Peragon on my Silverado since 2020. Its just okay, the biggest issue I have is packing my truck bed full to go on a family trip. With it all the way open in the forward position folded up you can't pack stuff up against the cover when its folded because when you go to pull the cover closed it will jam up against the stuff you have packed in the bed. So if you want to pack your bed fully you have to pack your bed with the cover closed so then you have to use something like a stick or broom handle to push your stuff all the way forward toward the cab. And if the cover is closed it makes it hard to stack items in your bed like luggage, bags lawn chairs fishing gear etc because you can't reach that far forward to stack items. Then when you get to where your going to unpack your truck, you can't open your cover because it won't fold forward because of all the stuff you have in your bed and the stuff that's packed all the way forward won't allow the cover to fold open because the cover folds inward in a downward position and all your stuff in the bed won't allow it to fold open. Hope all that makes sense, its just something I didn't think of when I bought the cover. But it's a reason why I am considering replacing mine with something else that folds upward and not inward like the Peragon. We always use my truck for family trips and packing and unpacking the bed is an issue with that cover.
Thanks for the feedback. I have only seen videos of people opening and closing this system with an empty bed. Anyone ever thought about installing the peragon system upside down? Would that even work?
that was a main reason why I just bought the bak revolver x4s hard rolling truck bed tonneau cover. super secure, and you dont have to climb into the covered bed to get items out from the far side of the bed. Just unlock the tail gate and roll it up.
This is a great reply-and one Peragon definitely won’t acknowledge, lol. They tried reinventing the wheel here to stand out from the competition. Sometimes ideas just aren’t that great and I think this is one. Your points regarding packed bed and can’t open is just why this cover IS A BAD CONCEPT. It just seems flimsy like a cheap file cabinet when it’s collapsed too, haha. Great reply and thanks for sharing. Leaning towards the BAK myself.
I’ve had mine for about 2-3 years. It fits my needs perfectly. It’s not water tight but I understood that going in. Yes it’s a pain when things slide too far forward but a simple ratcheting load bar across the bed takes care of that. I keep things in Rubbermaid totes to mitigate any moisture issues. It’s not perfect but no bed cover is. The fact that I can completely remove the cover in less than a minute and the security that it offers were the main selling points for me. A little creativity goes a long way when it comes to getting the most out of a tool.
I've had one of these for about 6 months on my Silverado. In normal rain it's fairly water tight. I do love the look of it and that was a good honest review video. I took a tri-fold fabric cover off it, and I like this much more, they are incredibly secure. I wish they still did the color match option.Nobody's breaking into that sucker without an angle grinder.. Thanks
I’ve had 2 of these. First one was on 2 different F150 and the current one is on its 3rd f150. They flat hold up well. The only thing wrong with mine is the Peragon label has yellowed. Today I ordered my 3rd. I’m gonna give this one to my daughter. I ordered the limited HDX. As for leaks I see very little. They also don’t claim to be waterproof. Plus my spray on bed liner goes over the front edge so I wasn’t expecting it to seal well. I really like how tough it is.
Finally, someone else that has a bedbug installed. I’ve had one on my last 3 trucks, the most current a 2023 Tundra Platinum. I LOVE the bedrug product, it’s amazingly tough and functional! Oh, cool tonneau cover as well.
A bed rug is for men that don't use there truck as a tool. I haul dirt fire wood. A bed rug is for the weekend diy guy that doesn't want his golf bag to get dirty. Lol.
I am from the old school; tonneau cover is fabric that rolls up. My 2023 Santa Cruz is installed with one. Thee hundred dollars and I love it.What say you?
I have owned one of these Parragon covers for over 10 years, and it's still going strong and working great. Mine has a slightly different mounting and locking method than the one in the video, and looks like they have upgraded several things. Great cover none the less.
I have had the ReTrax, The Peragon and the Bak Flip X4S cover. In my opinion the best by far is the Bak. The ReTrax is a quality cover but the joints wear out and the canister takes up a ton of bed space. The Peragon is very nice but the huge drawback is if you have something in the bed that is taller than the bottom of the cover panels are when the top is folded up against the front of the bed and that object slides to front of the bed when the cover is closed and then you try to open the cover, you can't. The first panel sections will hit the object and be obstructed from collapsing to open. You then have to crawl up there the move the object so you can then open the cover. As a result that space is not usable at all if you want to use the cover with a payload in the bed. It is. however, very easy to remove and re-install. That does not solve the issue of employing the bed cover if you want to cover a full bed load. Also, if you go through automatic carwashes be sure you engage the lock on the cover or the drying fans will blow it open.
This is probably the most insightful review of all of these covers I have seen! you should do a video review! I am between bakflip, the bak roller, and truxedo sentry ct. any thoughts on those? security and waterproofing are paramount for me, but durability pariticularly to UV, rain, wind, and sand are important and would ideally like it to support weight. my budget is 1.5K
@@11dbelt I have the Bak Revolver X4s and have been really happy with it so far. It isn't fully waterproof along the edges... it'll keep rain out for the most part, but when pressure washing it to clean-off the mud, some water did get in along the edges, but it wasn't a lot of water. I think if you have something that absolutely needs to be protected from water, you could put it into a bin and put the bin in the bed. For protection from UV, per Bak's recommendation, I sprayed on some 303 Aerospace Protectant on it. For ability to support weight, supposedly it can handle 400 pounds evenly distributed on top of it, but I haven't tried to really test that. I've put some lighter items on top of it while parked just for convenience (like sleeping bags and a backpacking tent). If you need to put significant weight up top, maybe a bed rack on top of it would work better for you? They make adapters that let you retain full function of the tonneau cover (so you can still roll it up/down) while having a bed rack installed. Of course, that's more $$ you'd have to spend... Just trying to help with some ideas, best of luck to you and I hope that whatever setup you choose, that you'll be 100% happy with it!
@David Belt I've had a Paragon cover in full use for a year now and can say, "You're not wrong" in this assessment. I remedied the problem of anything getting in the way under the cover folding area with a simple load shifting bar. You just lock it in place where the cover travels/folds and it stops anything from being able to slide to that area. I will say 1 thing, when locked (and my tailgate as well) it would be hard and very noisy to get in my truck bed. After a year I really am happy about my purchase from them.
You're definitely right, the trade-off for no mounted canister that reserves the bed space to retract is the need to move items out of the way to open the cover. We designed the cover around the flexibility to quickly remove the panel group entirely and as much bed access as possible. We recommend a simple cargo hook to pull items forward when you want to utilize the entire bed under the cover or an adjustable cargo bar to prevent load shift when you don't need that space!
I had one on my my F250 for about 3yrs. I just removed it and threw it away. You can't open it if you are nose up a hill (my driveway is a little on the steep side). Although, you could close it if your back end is up. Water leakage, even going through a car wash was minimal and almost non existing even heavy rain. About a year and a half in, one of the hinges broke. Paragon was fairly accommodating on sending the replacement part. Everything was fine again until several of the sealed bearings seazed. Another issue was that i had to realign the tracks a couple 3 times a year. I haven't decided yet if i am going to go with a tonnue cover again or just buy a good quality toolbox.
The camera thing is just a great idea, fantastic real world observation, thanks for the in-bed documentation, really assists in choosing worthwhile products
@@GearsGadgets you have the option to not have them installed. Says a lot for diamondback if that’s all you find wrong with it. Not being a smart a** so please don’t take it that way
My 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche tonneau cover came with the truck and was 100% waterproof through a thunderstorm and 30 mph winds. The girls scouts kicked me out from a sound sleep when their tent was collapsing (I had to go to their tent.) It was watertight at least the first 10 years. :) The rubber got hard eventually and had a minor leak. The truck had a "water management system with gutters on the sides and good end seals.
I had one for 2 years for the rear window visibility and here's what I found... 1: if anything is pushed to the front or slides to the front, you can't open the cover without getting it away from where it sinks in when you push to open it. You'll need to buy a bed puller pole to get under it to move stuff toward the back before opening the cover. 2: if you live in snowy areas, you will need to keep it locked to support the weight of the snow. If it's unlocked, once it reaches a certain weight, it will begin to push down on the front, which will cause the back to open slightly. 3: if you do have any snow on it, if you have to open it, the snow will fall between the slats and into the bed making a mess to sweep out. 4: lastly, if your of shorter stature with a lifted truck, this will be a pain in the butt to open. I'm 5'8" with a 2" lifted Trail Boss. While I can reach over the bed, I'm constantly pushing down within 4" of the edge. This makes it hard for the opposite side to compress easily, you need to be able to reach in 12" to 14" and still be able to push down without irritating your armpit. I sold mine and got the Bak X4 Revolver. So easy to use, can see plenty out of my rear window, 98% dry in rain, has 8" of wet snow on it right now and if I need to open it, I'd just brush it off and roll it up with nothing falling into the bed! Sorry Peragon, nice idea but I wouldn't recommend.
Considering a $500 truxedo pro will be more water proof than a $1500 cover it is important. A cover should never leak but if the tailgate from the side areas then it is what it is. Too many covers leak from all over and it’s ridiculous. The entire point of a cover is to, well, COVER. Good video. Good explanations. Thanks!
I had a peragon for 3 years. I regretted it from about the second month of ownership. I didn't think opening it woul be such a pain. But when some thing slides to the back yoy have to get into the bed pull if foward just to get it or ipen the cover . Major inconvenience. Also it leaks way to much. I would not recommend
We're sorry to hear the cover wasn't a good fit for you. If you're still using it we recommend a simple cargo hook for pushing things back into that space (that would normally be taken up by a mounted canister) and pulling them forward when you're ready to open. Or an adjustable cargo bar works well to prevent load shift when you don't need that space!
Just bought one, have had mine for less than 2 weeks. Already sending it back, it’s a pretty terrible cover especially when you’re used to well functioning equipment…
I've done what I can to reduce water leaks. It would be such a problem, but my gets quite a bit in. With a light to moderate rainfall, water seaps in. I've readjusted, reinstalled and realigned according to their video and print manual with no luck. Mine is also hard to open and close when the panel. The only thing that has improved my situation is putting a rooftop tent over the bed of my truck.
I really like the features of the Peragon. Especially the internal fold and not losing space to a canister. I just wish that it came with a T-Rail option to mount a cargo rack.
Looks like they fixed the lock my in-laws has a lock at the front driver side and the plastic protector is stupid think it’s broken off so now that’s a problem for the winter moisture and freezing
Just installed my LimitedHD yesterday on a 2017 Silverado. Had some rain last night, not sure how hard it rained but the seals between the panels leaked. But, I have 100 days and we'll see how it goes as it settles in.
Nice review. The issue I see would be if you were hauling things that took almost the full height of the inside of the bed towards the back wall. As you push the panels back. The tall items that you would be hauling would interfere with the panels folding down as you open the cover.
This exact thing is my biggest complaint. Limits my already limited bed space (5.5'). I've had mine for about 6-7 months, and am regretting getting it. It's great when it works, which is most of the time, and looks great, but I would have rather gotten a roll up hard cover instead.
Watching and listening while you were moving it around. Sounds like it would be very noisy and what about the snow and ice? Where does that go? But in the bed. Someone commented about loading the bed. So that the panels can fold down. Very good point. I hadn’t considered that. Looks like I’m still favoring the Roll N Lock.
I just bought one and is a TOTAL POS. Reminds me of a cheap shelving unit from IKEA. One thing you did not mention in your review was snow or opening the unit in the rain. This thing will NOT open or CLOSE with snow or ice, When it rains, it acts like a funnel duping ALL of the water into your bed and cargo. It rattles horribly. Thanks for your review but these were a couple of issues I have encountered. Im going back to a Diamond Back.
Great review and Info. I would love to see you review the new Diamond Back Switch Back model. This model folds in a couple of places and gives access to the bed. Would love to see the water test on it.
You need to adjust your rails a bit, you probably have them tightened down to tight. If you loosened it up a tad, the cover will fly back, instead of you having to push it. I've been using this cover for the past 2.5 years, and I can confirm that this is an accurate representation of the water intrusion. However, it's utility otherwise is great. I have the double lock version, and no one is getting in there without a key. When you need the full bed it is easy as you show to remove the cover. And it really looks great. They are a Wisconsin based made in USA business, and they have great customer support. They actually sent me a new cover under warranty because of the water leaks, but the replacement leaks as well (but maybe not as much as the old one). If they could figure out the water intrusion issue I would give it 5 stars, as that is the only thing holding it back.
thanks for showing this, I've been looking for a roller cover that fits with a cargo glide on an 8' bed, I use it for a welding rig skid part time, and would love to be able to lock up when the rig isn't loaded
Ive tried at least 6 different covers and the Radco Black Diamond Hard Folding Tonneau Cover Has been far the best easy to remove and very good at waterproofing and not overly expensive i would love to see ya try one out...
I have one that is a little older that I had picked up for my 2019 f150 and moved over to my 21 f150. I like some of the updates your cover has mine doesnt use the boxlink system to install it just clamps the bed rails. the one thing i dont like about the version you have is you cant open it with the tailgate up. mine is one of there older designs that actually has a lock on the second panel from the window and if anything happens where the tailgate gets stuck i can at least get into the bed to fix it. the box link install is pretty cool for sure though
I’ve had one on my Ram 1500 for about 5 years. It’s a decent cover. Keep it lubed or the rollers get locked up. The rubber seal on the front near the cab only lasted about 2 years.
I think the issue for me with this is partially the water getting in, but more importantly - the gaskets that let the water in themselves. In direct sunlight or drier climates - that's going to dry out and breakdown fast and likely leak even more. It sure does look nice but it seems like something that isn't going to last for years like a retrax or MX4 would
They probably won’t give away that thing with all the reviews it has already. $2000+ is a big chunk of change for me but I still want one. I like the idea of putting large amounts of weight on top of it. Ahhh someday
Love my diamondback cover got the 270 had the old backflip revolver x4 which maybe is the older version of the bak one he reviewed also that one was recommended by a coworker and that one sucked no drain tubes let water in winter time because of the water let in on the rails it essentially froze the cover flat had to wrestle with it in winter to get to tools etc gear was happy to get rid of that cover diamondback is pricey but it works secure and the next step up is essentially a cap/topper for your truck
I haul dirt/mulch loaded by a bobcat. Will those damaged the rail either during loading or be impossible to clean out the track? It would be a pain to remove every time I do mulch/dirt
I was so happy to see you have the swing cases in the bed, so do I and was concerned if this cover would work with them. I do have a question, dose it rattle while driving? And can it hold weight on top.
I have the roll and lock that was mentioned. I thought I might like this, but the roll n locklock is far superior. It’s not detachable rolls into a canister rather than the rattle trap that thing appears. If it leaks water what is the point. I really like this cover when it leaks water all over my carpet bedliner? What do you have on there now? Because I’m certain it’s not this one
Thx u for your video. Your bed lining looks great! Who makes it? I would like to know more about it. I am looking at the EDR electric cover - any pearls?
Looks like he’s got the Bed Rug. I’ve used them in every truck I’ve owned since they came out. Absolutely the best. I can haul anything and not worry about scratches from the truck and they don’t hold water and to clean you can hose them off. They also dry very quickly.
Are there any completely 100% waterproof bed covers, no leaks whatsoever, pressure water at carwash or during serious rainstorm? Not sure I want a pickup if i can't cover and keep the bed completely dry? Also, your comment about not liking to pressurize the tailgate seal preferring airflow, does that mean you don't like the RSI bedcaps which are designed to pressure seal? Thanks.
why did you edit the video every time you went to close the cover, it seemed like there was a brief edit, is there something off about the initial start of closing the cover?
Be aware with the peragon. If you have a box in the back that slides to the front under breaking you will not be able to open the cover. Because it folds into the bed. With the Bak if you live somewhere it gets down to freezing the vinyl gets so stiff you can’t roll it up.
I’m concerned with the brackets on the sides that cause the cover to “flip” and remain in the truck when the cover is removed. They seem like they would be subject to getting bumped, bent, and or knocked out of alignment if something shifts in the bed. Is that true? They also look sharp, like they would punch a hole in a bag of sand or a cardboard box if it came into contact with it.
Never had a tonneau but just purchased a new Titan so I'm in the market. Which one is best for weather protection? I'll carry luggage and some Music equipment back there.
Don’t buy the peragon. It’s terrible, leaks at every seam. The backflips are way better, just a little leaking at the tailgate, which can’t be stopped by any cover.
Thanks for the video. Great job on the bed camera. Water isn't as much of a concern to me as dust is.Water is relatively clean and will dry quickly as it gets warm under the cover. Dust just makes a mess of everything...Any thoughts on that?
Dan I also looked into this cover for my 2021 f150 limited but I decided to go with roll &Lock a I thought that it was a better Quality, more secure, and keeps the rain out better that looks great
DOES "DUST" HAVE ANY "Ç? MY THOUGHT WAS: THIS GUY COULD FIND SOME KIND OF "ANTI-STATIC" SPRAY, MAYBE EVEN A CREMÉ APPLICATION, AND MY HOPE IS THAT DUST AND FINE PARTICLES WON'T BE ABLE TO HITCHHIKE ON YOUR HARD WORKING BABY
I want to know what is your opinion on the best retractable cover when you factor in all aspects except price obviously. I know this video is six months old so maybe you will see this and reply. Thanks
Thanks for the video. I happen to already have this cover and agree with your review. I do love the look of it and since it being water proof isn't crucial I'm very happy with how it works. The strap does get in the way when closed. Over all I'm very pleased with the aesthetics and the security when closed.
So, which do you prefer, this or the X4S? Would this dent if you dropped something on it? Both seem to be very good covers. Thanks for the great video!
Do you have a recommendation for the best cover for rain and presuraized water? I'd like to put the BedRug in and being in Florida we get a ton of rain, plus I take my trucks to the wash about 5 times a week.
I had one on my 2008 Dodge Ram QC. It was not the easiest to install, extremely noisy on the highway above 70mph(The panels would bounce up and down and create a harmonic noise inside the cab. There was always water in the bed after a car wash and heavy rainfall. They did hold up to snow well but the powder coat finish started to slightly fade after 3 yrs. The bundle of panels is quite heavy and not the easiest to remove BUT you do have the option to remove them. I did not like that the hardware(nuts and bolts) were merely zinc coated. I would like to have had Stainless hardware.
First time watching but does this bed cover support weight on top of it? I had a Bakflip G2 that could support some weight (I think it was 300lbs or something.
This isn't designed for heavy loads, it's designed for security and flexibility (quick release). It can support 50 lbs of direct weight like a cooler or tool box and 300 lbs distributed like snow or ice!
The metal is so thin, it will just bend if anything is put on it. I also had a Bakflip and I’m going back to it because the peragon has so many design flaws. It’s really a terrible cover.
You seem to see people’s expectation for a bed cover to keep their gear dry as kind of unreasonable, but where I live it’s the primary reason to have one and just about any (full coverage) tri-fold will do that job. What I see as unreasonable is expecting a cover to protect your gear from people, when we all know that they only help to keep honest people honest, and trading away protection from the elements in the process.
I've had two BAK X4's on the same truck in 5 years. For a truck that lived in a garage except when actively being driven the first X4 literally fell apart after about 3.5 years, I'm 1.5 years into the second X4, it's better than the first with some design changes but it still has some issues and it's very easy to get into with the tailgate locked. I have a 5th wheel hitch in the bed all the time so most covers like the one reviewed here usually won't work to clear the hitch and I need the bed space they take up. The X4 is defiantly better at managing water than this Peragon.
Hey Dan, which tonneau cover are you still running today? Having a hard time deciding between the Peragon Limited and the Bak x4s. It seems that the Peragon would last a lot longer die to the aluminum exterior va the fabric cover of the x4s. But the x4s seems it may be easier to operate, especially if running it open.
Great video!...I like the look of tonneau covers...this one especially....but I am more of a canopy guy...not as much fussing around when you need your truck to be a truck!...thanks for sharing...stay safevout there!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
I'm gonna be an outlier here.. But i'm looking at getting a f150 lightning. I want a tonneau cover that makes the bed easily accessible, but also provides the best aerodynamics so I get more miles per kwh. any recommendations? So far I like this and the Bak X4s
it seems like you had to drill holes on the side bed walls of your truck. Out of all of these, I think the retrax manual sliding is the best. The only negative is all the space you loose up front. I also like the retrax because you can lock it secure in any position and still keep your stuff up front out of the elements.
We have some classic edition models that have a drilling option, but all of the Platinum, Limited HD, and Limited HDx (shown in this video) do not require drilling. What you see in this video is Dan mounting to the pre-existing holes that come with the Ford Box Link System!
Great review. Was about to buy one, but your video persuaded me not to. The security/strength look awesome, but I live in Wyoming and rain, snow, wind are such a huge factor that this would not be the cover I need.
Curious if your bed is full (say plastic bins) can you open and close it? Had a different company flip top, but Fl sun killed all the seals in a few years
We recommend a simple cargo hook for pushing things back into that space (that would normally be taken up by a mounted canister) and pulling them forward when you're ready to open. Or an adjustable cargo bar works well to prevent load shift when you don't need that space!
The accordion effect at the cab of the truck was problematic for me! Couldn’t open the cover if I had items stored up at the cab of the truck! It went back to a simple reinforced role up cover on my current truck which I love for a 1/4 of the cost. I also had a F1 Bakflip on a 1500 Ram years back that ended up being expensive junk! The panels ended up absorbing water over time and the panels warped!
Peragon bed cover, 5 things I hate: 5. Not as easy to take off and on as they say 4. If left open when driving it rattles 3. The closing strap is in the middle so you often have to climb into the bed to grab the strap and close. 2. If you put anything that's about 10 inches tall in the back and it slides towards the front, the cover won't open. You have to belly crawl under the cover to retrieve the item. 1. After 3 1/2 years one of the track wheels broke and had to throw it away.

I'd like to see Peragon add a t-slot to the rails for adding accessories above the bed. It would make this cover much more versatile.
I have a Diamondback HD on my F-150 and I love it. It's not for everyone because to use the bed for taller stuff it makes it inconvenient.
I bought a backflip years ago and I swear not even a drop got on my cargo. If I buy another bed cover that will be one of my first choices.
I bought one 2 years ago, it was just warrantied since the hinges disintegrated. Terrible design, but they look great.
Thanks for the thorough review, love that 360 camera while washing. First time to see it, awesome 👌
Truck covers USA are the way to go. THE BEST!!!!
LoMax, had one on my last 3 trucks and love them. This one was on my short list but decided to stick with what I know.
Should have went with a bifold Lomax. I got one in 2015 doesn't leak on me it holds 500 lb on top of it. Still looks brand new I love it.
Nothing will beat a Diamondback tonneau cover.
I mean, for many people almost any other style is better than a diamondback. Need a wide open bed without having to remove the cover.
I just don’t like all the exterior hardware on the Diamondback. All the boat cleats tie offs just look weird to me.
@@GearsGadgets you have the option to not have them installed. Says a lot for diamondback if that’s all you find wrong with it. Not being a smart a** so please don’t take it that way
Lomax in my opinion is better, I like the low profile minimalist look, and the functionality is perfect for me
I just wish they made a low profile bed cover than I would totally get one
Agreed. Have one on my 2017 titan p4x. Junk cover for the price. Leaks all kinds of water in compared to a 3-400 simple trifold
Thanks you guys saved me from a big mistake
@@mikesheets4332thanks! if this reviewer has been accepting ads from them, he’s not OBJECTIVE
Great video. I have a non-electric Rolling Lock bed cover on my Raptor right now
I've done what I can to reduce water leaks.
My issue with a roll up was in the winter. It would freeze and I couldn't roll it up. Thanks for the videos
Love you thought process Dan. I almost went this route but eventually went with X4s per your previous video 🙂
The Undercover SE is completely waterproof. I've been running it for three years.
Thank you for the input. I'm in the market for a lockable cover and this one looks very promising. Cheers.
thanks for showing this, I've been looking for a roller cover that fits with a cargo glide on an 8' bed, I use it for a welding rig skid part time, and would love to be able to lock up when the rig isn't loaded
Ive tried at least 6 different covers and the Radco Black Diamond Hard Folding Tonneau Cover
Has been far the best easy to remove and very good at waterproofing and not overly expensive i would love to see ya try one out...
I’m sure you can add some striping on the sides to help keep the water out on the sides and stuff
I’ve had one on my Ram 1500 for about 5 years. It’s a decent cover. Keep it lubed or the rollers get locked up. The rubber seal on the front near the cab only lasted about 2 years.
Good review. LOMAX Hard Tri-Fold next please
I have one of these covers and love it
I think the issue for me with this is partially the water getting in, but more importantly - the gaskets that let the water in themselves. In direct sunlight or drier climates - that's going to dry out and breakdown fast and likely leak even more.
It sure does look nice but it seems like something that isn't going to last for years like a retrax or MX4 would
Hello, what are the side bins you have inside your bed
I would love to see you test out a DiamondBack bed cover.
If they are down, I’m down.
I like your use of the Insta-360.
How about snow on Penagon? What if the snow is more than 3 inches deep and strong enough?
I haul dirt/mulch loaded by a bobcat. Will those damaged the rail either during loading or be impossible to clean out the track? It would be a pain to remove every time I do mulch/dirt
I went through two Bak x4 Revolvers in three years. They both just pretty much disintegrated. Looking at this cover.
I have the same Harley too! White and Blue tho.
I have been between the peragon and bak revalver and cant make up my mind. What one would you recommend?
Be aware with the peragon. If you have a box in the back that slides to the front under breaking you will not be able to open the cover. Because it folds into the bed. With the Bak if you live somewhere it gets down to freezing the vinyl gets so stiff you can’t roll it up.
Go with the bak. I’ve owned both, no contest!
Dan I also looked into this cover for my 2021 f150 limited but I decided to go with roll &Lock a I thought that it was a better Quality, more secure, and keeps the rain out better that looks great
I'm a female, so, either you appreciate them or you don't, BUT!! If I may ask
(Oops, sorry! LOL:
DOES "DUST" HAVE ANY "Ç?
MY THOUGHT WAS: THIS GUY COULD FIND SOME KIND OF "ANTI-STATIC" SPRAY, MAYBE EVEN A CREMÉ APPLICATION, AND MY HOPE IS THAT DUST AND FINE PARTICLES WON'T BE ABLE TO HITCHHIKE ON YOUR HARD WORKING BABY
I have this cover for 2.5 years now and it keeps dust out. I can also confirm the water intrusion in this video is accurate.
I want to know what is your opinion on the best retractable cover when you factor in all aspects except price obviously. I know this video is six months old so maybe you will see this and reply. Thanks
Does your roof leak in the car wash? Mine does pretty bad on the 21 f150
Thanks for the video. I happen to already have this cover and agree with your review. I do love the look of it and since it being water proof isn't crucial I'm very happy with how it works. The strap does get in the way when closed. Over all I'm very pleased with the aesthetics and the security when closed.
You provide great content, thank you sir. Tangent, what wheels are those???????
I have a roll n lock and love it.
So, which do you prefer, this or the X4S? Would this dent if you dropped something on it? Both seem to be very good covers. Thanks for the great video!
Could this cover be integrated with the back rack system? I am interested especially since it folds down (not up) and can easily be removed.
In your opinion what is the best soft roll tauno cover? I've been looking at the leer and tuxedo.
What trifold would you recommend for all around performance and band for the buck?
Are they made for square bodies?
Are any covers that you know of that are strong enough to stand and walk on?
Diamondback
Great video. I like your bedrug ... can you share details?
did to u reviews any Trifold cover for Ford Maverick!?
First time watching but does this bed cover support weight on top of it? I had a Bakflip G2 that could support some weight (I think it was 300lbs or something.
This isn't designed for heavy loads, it's designed for security and flexibility (quick release). It can support 50 lbs of direct weight like a cooler or tool box and 300 lbs distributed like snow or ice!
The metal is so thin, it will just bend if anything is put on it. I also had a Bakflip and I’m going back to it because the peragon has so many design flaws. It’s really a terrible cover.
Awesome cover. Those swing cases how bad do they block the bed lights?
You seem to see people’s expectation for a bed cover to keep their gear dry as kind of unreasonable, but where I live it’s the primary reason to have one and just about any (full coverage) tri-fold will do that job. What I see as unreasonable is expecting a cover to protect your gear from people, when we all know that they only help to keep honest people honest, and trading away protection from the elements in the process.
does any other company make one that you can get in white??
Looks like you wouldn't be able to open/close this cover at all in snow/ice conditions??
Great video!...I like the look of tonneau covers...this one especially....but I am more of a canopy guy...not as much fussing around when you need your truck to be a truck!...thanks for sharing...stay safevout there!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
I'm gonna be an outlier here.. But i'm looking at getting a f150 lightning. I want a tonneau cover that makes the bed easily accessible, but also provides the best aerodynamics so I get more miles per kwh. any recommendations? So far I like this and the Bak X4s
RetraxONE MX Retractable Truck Bed Tonneau Cover. Look it up. I have it installed on my F250 6.7.
Have you reviewed any diamondback bed covers?
Your bedrug, who did you purchase it from?
Great review. One question. How much did it cost.
So with my weather tech roll up bed cover, is it supposed to hold a lil water on top after it rains? Or not at all?
it seems like you had to drill holes on the side bed walls of your truck. Out of all of these, I think the retrax manual sliding is the best. The only negative is all the space you loose up front. I also like the retrax because you can lock it secure in any position and still keep your stuff up front out of the elements.
I have one and no drilling is required with the Paragon
We have some classic edition models that have a drilling option, but all of the Platinum, Limited HD, and Limited HDx (shown in this video) do not require drilling. What you see in this video is Dan mounting to the pre-existing holes that come with the Ford Box Link System!
So Dan, what tonneau are you sporting today? I suspect the revolver?
Can you add a rack with that installed?
If the bed is loaded down the cover doesn’t open well. Materials in the bed stop the cover from being able to collapse and fold in.
I have owned 3 Truxedo covers and none for them leaked, even after driving for hours (6) in heavy southern Alabama rain
Peragon bed cover, 5 things I hate:
5. Not as easy to take off and on as they say
4. If left open when driving it rattles
