    If you have a Solar Panel with Z-Mounts - you can just use the regular starlink mount and squeeze two legs of the quad-leg under the solar panel. Super simple - very sturdy.

    Excellent vid. You mentioned thunder storms. Should the flag pole be grounded?

    • @rvgearandfar
      @rvgearandfar  Год назад

      I'm not sure the answer on that. You could always pull the pole down lower during a storm. I'd imagine if lightening did strike the dish it would travel down the cable before the aluminum pole. Also the pole is mounted to the frame, which if the RV is plugged into shorepower would be grounded at the pedestal. Lots of unknowns with that question that I'm not qualified to answer but its not something in all of my research I've come across as being an area of concern.

  • @ThisNomadicIdea

    I didn't see or hear anything about the Camco 20 flagpole. Although you have it as an affiliate link. It wasn't seen on your video. Just how does the bushing and starlink mount on to that?

    • @rvgearandfar
      @rvgearandfar  Год назад +1

      Since creating this video some folks have found that Harbor Freight has messed with the pole diameters and its been less consistent. Check out the listings on the Remotely Connected etsy shop for more information- however they also print the same adapter to fit the Camco poles. The use and installation is the same as the Harbor Freight ones - just another option. Does that answer your question?

    • @RemotelyConnected
      @RemotelyConnected Год назад +1

      The Camco is a slightly different design due to the smaller tubing diameter. We like to refer to it as a 'hybrid' as it is technically a collar-style external adapter but is setup to allow the dish's pole to sit down inside of the flagpole to remove as much lateral stress from the adapter as possible while still allowing use of the OEM latch mechanism and alignment channel.

    • @rvgearandfar

    • @rvgearandfar
      @rvgearandfar  Год назад

      The slide has a weather seal that molds around it. Yes there is some pressure and if you have any other ways into the RV I'd choose them first, but we used it for months that way before drilling a hole into our pass through. Think about wet bay holes or the stove vent hood flap as options to get it inside the RV. Also, may folks just leave the router outside too...
