    Nice video. I would only add that the loop you made at the bottom of the exterior cable rub is very important. The cable should always enter the structure from a lower elevation. Otherwise water will run down the cable and into the structure. If you are running the cable through the soffit or a gable vent and don't have that service dip, you will end up with water in the attic.

    I love my starlink and the mount set.. I moved out of the city into the country. I have a lot of acres and acres around me in rural area. No one could give me more than 100 mbps. When I was use to 1GB. Starlink saved us with sometimes running as fast as 350 mbps 🙌🏾🙏🏿

    Hello, I work for a construction company in Japan with an installation record of over 120 Starlink units (about one every three days). Since the antenna kits and mounts discussed in this video are not yet available in Japan, this has been very informative for us. However, I would like to point out that using lag bolts (coach bolts) for mounting on the roof fascia alone may not be safe due to insufficient material thickness. It is recommended to secure them in areas with more substantial backing where the bolts can anchor deeply.
    Also, I strongly recommend wearing a helmet when working on ladders for safety.
    Regarding the original mounts, while they may seem less reliable, I am curious how well they would hold up against the typhoons that are common in Japan during the fall, which bring winds of up to 80 km/h (22.2 m/s). From my perspective, it is questionable whether they would withstand such conditions.

      I'm in a very windy area in Alaska. We routinely get hurricane force winds in the winter. I'm a little concerned that the cold will make the plastic brittle and the wind will rip the plastic apart. Just placed my order yesterday and now I'm wondering if I need to build a mast instead and do a pole mount.

      Had satellite that was slow and always down. Last time it went down, they said ten days before tech would be there. That was the last straw. Got Starlink with $200 off in my area. Shocked at how well it works, excellent speed. The only regret is that I spent so long suffering with my satellite service.

    What is the wind rating of that mounting? That bracket looks cast. Without washers I would expect it will crack at the bolts. The seating does not look deep enough and wind will pull that out of the bracket.

    If your company does custom mounting Solutions, you should do a v-mount backing plate, so it is perfectly centered at the roof line. It's slightly off to the right. Not a big deal but if you want it perfect I would do the back plate.

    Does Starlink offer a wall mount that will accommodate a wide roof eave? Mine is about 30 inches. The fascia board is partially obscured by the rain gutters, so if I must use the fascia board, there will need to be an additional piece of wood to provide a base for the mounting bracket.

I ask because i recently rec'd my Business/High performance starlink for business and i rec'd the Gen2 rather than Gen3. BTW, the High Performance is not near as easy to mount and assemble. Also if you rec'v the Gen2 high performance and wish to connect to a network you need an ethernet adapter. Gen3 high performance router includes onboard ethernet port. Just FYI to anyone who considering the high performance hardware.

The pivot mount I purchased did not include the base or mast that attaches to the gen 3 dish. Starlink's SHOP site does not show one. Do they expect us to setup our Starlink Kit, setting in the yard, to get the support we need. This is the worst support I have ever dealt with! You send them a request, wait a day for an email response that doesn't address the problem. Then, send them another email and wait, how long for a response. With the cost of equipment, the $120 a month for service; this is the support you get!

    I purchased a gen 3 kit, but unable to mount it to my roof. I bought a pivot roof mount and 150' cable in advance to mount. It was for a gen2 but didn't know it wouldn't work until my gen 3 kit arrived today. Your video says you have to have a gen 3 kit to be able to order gen 3 adapters or parts. I go to the shop menu and it doesn't list any gen 3 mounts. You send a kit and expect people to just set in your yard. Seriously, the prices we pay and have to continually purchase more! Tell me what kind of customer will leave a dish in their yard for someone to walk away with? Your customers deserve better and don't get me started on your customer support, that doesn't seem to exist

      You can select your dish version to see the appropriate accessories by click the “Not your Starlink” link in the shop, or visiting shop.starlink.com/pick. Compatibility is also listed in each product description.
      My channel isn’t affiliated with Starlink, so I can’t address the other issues you raised.

    The quality of hardware being supplied with the generation 3 setup looks much more inferior and lesser quality compared to the earlier versions,I had been seriously considering Starlink as an option for my internet setup but after seeing a number of videos of the new gen3 hardware I have to say I'm unimpressed........

    WE JUST BROKE OUR KICKSTAND FOLLOWING YOUR VIDEO! 😢😡 Please inform others that under the kickstand are two tabs that lock it it. You have to lift the kickstand up from the bottom AND THEN you can slide it down. 😭😭😭 That information would have helped us a ton and now we have a brand new starlink that already is broken. Ughhhhhhh!!!!

      It is certainly cheaper to produce for Starlink. In my opinion, quality has gone down hill with every dish since the V1/V2 round dishes.

    That new flimsy mounting system is awful. Those two little clips will give way under a big gust. Don’t get me started on the pole mount that has already been recalled by SpaceX. People don’t really like their expensive new dish flying off their roof. SpaceX obviously never tested the new dish in real world conditions

    • @StarlinkHardware
      @StarlinkHardware  7 месяцев назад

      I doubt it based on my experience so far. You have to lift up and slide the mount plate out at the same time, not something wind can do. Obviously, don’t keep your dish up in a tornado. But in Starlink’s history I’ve seen very few properly installed dishes fail because of wind.

    • @gammagonad1657
      @gammagonad1657 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@StarlinkHardware there is currently a recall on all pole mounts. A lot of people had their antennas destroyed because of the poor design. That is not just my opinion. The two tiny clips that will likely fail in strong winds is, along with many other reviewers. The V2 was objectively a much stronger design

    • @StarlinkHardware
      @StarlinkHardware  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@gammagonad1657 The Pipe Adapter recall had to do with the bolt, it could loosen over time. It had nothing to do with the mounting plate or how it attached to the dish. Anyone concerned about Gen 3 can always just buy Gen 2, as both are available. But I have all the mounts and multiple Gen 3 units being tested, and they are holding up fine.

    • @gammagonad1657
      @gammagonad1657 7 месяцев назад

      @@StarlinkHardware I never said the recal had anything to do the mounting plate, but once that’s fixed just you wait and see it will definitely be a problem. It obviously was not as well designed from the beginning like the V2 was. You can tell that not much thought was put into it other than “build it cheaper”

    Do you expect your customers to start drilling into their homes and leave the dish setting in their yards? Then drill more holes, if or when they get the proper parts to mount it to our homes or yards. Or, activate their kits and wait for the proper mount that will hold up in real world conditions. We customers deserve way better, for the prices we pay. Come on, plastic clips!!!!

    • @StarlinkHardware

    I cannot for the life of me understand why the cable is not installed in conduit. Cables should never be exposed outside a premises or below a certain height inside the premises. I thought this was a Starlink authorised video. This guy is just an amateur.

    • @StarlinkHardware
      @StarlinkHardware  6 месяцев назад +3

      Conduit is overkill, the Starlink cable is rated for outdoor use. The official Starlink instructions don’t call for conduit. I’ve had my original dish installed for over 3 years, the cable is fine.
