There a a few things in this video I would do different. #1 you do not need to cut that rubber plug in half just split it from one side and peal it open to put it around the wire. That makes for one piece instead of 2. #2 Those expanding rubber holders work great. They are used on motorcycles as vibration mounts and work great. But you have to make sure you don't drill the holes too big. Once they expand they are solid. He was pulling them up before expanding them. #3 Use VHB tape instead of goop gluing the base down. #4 I'd use a router to make a slot to pass the cable through. Smaller hole more better :)

Thank you for creating this video. It is very helpful. Now that you have been using the Starlink mounted this way, is there anything that you would do differently? I have the Starlink Gen 3 that I will be mounting to the top of our Tiffin. Thanks! Bret C/AC0AE

What I don't get is the direction of the plate. First, setting it up the app tells you the best direction to point Starlink. So does this mean you have to park your RV in the best direction also since the plate is 'fixed'? Second, being that the plate is fixed it only seems right to have angled for driving so that wind passes over it. If the plate is backwards or sideways the wind resistance is going to loosen it or pull it off.

The standard has like a 110 degree view, it doesn't need to face the satellites directly.

To keep antenna safe from debris or something falling on your roof better to mount an antenna cover,

Yeah, that’s the fiberglass roof moving the panel and the mount. Very sturdy

I always cringe when the mounting plate is placed right on top of the cable entry hole. What if you get a leak? Now you have to potentially disassemble everything!! Not to mention you always want easy access to the entry hole to add more dicor or silicone. There's periodic maintenance that has to be done here.
Also, the other end of the cable (that plugs into the power supply) is much smaller than the end that plugs into the dish. The hole drilled into the roof could have been a lot smaller than that!!

Agree the hold could have been smaller, but enough silicone will stop all leaks.
