4:39 That doesn´t look like ghosting, but like a double image effect or a really bad form of crosstalk. Ghosting is just a blur behind a moving image. Or is that because the camera you were filming with was not moving and therefore the video does not contain sample-hold blur?
Edit: I just tested it for myself with a monitor and my assumption seems to be right.

Hey Greg my pc has a 1660 super but now it just black screens and the fan on the gpu ramps to max speed. If you could take the gpu or the pc for a video or just to fix it that would mean everything to me. No rush.

For those of you who own a Yoga Slim 7 Pro, how do you find the rubber on the bottom? When you use it on your laps does the long rubber presses to much on your tights?
The large rubber feet is meant for airflow.

Do you know the TDP of the 3050? I've seen TDP's from 35W to 80W. I'm guessing 80W based on your benchmarks, but I want to make sure. This laptop seems like an awesome recommendation for a friend of mine who is currently shopping around.
It's 35W Max-Q version, same as every other lightweight laptop with this GPU.

What desktop cpu does cpu most compare to? Also aren’t there a fair number of tests where Intel’s built GPU gives intel systems a big lead? Is that still the case when compared to these 6000 series laptop cpu’s (or the amd APU’s for that matter) ? Does the amd come close or beat it or what? Hopefully my question makes sense if not lmk
You're not making sense because most of your questions are about an edge case which doesn't even matter since this laptop has a dedicated GPU.
The 'lead' tends to be in rendering as some applications can leverage the onboard graphics cores. It doesn't really make a difference in terms of gaming.
If you want to see how the 6000 series laptops compare to the Intel mobile chips you should look up benchmark videos on RUclips. They're not fully accurate, but it gives you a lot more data to work with.
@@TechHug your illiteracy is not my problem. Dedicated GPU or not intel equipped PC’s benefit greatly in many workloads where they can use discrete/on package GPU for acceleration. Many of said workloads and/or benchmarks do not benefit in the same way with dedicated GPU’s. I want to know how well this CPU compares to the best intel CPU’s in those workloads.

Actually I'm looking for a super portable budget laptop, I have my super powerful PC at home and I just need something to watch the latest episode of "Fix or Flop" on the go. Why did everyone stop making budget laptops? Is there a shortage of laptop hardware?

Flatten flat keys are not comformtable for typing at all and trying to press that "broken" up/down key is awful and leads to mistyping.

only 16gb version, I just ordered it without discrete GPU. I have a desktop PC for heavy workloads, and the price difference between the basic model and the one with 3050 is quite large
Thank you for the review. But with due respect, where is the temperature tests that makes a huge factor to buy the unit or not. Most of the laptops are like ovens and that will cause the laptop to reduce its performance.

@@Wzxxx Nah man as long as we're talking about Intel 12th Gen vs Ryzen 6000 CPUs over 15 Watts, Ryzen is about 30-50% more power efficient. At under 15 Watts (U-series chips) that difference is slightly less.

All amd and intel 12 are worse and making laptops last only 2 - 5 hours.
I was laughing on the trick, when you compared this with 2020 laptops, what about 2022 ones. I understand it is sponsored but don't think you can trick/manipulate the audience. I might appreciate the video if you skip that comparison with older laptops from 2020 and do it with similar 2022 laptops.

Saw this at Costco today and almost bought it. No USB4 or TB4 is a big miss in my book as I would have paired this with an eGPU when docked. The 3050 is pretty weak, especially at thin and light power limits of 45 watts.
you'll never have Thunderbolt with amd cpu, just go for intel version if you want to pick one
@@killiandherment8154 USB4 includes TB3 in the spec, so let’s go with that, then. Plenty of AMD laptops have USB4.

No USB4 implemented = no go. Got the previous model, intel based with TB4, for my wifey, was good one for the price.
As someone who consumes and transfers content daily across all of my devices, lack of Gen4 speed never bothered me. Still lightning fast in this price range.
these new R9 6xxxx chipset laptops have Linux kernel issues that stop a few things from working, recompiling drivers to get the keyboard to fully work (the important side, you know, like typing) and swapping out the wifi/bt card with an intel AX200....
So just keep that in mind. I just got mine delivered yesterday, 32GB Ram and R9 6900HS

@@abstract-matters has it been 2 months? I love this laptop. I had it glitch out on me once where it didn't wake up and a forced shutdown rebooted to a black screen and maxed out fans. The highest I've ever heard a laptop fan. No issues since.

I love this laptop! I just can’t wait for the next hear model because I would like to have an rtx 4050 (which could replace the 3050) I would kill for this laptop if Lenovo would offer a 120Hz OLED screen with it (Asus did it this year, so it is possible) and lastly, please implement USB4 on the AMD model and implement HDMI 2.1 on the Intel model, after these mentioned spec bumps this would make the absolutely most perfectlaptop in the world…I bought a 2020 Yoga Slim 7 laptop for my wife and I love it what they did with that…seeing some improvements after is good, i just wish the AMD model had an HDMI port instead of that extra USB-A port

OLED kills battery life. It would the ruin much of the appeal of this laptop, i.e. a thin and light with solid performance that lasts all day.
Get a MacBook Air with the m2 chip asap I need you to go viral and fund the car channel. Btw if you want to drive a Chron, Veyron, or Aventador SVJ just holler anytime you’re passing through or near New Orleans
Great informative videos but have to be honest. This video fails to mention that the 16:10 aspect ratio is not used by a lot of modern titles. When you downscale the content to 1080p on a 3K display (like this laptop), it's really not going to look good. If this laptop is offered with a 1080p screen, you should just opt into that but again, that aspect ratio is not a popular one. It's a strong laptop but definitely a weird one.

@@nvire Yeah, I heard him mention it but he didn't state the downsides of having an aspect ratio not supported by a lot of games and multimedia.
16:10 is becoming the new norm for most productivity/work laptops. I don't think this is aimed at gaming, but with that said even the most popular gaming laptops are now adapting qhd+ 16:10 aspect ratio, for example, Lenovo Legion 5 pro, Legion 7, Asus G14, Asus M16 etc.. And in my experience every game I've played supports this aspect ratio. Obviously the aspect ratio really shines when it comes to work/productivity. And multimedia is also fine in my opinion, with some small black bars, most content these days are high res anyway geared towards UHD tvs etc.
This isn't gonna be available in the US until next year given Lenovo's typical timelines just to warn people.

Don't buy this laptop, it has problems. The main one being the intermittant crackling/popping audio caused by the graphics constantly switching. Disabling the dedicated GPU fixes the issue, but then you have bad performance in 3D applications, plus what's the point in paying for a RTX 3050 you can't use? The other fix is disabling hybrid mode and using the dedicated GPU all the time, but then you have about 1.5 hrs of battery life and it runs hot all the time. Other problems I had were rattly speakers, low general performance/stuttering in windows, and backlight bleed. And yes, I did try every fix online, plus updating bios, drivers from lenovo and nvidia, fresh installs of windows 10 and 11 without success. So I'm returning and it's the last Lenovo laptop I'm buying. Every single one had issues out of the box.
