I think people need to give Lars a break from some of the criticisms I’ve seen in the comments sections of most Metallica videos. The dude is co-founder of one the greatest speed/thrash/heavy metal bands in the history of music! And, like the rest of us who used to go to purchase Metallica cassettes 30 years ago (at a music store that is now long defunct), time has a way of catching up to you. His reflexes are probably not what they used to be. Think about it, the songs they masterfully created were so unique to anything that had come before and require him to play really, really, really fast! At his age, he probably struggles to keep up, is really sore after each gig and then has to go out and do it night after night after night. I say bravo to him for creating the music in the first place and for trying to keep playing live to follow his passion in life.
His snare pad is the most abused piece of hardware in music history. And his second bass pedal might be the least used piece of hardware in music history. This man is a true enigma

I love how Robert is just so humble and he's just still glad to be in the band so he just doesn't say anything......And maybe smiles occasionally. He doesn't want to intrude. Straight up man of integrity right there. Same with Jason Newstead! Metallica always has bass players that don't want to piss anybody off more than they absolutely have to. Seems that's the way they always end up LOL.
"They've all got guitars, drums and bass..."
And Justice For All: *cough*
I swear he was on some acid bruh
"Know why that's cool, cuz it's different"
"That's all it has to be is different! Then it's cool"
"And then it's not the same..."

"It's impulsive, and it's momentary, and it's living life in the nanoseconds, it... it's freedom. It's America. That right there is freedom in America."
"... 2 problems with that... You're Danish, and we're in Canada.."

Yo that actually makes alot of sense when you account for how they had to babysit him through it all. Like Hetfield recapping the issues with him being Danish and in Canada lol
Whut?
Ryan Lewis eh. I didn’t even notice honestly.
I kind of understood what he meant until James said "Right, if it's the same it's not good" but what the fuck is he trying to say with these last sentences
The way James Hetfield makes fun of Lars really cracks me up.

The best part about this whole thing is that James is just joking around and Lars gets all philosophical and serious about it😂
Two men five feet apart speaking into microphones.📣
With all the amp hum and the fact that they are wearing earplugs, or in-ear monitors, yes they talk into mics.
purplemonkeyelephant bingo. Especially if you’re practicing for hours on in, no need to blow your voice talking over the feed back, hums, random riffs, etc.
@@SonOvThunder Nah, even with the hum and ifb's you don't need to speak into the mics in that small of space. I've been in metal bands for 30 years, that is a sign they don't like each other anymore.
Nah with custom moulded in ears with the max attenuation filters in them you’d definitely have to raise your voices a lot to hear each other. They block a lot.
Also neither Hetfield or Lars are gonna wanna mess around putting his in ear out and back in constantly (which would also wear them out more) or blow his voice out shouting all day to be heard.
In ear monitors block out exterior sound.
Why is Lars standing out front of your house ??
Because He doesn't know where to come in...

Lars Ulrich is a bad drummer for the level he is playing at. He would be a decent drummer for a local band doing club gigs. But at the level Metallica are on and for the prices they charge for live shows he is absolute garbage.

Someone with a brain. A rare sight on Metallica videos.
Giving people credit isn't cool or trendy. Easier to shit on one another. SMH

Metallica is unusual in the sense that the band relies on James' rhythm guitar for timing rather than the drummer.
@@blpptkinda like with the Beatles and how Ringo basically relies on the rest of the members singing and playing as like a metronome even more difficult when it comes to live performances because when they performed on the Ed Sullivan show Ringo had to rely on their body movements because he couldn’t hear them

The only reason why Lars is in Metallica all these years and no one can do anything to him is because he was rich as a kid, he founded the band and immediately hired a lawyer to seal the name of the band and everything the band did as his property. Unfortunately, the other members of the band had to put up with him all these years, regardless of all the beautiful things, I can't even imagine spending 40 years with a man like Lars.
