    “It’s pretty cool to see these companies are listening and responding to the public” ..... meanwhile Future Motion invited me out to test the pint before launch and didn’t make ONE change before shipping the product. If anything they changed the firmware adding a bunch more pushback than Bodhi and I experienced while testing. WTF.

    • @slydogstroh
      @slydogstroh 4 года назад +12

      I’m convinced Onewheel (Future Motion) will start to really loose market share and sales if they don’t make significant changes to the way they do business. Either that or come out with a significant upgrade next year. Just a new battery isn’t enough with all the 3rd party innovation going on now. (Chibatterysystems).

      slydogstroh ya they’ve been having a lot of problems, and why would anyone want to get a one wheel from a company that doesn’t listen when you can get these amazing EUCs from companies that care

    • @BuckeyeNE
      @BuckeyeNE 4 года назад +5

      Really funny how I was told "With onewheels you pay for build quality and customer service" meanwhile new boards keep getting delivered dead-on-arrival with no choice but to ship it back cause 3rd party repairs aren't allowed. Then you've got ewheels who have replaced people's entire wheels due to manufacturing defects and who sell every part for every wheel they stock if you need them, plus same day response by their support. Onewheels were cool at one point but now the specs are dated and they are miles behind the safety warnings of the EUC (I mean at one point they had an official speed leader board....for a device that relies on self balancing...) Also, I absolutely love your content.

    I know I'm tardy to the party, but I fell in love with my first onewheel last year (after seeing one in public and watching some of ur videos), and bought some more used ones, but after learning more about FM, I sold all of my OWs that had pairing, leaving me a 4209 and a v1, and got myself a v11 to diversify my portfolio a bit.
    I hope you realize how impactful your "why I'm sending back my GT" video has been. VESC is getting enormous attention and I've seen quite a few people canceling their GT orders and citing your video as the reason.

    Nice comparison vid thanks Jimmy. Between you and Marty, I’m going with the V11. At 63 years under my belt I’ve mellowed out quite a bit and realized that my body (despite the power of my mind) doesn’t bounce back as quickly as it use to, so range, smoothness and stability is what I’m looking for. I’ll cheer on those rad maneuvers the young whipper-snappers are pulling off. I’ll keep my Onewheel to get that snowboarding vibe out of my system whenever needed, but as a hardcore skier I think the V11 will be a great dry land trainer.

    V11 would probably be it for me. I'm on pavement the majority of the time. Currently have an Msuper V3s+ 1300wh. The V11 would be more of a straight upgrade. About the same top speed, maybe slightly more power, a slightly larger battery, suspension, higher/more comfortable seated riding, etc. S18 is great for what it is, but I wouldn't want to pay that for a lower top speed and smaller battery than what I have (but again, I'm not looking for as much of the off roader).
    I think my ideal wheel would be something like an MSX/MSP but with a bit of suspension (like give the V11 suspension to an MSP). At least a 40mph top speed for some head room, good MSP torque for hill climbing, etc (although I'm honestly not really sure exactly how they all compare in terms of torque between the V3s+, V11, and MSP, but I'm assuming least to most in the order I listed them)

    I've been following this trend for a few weeks now and am interested in getting started with one of 3 models:
    Ks-S18
    I-V11
    V-Sherman
    I wish the sherman had a suspension of would make it first choice. $ prohibitive a tad, full improved weather proofing and suspension would make cost easier...
    S18 with ots lowest range is enough to count it out, although aesthetically it's the most attractive by far.
    The v11, seems like an innovative design that allows for customization, it could be integrated into the Sherman and that would be savage. Sherman Savage... See I did the brain work, the mother copanies just have to get on it.
    Due to the price prohibitions, I unfortunately will likely have to wait 5+ years before I can even own an EUC, I just prey this trend grows in a safe and majestic manner so as to not cause it's own extinction b4 then.
    Cheers 🍻

    I'm convinced suspension EUC is my next wheel (currently using the Nikola 100V). Though i'd love to off-road one day, I just don't do it enough to justify buying a wheel more oriented towards offroading just yet. I'm leaning towards the V11 because as soon as I saw how tall it was, I immediately saw that it could be the most comfortable seated riding ever! Talk about comfortable cruising. Hopefully, someone will figure out how to add pads comfortably to the V11 and I could use it for off roading too one day

  • @Skycharly
    @Skycharly 4 года назад +1

    Nice briefing!!! I think Rebound Dampening is the most important feature for EUCs safety, before all the other stuff about suspension. Once compressed you don't want to immediately be pushed up, you want the stretching to happen in slow motion to keep control of your wheel. Nobody mentions this on the suspension videos, so I wonder if these 2 wheels don't have this feature? If so, an after market shock on the S18 could make a big difference!

    Great review. I'm a bit late to the conversation, but since both units are still being made/sold, I'd go with the V11. Custom motor, better braking, more power, range, top speed, much better headlight, seat available, quality build. I don't plan on going off road, so the S18 doesn't seem to offer anything for the street cruiser beyond the shock. Seems very open too, to dirt, water.

    I'm waiting for my S18! seeing it through Chooch & your video, the anticipation is growing out of control! I ride multi-terrain all day, everyday so my only concern on S18 is how long the battery would last because I do a really hard 20 mile run on weekends and even w/ my MSX, I'm down to half by the time I get back. I'll probably stay on top speed when I'm on road so it will drain the battery fast which is a concern because by the time I get to a trail on one of these, I might be low on battery to pull any fast trail rides like Chooch...and none of the pre-production improvements include battery upgrade or speed upgrade like V11. Crap.

      Ive been thinking forever about which suspensdion wheel I want. I do a lot of trail riding in the forrest. Also I have MSX, so def Ill get the S18 - Chooch videos are very inspiring. Im after jumps, fastmoves on MTB trails. Im not a speedster I want bumpy forrest riding, street riding is boring. Ideallyu Id get the Inmotion and the KS.... But Im not that rich.... Seems the V11 is Urban and practical while S18 is for off Roading fun.

    For me, i choose the Sherman for cruising... Next year. S18 still appeals to me as a replacement for my extreme pedal angle modded Tesla though. Will probably give it till 2022 to make sure that motor wires don't break from being constantly twisted via suspension before i jump the bullet on s20?. till then Tesla will be my light weight wheel in the woods and next year Sherman will be my daily driver. Hopefully till the year of ?S20? Battery grew to say @ least 2KWh without adding weight...graphene batteries anyone :)

    Thanks Jimmy! If you could only have the Nikola or V11 which one would you choose? I can pick-up a Nikola next week but the Sherman, MSP and V11 are all late August into September. I would miss out on the rest of summer riding if I went with my other choices. I am pretty sure I would be happy with the Nikola and I would have it next week. I currently ride around with the MTen3 and need something bigger and faster to help improve my skills. I also want to participate in some 25 mile plus group rides in San Francisco so the S18 is definitely out. Alien Rides had the S18 out on the BAESK8 group ride and it didn't come close to finishing the 25 miles and none of the experienced riders really enjoyed the ride as it is not stable at speed.

    • @freshlycharged
      @freshlycharged  4 года назад +1

      Interesting to hear but I agree with the evaluation. The S18 is not a speed or long range street wheel. I like my Nikola. I'm sure you've seen my review on my website. My son doesn't like it because he says it's too fat. He's actually saving up to get a V11 right now. In an ideal world you'd try before you buy. Maybe someone in the BAESK8 group could let you try their wheel out. Good luck!

      @@freshlycharged Thanks for the feedback Jimmy! I wanted to hear your thoughts as few have a V11 and a Nikola to directly compare like you did. I believe I would be fine with the wideness of the Nikola. Anything is wider than an MTen3 which is my current frame of reference. I probably should have tried the S18 and Sherman when Alien Rides had them out but I had just started EUC riding at that time. I didn't want to crash on mounting. Unfortunately the formal group rides are suspended until COVID-19 is better under control. I was going to take this opportunity to get better on an EUC so I take the next group ride on an EUC instead of a power scooter. V11, Nikola, MSP and Sherman would make a solid choice so I think I just need to bite the bullet :)

      @@RCDevotee i have the nikola 100v and patiently waiting for the v11 (got my pre order in late so probably a long ish wait D:) what I can say is that the nikola is a pleasure to ride! especially with the 100v, I feel like there is no end to the power when I'm riding. Came from a KS18XL and constantly had to hold back because the hard tiltback at top speed was unnerving. with the nikola, I just keep pushing and it keeps up! the thing though about the nikola is as Jimmy mentioned, it is a very wide wheel and takes getting used to. for me though, the wideness became something i appreciated because it was easier to grip with my legs to accelerate and brake. just my 2 cents!

      @@dannyboy200 Thanks Daniel for providing your great feedback. After finally dropping my desire to get the Sherman as my second wheel I went with the MSP. It was between the MSP and the Nikola and I went with the MSP as the vast majority of the riders in my group ride MSX, MSP or Monster EUCs because many enjoy the speed and we need the range and power for San Francisco hills. At least a few of them are getting the Sherman. I know I would have loved the Nikola but I just wanted to have a little bigger wheel for long range cruising. The V11 was also on my radar but I want to get used to the ride of a non-suspension power EUC. Have fun out there!

Crampons style amount of magnets would be according to amount of pull you want, if pedals are magnetic a strip attached to sides of shoe would give good traction placement they hold pretty well, like all could do bicycle, board, and so on

    • @katehedin
      @katehedin 4 года назад +5

      Hi. I'm the chick in the video. I am 5'4" ... I found the placement of the wheel on my leg for the S18 to be more comfortable than the V11 (even though I liked riding the V11 much more). The V11 was quite tall, and ended up hitting me on the boney part of the side of my knee (not painful, but not exactly comfortable), whereas the S18 hit me just below my knee on my upper calf/lower-leg, which was more comfortable or at least more familiar to what I ride now (V8 & V10F).

    • @steveharris3627
      @steveharris3627 4 года назад

      Kate Hedin So... If it was your money (probably is)... Sounds like you are saying that in spite of the 18 being a bit more comfortable/familiar you would still go with the V11? Do I have that right?

    • @katehedin
      @katehedin 4 года назад +3

      @@steveharris3627 , You know, I'm not sure. ... After trying both of them out (the video above), I was thinking that the S18 would be a better option for me--based mostly on the size/ergonomics for my height, and also because it was lighter than the V11, which is beneficial for someone with a small frame/weight like me. But then I learned that the production/consumer version of the S18 is going to be heavier than this prototype, making the 2 wheels pretty much the same weight. So, now I'm back to being unsure. ... Luckily for me, David (also in the video) is getting the V11, so I'll get to try it more and see how I feel about over a period of time.

      @Ribeye Robert D this review is really helpful. They give a nice orientation to the choices you have by classifying those wheels. But in the end you must really test them to know, because you could do road on the s18 on tricks on the v11, but they perform differently. It's up to what you like. I personally will do road on the s18 on my way to work but also wild ride it on the weekends and I need my wheel to be able handle my rider's needs (roller blade, hockey, downhill biking... I know what I want and that I could be extreme some times), and crazy ideas. There's my comment about this review

    You guys should do a comedy skit like Cheech & Chong! LOL! Anyway, after watching the video, I think my next suspension wheel will be the V11. I ride mostly paved bike trails, so the suspension will be great as the wheel rolls over each pavement section. At high speeds on my V10F, I feel those bumps between pavement section sort of introduce wobbles at high speeds because each section are of different heights. I'm hoping there will be a V11F by next spring.

    Hey Jimmy, I have a question for you about the pressure pad on the XR. I recently got my XR about a week ago and for some reason, every time i try to get on my board it doesn't want to activate right away. I'd bring the board up right but then the nose would just hit the ground and then I'd have to bring up right again and then it would activate after a couple of tries. It tends to deactivate when I'm going slow as well (around 1-2km/h), even when I'm just standing on the board. It just deactivates even though i'm not lifting my heel. Could it be that I'm wearing insoles and it causing a flimsy connection? That's my only guess so far. I don't think it's my weight because I weigh 132lbs so it should activate no problem. I tried my brothers pint to see if it'll do the same and it works just fine. Can you please answer this question for me because I don't want the board to deactivate while I'm riding one day. Thanks!
