You can always rely on Mike for a usb flash back step by step. It might not be your motherboard, but it's definitely someones motherboard! These videos helped me alot when I bought my MSI b550 tomahawk, legend... cheers..
Nice looking motherboard, nearly bought same as upgrade from Rog Strx B450 but wanted usb c io. Subtle differences but you inspire confidence every time with your thorough tutorials. Thank Mike and Kath 🐈👍
Thanks a lot for this clear and instructive clip, Mike! I can't wait to receive my PC parts (including the ROG Strix B550-A Gaming MB) to build my first DIY computer in the last 30 years I use them! I've just found many useful videos for this endeavor on your channel so keep it that way!
Been trying to update for the past few days, used maybe 4 different sticks, I’ve heard usb 2.0 is preferred, I’ve done every other step when installing correctly, should I just buy another stick on amazon? Light stays solid on every single stick
@@mikesunboxing i actually ended up just manually updating from a stick in bios since it failed so many times, it worked out with that method, my flashback reader might just be defective
Hi Mike, i have a Question and its: should i remove all the component(GPU RAM SSD ..... ) before updating the Bios or its ok to do it with ??? thank you very much
I'm waiting for your ASUS Prime B650M II-CSM BIOS guide until I do mine to find the courage to do it. Can you also fire back the board and post it to see the result that would be great.
I got AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU and a ASUS ROG Strix B550-A Gaming Motherboard. Pc part picker says I need to update the BIOS will I need to do what this video says?
I got the 5700x3d and it would not let me into bios. i had to swap the cpu back to my original 3600 and download the right mobo bios update and it worked!

I tried everything step by step. I also tried flashback and through bios and I'm having no luck. It keeps telling me this is not a bios file but it's the one I downloaded from Asus for my motherboard and I extracted and renamed the file and put it on my USB after formatting it to a FAT32.

I updated my B550-A just last week to the latest bios. Asus's default settings are absolutely garbage. I was down almost 3,000 points on Cinebench R23.

is it on a bare board? have you double checked you are using the right BIOS version and named correctly

@@mikesunboxing It's a CSM board so it will be around for many years (at least 3)

yes if it is older stock that hasn't been updated at the factory

@ixtreme89 Could you install it from windows or did you have to usb update it?
Thanks so much Mike.
thanks for watching
I often wonder to myself if you can use the Bios USB port for regular Devices in Windows, Have you tried it out at all?
yes the port works as a normal USB port when not being used as a flashing port
A tip for b550i owners you need a cpu mounted to flash bios unlike some other boards. Cpu not matter new or old.
which motherboard are you referring to?
do i download all the downloads ? Or just the newest one ? I did not understand that part of your video when you were talking about it ?
just the newest one
Where do i plug my usb stick if it doesnt have a bios label port, but it has a flashback button? I have the asus prime b650 plus
the lower of the tweo usb 2.0 ports (black ones)
Thanks

worth doing it anyway to get the newest security patches
Can I do this with CPU and RAM installed? Thanks.
yes you can
Help i just updated my bios and lost around 10% fps, what can i do?
turn on XMP again?
Does this work with usb 3.0 stick
yes it will
I bought this motherboard yesterday, and I see an orange dram diode on the board, don't know what to do with it, shouldn't I update the bios?
no take out the RAM and try one stick at a time in slot 2, one might be faulty or just not seated right. If it was a bios thing it would hang on CPU
Hey how did you solve ur Problem ?
What's the difference between A and F?
not sure off the top of my head but likely PCIe changes and more or less USB ports

Can i use my phone to download the bios and put the bios to the usb??
maybe if the phone supports USB OTG
@@mikesunboxing Ohh okay, thanks for replying
I updated my B550-A just last week to the latest bios. Asus's default settings are absolutely garbage. I was down almost 3,000 points on Cinebench R23.
yeah the BIOS defaults usually are optimistic or set for stabilty rather than performance
Can you show putting the drivers and bios on the same usb drive.
there isn't much to show to be honest. You can have both types on the same drive if you like, it won't harm the drive or make the flash not work
mine doesn‘t even blink
check your power connections
