I just bought an SKX007 and a 009 both for around $350 each. Was happy to pay that price given how beautiful and iconic they are. I have watches in my collection that are way more expensive than that, but the utility I get out of my 007 is way higher than some of the more expensive pieces. I will never sell my SKXs.
Changing the time and other interactions are part of the fun of these watches. Just purchased SKX009 J2 and will purchase the SKX007 Japan version hopefully soon and through that one on a Nato strap. I also have a turtle and love it. Love the desireability of the SKX's. Can't wait for it to come. Enjoying this journey. Thank you for your video.
My father has one like this, but the SKX007 one, and boy that watch was 17 years old. He bought it the same day I was born. Seiko never fails to impress me. Btw nice watch.
I get what you mean about the seiko 5 Iv owned the SKX007 & 009 gutted I sold them currently trying to buy them both back I actually dived with my old 009, currently wearing the seiko SRPH15K1 Land turtle but it’s not scratching the 009 itch trying to get one all original below £300 is hard work Atm, I got the seiko 5 gmt the blue and black versions both are great, nice 3 week update, just subbed 👍🏼
Sure I own 2 skx 007 & 1 skx 009 these watches are icons, to mod a skx is a sin & having a leather strap on a dive watch I find strange a bracelet or a rubber strap looks great that's my opinion all the best.
You trade substance for with the 5kx. The SKX is ISO certification, 200m, screw down crown, beautiful engraved case back with The Great Wave of Kanagawa replaced with a piece of mineral glass on the 5kX and even the jingle jangle super comfy bracelet made the skx loved by so many collectors. I’m sorry but how is this newer watch better? Oh yes the movement! So the new one hacks? Why would you ever need hacking on a highly inaccurate movement? Hate to break it to you but both the 4R series and 7S26 aren’t the most accurate movements. So hacking is a moot point. Yes but you can wind the new movement! Really, you feel that having to wind the movement 30 times is faster than shaking the watch 3 times to get the 7S26 movement with the “magic lever” going is easier ? Seriously?! Yes the new 5KX may be prettier but so much has been lost.
