    Any way you can look into shaman next? There's so little information about shamans in tbc, in particular enhancement. I know you got contacts in those spheres, very interested to see what you find out. Thanks for the content!

      @haldir108 3 года назад

      I remember elitist jerks having a LOT of focus on weapon speed for enhance. I remember encountering three-dimentional graphs from sims of various speeds and damage. With WF (aparently) having an internal CD of 3 seconds, you wanted to make the ones you actually got to matter, which made slow weapons MUCH better than fast weapons with equal DPS. Early in TBC, it was believed certain thresholds of haste were actively detrimental (as in, your actual DPS would decrease with certain thresholds of haste, for certain weapon speeds), but as i remember it, that idea was later refuted. Go read the Elitist Jerks archives for more info.
      In a raid environment, your purpose is to provide as much uptime as possible on unleashed rage, while totem twisting, and not run out of mana. Key talents are nature's guidance, totemic focus, totemic mastery, thundering strikes, enhancing totems, shamanistic focus, flurry, and every single talent in the 5th row and deeper in the enhancement tree.
      Your yellow attacks are already hit-capped from talents, so your first goal is to get close to 100% uptime on unleashed rage (28-32% crit, can be gained fairly effectively through agility, even though it gives you no AP), and then stack AP. At the same time, aim towards getting expertize where you can. Armor pen is comparatively low value for enhance, since unlike AP, it doesn't boost your spell damage (Mental quickness), or increase your mana gained through shamanistic rage. In T6, the relative value of Armor Pen increases, since it acts like a multiplier on your other stats, and you no longer have (big) mana issues.
      While leveling up, just put points into enhancement that improve your damage or personal sustain. Delay your DW until you can get 3 points in DW Specialization (lvl 43/44 at the earliest). From level 50 to 70, You can put points into elemental. Just keep in mind that your spell-crit will be very low, and your mana pool is small, so talents like elemental focus, elemental devastation, and even reverberation (faster OOM) might not be as good as they seem. (Though elemental focus is still good)
      Totem twisting is pretty much the same as in classic. You put down WF, then immediately AGI, count to 8,5, and repeat. Also make sure you have STR totem down, and mana spring. If it doesn't interfere with your important totems, ensure you have water shield on you. If you are CERTAIN that it is safe, searing totem is very mana-efficient damage. If it doesn't interfere with keeping your totems up, you Stormstrike on cooldown. If you don't have the flame shock debuff on the target, cast flame shock. Otherwise, cast earth shock.
      You need to maximize your use of shamanistic rage, which needs to be evaluated on a per-fight basis. While you want to use it together with your cooldowns (bloodlust, racial damage boost, trinkets, ETC), you also don't want to use it at the start of the fight, when you are at full mana. (And in most long fights, you want to use your short cooldowns early, so they will be up again before the fight ends). Therefore, a great enhancement shaman knows how long each fight will be, and plans how he can stack shamanistic rage with his other cooldowns.
      If you aren't using shamanistic rage well, then the consumables cost of maintaining enough mana for all fights becomes much much bigger.
      For specific quest gear, i can't help you much. I got in late, and just got decked out in badge-gear (even wearing all leather, at some point).

    late to the party here but starting TBC prep. You make a good point around 26:50 on the 1-shot macro: If it's not functioning then we use swing timers similar to classic. A possible option may be to add a cutoff line (tick) on your swing timer to show the point at which casting another steady is a net dps loss.

    got server first hunter (missed server first overall to warlock) to 70 in tbc by just rolling straight into zangarmarsh to skip the bloodbath that was hfp lol. just grinded in those sporeggar caves and then netherstorm on those ethereal guys. have a feeling that it wont be so smooth sailing for tbc classic now that everyone knows to skip the first zone.

    Let the guides and hype begin! Even though for some weird reason I could never play a hunter past lvl 12, I love how thematic a class they are with their pet management, second only to Rogues IMO (pickpocketing, lockpicking and poison making make them no.1 in that aspect). Can't wait for the other class guides!

    Just remember, when the TBC prepatch is released, all ranged weapons have their dps increased (because RAP from agi is halved). So ranged weapons like Rhok'delar go from 44 to 53. Slavemaker goes upto 67.5 dps. You can check what all range weapon dps goes to by looking up the vanilla item within a TBC item database.

  • @filippenic6599
    @filippenic6599 3 года назад +5

    There is more in-depth thing about hunter, for example this macro you showed there is 1:1 macro, meaning you do 1 auto shoot and 1 steadyshot and you block any next steady shot until next auto shoot is done. This is more mana efficient macro but deals less damage done on target, good for survival hunters. There is 3:2 macro which doesn't block your steadyshot, more mana consumption but more damage done also, good for BM hunters. Ideal ranged weapon speed in both cases is 2.7 - 2.9, ideal speed with haste buffs should be 1.7-1.9, everything below will clip your autoshot. So if you're BM hunter and you use 3:2 macro, you should NEVER use Rapid Fire - Bloodlust - Drums of Battle - DST proc - Haste potion in the same time. You should experiment with every of this Haste buffs and see how you can combine it, if not you will clip your autoshots, do less damage, use cooldowns for non reason. Right now i'm playin' hunter on Atlantis server Karazhan realm. Also you should use Ravager in raids until your critical strike is at 30% atleast when fully buffed, then you take Serpent for eternal breath spam :D

    • @Melivilth
      @Melivilth 3 года назад

      Yeah 3:2 was the best option towards the end of tbc. Otherwise it wasn't particularly hard to do 1:1 without the macro, but if you mess it up a lot it destroyed your dps. For bm weapons the two best were the gun from Kara then the gun from the world boss and that was it.

    Minor correction: BM will be actually the least desirable spec in arena late into S2 and after that. It can still work in a double dps setup (such as Enh-BM or Shadow-BM), but at that point MM and surv basically become the main arena specs, especially considering drain comps (the reasons vary from higher resilience on opponents, pet scaling and enemy focusing pets, value of Scorpid pet, value of Silencing Shot/Wyvern sting, Enh becoming less powerful as the xpac goes furter etc.).

    The boar pet slide did not include the Gore ability and I believe it was worth commenting on how important that is for a pet as good as the boar is at low levels. The only catch it had in Classic was the lack of a focus dump, and in TBC they gave it such a good one like Gore is.

    If you will only be farming in the open world, I'd suggest getting the Zangarmarsh PVP trinket, Mark of Conquest. 54 AP, chance on ranged hit to restore 128 to 172 mana. This trinket only requires lv62. It's a great investment early on.

    On the Pet Progression slide: There shouldn't be a need to tame a wind serpent in TBC; Lightning Breath 6 can be learned in ZG. However, you should be waiting to tame your final Ravager until Level 64. You want to tame a Dreadfang Widow (Terokkar Forest) for Bite 9 and a Scorpid Bonecrawler (also in the Terokkar Forest) for Claw 9 (and Scorpid Poison 5). Then tame a Rip-Blade Ravager (Blade's Edge Mountains) for Gore 9 (and Dash 3 if you didn't get it at level 50).

    Been reading up on TBC stuff (damn you Kargoz) and I've seen a trend of having a priority on countering damage based pushback.
    If this is a real problem in TBC raiding could you include something about it when you do something on a healing class or dps class that it'd affect?
    I'd love to have more info than just "get it, you need it" lol because most cases it's 5 talent points.

    Heroic presence apply 1% hit (not melee hit?) to you and party member. Considering this is a leveling guide primarily, I was expecting you put draenei as top race for alliance? 1% hit is awesome when questing through outland and is a safe bet in case you don't have an other draenei in your group in raid situation. If you expect a draenei in your group, then sure Night Elf first, but why dwarf over draenei for 2nd place then (I'd prefer a 1% hit buff all the time then whatever dwarfs can give in pve, no ?) Was just curious to know your opinion.

  • @Raphael11001
    @Raphael11001 3 года назад

    Although Aspect of the Viper is fantastic at regenerating mana, especially at low mana, the goal is to never use it and get your regen some other way, as AotV severely reduces your dps while it's on. Ideally you want a paladin keeping JoW on the boss for the whole fight. JoW + fel mana pots should be enough for average length bosses. Alternatively, you can put a Shadow Priest in your hunter group. A SP means you will never ever go OOM, but there are better dps boosts if you are stacking hunters in 1 group, like enhancement or feral.
    Misdirection works on the next 3 shots, as SV you usually cast Aimed Shot + Multishot with it. If you only cast Multi and it hits 3 targets it will consume all 3 charges.
    2 Hunters casting Misdirection on the same target cancels the effect (removes the buff). At some point this got fixed so that you couldn't cast it on a target that already had it on. I might be wrong but I believe it was somewhere between the Zul'Aman and Sunwell patches.

    At 13:45, the picture says hunters get Exploding Shot at level 68. What is that even? They don't get it.

    What about Blood Elf Mana Tap combined with Vipersting, isn't it a great Benefit vs Mages and Palas on PVP?

    i gotta say, crab was absolutely crazy. That thing grown so huge on 70. It was almost as big as that AQ mount^^ Made people laugh whenever i went :) I was using hem for my tank pet and boy he was great. I mean, on paper turtle seems like best tank but turtle only have bite ability and it rly struggles to keep an aggro as a tank, but crab with spamable claw was just perfect in holding my aggro. And it rly works nice if ur draenei like i was since u can do naru+mend and make ur tank pet op as fk. Soloed tusker at 68 in nagrand like that while most of other hunters couldnt finish qst line without getting group help.
    Also note that if ur pet can use multiple abilities like claw and bite, sometimes its bad idea to turn them all on. Ur focus reg is just gonna sink your pets stable dps. It all depend on your gear rly and how much crits u can push into pets focus. While lvling having only claw on autocast is perfectly fine. Once u get some gear and get better crit percentage then u can turn autocast on bite as well,etc. In that regard serpents would be ultimate upgrade when u have rly rly good critability.

    None of these guides help with how to train the pet, what "talents" should they have or prioritize? I never know if it's Stamina, Armor or Both at lower ranks. Any help here would be great!

    I feel like I would really enjoy hunter but only if I was using a bow. I would be too bothered by having a crossbow or a gross gun I would want to not play anymore
