    Now THIS is a good druid guide. I've been a lifelong druid main from vanilla to wrath, then quitting the game and since then playing on private servers. I've watched many leveling guides, and this is the best one yet, because of all the little intricacies you mentioned. Things like Mobility vs. Killspeed, or Moonglade as a second Hearthstone. The importance of Thorns and Sealfhealing in Multi-Target scenarios, the very detailed Damage Rotations in different scenarios etc.. The Druid class has alot of finessse to it, and you covered a significant chunk of it, so big props to you and all the amazing druids that helped putting this guide together. ;)

    As a little side note, on the Horde side, they can get a quest at the Crossroads at level 10-11 from a Forsaken Alchemist. It requires getting mushrooms from the oasis NW of the Crossroads with no combat. The reward is a VERY nice staff to have at that level and makes defeating Lunaclaw a lot easier.

      @KentAustinHenry 5 лет назад +3

      @@nathan7401 You can google wow classic front shredding and you'll see results. But I'll summarize what these threads said, basically when front shredding/stabbing you'll move into the mob and be able to perform attacks from behind, while being in front of them, the mob would then back peddle and you would repeat the process. This was possible due to the old hardware and latency of Blizzard's servers, this has all been removed due to newer technology that has reduced server data transfer. So basically this option is no longer possible due to the change in hardware.

      certainly worth at least checking out.
      I spend way too much time gaming, and I can tell you that Classic WoW is one of the most diverse games ever.
      Diverse as in the amount of different ways you can play your character, but also the sheer amount of unique things to find in the world. You just never know what cool new things await in that group of trees over there, or that cave in the distance.
      On the other hand I think a lot of people will be turned off by the sheer difficulty compared to modern games. That does motivate you to get your friends to play it, though :)
      PS: One tip though, unless you know you want to level as fast as possible, just take it easy and do what you think feels most interesting. Max level is by no means the only interesting part of the game. The best way to find out if the game appeals to you is to just do whatever you feel like, ignoring if it makes your character stronger.
      And if you don't find anything you want to do, maybe it isn't for you.

    What professions do you recommend for a druid?
    Can you use engineering toys in forms? Blacksmithing doesn't seem to be much use for a druid, either.
    Skinning and herbing can be done in forms, so I see those as more valuable than mining as gathering tools. Besides, on a gatherer, skinning pairs better with either so you don't have to swap tracking.
    Leatherworking pairs well with skinning, and druids probably benefit from LW more than any of the 4 leather/mail classes because of how little they depend on their weapon, meaning their armor is more valuable in comparison.
    Alchemy pairs well with herbing, and can be a good source of income, or a good source of potions for going resto.
    Then you can do tailoring + enchanting (again, good for resto) to get bags, make use of what you get in dungeons, and help yourself level enchanting. Or mix either of those with skinning or herbing.
    Personally, I'm planning on going Herb/Alch. That way I can farm herbs in cat/travel form, and I can make mana potions for when I heal.

    Great video. One point, though; it is terribly inefficient to fly from Moonglade to TB. The flight time is around 6:30, which is much longer than it would be from a lot of locations. Stonetalon > TB flight is much, much faster than portal to Moonglade, walk down to flight path, fly. There are more remote locations where it is faster, but for the most part you want to avoid that flight.
    Alliance have it a bit easier here; Moonglade > Darnassus is a fairly short (~2 minute) flight.

      It was fun, especially if you embraced your flexibility. The stealth makes world pvp and going afk great, bear form has insane survivability and can aggro mobs off of allies, and you can heal and provide excellent ranged DPS as needed. Not only that, you get great buffs, HOTs and DOTs, and burst too. It's like the Pu Pu platter of WoW: lots of flavors in one package. So long as you're good with regular shape shifting, it's great. If you don't like the idea of having to dynamically shape shift to be viable in the grind, then it will come off as weak or tedious.

Thick hide synergizes really well with feral tank because once you hit 40 all of your armor is multiplied by 360% (3.6). So multiplying your armor by another 1.1 is gonna be really good.

      I believe this guide is mainly focused on cat leveling, and has nothing to do with tanking dungeons, so the reason he chooses feral aggression is because of the 15% damage increase on the ferocious bite finishing move. Has nothing to do with the demo roar portion of the talent.

    • @KeeperOTG
      @KeeperOTG Год назад

      The main idea of having a Druid tank is that your 5-man group lacks a warrior. Nobody is tanking a dungeon as a bear form if a warrior is in the group.

    I absolutely loved leveling my druid in Vanilla (as feral), and even more when I started raiding (as healer). I loved the class quests, even though most people think they were too long or ridiculous. I found the class over all something that I would feel very connected with, and I took the way they looked and worked very seriously. I created a macro that would switch between each of the forms as I clicked it, then end with her saying "Sorry, I'm having a bit of an identity crisis." :D I always kind of wish they had given druids a just for fun ability to switch to aqua form out of water, and you would just flop about for a second before switching back.... just for fun! :D
    p.s. the only thing I will miss from current WoW is the way you automatically switch to aqua form when you are in travel form and run into water, because I just travel form every where and it's so nice not to have the extra couple casts.

    • @bbjygm
      @bbjygm 6 лет назад

      You can make a macro for your travel form that casts aquatic form instead when swimming, so it's the go-to travel button no matter where you are!

    The only guides I trust for Classic are yours. The amount of time and research you do for each class is awesome.
    The first guide of yours I watched was for priest and I thought it was a bit excessive at the time. Why weave melee hits between wand shots? I later discovered first hand on Classic full release that it’s actually quite important to know these small nuances to each class.
    Also, I heard things like front shredding and the Rogue counterpart of front backstabbing were exclusively a private server thing, is this info true? Keep it up!

    Man I can't wait for this. I always loved Druid in both the EverQuest games but when I shifted over to WoW for whatever reason I played about every class BUT druid -- the way it was designed seemed clunky to me, rather than a classic 'red mage' it was like 4 totally different half-baked crappy versions of other classes wholly separate from each other in my eyes. But now I know better, they're my favorite class in WoW as well and I can't wait to sink my teeth into the adventure I *should* have had 14 years ago.

    Feral druid dps is the highest hybrid single target class. Also they excel in pre-bis gear because the bis weapon for feral druids is getting multiple gnomerang 2h maces that give an attack speed bonus (3 charges per weapon). In MC and BWL they can top 5 in the dps meters, and get almost all their bis gear by AQ40. They fall off in Naxx tho... Not to mention giving 3 percent crit to your bis melee is great for raiding guilds.

    Hey dog, great info; thanks for making this. One question though, do you honestly think it would be worth it to carry around additional pieces of gear for regen as a Druid when their regen is already so good? I feel like inventory space is some prime real estate when leveling and the less space you have the more time you spend at vendors and the more time you waste fumbling around with your inventory aka the less stuff you can vendor for that $$$
