Hey guys Toyhouze here with another guide! Hope some of you are enjoying atlantis' new server Karazhan, I saw some of you say hi to me on Alliance side and it an awesome launch. Anyway, today we're going to be talking all about professions. This guide is massive. I've got all professions, primary and secondary, and all of the specializations. As always guys there are timestamps for you to skip to the profession that you care about and if you find this guide valuable at all hit me up with a like and a sub. With that out of the way, let's get right into it!
TBC brought some welcome changes. Depending on what profession you choose, you have benefits exclusive to you from your profession. This includes Jewelcrafting only gems, bind on pickup items, and also the Consolidation of consumables. There's no more Dire Maul buffs, Songflower, Ony head, Hakkar Heart, and changing layers not to mention be online when they drop, it's much more streamlined to prepare for raiding. Just grab some food, 2 flasks, and you're pretty much ready to raid. This means that professions are where it's at for getting ready for raids. In total, there are 3 secondary professions and 10 primary professions. You can only have 2 primary professions and there are no limits to how many secondary professions you can have. Jewelcrafting is the new profession in TBC and it is really cool. Let's talk about the secondary professions first, because they are the most straightforward.
First Aid is one of the three secondary professions available to all players in WoW. For players who don't have healing spells or who aren't also undertaking Alchemy as a profession, the bandages, like Heavy Netherweave Bandage, created by First Aid are among the best ways to heal yourself in battle or while out in the world without food. Overall, due to the fairly low number of materials necessary to power level it, First Aid is a worthwhile skill for everyone to have capped.

Armor specialization bonus wasn't added until 4.0.1, so for some classes (hybrids mostly) best in slot gear doesn't always include their own armor type. For example Tribal leatherworking and tailoring are both good options for a resto shaman to get that +healing gear. Tailoring one offers a bit more +healing, but lacks stamina. ;)

Fun idea for a video that I haven’t seen yet is a reputation/profession/spec guide. I’ve done a lot of research trying to figure out which profs should focus on which reps and try and line that up with the best reps for my class/role. For example I lvl enchanting on my healer. I want to focus on the healing ring enchant and the +healing enchants. But which reps are going to be top priority?

Rogue is my main and mostly i farm stuff and send it to the lock for crafting. In BC i'm thinking to get JW. Would it make more sense to unlearn Herbs on the rogue or on the lock? • @GideonAI

At 1:01 you said "there's no more Songflower buffs", but the old comments from around patch 2.3-2.4 indicate that as long as a character lower than level 63 first activates a Songflower, then a level 70 character can come along and obtain the Songflower Serenade buff. Might not actually work in TBC Classic but thought it was worth a mention.

I think one thing you missed from engineering , it should be close to required for hunters IMO due to the guns and highest ammo (but thats my opinion).
but for me one of the biggest things to craft is the 'cloud gathering' helm, (you put it on your slide, but didnt say how important this is) this is something that makes a killing especially when the wind clouds get released, but even without them you can make 50-100g just running around gathering them an hour.

How are high level recipes handled in TBC? The most annoying part of professions for me in Classic is that you can get to max level in a profession but you then you need to farm bosses or mobs for ages just to get your recipe before you can make your item(s). Is this the same in TBC or are more high-end recipes also available directly from trainers?

Wouldn't be 'high-end' if you could just learn them from trainers.

Swords are not the greatest choice for shamans in BC :P Also i think that the only good specialization for rogues is hammersmithing, due too weapons speed, swords with 1,6 aren't viable for mh/oh with this class. One last thing - i saw many hunters with bloodmoons/2x 1h bs axes, so it's even more than rogues can benefit :)

@@Toyhouze Afraid it wasn't the only one. To add to, and to summarize the comments; Shamans can't use swords, BoP benefits from professions existed in Classic, flasks persist through death, Shamans can wear leather, Mooncloth Tailoring is also very highly recommended for most healers, with the expection sometimes being Paladins for their BoP gear leading up to tier 5, Teldrassil has a higher density of herbs as well as Tauren's Herbalism racial. I'd also be curious to see the source of your fishing chart, as it does not feel accurate in my own personal opinion.

    A little story about my tbc experience as an enh shaman;
Tbc is very enh weapon unfriendly. I struggled especially on offhand weapons. Why?
    1) There are no enh weapons among rep rewards, we are the only spec excluded
    2) Blacksmithing weapons were BoP and restricted to specialisations, and afair, also mh only or unique
    3) Karazhan enh weapons consist of a fist (mh only), and axe (mh only) and a mace (unique afaik), meaning you NEED the mace for offhand (never dropped for me)
    4) SSC and the eye offer 3 weapons, all dropping from the same boss (Alar). They include a fist weapon set (mh limited to mh (duh), oh being fast. as well as an axe (never dropped for me)
    5) BT/MH offered an axe (unique), a fist weapon set (again fast oh) and a mace (never dropped for me)
    6) SWP patch lifted a lot of these restrictions, but that was at the end of tbc
IF blizz decides to implement the swp patch upon release, BS is awesome as enh as you will be able to get a super good weapon for each hand, so long as you grind the mats.
If not, be prepared to get your arena game up if the loot gods aren't favourable, because their weapons are all that's left

Doesn't have all healers (maybe a bit less pala) Listed as tailoring being BIS - Whitemend competes or beats with t6 gear and primal mooncloth beats most all t5 gear. And its not close. While expensive its like 70-100+ more scaled healing than t5 gear Enchanting is 40. It worth two professions itself until t6 where its still competitive. Issue is in sunwell it loses its usefulness, but thats pretty much all of BC. You can get 2-5 pieces of gear pre raid or at least pre t5 that last the xpack until the last raid. Thats nuts.
    Their usefulness is class dependent.
Resto druids set bonuses: t4 bonuses are good, but the stat difference aren't close (there is the problem basically the stats from mooncloth and or whitemend are so much stronger t4 can never compete.) t5's 2p is useful in some situational and the 4p is useless. And again the t6 only the 2p is good.
Priest t4 2p is really nice for some fights (almost forever); t5 is pointless (its just blah); t6 is okay.
Shaman's t4 not worth; t5 not worth; t6 poggers (also part of why shamans end up prob best raid healer and all around just really good by the end of sunwell).
Paladin's t4 is trash (I know some nice meters); t5 4p is pretty good tbh and as mooncloth and whitemend gear lacks crit and you really want crit i could see just skipping tailoring or greatly devaluing it; t6 is nice.
Whitemend particularly while being very $$$ is way way op.
