I just recently had my first major drone crash with my Mini 2. It is now a submarine. That said I have 2 options. 1. I can order a Mini 3 Pro and bind it to my N1 controller. 2. I can replace the Mini 2 with another Mini 2 and have my full fly more kit again. I reached out to DJI to see about just getting just the drone and battery and they are working with me price wise to make this happen. As much as I want a Mini 3 Pro it makes more sense to get another Mini 2 since I already have all of the gear for it still and I also have an Air 2S so I already have capabilities of the Mini 3 Pro and then some. Thanks for the great video Jake. This was a great comparison and very informative and actually helped make my decision firmly.

Took my new mini 2 to the Himalaya's and boy did I miss obstacle avoidance ;-) But if you are a little bit careful and surely considering the price.....imho the Mini 2 is the perfect drone for beginners.

Thanks for the comparison! I just realized that DJI has really put a lot into the Mini 3 Pro. I know the price is a jump relative to the Mini 2 but for all its features and capabilities, I still think the drone is worth the amount you'd pay for it!

I don’t have the Mini3 I’m satisfied with my Air2S, MA2, DJI/FPV. The mini 2 I use to scope new places.

Very informative content as always! For beginners, the Mini 2 is a pretty great drone to start with, considering the price is cheaper than the Mini 3 Pro. But the Mini 3 Pro's obstacle avoidance can be a great help specially for beginners so for me, the Mini 3 Pro can be a great beginner drone too.

@@JakeSloan I would disagree on the whole obstacle avoidance aspect being the best for new flyers as they come to rely upon these sensors instead of flying more skilfully … I’m by no means an expert flyer of drones but have had my mini 2 for a year now and not one single scratch on it. In my honest opinion you’re better off learning without the obstacle avoidance to teach the correct way to fly and how the drone reacts.
When you move into more trickier shots like flying in between trees for instance, the obstacle avoidance is there for a back up but should rarely be needed. Please don’t anyone take offence from this as I think the obstacle avoidance has its place I just think it dumbs it all down a little … does anyone see where I’m coming from? Oh and yes I am going to be buying a mini 3 pro when I have the spare cash available 😊 (I’ll reiterate that I’m not saying that you’re silly if you need the obstacle avoidance all the time, I just think it takes a lot of the skill needed to fly a drone without the sensors. Both awesome drones.
I like the POI lock on the mini 3 pro to be able to get amazing cinematic footage, with the subject totally centred at all times - some of you great flyers who can keep that object you’re filming completely central then kudos to you. The gimbal is even controlled automatically for you when using this option so you could easily say this is dumbing it down for my wants from the 3. Happy flying from the uk 🇬🇧 🛸 💨

Hey Jake! Not sure how I missed this one. One of the top performance metrics of Mini 3 Pro over it's predecessors and it's competitors, is stealth. Compared to the whiny buzz of Mini 2, the pitch/sound pressure for Mini 3 is incredible, then consider its size & light grey visage we have an invisi-drone! The Mavic 3 + Mini 3 Pro provide almost surgical levels of aerial imaging tools; from Super Stealthy to Super Cinematic, I feel invincible! Now just add a helicopter and a glacier and I'm "being Jake Sloan" (I like to dream as big as Alaska!)

Two of the best entry-level drones out there! Whichever you pick is okay but if you can afford it, the Mini 3 Pro plus the RC controller is the way to go

That’s correct. I wasn’t able to do a good sound comparison this day due to the wind but the mini 3 is the quietest drone I’ve ever heard
Great video! Time has moved on, and I'm looking at replacing my DJI Mini-2 with a Mini 4 Pro to have better image quality (albeit that it still has the 12 mp sensor, which is just slightly larger than that of the Mini-2). One frustrating issue is that my DJI screen-equipped "Smart Controller" for the Mini-2 and various older Mavic models is not compatible with the Mini 3 and 4 series, which implies a significant financial loss if I sell it second hand (it's obsolete). Replacing all the drone gear every 3-4 years does get a shade expensive. Greetings from Switzerland!

I think I gonna be getting the mini 3 I crashed my mini 2 a few times cause not sensors and I really like the follow feature.

for £24 you can get litchi app for proper tracking, just be aware of the surroundings before using it. mini3 actually only has fron bottom and back, no side sensors

I'm a beginner looking to get my first drone. The main issue for me is the 4K60fps in the Mini 3 for my slow motion shots. How much difference would this make in the 30fps Mini 2?

can you do a comparison between the Mini 3 and the Air 2?
Unfortunately I don’t have an air 2 anymore (or access to one) but I can tell you the image quality out of the mini 3 is significantly better. But the air 2s will beat it on speed and wind handling
I have the DJI Mini 3 PRO. Is it worth it to buy the DJI - Mini 3 Pro Fly More Kit Plus to have longer flight times? Or the "regular batteries are enough to flight in cities were the flying distances have to be shorter due to WiFI interference.

How do you find the controls / response compared to Mini 2?
I have both the 3 Pro & 2 and the Mini 2 feels much tighter / sharper in controls... Maybe just me?

Hi. If I use iso 100, 30frs, shutter 1/60, plus nd filter and its get a dark movie and without nd filter to light. What shall I do if I want use 30fs and 1/60 rule?

As long as there is a side by side comparison....there is not much of a difference between mini 2 and 3....yes...the hyperlapse...low light capabilities... obstacles avoidance r a great step up....but still not worth the price upgrading...at last it depends upon who is flying the drone and not how good the drone is...I'm still happy with my Mini 2...but if anyone got money to splurge...get the mini 3 obviously 😁

I think the upgrades aren't that significant enough to upgrade from the mini 2, especially because of the price of the Mini 3 Pro. Honestly, if anyone has enough to get the mini 3 pro right now, they might as well just buy the Air 2s which is much better for a few dollars more.

no comparison that is all i have to say. Budget is the only pro for the mini 2. active track alone justifies it. timelapse alone justifies it. I skipped mini 2 as I knew this was coming. but better thn I imagined. Until I lose signal on you
