Yes sir, Thank you very much ❤️
Who cares
Wow amazing video I love it thanks for sharing sir
I was happy to do it there are always people who are too stupid to read or unable to inform themselves on the Internet🤦😂👍
4:32 You made the mistake of saying the Mini 2 has obstacle avoidance instead of the Mini 3.
I have had my Mini 2 for 9 months now. The Mini 3 is better, sure. But there is no way in hell i will upgrade to the 3. Nothing wrong with my Mini 2 and perfect for my use.
I have an se with parabolic antennas and I don’t really see the need to upgrade to the 3. Maybe in the future
@@EarthSouthside I would buy the air 2s, but I don’t think I can because u need a damn liscence where I live to fly drones over 250 grams. The exam is hard asf and really needs dedication and practice and it’s only really worth it if ur really really into aviation, which I’m not. And the exam costs a lot of money. So yea…
@@EarthSouthside tbh the mini se 2.7 k and the mini 2 4k doesn’t really make difference as they both use the same sensor.
@@EarthSouthside yea lol
I’m a professional drone cinematographer using my Mini 2 on paid client shoots around the world. The Mini 2 is more than anyone needs. Beginner & intermediate drone pilots are limited by their knowledge & experience with cinematography …..NOT the drone. But if you’re a super rich dude and money is no problem…..definitely buy the Mini 3. But don’t think you’re getting better video. That rich dude still has shitty composition! I could use a DJI SPARK and get better video than a beginner with a Mini 3. My whole point is invest in your skills….not a more expensive drone! This hobby/profession is the best. I’m 100% hooked. I got my first drone only 2 years ago and now it’s all I think about! Love it.
Great comparison of the these drones. The Mini 2 still has a lot going for it, especially the lower price point. You can't go wrong with either one really. Thanks for sharing Jeven.

Mini 3 Pro comes with the full package built into the controller, has obstacle avoidance, and a different league of picture quality compared to the Mini 2. It's objectively better regardless of people's opinions.
@@fredstead5652 my point exactly.💯 I have the mini se and mini 2 but the mini 3 pro is in a league of its own. To bad I have to wait another month until mine comes but, it's worth it in the long run. 👌✌
I bought the DJI mini 2 as my first ever drone and I love it! Your videos have really helped me learn about its features and how to pilot the craft! Thanks!
I totally agree man it’s good to have ppl explain things in ways that help you save MONEY
The mini 2 is the better value and will satisfy 90% of all users. Plus it works perfect.
Even if you want to get the mini 3 pro I’d recommend waiting until next spring to allow DJI fix all the glitches.
PS. Never preorder or be the first to buy a new drone. Wait 3 to 6 months to let the manufacturer fix all the glitches. I have the mini 2 and plan to buy the mini 3 pro next spring.
My story started about 3 weeks ago. We are planning our coming up vacation and I saw the RUclips ad for one of those cheap camera drones. I don’t know anyone personally who has a drone nor had I ever flown a drone. So I started doing research into what drone I should buy. Gradually my cost began to go from $100 to $300. After giving myself a top budget of $600 I decided to buy the DJI Mini 2 fly more package. After having it for the last 2 weeks I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m totally hooked. Even though I can see the Mini 3 Pro is a better drone, I don’t regret at all my decision. I had no idea how much I would actually love this thing at the time of my purchase. I now know I will probably get the Mini 3 pro next summer and I’ll be able to appreciate the difference between it and my Mini 2.
I have Mini 2 and the smart controller that I got for Mavic Pro 2 now works with the Mini 2…it really enhances the Mini 2 experience,
For me, it's all about diminishing returns. I can get 90% of Mini3 with a Mini2 for half the price of a Mini3. Neither has side obstacle-avoidance so not an issue for me as most videos require side avoidance. Active tracking can be done with Litchi/Maven/Dronetrack etc. I'm sticking with Mini2 for now.
I totally agree with you my friend! Well said i love my Mini 2 and I'm also sticking with this Drone.
True man the way things going maybe they will release mini 4 in next year
for me the only reason to upgrade is low light
Stuff like tracking is way better with sensors and front and back are the most useful ones although side ones would be nice aswell. Tracking is better and easier than via third party apps. Camera is a big step up (10bit, vertical, Cinelike, lowlight). So sure for many, a Mini 2 will be enough. But I wouldnt say you get 10% with the Mini 3
The Mini 3 is a far better drone. Let’s not pretend that the Mini 2 is 90% of a Mini 3. Maybe it’s just your wallet that is at 0%?
Easy decision for me. Ordered the mini 3 pro. Didn't have a drone before. But I love editing pictures that I take with my Sony Alpha 77. And all the advantages that increase picture quality come in handy for that. Thanks for the informative video.
The new v3 is massively superior, no doubt about that, BUT, I'm very happy with my little 2 as is, and I don't take any crazy chances for crash, and the video quality is nice too, so as much as I appreciate all the features and quality of the v3, I'll stick with my v2! Also, I have 4 batteries, antennas, chargers and what not for the Mini 2, and I'm not willing to sell them all cheap just to come up with half of the price I would need for the Mini 3 upgrade. But I love the V3 for sure, wish I could afford it as a second unit! :)
Yea, I would not immediately upgrade if I saved enough after buying the 2. Only if something really bad goes wrong.
I would wait for the 4 now.
Air 2S has been my choice but guess one should "upgrade" to the latest technology. Air 2 must be a bargain at current prices. Jeven your focused reviews stand out from the crowd. Thanks for the detail in this one.
One thing is certain, you are a very capable content creator. I will buy one day mini 3.
Vertical shooting on the Mini 3 makes it essential for anyone who posts to social media like Instagram etc, and the RC controller is great.
Features aren't the issue - it's the price difference. I would LOVE a 3, but can barely justify the Mini 2, even finding refurbs - or Costco prices. My greatest hope is that DJI will update the RC controller to work with the Mini 2 as well (low probablility, but hope springs eternal...)
Ur broke
@@johnbrown4350 Not everyone can spend $1000 on a toy. People got bills to pay.
Good information - I finally upgraded from my Mini 1 to a Mini 2 a couple months ago. I’ll stick with the Mini 2 until the remote ID law is implemented in 2023. Not sure how that will affect existing Drone Equipment.
As of June 1st 2022, there are A LOT of mini 3 owners where their connection to the remote cuts out around 1500 ft and return to home is enabled. This sounds like a problem that needs to be addressed by DJI very quickly.
I thought this was just me. I had the same thing happen on my first flight. Cut out and lost connection at a low altitude only about 50 feet and performed RTH quickly. Scary I never had any issues with my Mini 2. Now I’m sad I sold it for the mini 3 pro.
@@yolandabush1467 How is the Mini 3 Pro? I've always wanted a built in screen, and obstacle avoidance. Is it as good as people say?
@@fredstead5652 the latest update from DJI appears to have fixed my earlier issues. Thank goodness. The built in screen is nice but one thing to note is you still have a hard time seeing it in sunlight and I have not found a shade hood for it yet. Keeping that in mind it is very nice to not worry about my phone. The obstacle avoidance works great but it is not on the side and I’ve crashed already on the side. User error as I was not used to the speed of the drone sideways. Seems much faster then the mini 2 when going sideways.
@@yolandabush1467 This is good to know, i thought it had sensors on the side as well
bought a mini 2 instead of mini 3 pro. i think the price difference is pretty signficant.. if im paying over a grand for a mini i might as well get a air2s. Also the mini 3 pro have a lot of signal range issue, even after the latest updates. This is heavily discussed in many of the forums and mini subreddit. Buy at your own risk, but for the time being mini 2 is a no brainer.. until Dji completely fix the mini3 pro
This is exactly the way I felt, and it's exactly what I did. I got the Air2S.
Thanks for the great comparison. I've been thinking about these exact two drones. Got a DJI Phantom when it first came out (more than ten years ago) and built a couple of quad copters. Since then I've shelved the hobby. It's time to play some more. Side note. If you'd been on a different rock in one of your last clips you could have gotten a pic of Whitney in there.
In my opinion for the price difference you may as well get the Air 2S instead of the mini 3 unless you want the under 249 gram limit. You can almost buy 2 full complete Mini 2's for 1 mini 3 pro. Sure it's better but not for twice the price.
This was a video I was looking forward to, because if anyone understands drones the most, it's you Jeven Dovey😁
So true!
If you are going to use your footage from a State Park in your RUclips video and it's monetized, you must have your part 107. Also, in a state park, you will have to have a permit from the park that takes weeks to obtain and you have to tell them in advance where, the date, and time. They make it almost impossible to obtain with the permit price. If you are not at a park you still need the part 107 to put on the internet for profit such as a realtor filming properties. The work around is if technically it never leaves the ground. If you were to take a thin fishing line and attach it to the bottom of the drone from a drop wire configuration, that means that the drone is attached to ground.
I just got my mini 3 and your reviews helped my narrow down on my choices
Thanks man! I am sooo excited about getting the Mini 3 Pro. I used the Mavic Pro 1 for 4 years now and I need a better drone. I think the mini 3 pro is perfect for a hobby / travel drone captain like me!
I have the mini 2 and use the rainbow app with mine that allows you to use follow me mode hyperlapse etc although I don't have the sensors on the drone as long as you use the sense in your head and fly in places that has no obsticals and keep an eye on the drone whilst flying there is no reason to crash majority of drone crashes are caused by pilot errors and not falts of the drone it's self
An interesting comparison for sure. I bought thee Mini 2 and the Air 2S. Best of both worlds I believe. Thanks for sharing sir.
I have 2 Mini 2's and a Very large commercial drone. I've had the Mini 2's since the came out. Nothing compares to the Mini 2 for price and performance.. I really like them and wouldn't by anything else..
Great video! Im gonna use the Mini 2 for some time, and then see if I need the upgrade to the Mini 3. Love your content buddy, keep it up. Love from Norway
Great vid man👍👍🔥
That mini 3 looking real sweet, even if it’s next to the mavic air line! Love hearing your insights on these drones, I’m confident about potentially investing in the mini 3! 💯✔️🔥
I have never sceen no one explaine functions better than you. You should make operation videos for other drones. Be great to have you show how to get best out of cheaper drones
As someone that owns the mavic mini the mini 2 and the Mini 3 pro now for a week I can honestly say the mini 3 is in a class of its own I like all my drones but this Mini 3 pro is much more powerful than the other 2 mini's and is closer to my air 2 s and actually does better in low light than my air 2 s.
this sums it up nicely. I have a mini 1 with jpeg only. Mini 2 didn't give me much real world benefits, but mini 3 is a whole new deal with a bigger sensor. I get mine tomorrow
What do you use your drone for?
@@vousouvoyes I have several but mostly using them to film other RC vehicles and planes.
I have just returned from 2 months of travel. Mini 2 is absolutely perfect for travel. Small, light, discreet and cheap. If u crash it, you won’t feel the pain. Plus it’s more than sufficient for 99% of the travellers.
Are you allowed to take it on a plane, stupid question but I seriously dont know
@@Matte9 : yes you can take it as hand luggage 🧳 but do check if the destination country allow entry .. example Morocco 🇲🇦 will confiscated it at the airport
@@Evoque786 is hand luggage the one you can take inside the aircraft and place it above you, yk thise slot kinda things, or is it the one you put under the plane, that storage area, sorry I forgot which one is hand luggage
Drone in checked in baggage, batteries on hand luggage..
i bought a mini se last year. crashed it in march after like 1000 minutes in the air. i was holding out for the mini3 but that price lol. i got a mini 2. had 2 batteries already. now i have 2 lense covers and extra props etc. anyone on the fence between the se and mini 2, its a hard choice.
It good video for choosing drone
Use the Mini 2 with the Maven App for great shots ! (Orbits and Cable Cam as well as Waypoint Missions) I love it !
Maven app only works on Apple
@@MrJeffboyers Correct !
Your videos have helped me make better videos for sure. I live in the mountains of Colorado and there is something new to see around every corner. Since I have applied your info and recommendations for making videos, I'm getting more LIKES, subscribers and comments. Thanx for helping me make better videos. YOU DA MAN!!!
Great comparison, nailed exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
The snappiness of the mini 2 is great , My mini3 seems sluggish and innacurate in turns. the mini 3 likes to slide around and drift alot more too. I think its the rotor speed being much lower.
ive had the mini one and the mini 2 and they are both awesome, three is not really necessry for me atm but it looks great!
Your video is really brilliant and clear. Thanks for that 👍🏻 i've been flying drones for a while now, even the 'old ones' like yuneec quad copters, till the new eu-dronerules came up and i bought my mini 2.
I've heard the specs of the 3 pro and sure it sounds great and it is, but for me the mini 2 is justperfect for now, the price combination of the fly more combo, and i bought me another 3 extra batteries so i got 6 batteries for the mini 2.... i'll pass on the mini 3 pro, not just for the price - but also the pity you cannot use ur filters or same batteries... so for me the mini 2 is still 'better' than the mini 3 pro.
I do not do colorgrading, or use it for proff purpose, so i dont need the upgrade of the pro 3. Only thing i'd love to have is the 60 fps instead of the 30 fps on the mini 2. But hey, you have tobe satisfied at a certain point arent ya. Who know's what willcome ia year or two áfter the release of mini 3 pro. And how the drone rules still might change... 🤔
Anyway mate, great review, thanks again for that. Keep up the good work 👍🏻 Greetings from the Netherlands
Just a small correction.. The Mini 3 does not actually have a 48mp camera, it's a 12 mp camera same as the Mini 2. It's a cheat, much like the zoom function is not a true zoom and frankly if the zoom is digital, you may as well do the zoom in post
MP hasn’t really meant anything for years. The sensor size is far more substantial. Along with the insane 1.7 aperture. Low light on the m3p is unbelievable. The quad Bauer also has some utility.
I have both, my advice to everyone is if your not going to acti track buy the mini 2, the only reason you would buy the 3 is if you need sensors. The camera quality is much better on the 2, remember that the 3 is only 12mp upscaled so they are both native 12mp. This guy says impressive states, but they aren't really true or miss leading. For example the write speed, well the write speed is faster on the 3 but it needs to write more, like upsacling the pixels, so the true speed is faster on the 2. The 3 is more for people who really know how to edit, and the software to do it, so that's less then 5% of you. You can also get a much better RC controller for the mini 2.
Well I got the mini 2 with the fly longer pack for a banger deal on Amazon. Yes the mini 3 is better in every way. But it's supposed to be my first drone and I just want to learn to fly and have fun. And for that at that price point the mini 2 is unbeatable.
If I like it, and flying drones is my schtik, I will probably get an air2s after I made my license.
I think a great idea for mini 2 to get best video ever is to fly with ND filter 😉 if you shoot with 24/25 fps use 1/50 SHUTTERS SPEED or if you shoot 30fps go with 1/60 SHUTTERS SPEED to get nice and shaper video 👌🏾 always go with 100 ISO.
the color comparison in the beginning of the video has helped me decide right away to stay with the Mini 2 because who has the time to edit video color after each recording? most of us just want to record and upload it with very minimal editing.
I see you squinting when in the sun, Jeven. Here is a trick you are unaware of. Turn your hat around and the thing you have there is called a 'bill'. It keeps the sun out of your eyes! Amazing isn't it?
Oh man what an effort and job done in only one video. Hands down man. I will buy the 3 pro. Thanks
Mini 3 is next level. Smashes the 2. Make it look like 10 year old tech. Amazing.
Really good review for beginners and novice owners wanting to upgrade.
5:30
Active track has nothing to do with the sensors.
DJI’s previous drones without these sensors had active tracking. Its just that DJI has locked it so that they can differntiate and force you to buy the expensive one.
I have the DJI mavic Air 2 & the mini 2 I don't even know how to edit videos or do anything I just take some pictures and fly it around just to have fun and to be honest I enjoy the little mini over The mavic Air 2 both great drones but the mini just feels like a fun little toy. The air 2 is better if the wind is blowing but whatever. All super fun. I don't think many people are going to upgrade from the mini 2 to the version 3 because it's so expensive to get the combo kit & most people don't need that smart controller🤷
Excellent and timely video Jeven! As I’m getting ready to decide on the mini 2 or 3.
Which one did you get sir?
@@genarogonzalez1932 I'm going to most likely go for the mini 3 pro. I would prefer the Mavic but don't want to spend that amount.
Just got my first drone, mini 3 pro with rc controller. can't believe the shots capable with this.. even in scotland with really high winds down by the sea. this thing just laughed at it and stayed solid. super impressive.
From a lot of videos I’ve watched on the mini 3, the major factor is the transmission strength of the new RC controller. What is your final take on the signal strength of the RC controller?
DUDE!! Love this video. I have the Mini 2 and reallllllly like it. Im very intrigued by the 3 Pro buuut the cost difference is substantial. I appreciate you taking the time to provide a detailed comparison!
Is it just me or does the Mini 2 footage look way more detailed
You have great videos but what you are leaving out is what android or smartphones are compatible with the drones. I almost purchased one but at the last minute found out that my phone is not compatible with the DJI drones. This is an issue that the company should rectify. Buying a high dollar phone to own a DJI drone is not in my budget
For someone that just wants to fly the thing based off height and length range as well as battery life, which would be better?
God question I'm a noobie, hope someone answers
Thank you for breaking it down. I am a beginner and want to save money. So i will go with the mini 2 fly more combo. I think it will do the job for a lesser price. I like the features of the mini pro 3 but its double the price.
Now that the M3P can be flown FPV with the googles and motion controller I'm extra extra glad I chose it as my first drone
Best thumbnail ever! ❤️❤️❤️
Got the mini 3 pro very nice drone big step up from the spark
I wonder why ActiveTrack doesn’t work in vertical mode 🤔 But regardless, I’ll stick with my Mini 2. I paid $749 for the fly more combo at the time, and for the exact same package with the Mini 3, it’s $1229. Almost $500 more! And that doesn’t even include the Smart controller or the Plus battery. Yeah it’s the better drone, but the Mini 2 is still very capable.
I would heavily research both before buying. I picked up a Mini 2 and I am in love.
Great video👌👌 I've had the Mini 2 for nearly a year now and upgraded to the mini 3 now and sold the mini 2.😄
This video is exactly what I needed to make my decision. Thank You for the great content.
I have the 2 and the 3 and would say the 3 is by far my favourite and it's better!
You can also buy aftermarket batteries for the mini 2 that give you roughly another 10 mins of flight time.
Just ordered a mini 3 pro with the freewell ND filters. My first drone, and my first real attempt at photography/videography outside of having a gopro hero 7 black. Always wanted to get into this as a hobby, and possible do some side hustle work with real estate aerial photography.
truly awesome side by side comparison! thanks for posting this!
I`ll keep my mini 2. I have a Mavic 3 for shooting high quality, and use my mini 2 for filming around people and all that really "close and fast" - filming where I always risk crashing (and somtimes do). I prefer to do that with a drone I can afford to crash. As for the mini3 - I would´t mind the camera, I wouldn´t trust sensors not helping me fly in an orbit (with I almost always do), I wouldn´t use follow me and you can´t really use the 47 min battery in Europe.
love your explanations and tutorials of DJI Mini 3 Pro. I also saw a footage you took of my home country Belize. Keep up the positive work. Learning a lot my friend.
Been to Belize a few times. Looking forward to going back again in the future!
Correction the 48 mega pixel is for photos. Footage would be video. Usually 2 or 4 megapixels for vudeos
Thanks man. It's really a choice on values and expectations. When I bought my mini 2, the mini 3 came out a week after. At first I was so disappointed, but considering the big difference in price it made me think twice. Looking forward, I have an intention to level up my drone activities and thinking that mini 3 would be the best option for the person like me who is a novice drone flyer but very ambitious and enthusiastic.
Mini 3 fly more combo for me. More expensive but worth it in the end.
I own mini 2 but I don't hesitate to upgrade to mini 3, the price difference is quite huge but mini 3 is really massive upgrade, better remote, anti bonk sensor and bigger sensor. However so far my budget is for mini 2,so Iearn to fly and record using it and its really fun drone to use. DJI is the best
been waiting for this. satisfied!
Thank you so much👏🏻👏🏻, I will definitely choose dji mini 3 pro, But the price is very high😫💔
Finally decent review. Good job mate
Hello fellow RUclips'r. Brilliant video answering all of the questions I needed to know. I am still using the Mavic mini original. It works well, but I'd like to upgrade. I want the 3 even more now! 😁
I'm still learning about drones, good stuff!!!
I think they are both great I have the mini 2 and it works out fine for me
Great content. Straight to the point. Thanks for the hard work.
Lot's of love from india to you dear you are making a great video on RUclips keep it up. We all are watching your videos and enjoying every moment with you ❤ love your video and your hardware. Thankyou for everything
Very good 👍 excellent! Thank You 🙏
Great video! Lots of professional hints. Thanks!!
I have many years using DJI. I think is time for me to test Autel drones.
I have just purchased the mini 2 to level up and enhance my travel vlogs. I’m going to Jamaica next year do you have any advice for travelling long haul with a drone.
Good video Jeven
Excellent video! Great narration and scripting.
Heyyyy!! That's where they filmed Tremors. Cool
I Don’t get what you’re on about with the colours, the mini 2 has more than enough functionality to stop whites from blowing out and colour saturation also it takes raw still so they can be altered in post.
Only problem with tracking from anywhere but in front is that according the FAA that's illegal because you must maintain visual line of sight unless you have another operator with you.
Nice video, i fly the drone with an tripltek 8" it has 1200 nits, so you can see and fly in sunlight, better than an android phone or tablet, its expensive buth worth. regards from the Netherlands
I’m going to just get the mavic air 2. Price range is right in between these two drones.
Thanks for the vid! Mini 3 Pro it is.
Good choice!
Nice backpack! Have the same shimoda bag 😎
Fantastic, thanks!
Personally, I think the screen on the rc would do better on the top, so that your hands aren’t blocking the screen when you fly.
