That flight time of 45 minutes is absolutely phenomenal. DJI promises to release the SDK for the Mini 3 soon in the early part of 2023, and I am hoping that despite this drone being a newer DJI Fly version, true waypoint mission autonomy will be made possible by Litchi such that all GPS waypoints get uploaded to the drone's memory right after takeoff, allowing the drone to complete Litchi waypoint missions even when there is a disconnect between the RC controller and the drone. I hope Potato Jet posts a Litchi evaluation video for the Mini 3 as soon as Litchi announces the release of its offering for the Mini 3.

I love my Mini 2, really don't want to buy another drone but I like the idea of having a controller and not having to go through the hassle of using my phone, so irritating that the RC controller won't work with the Mini 2, I'm pretty sure they could make it work with it if they wanted to.
Got the same idea with my Mini SE.
I’m in the same boat, I’m saying to myself be content but it would be nice to get a higher angle as well.
Don't get brainwashed by these youtubers, you already have a smartphone for it, the controller is fine, you're great with Mini 2 🤌
@@dicekolev5360 Brainwashed by RUclipsrs? I am an adult, I know what I need and don't need, using my phone with the controller is inconvenient. I have to put it in airplane mode, setup the controller, plug it in, open the app etc etc. Then there's the added risk of it falling when inside the controller. It's a pain. It would be much much nicer to just take my drone out, take the controller out and just fly. I would actually use my drone a lot more if I had a controller like the RC.
@@venom5809 The controller isnt as great as they make you think and has many downsides aswell... Why u need airplane mode or open the app? That all works automatically with my phone. The new controller takes like 30sec to boot up, the screen isnt bright enough for direct sunlight, you dont have maps or have to download it previous the flight via a hotspot. Also no third party apps which are essential for many Mini 2 users from what I´ve seen. I would rather opt for the "old" controller if I had to choose, I dont see the new one being worth 150-200 bucks more
The mavic minis are always the most insane value. When you think about people sometimes paying 500$ more for a slightly better camera on their flagship smartphone and then you realize the camera on this absolutely demolishes it AND it flies AND it has crazy battery life and how incredibly stable it is for such a small drone AND still basically fits in your pocket (kind of). So instead of buying a brand new iphone or samsung you can just buy this and a budget android for the same price. Makes it a no brainer purchase.

7:48 it's true, it works. I used to work as a photographer for junior league sports matches that occurred at a pitch directly next to a stadium. Often after I'd finish work, there'd be a professional game on at the stadium and on several occasions I attempted to get into the staff door wearing my uniform, high vis and camera around my neck. Every time security just waved me through. It got to the point where security even recognised me and would open the gate for me as I approached. Got away with that for 2 seasons until I got a better job.

This video made me feel a bit better, last week I got robbed 90% of my equipment, including my air2s, and I bought the mini 3 because it was what I could afford (the cameras were way more important) and I was really worried the image quality will be really bad compared to my air2s but I'm getting optimistic it won't be that bad, that higher aperture will do the trick
now I'm debating whether to get this or the mini 3 pro
what's to debate?..lol this in the sense is a downgrade obviously stuff/features will be missing because thats what companies do..they cannibalize there products so there is a "difference"....still cool though for sure..but for an extra $200..I would rather have more options and slightly better video quality, no DCinelike option and camera as well even though it has the same size sensor..and probably the most important for safety reasons is this has no obstacle avoidance sensor?..and no active track?..and I think those alone justifies the extra price point of the Mini 3 Pro..even if this is a starter drone for some people..its like...not spending that extra $200 difference worth it?.. like have it crash and break on you because it could'nt avoid an object or building?..for that extra money I would rather have that piece of mind that it has these features..lol just my opinion..

@@foam27 So would rather risk breaking the drone and or have it crash..and then spend money again to buy a new one?.instead of saving a little more for safety and just to have it as backup?..People can be the best drone pilots and yet thats why they design stuff like avoidance sensors for safety reasons not only for yourself and your drone but for other people and things in the environment your flying at....I guess for yourself you can afford the risk and keep buying them if they crash on you..lol...
@@ldmndz4652 there's no risk... I'm that good.😎 I've always turned all that obstacle avoid junk off because it makes it fly slower and reduces battery life. Never had a wreck yet 👊
@@ldmndz4652 I’ve seen videos on the obstacle avoidance it’s not that great. It also has no side sensors. Yea it might help if u we’re going to be filming in a forest flying fast through the trees other than that is pretty much pointless. The only advantage to the pro imo is the different color options and frame rates as well as the active tracking. If u care about those get the pro if not save money and get the 3. At the end of the day if u are worried about crashing u can always get the DJI 1 year insurance at checkout for $50 with the mini 3, giving u coverage for 2 replacements if there were to be a fly away or any damage while still being cheaper than the pro.
This is very good entry level for beginners. But it's so good, wouldn't it eat into the sales of other Mavic series?

Could you make a video to compare old high end drones Vs new beginner drones and compare results. I believe technology had advanced so much that a new Mavic Mini will be better than an old Mavic 1 or even Mavic 2 pro, or the old chunky Phantom drones. Me personally I don't use my old Mavic 2 Pro because it's big and heavy and would like to get a small one instead
I sold my Phantom years ago and sometimes wish I'd kept it, as it was so simple and reliable. I've had newer DJI, as have my friends, and they're an absolute pain now, forever updating, geofencing errors, and my Mavic demands I recalibrate the compass every. single. time. I. use. the. piece. of. shit. I literally hate it, and refuse to use it anymore, but I don't hate anyone enough to gift it to them. In contrast my old P3 could just be switched on, connect the app, go fly. I calibrated the compass and updated the firmware the first day, never had to do that again. The newer ones, it's like every damn time.

I believe it's the same extended flight battery but the mini 3 uses a bit less power than the 3 pro so you get 51min on the mini 3 instead of 47min on the mini 3 pro

Seriously considering trading in the Air2S for a Mini 3 Pro, it's actually got better video quality in low light and so much lighter for travel
In 1 or 2 tests it did but then in other tests the air 2s had better low light video now during the day the air 2s with its 1inch sensor and 5.4k kicks the arse of the mini and its 20mp photos are way better that's not even mentioning the speed of the drone its alot faster and better in wind. In syaing that um planning on adding a regular mini 3 as another drone and getting a 51 minute battery for it as that's insane.

Really unfortunate DJI will probably never release an SDK for the new consumer level drones (Mini 3 and Avata included). 🥵 Makes my Air2s and Mini1 worth their weight in gold IMHO.
