Loved Airwolf when I was young, I even remember having the Airwolf Toy Helicopter which had it on a string hanging from my ceiling in my bedroom, and when you turned it on it would go around in circles with gravity, and the blades turning too. Was great to have, not sure where it is now though and I am in my mid-40s. Great days though.
It’s basically a Bell 222 helicopter, with a fancy body kit. Absolutely nothing on it is functional LOL. I’m still proud to say. I got to ride in it, when it was in Johannesburg. Good times!!
I am sure the photo is still somewhere in a album.
I wish they would do a another series of air wolf , this was my favorite show
Gosh! I was there all those years ago too. Was so excited. Thanks for posting this!
They did a similar publicity stunt at a Pick'nPay in Roodepoort, must have been about the same time.... I remember waiting for hours and finally the 222 did get there but it was only there for about 25 minutes. Good memories of me and my dad waiting the parking lot for this helicopter. Thanks Dad!!
Modified Bell 222. What an eternal beauty, I've dreamed of that helicopter when I was a kid. The toy model still proudly stands at my dear parents place.
Thank You for bringing back fond memories I was in Potch to see it 👍👌👌
what an epic tv show, absolutely epic..Stringfellow Hawk!
As a kid I remembered watching this show I loved it and that howl give me goose bumps
My favorite tv series off all time..(1984-87) Credit goes to Donald P.Bellisario(the creater of this tv series..AIRWOLF)
This is still impressive in 2024. Just wow. Amazing aircraft. Gotta love those Bell helicopters. They are just beautiful.
among my childhood favourite tv shows... airwolf and blue thunder 😁
i'm really crying for that history/nostalgie .. thank you !!!!!!
I remember attending the event in Durban, at the recently opened Checkers / Game centre near Greyville race course. Pierre de Chamois entertained hundreds of onlookers. Looking back at my photo album, ah the memories! Thanks for this!!
Mr BlueJeans ! The only things worse than PDC was 4 Jacks and a Jill, Soft Shoes & Patricia Lewis !
I remember this Pierre de Charmois now that you mention him. Long time ago when i was studying glenwood high durban
Immer noch der Böseste Helikopter den ich kenne nach all den Jahren.Und trotzdem zeitlos elegant einfach ein Top Helikopter.
Love to see that the LADY got the chance to be shown in these events, never saw this kind of footage before, hundreds of people enjoying live in person the magic of Airwolf. Shame that the helicopter couldn't be preserved. A gem of the 80s and one of the most beautiful aircraft designs out there.
This is just a Replica, not the original.
@@osnicalebYep, the bodykit looks slightly different and the rocket pod is completely different.
Man you guys that got to see this beauty are extremely lucky, and this was in the 80's as well , never again will this happen not only here in SA but anywhere around in the world!😍🙌🙌🙌
You're right. Too bad she doesn't exist anymore.
Yeah it will never happen again because Airwolf was crashed after it was turned into a medical ambulance in Sweden
@@roachcoachhelis6387 : *Germany, not Sweden.
After a rescue flight from Berlin to a special clinics in Cologne on 6/6/1992, "Airwolf" got into a thunderstorm and stalled over a forest area.
Her last mission still in the name of good. RIP to her and her crew of 3.
@@luftwolf7405 She didn't "stall", according to the accident report, the pilot flew her straight into the side of a mountain/large hillside!
Thank you for sharing. Still gets the heart a pumping when I see her.
It's the same time about when "Airwolf" landed at Menlyn.. I was like 4yrs old.. stil have a foto with my 3 other brothers..standing next to this Bell 222 aka Airwolf 👌❤️
Airwolf is one programme I'd love to see a remake of!!
懐かしいです。プラモデル、あの当時てに入らなくていっぱい探しました。かっこいいですね😂
There were 2 airwolf helicopters , one was airwolf in black, registration number N3176S, was sold to company in Germany and used as air ambulance and crashed in 1992 destroying. There was redwolf, (airwolf with red nose) registered N1074T, was a Bell 222 aircraft, that was involved in an incident during pwr off run land on April 15, 1987 at 16:30, in Ben Wheeler, TX, was being used by University Of South Alabama. There is a replica,The replica was housed between 2007 and 2015 in the Tennessee Museum of Aviation in Sevierville, Tennessee. It was then sold to a private collector in California, having been further modified at West Coast Customs during September 2015. The replica was then placed on top of a mansion in Bel Air, California. The owner then sold the mansion and replica is now at the Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum, in Compton, CA
What I wouldn't have done to see this back when I was a kid!
The Lady will never not be the most amazing and beautiful looking helicopter. They really nailed the look of her.
well said
It’s basically a Bell 222 helicopter, with a fancy body kit. Absolutely nothing on it is functional LOL.
I’m still proud to say. I got to ride in it, when it was in Johannesburg. It cost my aunt an expensive R250, well in 1987 that was a lot of money 😂. I was all of 7 years old. I remember the day like it happened yesterday. To this day one of the best moments of my life.
Wasn't it sold to south Africa and used as an ambulance?
@@bryfunkenstein it was repainted and used in Germany as an air ambulance, until the pilot accidentally flew it into the side of a mountain in poor visibility conditions.
I am a huge fan of Airwolf and watch every episode as a kid in the 80s. If I would have gotten the chance to sit inside her for even 5 minutes it would be the great time of my life. ❤❤❤
Amazing, my fave tv show as child!
I saw it in East London… was so excited to see it way back then 😂
今見てもAirwolfはカッコイイ
そしてドラマも面白かった、最近はこういう高性能のマシン(Knight Riderも同じく)が大活躍するようなドラマが無い
I was there, 7 years old! Was amazing!!!
I remember watching this show as a kid. Loved it! 80s tv rocked!
The last hoorah!! 👍👍
Before the unfortunate accident that destroyed it. 😕😕😕😕😕
One of my all time favorite shows!!
Great video thnx! Still have Airwolf theme on phone as ringtone 😄
So sad some of the actors not among us anymore...
If I see only a picture of Airwolf I can hear the iconic howl and growl as if its direct into my ear....
