Ok, I don't know if this will be helpful at all, but I will tell you this: I've never been on the NBC/Universal payroll, but I did work for most of the major studios, was on the contractor access list, and had free roam of the studio whenever I was there. I can verify that there was indeed a KITT firebird on the lot, and it was almost always parked either in Transportation (the first lot you were in), or out on the Tour (where the Jurassic Park and FatF vehicles are). I'm a little fuzzy on this part, but if I remember right, the Paint Shop
There's a kit car in the middle of the park when I went to the kid I was always told it was an original screen used car on the tour that was over 35 years ago
That was fun. I worked on the Universal Lot at various times in my career in the 90's. I don't think I had ever heard the tale of the buried KITT. That was cool.
I remember going to Universal Hollywood and they had a KITT you could sit inside and talk to it. They had someone on the other end talking to people inside it. If you asked a hard question or something they didn't know, they would say "I'm sorry, I can't answer that." It was the coolest thing. I grew up with KITT and had a Kitt with a Michael action figure and you could pull the license plate and hear pre-recorded sounds of KITT talking. I miss Knight Rider. Thanks for the memories.
I remember doing that as well. I asked him "Are you the old K.I.T.T. or the new K.I.T.T.?" (With the Super Pursuit Mode) and he simply replied "I'm the only K.I.T.T."
haha yea, it was right next to a giant shark hanging upside down! The KITT car was placed on a jetty or something over water, so the wheels were hovering over water, while the driver and passenger door areas were over a walk way that was effectively "where KITT was balanced". Great memories. The last time I saw KITT on the studio lot, after that attraction went away, was on the side of the road where the studio tram would travel, as it did the lower lot tour. If memory serves me well, it's an area that was staged with Jurassic Park type of props as the tram rolls by, where you can see various parts of Jurassic Park being over run by raptors or something...like set dressing type of materials....the cars parked along that road were random. From Jurassic Park vehicles, old police cars, old TV show cars, and at one time...KITT.
If it was the one on a wooden platform on the water, I saw that in 94. But it didn't talk to you and was in poor condition inside the car. But was still great seeing it in person!
@topgrowthexperts I think I went in the mid 80s. That's too bad they stopped doing the interaction. That was part of the mystique, because the voice sounded very similar William Daniels.

I got a lead for you. There is a Car Museum in Gatlinburg TN that I have seen a screen used KITT. It was the car used when KITT drove by himself because you could see the steering wheel in the back seat and a camera monitor so the driver could see. Hope this helps!
That KITT isn’t there anymore. They got rid of him a few years ago. My wife and I went a couple months ago, and they told me that they removed it for fast and furious cars 🙄
@@corywhite3188 yeah the FnF stuff was there when I went years ago. Sat in a eclipse they used for the first film. Though I thought that they had a second location in Florida? May be mistaken

The one they maybe talking about is the KITT used as an attraction on the upper lot near the Jaws display. It would make sense that the SFX show building would be a storage.
After 40 years... the odds that KITT could be in storage is actually not that unbelievable. An employee being in the right place at the right time. A facility not fully utilized anymore or a storage location owned by a now defunct entity, which had traded hands. The Automan car is sitting right next to it lol

Newhall Ave and Sierra behind the Chevron gas station a guy has an extensive collection of unique vehicles. Someone told me back in the day that guy worked on a lot of stuff for the studios. He might have what you're in search of..
This feels like a substantial Knight Rider Historians collaboration. Can you share the details of how it came about? Because Joe just recently said rumors of another at the studio were unfounded. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to know the back (lot) story of what transpired between then and now. Really want it to be true!
I think, I kinda remember, overhearing someone at BronyCon say they saw a K.I.T.T in the basement at the Alamo. It was parked next to a red Schwinn DX cruiser.
Hey, you have a great channel here :-) I'm from Germany, about 80 miles away from me there is a car dealer that deals in supercars and hypercars. And it is also the official Koenigsegg Germany branch. Some time ago, they had an original used KITT in their vehicle inventory for sale. Unfortunately, I don't know where this car is right now. And I don't know if this message helps you in any way, but I have been one of the biggest Knight Rider fans since I was a child. That's why I can 100% empathize with your great desire to own an original KITT. For me this will always remain a dream, as unfortunately I have been suffering from a very serious illness and my time here is only limited because it can't be fixed anymore. Sorry for my less than perfect English, all the medication has made me a bit forgetful, so I'm trying to watch a lot more videos that are in English and combat that. I wish you from the bottom of my heart that your dream comes true. As a viewer, you really notice how much love you put into your videos and your Knight Rider passion. Many kind regards from Germany
I'm 49 now, but when knight rider was a current TV show we visited universal on a holiday from the U.K and they had one of those cars for people to sit in and it would talk to you. I have a picture here somewhere of me in it that my dad took, it was such a shiny black car you can see my dads reflection in the paint as he took the picture. I wonder if that's the car people are talking about possibly being in storage, maybe it would make more sense as to why it possibly survived ?
I took the tour back in July when I went for the first time, and I did not see KIT, if I had, I would have taken 50 pics lol, not a big car guy, but I loved Knight Rider.
First video of your and you sir have earned a new subscriber. Thankyou sooo much for keeping this legend alive. There needs to be a night rider comeback. My opinion best tv show i watched as a child. Still rewatching then to this day. Never gets old 😁
I am a huge KR fan and my younger brother got am opportunity to visit family in the USA in the late 80's. He gave me a photo of when he visited Universal Studios and saw KITT on display.
Ooooh! Wouldn't that be exciting to find this KITT car? You know since you've been on this quest I'm getting more excited and interested in learning more about this car, and I hope you find it! The question that I have, is that if someone has the car and their moving it around and hiding it, that there is already someone that has claim to it and might have plans to take it out of there.
From what we can recall, the last screen used KITT was actually in David's possession. We don't remember much more though. We know it wasn't buried though. One thing we do know for certain is that as far as Universal Studios is concerned, all screen used KITTs were destroyed after the show was finished. Hence why the original Pontiac wasn't in the movie sequel because they didn't initially plan to make a movie, they were just going to end the series. But that's as far as our knowledge goes.
I love KITT, he was so funny and charismatic during the Knight rider series. I hope he is still around, as a woman who was born in the 80s, it will be a huge relief. KITT if I could I would recuperate you right now and call you my own until the day I die ❤❤❤❤❤
A fun adventure, you are so lucky, for a moment i was a young kid again shouting please be in the box. I would still love to goto the site where KITT and KARR had their last battle in hope to find something
It would be fantastic if you found that car,how did you get clearance to roam round Universal? Knight Rider was also done on stage 4,that is where Devon's office was.Very interesting video ,Peri and excellently put together..Hope your wife and baby are okay.Have you asked the Knight Rider Historians, they may know where that car is?
I can confirm kitt was there back in 2010, i spent an hour frozen reliving my childhood while staring at it , i didnt want to leave , leaving was so painful, it was parked near the water world set .
This show was well over when I watching it as a kid but it used to be one of my favorites. I would be so happy if GM made a new version of this but kept the number down
That building used to house the Conan live action stunt show in the 80's, they had a giant animatronic Dragon that came out of the floor. That could be the base of that former Dragon Animatoronic
Iv seen one only last year parked in Newtown Sydney Australia. An old couple were driving it. I was a fan in the day and stopped to check it out. Never seen another one around.
Perry you may not have an authentic screen used Kitt but the one you have is pretty awesome and there’s no reason it couldn’t pass for the real deal as far as making it for everyone to see and experience. I hope one day to see Perry’s Kitt myself. There is only one other Kitt I’d like to see be made and that is an EV that makes the unique Kitt driving sound along with the Turbo Boost sound!
My name is Devan, parents named me after this show lol. They said Devin was talking to Michael thru kitt during one episode and they said they turned to each other at the same time and said Devan!! or something like that. As my future name right before I was born in 89. I'm a mechanic fabricator and I've seen one of these cars in person, I think it may have been a replica but it was a rlly dam good one. I regret not asking the guy to sit in it for a selfie while I was talking to the owner lol. Woulda been cool if you found what you were looking for, but just make one man and make yours even better. You got enuff money? I'll build you one lol.
@@devcybiko my point is that the Capone safe was empty and I do hope that Perifractic does find the car and not an empty storage. To state the bloody obvious
I always see so many people on RUclips that get access to the Universal back lot. How do you do that to just walk around and all that? I’m assuming you have to “know people”?
I miss Night Rider. There used to be a tribute car driving around my childhood city. It was always a happy time when we saw it. There was also a General Lee homemade tribute car. I think the two car owners knew each other because they were in the same neighbourhood.
I know you have a love of Knight Rider but I am sure a star wars screen credit, action figures and computer game placements opens doors that would otherwise be closed to others :)
That may have been where they kept the dragon from the Adventures of Conan show that used to have. It would rise from a pit to on stage and visible to the audience.
The Auto Experience at Dezerland Park in Orlando has two Kitt cars and from what we were told one was used by David Hasselhoff for promotional stuff. They also have the water version of Kitt from the Knight Rider 3000 movie where it’s basically the red car body on a boat frame with motor in back. 👍
In the 90s I was at Universal City and ran across a K.I.T.T. car that was broken down. I offered a jump start but it had a ton of extra batteries in the trunk to run all the lights etc so it wouldn't work. It kinda hurt to find a broken one.
Great video! When exploring Universal, you didn't happen to see a Police Box did you? The amazing TARDIS prop from the 1996 TV Movie has been missing since production ended. Rumours are that Philip Segal, the producer, has it but he's never confirmed that...
I might be confused but wasn’t the hard top from the studio tour used by The Hoff for his tour in the late 90s and is now at Universals German HQ in Frankfurt.
KITT probably didn't have a catalytic converter installed in any iteration. If he did then, that would definitely have been a KITT CAT, and PCB would stand for Pontiac's Catalytic Bonmot. Keep searching, Perifractic, the magic inherent in Knight Rider still needs to be unearthed and hopefully it will not be Michael Long before you find it.
Good luck, I do hope you find it ! 🤞 maybe hunt down the last starfighter star car next 😉 was seen as a prop in one of the bttf movies and was last rumoured to be in France !

Never gets old 😁
it isn't buried but it is in their wherehouse of Movie/TV cars. Might return out of the wherehouse but definatly bit buried.
I am a huge KR fan and my younger brother got am opportunity to visit family in the USA in the late 80's. He gave me a photo of when he visited Universal Studios and saw KITT on display.
How amazing of Universal to let you waddle around there!
They're the best!
Devon pulled some strings. That British accent works miracles!
Watch the knight rider historians they have a fully refurbished Kitt and truck and are working on the trailer
Oh my, this is cool.
And if they ever do another remake, you are Michael Knight!
Thank you. One man can make a difference...
Look... KRH found the Semi and the Trailer, so don't give up on this K.I.T.T. car, you're going to find it aswell 😊
PCB Waaaay from KITT. Well done, sir. Well done. 👏👏👏
I was getting a bit excited there when you found that box!…brill video..thanks
It would be fantastic if you found that car,how did you get clearance to roam round Universal?
Knight Rider was also done on stage 4,that is where Devon's office was.Very interesting video ,Peri and excellently put together..Hope your wife and baby are okay.Have you asked the Knight Rider Historians, they may know where that car is?
Sporting that KRH shirt was awesome! 👍 You gotta look for a set of doors that say "Experiment 3" 😉😁
I can confirm kitt was there back in 2010, i spent an hour frozen reliving my childhood while staring at it , i didnt want to leave , leaving was so painful, it was parked near the water world set .
Proper Car Boxes? Portable Camera Batteries? Partly Closed Backlots? (Just a few more PCB ideas for this one? LOL). Or People Carrying Balloons?
Dude in Lehigh county PA has an immaculate screen accurate KITT. Lives either in Macungie or Emmaus. It's freaking incredible.
Knightrider predicted the world we all live in in nowadays..... driverless cars! 😲😱 Amazing isn't it.
That's a pretty good KITT impression. A bit too high pitched, but got a lot of the vocal qualities right.
The voice wasn't bad, but it definitely lacked the correct accent.
You have no idea how excited I was watching this. 👏🏻
Absolutely amazing edits especially into the studio.
This show was well over when I watching it as a kid but it used to be one of my favorites. I would be so happy if GM made a new version of this but kept the number down
Raiders of the Lost Kitt.😁👍
Great title idea and thanks so much for the support Gregory - it really helps the channel continue. Cheers!
That was one of the best things that I've seen online in a very....very....long time!
Thank you for your kind words! Means a lot 👍🕹
I was with you on the Faulty Towers reference immediately. Such an odd set design (or genius?)
Your production quality it's outstanding, I was wishing you to have KITT just to have those PERFECT shots :)
Keep up the faith Peri...youll find one. Great intros to these KITT videos
Greetings from Italy, I thank you for this video which also shows the Universal studios... and where Kitt was born... a hug for this pearl of video.
Fantastic episode! Thanks for the good vibes! Retrobatteries recharged - for now...
Wow… That was almost as good as Geraldo Rivera finding Al Capone's hidden safe! But much more fun… Keep searching my friend the truth is out there!😊
I hope not! I remember there was nothing in there
@@gerardflach2588 and your point is...? ;)
@@devcybiko my point is that the Capone safe was empty and I do hope that Perifractic does find the car and not an empty storage. To state the bloody obvious
Wow man, how did you get such access! Incredible, this is why I come to RUclips. Can't see this stuff anywhere else!
I always see so many people on RUclips that get access to the Universal back lot. How do you do that to just walk around and all that? I’m assuming you have to “know people”?
🎉.....you oughta look into whatever happened to the miniature KITTs used in Knight Rider....👍👍👍😁
This is supercool and I'm just a few minutes in...! I love this Peri!
Yesss!
I miss Night Rider. There used to be a tribute car driving around my childhood city. It was always a happy time when we saw it. There was also a General Lee homemade tribute car. I think the two car owners knew each other because they were in the same neighbourhood.
In Gatlinburg TN, they have a rear driver with wheel behind the driver seat. The place is called Star Cars.
When you looked at that electrical room I had flash back of Trust Doesn’t Rust! lmao. Another great video my friend. Keep it up!
Wow you must be special! Given free access to studio lots! Amazing.
I learned it from Spielberg
I know you have a love of Knight Rider but I am sure a star wars screen credit, action figures and computer game placements opens doors that would otherwise be closed to others :)
I also want a kit car but I also want the General Lee and the fall guy Chevy truck. Good luck on your search
I love this channel 🤗
Greets from Germany 👋
Sad to see Hill Valley square been half built over D: I know it got badly damaged in a fire but still... Its so iconic :(
A lot is still standing - more soon!
Aww man you had my heart racing at the big wooden crate part 😂
Imagine how I felt!
Calm down.
The real convertable one too.
Thanks for the nostalgia such an amazing car
In the 90s I was at Universal City and ran across a K.I.T.T. car that was broken down. I offered a jump start but it had a ton of extra batteries in the trunk to run all the lights etc so it wouldn't work. It kinda hurt to find a broken one.
If this was an episode of knightrider.......it would be an epic action packed 3 parter! 😉👍
Great video! When exploring Universal, you didn't happen to see a Police Box did you? The amazing TARDIS prop from the 1996 TV Movie has been missing since production ended. Rumours are that Philip Segal, the producer, has it but he's never confirmed that...
I did not, but time will tell...
I might be confused but wasn’t the hard top from the studio tour used by The Hoff for his tour in the late 90s and is now at Universals German HQ in Frankfurt.
That is incredible to get access like that! Good job putting this together
It,s so nice on how Knight rider had telecast bac, in the 80s & each episode was awesome & i don,t know if Goliath is at universal studios as well.
Oh God the 'wrecking ball' incident - and the train crash - hit me deep in the pit of my stomach! :-O
Good luck, I do hope you find it ! 🤞 maybe hunt down the last starfighter star car next 😉 was seen as a prop in one of the bttf movies and was last rumoured to be in France !
