Each movie / tv show segment starts of with a ~5 seconds clip taken from that show / movie. See if you can guess which show or movie and which vehicle will be included in the segment.

You are free to comment on what your favorite was which I missed, but PLEASE stop telling me what I missed in the video.
NOTE: I said the Coyote X stunt car ended up as the Knight Rider 2000 PILOT, as in the series, with the Knight 4000. And that's correct.
Fingers crossed for Mad Max Interceptor 🤞
@@xazylsclubhouse Yup it's in there, well the Mad Max 2 Pursuit Special
Bandit trans am or Fall guy pick up.
@@miniexplosian1231 bandit will be 70s, fall guy is in the vid
Smokey and the bandit 2 and 3 were 80s. Does anyone know what happened to the other cars in Dukes of hazard ?
I personally think Airwolf is the most beautiful helicopter up until this day! , the music , that sleekness, the beauty , that howling sound , the turbo blast the way she sits on her wheels and the way she retracts them when taking off, the chain guns and the cannon and the way she let's them out for combat , the speed and the way in which she flys so smoothly , the secret cave where shes hidden and the way Hawk flys her and drops the vizer on his helmet before blowing up the enemy!
NAILED IT
AMEN!!
I thought Jay Leno owns all of them 😀😀😀
Totally agree.
I agree.....
Was gonna say, you missed The Rubber Duck, The Bandit and Snowman, but then I realized that these were all in the 70's. Now I realize that I'm just old.
But you did miss the Cannon Ball Run Lambo
Bandit 2 and 3 were in the '80's. I'm partial to the '81 Turbo Trans Am
I loved Knight Rider, The A Team, and Airwolf! Those were some great TV shows, and nothing today will ever be as iconic as they were!
same here. A child from 79 lol
Never missed an episode of any of them
1973 kid. A-Team, and Knight Rider were my shows.
80s was best time to be a kid by a mile. Huge Knightrider fan
Follow KnightRider Historians :)
@@GenXToysGeek I do 👍🏾👍🏾
Absolutely right. Nothing like being a kid in the 80’s.
Even better being a teenager in the 80s
You left out one of the coolest TV cars of the 80's, Automan's super car, a Lamborghini Countach LP400. The definitive car of the future!
there was no info to be found on that...
I was thinking about auto man myself lol
I came to the comments to mention automan as well
@@toadford Ditto....
Double ditto!
Still get goosebumps when I hear knight rider theme. Born in 72, Such a great time to grow up.
likewise!
I said something similar I’m born 76 and love that theme song. The only rival for me is Miami vice . That was almost as good.
👍🏻72. Me too.
A-Team and Knight Rider were my favorite. 1973 kid. The best of times.
Back when kids were kids.
One of the things that many people seem to skim over or not pay enough attention to really notice about Airwolf: She has a learning computer and adaptive computerized flight controls. As seen in Moffett's Ghost and Mind of the Machine, the computer is linked to every system. Combined with a few moments involving Dom, who often talks to the copter as if were a person, and the occasional times when you can hear snarling/growling, it's possible that the onboard computer may be developing a sort of AI of its own, or have some basic one and is buiding on it. I've always thought that was particularly cool.
I wondered about that. I will have to rewatch the DVDs that I have of Airwolf. Too bad the show did not develop that part. It would have been something for Stringfellow, Dominic, and Archangel to have Airwolf start talking to them using two word sentences which would have had Dominic start helping Airwolf develop the ability to use full sentences.
Yes it was the definition of true A.I.
so glad i was a kid in the 80s. There are just no shows like these being made anymore in the last 20/30 years
could not agree more!
I was born in 81.loved watching the A-team and Dukes of Hazzard the good guys beating up the bad guys and out smarting the police or whoever is chasing them . Out running them with the black van with BA behind the wheel or General Lee out fixing sheriff Rosco
Welcome to the woke generation/era. LOL
@SciFi Author B.L. Alley Yup, it's pretty much woke. LOL
@SciFi Author B.L. Alley "[...]treat the audience like we are all stupid[...]" - to be fair, the vast majority ARE stupid enough to just mindlessly consume whatever garbage they are fed by the so-called "entertainment"-industry. Why else would we see remake after remake after reboot after remake? And don't even get me started on the whole in-your-face socio-political BS shoved into today's "entertainment".
There's a reason I have been hoarding pre-2000s physical media - books in particular.
Street Hawk was one of my favorites in the mid 80's. I'm almost 45, pure nostalgia, thanks for the memories...
Yes mate u remember street hawk too...I loved that show and the theme tune....
@@jaysmith6327 the Street Hawk main theme is the song "Le Parc" from the album of the same name from the band Tangerine Dream :)
I saw it here in New Zealand at a display, good childhood memories
There were a lot of cool vehicles from the cannonball run films. Might be worthwhile to do a video on them. Also, hands down, The General Lee!
What a great selection of 80's vehicles of all types. The General Lee will always be my favourite. The 80's will always be the very best decade to have grown up in. Not only did they have the best TV shows, but films, music etc etc.
No doubt about it. There will never be a decade like that. The general Lee is tied with the Trans Am from Smokey and the bandit in my opinion both gorgeous cars.
I'm from S.C. and I love the General Lee. I hated All the controversial stuff that led to the flag being removed. I grew up with the original GL and color shouldn't matter but I'm African-American and a flag ain't never done nothing wrong to me. Yeah it sucks they took the Duke's of Hazzard off.
I am trying to decide whether it's just old man nostalgia in me or those times were really that good. I'm leaning towards the latter.
General Lee is in stiff competition with K. I. T. T. for me. Too close to call. And that union jack is inseparable from it. Being Dutch, I'm not sure I'd be allowed and opinion on it these days though 😂
It has to be Airwolf for me, such a stunning lookin' bird. To quote Dominic Santini _"No matter how many times I see her, she still takes my breath away...."_ An iconic 80s TV vehicle not included was Automan's Lamborghini and Helicopter, it would be interesting to know what happened to those.
NAILE D IT
From cannon ball run the black Lamborghini countach?
I loved this list. It's pure nostalgia. I was born in 1979 so grew up with a lot of these iconic vehicles. Thank you for a great trip down Memory Lane.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Totally agree. Im from 1977
Born in '78, and this video just rehashed my childhood!!
KITT was and forever will be the car I want, and Airwolf if I need to take to the skies!
@@EchoesDaBear same here. I alway wanted to have KITT for my car too
Same here man, Sept 12th of 79. Loved growing up in the 80s. Only thing I feel like I missed that I was born earlier to see would have been Elvis alive. But hey you cant have everything, lol
Hey, I was looking forward to seeing the vehicles used for Automan. There was this sparkly ball called "Cursor" that would make Automan's vehicles.
Glad to see Wraith was in your listing too. Good memories.
I liked that show and kept wondering why they took it off the air
Yeah, I was waiting for Automan's Countach the whole time.
I was going to say exactly the same, too. Yep, they would have been good ones to see. Also the original 60's Batmobile.
Great List! The 1979 Dodge Power Wagon from Simon & Simon was my favorite.
The jump the truck did over the sports car in "The Fall Guy" is still classic.
Indeed
how the suspension didn't just collapse on landing is beyond me..... (granted, the magic of editing makes that easy to conceal)
For me the Holy Trinity is Airwolf, Knight Rider and Street Hawk. The three most amazing 80s vehicles. Since I was 5 years old and still a little obsessed to this day.
great pick
I can't pick only 3. Lol
Love the general Lee, knight rider, Christine, magnums Ferrari, facemans Vette, fall guys truck...man, lots of very cool rides.
@@lootent-dan never said you only need to pick 3 :) There are too many cool vehicles in the list to limit it to only 3 :)
@@GenXToysGeek I was replying to a comment.
EXCELLENT video. Thanks for not neglecting TC's chopper and Cutter's Goose. EDIT; you even included Stingray! NICE.
Thanks for the retrospective. Not only were the cars cooler than what we have in modern times but the shows were too.
I stand with Airwolf. The sound maneuver, 80s beat sound and Trademark theme is perfect synchronize. But the iconic howling Turbo jet blast seems like no elite heli fighter can escape from being overwhelmed by just one lone wolf in the sky.
Mannn... No anti radar needed for this
Great pick
And character names like Stringfellow Hauk….
@@JohnMGreiner Stringfellow Hawke :) Who doe name his kid Stringfellow though?
100% Airwolf for me. Recently been on TV aswell.
The 80's was the decade of decades and I'm so grateful to have come of age in that time, so I really enjoyed this trip down memory lane! My choice for most iconic 80's car has to be Keaton's Bat Mobile followed by the BttF Delorian. Thanks so much for putting this video together!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
You ought to take a look at casey putch's real jet powered batmobile
@@jim-stacy just did, sweet!!!
I know it she was called Airwolf, but I always thought that she looked more like an orca that swam through the air.
The Stingray coupe was sold and back around '89-'90 I worked in a classic auto store in Langley BC Canada. The store shared space with a trucking company that hauled primarily for a BC owned grocery retailer. The trucking company was and still is noted for their owner-operator pristine red trucks and trailers. The drivers were very well paid and many had classic and custom cars including the owner of the company. One driver, I recall purchased that 'Vette coupe. He was in the shop frequently as he was an acquaintance of one of my co-workers and although or store didn't specialize in Corvette parts we sold him a few items to keep that car healthy. It could be seen often in the driver's parking area when the owner was on the road. I laugh now recalling as none of us in the store knew the TV show very well, we looked a bit baffled when he told us it was the car from "Stingray". Memory served us when he reminded us of the show. It was a cool looking 'Vette for sure. It may still be in the Langley BC Area today though I haven't seen it since the early '90s.
I wish, I could take the DeLorean DMC12 to go back to the awesome 80ties and never come back. For me these three iconic movies gave me the best memories. A great compliment to you for making this video. Thanks for that👌🏻
Glad you enjoyed!
I’d do the same. Notice how much love all us 80’s kids have for the best decade ever.
K.I.T.T. and AIRWOLF are definitely my two favorites. The replica of AIRWOLF hasn't been on the roof of that mansion for probably two years now. It's currently withering away at the 'Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum' in Compton, CA. I wish I could afford to buy it and have it restored because that museum it's sitting at isn't taking care of it at all.
That I did not know. And agree, would love to own that one myself
That mansion has more swimming pools than some hotels and resort centers by the looks of it.
I love KITT and Airwolf too, they look so beautiful.
Try contacting the who built it 18 years ago so much work went into it it would be a shame to let it rust away like all the iconic working vehicles, not the Airwolf but rescue it.
@@EddieLopez711 sure, got any contact details?
I love them all! But my absolute favorite is Stingray. Im simply gagging over that Corvette! That is when I first fell in love with them.
Knight rider, Airwolf and street hawk were my favourite, as a kid was blessed to go to the cars the star museum in the lakes! Was devastated when it closed!!!! Great video!!!
Blue Thunder vs Airwolf, the crossover we all wanted and never got.
agree!
Airwolf all day
Airwolf, General Lee, and KITT are my three favorites of the 80s! Those three vehicles were the main actors in their respective television series. Very seldom have we seen the vehicles of a movie or television series, be more important than the main actors or actresses themselves.
There's two late 70s to early 80s television shows that deserve mentioning because of the vehicles.... and that's Starsky & Hutch with their 76 Ford Gran Torino. And CHiPs, with their Police Interceptor Motorcycles.
Add the Ateam and u have mines

What about Smokey and the Bandit.. Bandit's Pontiac Firebird is a bas ass car too, imho..
@@Mk156 The first SATB was filmed in 1977. Get it together.
I LOVED AIRWORLF !!! I had no idea wtf was going on in the show, but loved seeing the choppers
It's amazing how some of these notorious Movie and T.V cars get destroyed or scrapped. They should have a Museum for "ALL" of these vehicles....since some of them are just as much more famous than the movies themselves. 👍
I loved many of the movie cars of the 80s, but one of my favorite was the Dodge M4S for the movie Wraith. I'm a dodge fan and back when the movie came out I already knew about this car. Dodge wanted to see if they could build a 200mph 4 cylinder car. They made this prototype sports coupe with a 2.2L twin turbo twin intercooler. This mid-engine car had a tested and confirmed top speed of 194.8 mph. But big thumbs up for Ecto-1, DeLorean and the V8 interceptor. I was waiting for the truck from "B.J. and the bear" TV Series 1978-1981
Was about to mention that car.
Great picks
The mack truck in the movie Convoy was my favorite
I worked for the company that made the airwolf choppers for 3 years
Yep BJ mckay and his best friend bear.
I still love the GMC van of The A team.
would love to own one
80s best decade for tv ever, period. The dukes, A team, knight rider, fall guy, hunter, Simon and Simon, macgyver and others the decade cant be best.
Airwolf will forever and always be my favorite 80's vehicle.
Airwolf was the best looking heli of all time imo!
The story goes, that after filming, the White Lotus submarine car nick-named 'Wet Nellie" from The Spy who Loved me went on promotional tour, then shipped to put into 10 year pre-paid storage in Long Island New York. After it ran out, it wasn't claimed and the undisclosed storage locker contents went to auction. The winner of that auction won it for $100, occasionally exhibited it between 1989 and 2013 and restored the exterior. In Sept 2013, the owner put it up for auction through RM auctions, Battersea, south west London. It sold for £550,000. The buyer was Elon Musk and at that time he was said to be planning on using Tesla motors electric drive train to convert into a functional car-sub as depicted in the film.
Pretty sure I have seen another one in 2012 at Beaulieu car museum in the UK when they had a Bond car exhibit.
Not like I'm a huge Bond fan, but wanted to contribute.
Keep it tuned for another useless factoid, same time tomorrow! 😂

This has to be one of the best well presented and nicely researched you tube programmes I've seen. This is such an enjoyable nostalgic trip through 80s tv, especially if you grew up then. No CGI or other digital effects. Just great looking vehicles and stunt men and women. My personal favourite was the Fall Guy truck. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it!
My favorite is the General. Fall Guy truck is a close second.
@@thomassparks8294 great picks
One of the surviving General Lee's is in an auto museum in South Dakota just off the I-90, it's worth the visit as it's not just a museum for cars but also for many other bits of nostalgia and Americana. Either way Dukes of Hazard is the sole reason that almost every one of that car model from that year is either scrap metal or sitting in a museum unless it was one of the very, VERY few that made it into someone's hands before the producers could buy them up.
This was a great selection, thanks for that. Several other 80s movie vehicles were left out that you could make another video about. I'm thinking the M577 Armored Personnel Carrier from Aliens 2, the Truck and Trans Am from the Smokey and the Bandit Sequels, Wolff's Scrambler from Spacehunter adventures in the forbidden zone (along with many others), The Hovercraft Car and Racing Hydrofoil from Condorman, The cars of Cannonball Run, Tom Cruise's motorcycle from Top Gun, Buckaroo Bonzai's Jet Truck MK III, the National Lampoons Family Vacation Ford LTD Family Truckster, The EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle from Stripes, Axel Foley's car from Beverly Hills Cop, The Porsche & Ferrari from Against All Odds, Vehicles from The Junkman, The Terminator Motorcycle, Ferris Beullers Ferrari 250, Goonies Ford Mustang GT, The VW Bug from Herbie Goes Bananas, The Karate Kid Ford Super Deluxe, the My Science Project Pontiac GTO, The Black Moon from Black Moon Rising, The Armed SUV from Tango & Cash, The Police Interceptor Bikes from Chips, The 1953 Messerschmitt KR175 from Brazil, The Chevy Malabu from Repo Man, the spinner flying car from Bladerunner & Trancers, Ernest Borgnine's Taxi from Escape from New York, the truck from Metal Storm, the semi from Battletruck, the Megaforce bikes and quads, and the Porshe 928 from Risky Business.... Thats a few just off the top of my head
Yea I’m not the only one who pointed out the Trans Am from Smokey and the bandit it definitely belongs.
You also remembered cannon ball run. The Lamborghini in that movie was sick.
CHiPs used Kawasaki KZ1000C patrol bikes, the same as what the actual California Highway Patrol was using at the time (nope! Not Harley-Davidsons... in the 80's H-D was still owned by AMF and their bikes weren't well regarded). Subsequent "TV Movies" used BMW police bikes, also the same models as what was in use with the agency at the time of filming (1990's).
Man! All that off the top of your head and more besides.
@@juliusdream2683 I saw the Lambo from the Cannonball Run sitting in the showroom of one of the few remaining Delorean dealerships in Florida about 15 years ago! "Not For Sale"
This is an amazing video. This tugs right at my heart. Amazing to see what happened to some of our favorites. I have a huge tv/movie vehicle collection. And the 1980s is a big part of it.
I see some on yer youtube. subs+1 will be goin through yer videos
Sigh! The A-Team van and the General Lee my true loves. Bloody hell thank you for making this mate
👍😍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
This is actually a good thing the Blue Thunder Alouettes were not sold to random people, cause it was said they were a pain in the xxx to pilot, as the frontal kit was heavy asf and offset the center of mass by a big amount, rendering the chopper really nose heavy and unstable on fast maneuvering takes...
Knight Rider: Kitt will always be my favorite.
The synth tune of Airwolf just brought a huge grin to my face…
There‘s a K.I.T.T. sitting alone in our huge underground parking garage. Just four spots down from my parking bay. Sitting there with a Knight Rider plate in the windshield. Never seen it being moved in over three years. Seems it doesn’t belong to any tenant here. Every day I walk by it and every day my heart starts bleeding because of the huuuge layer so dust on the car. Every now and then someone writes something in the dust like „Hello“ or „Pig“ or „K+C“. What a waste, what a shame….
❤
Where is this?
Sad indeed...
Fun fact: Airwolf's "cosmetic" additions to the helicopter actually made the aircraft more stable to manage and fly. Blue Thunder's "cosmetic" additions made the damn gazelle so heavy that it made it SLOW, and list off to one side - this is very obvious when you see it coming straight for the camera. All of the practical stunts done with the Blue Thunder helicopter was sped up to give it the false illusion of it being super fast - when in reality, it was slower than someone's grandma on a suped-up wheelchair scooter equipped with a nitro boost.
well ok , but , the Out of the characters these machines play Blur Thunder kicks more ass. All Airwolf had was weapons and speed , Blue Thunder had dozens of tricks up its sleeve!
You are absolutely correct
@@tubewatcher97 uh, Airwolf has about nearly the same abilities Blue Thunder had in terms of stealth - according to the show runners, Airwolf also has espionage and counter-espionage capabilities despite them being rarely used as the primary role for Airwolf was straight up long-range stealth & combat.
Overall, comparing Airwolf v Blue Thunder is like apples to oranges - their roles are very different. Blue Thunder's role was more limited to an urban setting, hence a slightly more robust intelligence-gathering capability. As far as I can remember, BT never used missiles - it's only combat capability came in the form of a chin-turret chain gattling gun, and it couldn't outrun a long-range missile from a nearly-invisible stealth combat helicopter like Airwolf.
Thanks for making this video. The thumbnail photo at 08:45 is mine. I took this while on vacation at what was then MGM Studios. I had added all of the photos of Blue Thunder I had taken in 1999 to the then merger entry for the film. Only two of these photos still appear.

It can be noted that the former Airwolf-copter had taken a severely injured girl from Berlin to Cologne for specialized treatment and crashed on the way back, so it didn't go down for nothing.
Unfortunately, the three occupants on the way back didn't survive the flight into the side of a quarry
I did say it crashed :)
RIP…😪
A sad but appropriate end for an iconic vehicle. It died a hero, and so did its crew.
What a shame,I'm pleased it transported the young girl though. RIP to the people that lost their lives
Damn, I remember sitting in and talking to KITT when I was 5 years old at World Expo 88... better times.
sweet
The 80s was the decade for great TV shows and movies. My favorites were Airwolf, Blue Thunder, and the Dukes of Hazzard. I imagined myself flying those helicopters, and I loved the way the Dukes always triumphed over Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe.
As for other vehicles (and I'm being somewhat obscure here), how about Boss Hogg's Cadillac convertible and the station wagon from Karate Kid (that needed a push start when it broke down)? Just a thought.
Staying with "The Karate Kid" you could include the "1947 Ford Super De Luxe" (the car Mr. Miyagi gives to Daniel).
*Loved the video a FULL LENGTH trip to memory lane but there is a vehicle missing .................The Kenworth Truck from BJ and The Bear*
This was a fantastic video and I loved all the background you tracked down. Lots of great, fun memories, especially of "The Lady" - Airwolf!
Thanx, glad you enjoyed!
Keep in mind, Ecto-1 was restored using donor parts from Ecto-1A (GBII) And 1A was unfortunately left to rot on sony's backlot. People have confirmed that Ecto-1A was used for Afterlife and partially restored/weathered up for the film
Great intel!
Isn't one of them owned by Dan Akroyd?
This video was both a straight up nostalgia-gasm, and an introduction to some more obscure stuff that I now need to watch. Thanks, friend.
Glad you enjoyed!
ha ha ha - I was thinking the same!
Knight Rider's KITT and Blue Thunder helicopter have such perfect designs!
Great Video, I watched all of these Shows and Movies. Good Memories. I always loved AirWolf, Night Hawk, Magnum and Miami Vice theme songs.
Thanx, Glad you enjoyed!
I'm the most impressed that someone revived the Highway Man-truck. That's such a short lived show, but I remember exactly watching it as a kid and admiring that truck the most. My favorite part though was the "sportscar" that would slip from under it. It has a really cool look and I always assumed it was designed off an airplane tug. Would be interesting to see if that survived, too. Also: props to Stallone for getting his car back. He could easily have bought ten similar ones.
It kinda did, but in really poor shape, if not completely demolished by now...
Airwolf was the coolest helicopter on TV! This is a show that needs to be rebooted!
I love how you refer to height as length. Totally makes sense. I just haven’t heard it put that way.
Airwolf. For me that is the helicopter I always remember. Thanks for the video.
She's a beauty!
I remember when Chris Bromham acquired the Street Hawk bike and all the restoration he did, luckily I was there to see it being done.
It only had a tiny fuel tank so wouldn't be able to go very far!
Was also at his house the day he loaded it onto the trailer to drive it to the cars of the stars museum.
Oh wow!!!!
Great round up!
Would loved to have found out a bit more about the vehicles in the 1983 TV show 'Automan' ... like the Tron-ified Lamborghini!
The Ecto-1 and KITT will always be my faves. I've had the pleasure of sitting in the real Ecto-1 when I was a little girl. :D
Great film. My favorite from your list is the Greatest Helicopter: AIRWOLF.. If I could afford it I would buy a Bell 222 and convert it into AIRWOLF.
likewise
I grew up in the '80s. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. I couldn't wait to watch Knight Rider and Airwolf so those two are my choices. I loved the starship in the last starfighter myself. Deathblossum anyone? Oh wait it's a weapon of last resort.
Glad you enjoyed!
Don't forget StreetHawk
I was happy to
See the HighwayMan truck/copter listed as most of these lists forget about this show.
Ecto1! One of the few that is still being used in 2023! My favorite. Don't even need to see it, just hear it coming.
I remember growing up in Poland and watching Airwolf.I always looked forward to watching the next episode. One of the most amazing aircraft designs of all time
Great pick
Knight rider KITT the car of the future. We have cars that talk and drive themselves now
Indeed, indeed
@@GenXToysGeek Also a very timeless design. I really like the KITT car. Its in my list of dream cars. My grandad used to say its so slim and good looking and I agree it's better looking than most modern cars but it wasn't as popular as a Pontiac. They should make a modern version. Abit like Porsche and Land rover same body but better underneath. Would be great.
A team is cool I always used to watch it and Knight rider but the van is a van with stripes and a spoiler. I like it if I was a collector I'd have it or just drive the family and friends around. But it doesn't stand out for me like KITT talks and drives it basically invented modern cars.
I've not really seen any others. I've seen Dukes of hazards and Back to the future. There cool but my all time favourite is Knight rider and A team

Memory lane. Thank you for this video!
Nice list, another good entry would have been "Simon & Simon." There was a 1982 Camaro Z28 with the T-top modified to be a targa and then of course the 1979 Dodge Power Wagon pickup and occasionally a '57 Bel Air convertible would turn up. Would be nice to see if any of these survived.
Airwolf is and always will be the perfect helicopter for me. The sound it made when hitting mach 1.
exactly
Hooooooooowl!!
I also like Airwolf immensely... but it is impossible for a helicopter to exceed Mach 1.
The Bell 222 has to be the best looking chopper of all time. In grade school, while my friends were busy fawning over KITT, I was enamoured with Airwolf. That was my jam!
Right on
me too !!! airwolf never die :)
KITT and Airwolf are my two favorite vehicles ever.
同時期に日本でも「AIR-WOF」「ナイトライダー」が放映され、男子中高生を中心に人気ドラマでした。(At the same time, AIR-WOF and Night-Rider were aired in Japan and became popular dramas among junior and senior high school boys.)
私は今でもAIR-WOLFが好きです。(I still like AIR-WOLF)
''Horses? Where we going we don't need horses''
- said Wright brothers...
And you know what now in 2024 am 40 and am still stuck in those years.I watch them several times an year
All of these bring back a part on my life I remember with great fondness, but of all of them, the one that I love the most is Airwolf, the Bell 222 helicopter. Although the Australian Ford Falcon GT Coupe in Mad Max comes in a very close second!
Gotta love that 80s trip to memory lane :)
Personally, my favorite car from the ‘80s is the Spinner from Blade Runner. Not only was it drivable, but during those pesky Los Angeles traffic jams, it also could fly, hover and go into a hot spin that would leave your noodle bowl all over the dashboard. I have never seen a more elegant vehicle.
Great pick! Unfortunately it's no longer with us.
Oh yes it is. A full size Spinner is hanging in a museum at the base of the Space Needle in Seattle. Deckard’s red ground car is on display at the American Police Hall of Fame and Museum near the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
I loved Desmond Llewelyn as Q, “be careful 007, ITS JUST HAD A NEW COAT OF PAINT”
Your work and dedication to creating this are outstanding! I've watching every video you've put out.
"240 Robert" was my all time favorite 80's series. It featured a Shariff's Dept on the west coast that did a lot of rescue work including underwater and cliffside rescue. Morgan, the hlocopter pilot was The Best using a Hughes 500 modifide for air ambulance. "Trap" and "Fib" would drop from her landing legs over water in full SCUBA gear.
Watching this with my morning cuppa Jody - and what a joy! so many happy childhood memories tied up in this video. Very, slick production too! an amazing amount of knowledge and work has gone into this. Great job!
many many thanx, glad you enjoyed this,
Of all the iconic cars, I'd definitely would love to drive the 89 Batmobile. That would make my day.
how did KITT get such a short showing. that car was so ICONIC
One of the best videos on this subject I've seen. Well done.
Wow, thanks! You are too kind!
Thanks for posting this. I saw the Blue Thunder mockup at Universal in the 90s, I'd wondered what happened to it, as a friend of mine got buzzed by the helicopter during the filming of the short-lived TV series. As for the 'highwayman' truck, I'd often wondered about that. Not many people even remember the TV movie or series today!
Glad you enjoyed. I wonder as well what happened to that cockpit. Hope it's still alive!
Btw, the 2 Gazelle helicopters used as BT were also used as Soviet choppers in the ABC miniseries Amerika a few years later.
Not sure what happened to my original post but just to ket you guys know, there’s a cool die cast model of BT for sale. I bought one on eBay and it looks fantastic
Highwayman truck and Kitt made by the same person - Jon Ward.
because of you i'm now downloading all seasons of Knight Rider
love these vechiles from these shows
I was infatuated with airwolf growing up in the late 80s. My parents were friends with a helicopter pilot who delivered mail for some company in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company he worked for bought a bell 222 and one day he surprised me and took me up in it. I was like 5 or 6 at the time. The best day of my life just thinking about it brings the biggest smile to my face. I have pictures of us going over old riverfront ballpark. Thx for posting this brings back a lot of memories. Highway man I totally forgot about until now but I loved that show too. God this is like reliving my childhood.
You are so freaking lucky! Airwolf was and is my favorite 80's show.
LUCKY!
Great video Jody. Bring back load of memories and shows and films I had forgotten.
glad you enjoyed!
One of my favorite tv shows based on a vehicle was BJ and the Bear. It might of had an influence on me becoming a truck driver many years later.
I loved the show and the truck. I still have my diecast model of the truck that I bought before the show ended. Miss the 80's programming , shows back then was worth watching every week
My favorite is air wolf and then knight rider. All the 80s shows are awesome and wish they brought them back to TV.
Awesome video. I respect the amount of effort you put into researching these vehicles, and what happened to them after their prime time. Thanks. I loved this video.
Many many thanx, glad you enjoyed
Well. If he had researched gyrocopters more, he would have found theyre much more safer than he gave them credit for.
@@siggyretburns7523 I know they are safe, but taking an open cockpit into a battle is not so safe!
@@GenXToysGeek
Oh yes. About that. Indeed.
I thought you were talking about the craft in general.
My apologies.
If I remember correctly, didnt he drop a molotov on himself while flying? Or somebody threw one up at him.
@@siggyretburns7523 he did :) good memory! Before he was shot down...
I was a teen in the 80s and remember pretty much every vehicle you showcased here. Thanks for the memories! By far, my favorite is Christine!
Glad you enjoyed it
It's a shame that so many were destroyed making the movie. I always hoped that they used mock-ups .
Love this,I watched all these shows as I grew up! lol 😂
I was born in 70 and Something has happened to me.
I can't think about the 80s anymore without thinking of Tom Scholz.
It was in 90 that I realized he's my proper medication.
I trust in my higher power to get me the Tom Scholz I require.
Even If You Ain`t A Fan Of ANY OF THESE MOVIEs, The Video Is Just So Enjoyable. :)
many many thanx, yer words are too kind
and the coolest part about the car that Played Ecto-1A is that sony remembered that they had it, got it up and running with a much more reliable LS3 V8 and it became the hero car for Ghostbusters: Afterlife!
did they really convert the hero car into the afterlife car? I hope not... Although the afterlife car is great, the original Exto-1 should (have) remain)ed_ it's true origin.
I only have 2 favourites, Starsky & Hutch 1976 Ford Gran Torino, Bandit Trans Am and. the rest are ok too. :)
You always come up with the cars from the 80-90s, but I'm only impressed by one car that you always forget about:
1.1976 Ford Gran Torino,
2. 1978 Pointiac Trans A,
......
7. K.I.T.T
8. GMC Van(A-Team)
Thanks for the fun and very informative video! I was able to get pictures with and sit inside the drivers seat of both of Knight Rider's KITT and Doc Brown's Back To The Future DeLorean at the Greater Cleveland International Auto Show at the I-X Center (International Exposition center) in Cleveland, OH! And some of the programs and movies you have mentioned- like Street Hawk and Hardcastle and McCormick- I have not seen them but I know of them from Trivial Pursuit trivia game question cards as well! Really enjoyed your video- thanks for putting it out there and thanks for being so concrete on the information on what you featured! Very fun and very informative and brought back a lot of good memories!
When I was a kid, my dad drove a Trans-Am so Kitt was definitely the most iconic for me, however, one you did forget was the Trans-Am from Smokey and the Bandit. I was never a big fan but my cousins loved the Dukes of Hazzard. I still think the most legendary vehicle from TV/movies has to be the Delorean from BTTF though!
Smokey and the bandit was from the late 70s not 80s
Thanks for sharing!
@@ashedretro3334 yeah but they could of featured the ‘80 t/a
@@ashedretro3334 Smokey and the Bandit 2 and 3 were from the 80s.
Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with you there, being that I'm probably about your father's age, and I still have a 2002 Pontiac firebird sitting on my property for that same reason, just loved these cars because that show.
