You forgot the worst destruction of all...by the production company who cancelled the show. 😞
Precisely. There was no recovery after that. No KITT V5... I mean, V6
You mean the production company that came up with the bad remake.
Everything good must end, so it can keep its glory!

that broke my heart
when I was a kid
and
it still does
I still feel sorry for KITT in that episode.
I'm not even a fan and it was sad.
Me too 😢
Would've been even more traumatising if this had been how KITT got his dash upgrade after losing his old dash in the acid. As opposed to getting a missile fired up his exhaust.
Agreed I didn't like that even though I like Garth and Gollith
As a kid watching theses episodes i was heart broken every time KITT was damaged. He was my favorite and i swore i'd stop watching the show if he was ever "killed" and replaced. No one could take KITT's place.
Knight of the Drones was especially heart breaking , i can still remember having tears in my eyes when Bonnie arrives to take KITT for repairs and KITT says it's so dark and asks if it's night and Bonnie reassures him by saying yes, it's night time now.
I cried.
Yep
I would have cried too! I never saw that episode! I wish they sold a Knight Rider RC Collection! A 10 scale KITT, KARR, Goliath and maybe the foundation Semi!
i cried when kitt yelled "no mikey, no!"
I was lucky to missed those episodes at 5 years old!
I would have cry too!
KITT was the car I dreamed to own
Sheesh! I grew up watching Knight Rider as a kid but never was attached to the point that I was crying. But then again, the 80's was the rise of mama raised soy boys/simps.
I only remember the acid one but KITT's desperate pleas for help have stuck in memory for almost 40 years.
I like the mud scene 😁👍🏾
It was toxic waste...
@@MrPAULONEAL no it was not.
Correct
@@bp6329 yes it was, it was mud full of acid stuff.
I can remember watching the Goliath episode when it was first aired and my jaw hanging open in disbelief when KITT got beaten up. To my 10 year old mind it was just inconceivable lol.
I felt the same way about that oversized box of hammers!!
Even in my early teens, I couldn't believe Michael was foolish enough to risk getting destroyed just to try and give the truck a flat tire.
It hit me hard to my twelve year old mind as well😊
haha I remember that episode as well-- I was in disbelief when KITT got destroyed vs Goliath
The hero's journey. The hero gets a beat down, in this case needs to be rebuilt, and is stronger and has more knowledge and makes him a better person. Yes, a Woman can do this too, but in this case one of the major heroes is a Male Auto.
Junk Yard dog when KITT gets put in the acid pit was so upsetting😢
Who else felt like everytime Kitt got destroyed, it was almost like watching a strong adult you knew getting beat up by someone? It was almost like something that should be impossible to happen. And then the joy, when Kitt got put together again...
Such great times.
The 80's and 90's had so many great tv shows and animated tv shows.
I know that nostalgia kind of blinds us and alot of these shows were very cheesy but nowadays most shows are complete garbage, mostly because the writers are bad at their job and can't put their egos aside for the projects sake.
Don't get me wrong, there are still many amazing tv shows but not as many as back then.
It felt like watching the Enterprise go down in Star Trek 3
Wilton knight would be turning in his grave if he saw his creation destroyed in such ways.
Kitt's destruction in "Junkyard Dog" i think was the worst of them all. We actually heard him calling Michael for help until his voice synthesizer zeroed out. That was also the only destruction that took place under liquified mud which was heartbreaking.☹😫😭
That liquid mud looks like it would feel great to jump in though 😁
You can say that again I think I got nightmares I was about 10 years old when I saw it.

KITT's demise in "The junkyard dog" episode is the one that got me so mad/shocked.
4:15 I used to replay that scene as a kid. Dug a little hole, filled it with mud and drowned all my Matchbox cars in it. Great times!

These episodes were intense back in the day. I remember as a kid wondering if KITT was gonna make it a couple of those times.

I always felt bad that KITT was destroyed but it made it cool to think that KITT was in the end venerable which made him even more human than anything
you clearly see they are destroying model cars of kitt😂😂😂😂
I know!!! 😂😂😂😂 As a boy I didn’t catch on to that when I watching it in the 80s and only (YEARS) later when I watched re-runs on television in the 90s and saw clips on RUclips in the 00 noughties did I realise that they were actually toy cars they used in those scenes for those particular storylines that switched to really damaged or destroyed Trans AMs as “KITT” for when David Hasselhoff was in a close up scene as Michael Knight with the different cars!!! 🤭🤭🤭🤭 Just continue to live in the fantasy and don’t make fun of it you!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Although I love the episode "Goliath," I don't think of KITT as being destroyed in that one, just badly damaged. He was still talking and he left the desert under his own power, albeit jerry rigged by Michael.
That’s true. I think in Knight of The Drones he was still talking after being hit with the rocket as well.

Honestly I never would of thought KITT could ever be destroyed. When it happened boy did it take me by surprise. In my opinion two of his worst ones was the acid pit and the one after he loses his protective shell.
He couldn't be "destroyed" but was most definitely disabled
@@williammitchell4417 that is true. And when he was rebuilt he was better than before
The acid one was absolutely brutal. It didn’t just deactivate his program, it ate every internal component. In my opinion, that’s kind of worse than the others.
@@calhoun24 i remember seeing the acid pit one for the first time and was like wtf just happened.
Nightmare 13
What about the episode “The Juggernaut”? That was another one where KITT got destroyed
Thanks, I hated it. But the last one is sweet in that K.I.T.T. injected Michael to save his human companion when he realized he wouldn't be able to protect him or save himself.
And at least K.I.T.T. survived every major hit he took, even if he sometimes struggled during the comeback.
Well that is K.I.T.T's primary function, to protect human life.
Fun fact, The armored "jeep" like vehicle that destroyed kit was also used in an old movie with Ernie Hudson and Molly Ringwald, called 'Spacehunter (adventures in the forbidden zone)'1983' It was the main character's rover vehicle.
Out of all the KITT damaged/destroyed episodes the first one was the best. Not only because the audience had never seen KITT so easily overpowered but because it's the only one out of the four that showed Michael and KITT being own their own afterwards having to figure out how to get back to the foundation. I know it makes no sense that without any tools or know how about turbines Michael was able to rig up a ramjet but the tension was built up really well and seeing KITT come back down on all four wheels and then blast out of the desert at 300mph was awesome then as it is now.
I like how Michael land on his feet after being ejected
And KITT just accelerated to 90mph before that.

Cost cutting. Lol
As a kid I was devastated by it.. but seeing it now makes it so comical and obvious
As a kid watching each episode as it premiered on a 19" CRT style TV, It wasn't as easy to distinguish between the models/miniatures than it is today in HD on a 75" TV. Nice compellation! Keep up the good work!
It was still just as easy. We just hadn't learned to notice things like that yet.
It was easily distinguishable, CRT or not.
They always used an awkward under the action camera angle and you could just tell everything including the environment was fake.
Hated use of the miniatures, that marked pretty much the end of Season 2 being good for me.
Sorry man, it was very easy.
The incredibly slow pace the models moved at, the camera angles and the unnatural looking background made it extremely obvious, the resolution did not fool the eyes of this kid.
I hated the miniature usage, it took you right out of the suspension of disbelief.
I hated it when they did this. Poor KITT!

Felt Really Bad for KIIT seeing it in such condition and situation.
Michael was definitely a air-head at times. He did Kitt bad especially going against Goliath. Common sense would tell you not to go against a semi that has the same protective shield as a car. A car never wins against a semi.
He’s definitely an idiot
Michael: "If we're quick enough, we can knock out his right front wheel."
Me: "What part of 'the truck is protected by the molecular bonded shell' did you not understand? If a guy at a gas station couldn't pop the tires on KITT due to the bonded shell, what makes you think you can knock out that right front wheel, Michael?"
I agree. He can definitely be an air-head.
Lol KITT shoulda took over
The only problem was that they zigged when they should have zagged...
@@fuego09esmeralda LOL, they should have zagged away to fight another day.
I remember KITT gets a nice upgrade after he gets destroyed by the Juggernaut.
Yes he did ,convertable
@@dspencer8827 That too, but I was actually mentioning the super speed mode. Which didn't make any sense, since he widened his surface and air resistance.
But it was the 80's, so we just had fun.
It was actually SPM super pursuit mode! 😉👍
@@mattayres5238 True, they translated to Super Speed Mode in my country.
The destructions that always unnerved me as a kid were the acid one and the Juggernaut, in that order. The one that was just plain dumb in a preventable way was the Hoff taking on Goliath, literally, head on.
The Goliath one was like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
Don't blame Michael. He was a detective not a physicist.
Even kit said dont attack that monster head on😊😊
I can still remember watching when it first aired as a kid and being absolutely shocked when this happened.
KITT is only destroyed in the acid pit. It ate away everything except his shell. The other times, he was still intact and still talking. Bascially, he was knocked unconscious those times.
I cannot believe the acid has no effect on the tires !!! 😂
@@sa_si_ra The tires are indestructible like the shell. kitt has often driven over nail barriers without the tires bursting.
@@thomaskampa7254 The tires are bulletproof too, but the sunroof (and side windows) are gone with the acid - so the tires have to ! And uranium (?) bullets can destroy the tires (other episode) !
@@sa_si_ra the side windows must have fallen into the doors as the lift mechanism was degraded by the acid. Sunroof fell off as its mounts also decomposed. these parts are installed internally, so they have not been treated with the molecular seal. 😉
@@thomaskampa7254 Why had the acid enter the mainroom but not the tires - was KITT so stupid to let the side window open ?

I'm always a little sad win KITT gets destroyed, But I'm always happy when he's rebuilt.
the Goliath episode.i remember we were all shocked and everyone at school talking about it.and waited for the part 2
They did such a good job establishing KITT's indestructibility that the first time he got destroyed, it really threw me--that was some good TV. :D
Love how KITT's "Knight of the Juggernaut" destruction is the only one done with actual vehicles without any miniatures. Though miniatures do still appear at other points in the episode.
Every time KITT got his bumper kicked in, Michael was way too overconfident in his abilities. Partners know each other’s weaknesses and seek to cover them up, lest they be exploited. Michael overmatched KITT’s adaptability every time.
Yeah, I was shocked to find out how often KITT had to pay the price for Michael's hubris.
In the juggernot and the acid there was anything he could do
@@fredericomoreira6113 with “Juggernaut”, KITT told him he couldn’t scan for anything due to the environment. Michael should have left.
He kept going down the road and drove in to the trap
Michael is only human.
Jeez.
4:05 i noticed it when i first watched this episode back in the 80's when it aired, that k.i.t.t looked sorta different, and realized it's a model car sinking lol. The special effects back then....
I only knew the juggernaut destruction!
I remember that I was devastated and the next day at school was the number 1 topic!
How dare you put me through the heartache all over again of losing KITT!!!
When Michael needed help, when did KITT ever say "I can't buddy"?
he did say "I'm sorry Michael" a few times for example in the plane of the "sky knight" episode
So what could Michael do here? I was thinking he could've said to hit turbo boost but the rocket fuel for that function may have reacted with the waste and that would be even worse
That's actually a fair point 😂
Reliving repeated childhood trauma 🤣🤣😂🤣
When you least expect it, it will happen one way or another and it is tough to watch Kitt getting damaged in more ways than one.
I was so crying watching these when i was little.....Thank you for the clips.👍
KITT: Michael, he's zeroing in on my exhaust system!
Michael: I read ya, pal.
KITT: Sorry, pal. Forgive me.
Michael: What?
Like Star Wars blowing up the Death Star through the exaust port.
That one always kind of annoyed me. They were obviously locking onto his exhaust with a heat seeking missle, but in the season one episode Deadly Maneuvers, KITT uses a rear flamethrower to prevent getting hit by a heat seeking missle. Why didn't he just do that again?
@@pdennis93 As well as the oil slick, or smoke fume, or laser, or a number of other gizmos KITT supposedly had. I'm starting to think that KITT might not have been armed at all times, but only gets reloaded according to the mission. I can't see how a car that size could have enough room to stock all that weaponry anyway. But I think KITT always had the micro-jam installed because it was used many times. Not sure why they didn't consider it.
I figured it was because these were different rockets, and the drone was closer, so maybe KITT calculated that the flamethrower trick wouldn't work
Karr gave up after being destroyed two times.
Kitt is still going strong after being destroyed five times.
KARR was like ya know what? F this. It’s not worth it.
Only 1 time actually, and the difference is that Karr has lost its "body" and no support like Kitt
I would love for someone to have picked up the CPU of KARR from the desert and got him reactivated somehow, then combined him with Goliath. THAT would have been an epic story. They kinda left things open by showing the blinking CPU behind the front grill.
You have to understand why KARR became what he is. He was created first, abandoned, and left to survive on his own, then to see number 2 get all the cool upgrades, a driver, and a personal mechanic. Anyone would've gone mad too.
@@Stretch54449thats kinda what happened in the 2008 KR reboot series. KARR is rebuilt but it's never explained how, only that the feds want KITTs cpu data in KARRs body to fix issues or something, it's a dumb story really. Buuuuut we do get to see KITT VS KARR one final time and KARR has a "robot" mode, and is voiced my Peter Cullen again so the episode is worth watch for that fact alone.
Technically it's 5 times, you forgot to add the most emotional one of all, when KITT is flooded underwater in KR2000
The first time Kitt was destroyed was like when the Undertaker lost the streak. We were all devistated.
I was 5 when the acid episode aired......a 5 year old did NOT need to see that! I had trouble sleeping for a week, I didn't think a computer was capable of showing fear, but KITT....he was terrified.
I seem to remember all of these destructions happened in the season finale, then we got a "new and improved" KITT for the next season with upgraded gadgets every time he got rebuilt.
KITT also got some minor cosmetic changes, especially the front bumper, I always thought this was to keep up with the current model Firebird/Trans-am.
That mud pit sequence wins the reward for the worst bit of miniature work in all of TV 😂
I notized the same 😂
don’t worry guys KITT got a life time warranty lol
I remember as a kid so depressed when kitt got dropped n the acid it was by far the worst for me almost tragic 🤣
The acid one I do remember watching
The "virtually" indestructible car gets destroyed 4 times. .
Said it as a kid back n 85'. The best script should've been Garth returning n Karr as the ultimate revenge
This always brings me to tears 😢
I remember on a Universal Studios tour in 1985, around the corner was an auto carrying semi truck with 6 or 8 Kitts on the trailer.😊
Which do you think was the worst one? I’m thinking junkyard dog, but juggernaut is a close second
Missed the one where KITT gets knocked over the side of a mountain and rolls over with Michael inside and taking some damage.
He wasn't destroyed though was he? He just took a bit of impact damage.
I always wanted to see garth knight and Karr to team up against Michael and Kitt that seemed like the logical next step
and fake Devon join forces too
Garth and KARR did happen in the ps2 game, and it wasn't as great as it sounds. The whole fight lasts 30 seconds then KARR shorts out and drives both of them into a rockets fire. It's meh at best.
The acid bath one amuses me the most. Literally nothing left of the interior... Yet the tyres survived fully inflated.
I was devastated as a child when CAR vs KITT and KITT was damaged.

I think what I've learned after watching this, Michael isn't too bright.
Guys I know we all were sorry for those episodes. Yes, that was great show but I can't help myself thinking some gaps in the scenario. :))
Destroy No.1: First of all KITT could've detected wire and explosion system buried into the walls. He detected the molecular shell of The Goliath. He could've calculated the collision and ejected Michael out or taken the control to save Michael and himself. :)
Destroy No.2: KITT was even able to unlock a door lock from the distance. He could've taken the control of that loader machine to stop it.
Destroy No.3: This episode was weird. When KITT was showered with a special liquid, he could've detected the liquid's specs or the failure on his molecular shell. Just one hit has already taken KITT out actually. We saw that KITT was extremely weak without molecular shell. :))
Destroy No.4: We saw in this episode, they had no need a special liquid to mess with KITT's shell, one rocket was enough to break KITT. :) Actually KITT foresaw how they would destroy him. Again he could've taken the control and turn a 180 degree maneuver to avoid from the rocket...
Ok ok ok, I know these episodes left our memory for long years. The show wouldn't be excited without these traumatic shocks. :) I love them but everytime I watch those, I'm still thinking all of these. :))
Kitt could have detected the chemical spray if he was looking for it, which is why it was delivered in a non conspicuous street washer car. He had no reason to suspect it was anything but cleaner, so why scan it?
Nice Editing skills, KITT was damaged 3 times, acid john Destroyes KITT, so much that Michael had to call devon and get him to call the original team Wilton Knight assembled and have them design everything from the ground up

Man, I hope one day they remaster the series in 4k.
