Hasselhoff said scenes like these were some of his favorites on the show, where Michael was able to help KITT understand humanity and the nature of friendship.
Especially this one, because although KITT would never admit that he was afraid, I’m glad that Michael mentioned his fear is after he woke up and related to KITT that he had to go through the same thing. He understood what KITT was going through because he went though it. That’s empathy, compassion, and understanding between partners and friends.
The pause at 3:16 that shows KITT's voice box in silence after Michael explains how he overcame his trauma is what always gets me in this scene, it shows KITT finally understanding how to overcome its own "trauma". By the way, "Silent Mode" is what we nowadays call "electric car"

But even with all of that, this was disputably the worst of them all since it broke KITT’s spirit. Addendum: I like how Michael related to KITT’s fear by describing his reactions to little things after he recovered and became Michael Knight. He knew how KITT felt because he went through it. That pit was to KITT what that shot was to Michael. Shared trauma leads to empathy and understanding, and in this case, helped KITT return to form.
MICHAEL: Everytime somebody lit a match or car headlights went by in my face, I'd flinch. KITT: Oh, well in that case, I'm sorry I scared you when we first met, Michael. When I flashed my headlights in your face and came racing towards you in the dark. MICHAEL: That's okay, pal. We'll just blame that on Devon as he was sitting in the driver's seat at the time.

Because it is. The "acid pit" car was one that they had stripped everything out of (including the engine) and painted with the "acid pit" paint job to make it look how it did. The reason they stripped everything out is because it later became the transforming super pursuit mode car (the one with movable panels and no engine). 4:34 - You can see the driver seat they made around the stunt driver move ever so slightly if you look close. Fun stuff.
And in real life the original hero car, the "true" KITT, was severely damaged during the filming of the scene where they push the payloader into the water. In one shot you can see the front is all messed up. Why they didn't just use a regular stuntcar for that scene I'll never understand. But it was restored, thankfully. One of only 5 cars that survived the show.
But if you notice that while kitt is sinking in the acid.. (before the makeover) ..... It's kitt himself for a while.... then u notice it's a toy car 🚗 going in! Cause the bonnet looks smaller!! 😲
Who, a part from me, loves a happy ending where the bad guys go directly to jail?
Please give me thumbs up if you enjoyed watching this clip of "Knight Rider". ©®

They should reboot Knight Rider, BUT, as a video game that plays like a new season of the show, with Hasselhoff voicing Michael Knight
Play Knight Rider 1 and 2 by Davilex. It's sad that they did not get much recognition for those two games
KITT and the hoff definitely doesn't get better
I SPOTTED A CRASH BUMPER ON kitt when he hit the bolldozer
