I said the same thing,no disrespect to the Duke boys,but Micheal Knight/David Hasselhoff actually performed a number of vehicle stunts like the one seen here. Yeah,they did their own stunts,but any time you saw them in the General Lee,someone else did the car stunts...while they were filmed with projector background shots.
@@franciscoriley3855 I agree, David did many stunts with KITT, thanks to legendary stunt coordinator Jack Gill who taught many driving skills to The Hoff at that time.
@@franciscoriley3855 Yeah David did some stunt driving sometimes. John Schneider actually did a little bit on the Dukes of Hazzard also. Whenever the star did any stunt driving they made sure to show the star so you could tell because it wasn't all that often
I remember in one of the first episodes there is a scene where KITT does a handbrake turn before going into Semi. You can clearly see a driver checking position of handbrake lever before turn, and also clearly see it was atually Hasselhoff doing the turn. Most of stuntdriving was done by stuntdrivers, but many of those basic tricks and low speed drifts were done by Hasselhoff himself who learned them while doing the series. Then at the end of the series, he got so good at it, he could even do those with KITT's steering 'wheel'.

And while filming Knight Rider; David had a recaro edition Pontiac Trans-Am in his personal life for daily driving, so in a way; he always was prepared for the show.
Forget the car, the real impressive technology is the one that gave the trailer for the semi such a incredibly smooth ride. Its as if Bonnie never needed to worry about being bounced around while she worked on Kitt
Smartass.
It was also apparently a TARDIS, because the interior set was at least twice the size as the trailer, lol. It was pretty hard to suspend disbelief there.
While spraying a chemical on KITT with no gloves or respiratory protection!!

Pyrotech56, Michael had to try and scare them away from the laser, by continuing full speed ahead, to stop the firing and to destroy it.
Just like boxing, just take it in the face, why try to dodge anything. Maybe come at a different angle? Michael really was a box of rocks.

And the graphics in this were better than what they are offering in She Hulk.

Great times to watch Knight Rider with my family. We watched it when it was on Friday nights on NBC. I still have my radio controlled KITT in storage.
The most funniest part is when Michael finishes the job of catching the culprit, then the Cops arrive 🤣🤣
It's a classic Hollywood trope - the police always arrive AFTER the protagonists have done all the hard work!

Speaking of the laser, anyone know who actress playing the laser lady? Her cute and attractiveness made her playing a villain a waste. The villain lady could’ve been played by a “Karen” type of person.

@@donkeyslayer4661 the stunt driver does the chases and the blind driving. Hoff actually is a jack of all trades. It was the norm in the 80s for some actors to be daring and do their own stunts like Richard Dean Anderson did in McGuyver.

It's nice that in this scene Hasselhoff himself did both the 180* handbrake turn and the J turn.
Also, the lack of skidpads in views from outside the car, indicate the he did both in first take.

Still a great show. When I was a kid I took the whole thing more seriously, but even though I see the corny parts now, it's still so entertaining.
And every villain is a vehicle. My favorite is Karr.

Knight Rider my absolute all time tv series grew up watching it and never missed an episode. The Pontiac trans am such a beautiful car. I have the jada 1:24 Diecast model of kitt and such an amazing piece to and I have smaller version to of kitt 1:32 scale.

Car capable of dodging the beam, going to Ski Mode, or even jumping up out of the beam's path just keeps taking it in the face... all righty then! Michael, THAT is why you should always let KITT do the driving.
Can you imagine. It took so many decades for us to catch up to Bonnies magic laser protection spray. Except that now we call it ceramic spray-on coating, which lasts a gazillion years and protects our cars again dust, dirt and fading.
I thought about water/mud repellent spray when i saw that. Just because something seemed like borderline fiction in the 80s, that does not mean that kids from that that era will make it happen. And they did.

This episode definitely speaks 80s all around especially with the nerd, nerds of the 80s were more awesome and more practical
I loved this episode, especially when the nerd gets a bike atvthe end that resembles KITT and he got a black jacket and red shirt to copy Michael.

The laser probably would've stayed locked on to KITT even if he'd tried to Turbo Boost or swerve about.

I always Wondered why KITT never had a Laser weapon installed?
This episode gave rise to the term "The Knight Rider Buff" in MMOs. A buff that only works in very specific circumstances that only arise in one particular moment in one particular encounter, never to be seen or heard again, and never to be gotten again, even if it might at some other point in time would come in handy.
Kitt is virtually a intelligent life form. Two steps below that of a Transformer.. Can't transform but has a sense of character and humour. And that was shortly before the First Transformer film.
It's been many many years since the broadcast of this episode...and i still wonder .....how come after this kind of heat....the tyres and the whole plastic-vinyl parts weren't melted??how come michael knight didn't get burnt????😂😂😂😂

everytime I see this scene I notice when Kitt and Michael arrive they are very close to the lazer close enough they don't need the 10 seconds to reach them...then when the lazer hits them they are half way across the parking lot...

true but heroes can't die. also another thing is when Kitt and Michael arrive they are close to the Truck and could reach it before 10 sec....and yet when the lazer hits them then you see them about half way across the parking lot...proving your point it took them over 10 secs to reach them.
