Airwolf was one of those rare television gems which was shrouded in as much mystique in production as portrayed on screen. There wasn't a lot of PR for the show. It just, "was". Sincerely, thank you for this! It brings back a lot of very fond memories!

Wow!!! This was really great to see the actual filming locations. I Really want to say thanks for sharing this with the Airwolf fans out here in you tube land. The distance from L.A.really makes me appreciate the time it must have taken the film crew to get there and then to get the shots that they used .The actual inside of the lair cave is really amazing to see.👍👍
I'm going to post this and it will be the only warning. I have banned several people because the only comment they had to make was about my mask usage. 1. The Navajo Nation has or had a mask mandate in effect at the time this was filmed. Because I was with a tour group I was required to wear a mask and I had no intention on continuously taking off and putting my mask during filming for the few trifling people who troll RUclips. 2. In the video I mentioned there were high winds that day, this created multiple sand storms. The mask came in very handy for avoiding sand in the mouth, it made sense to keep the mask ready as these storms would appear quickly. If you watched this video and your only takeaway was my mask then keep scrolling. If you comment about my mask I will ban you from my channel, it's that simple!
aaah, yes.... the folks who can only see things through their political blinders. Hard for some to keep out the sand out of their eyes. Just like the Airwolf community, we all are here to do our best to support each other. Great job on this video tour you were so kind to share!
@@andrewpelletier1199 I learned much about people during covid. Things I don't like about the human condition. Covic hit us with little warning. Wearing the mask and getting the Covid shot became a catalyst for being rude and ugly to the people around us. I'm grateful I wasn't cursed with a strong opinion one way or another. We started calling people, "sheep". After hearing that word spread like wildfire, I got to thinking: I am a sheep. I am one of God's sheep. His sheep knows his voice. I still today don't know what was right or wrong with the mask and the shot, but I do know God's love for us still reigns supreme.
This took a lot of searching and attention to details, spectacular work, sir! Thank you doesn't go far enough and for us Airwolf fans, this is PLATINUM!

Thank you! I loved watching the show as a kid, but since I live in Europe I hardly ever got any background information. I have visited Monument Valley and suspected that I saw some locations where they filmed Airwolf- it’s nice to have it confirmed.
Airwolf just never gets old to me! MARS industries is building and selling a well detailed 1/18th scale 29” long Airwolf toy, can’t wait for it to be delivered (already for pre order)!
That was great! We stayed overnight in Monument Valley in an AirBnB of all places which was quite the experience. Never managed to get to Hidden Arch as we had small kids with us so that was cool to see what it looked like. The Native American lady who hosted us told us about the model too. Was definitely a bucket list trip for my young Airwolf self. Thanks!
Awesome video. I now have a deeper appreciation of the skill and detail that went into filming Airwolf. It rises to the level of feature film photography of that era. Thanks.
Awesome video! Thank you very much for showing us this mystical place for Airwolf fans. For me one of the best series in history that is already 38 years old. Greetings from Argentina!
"How far down does it go?" "I don't know. I never hovered into it before." Thanks for making and posting this to share with us! I've got a little zip-lock baggie of Monument Valley sand that was a perk for subscribing to a fan-based magazine called The Wolf's Lair. It'd be cool to see it in person one day, but this video will have to fill the void until then, lol. The time/distance information made me chuckle. I knew it had to be more than "about an hour" from the "Hollywood and/or String's cabin" area, lol.
Wow! that's a great video. Thank you. I knew the lair had to be filmed somewhere around there but never knew exactly where. My cousin used to be a truck driver and actually saw them filming Airwolf briefly when he was driving. I remember him telling me about it during a holiday get together way back then
My friends loved Chevy Camaro's, Me, I leaned more towards the Bell 222. 😂 Even now, almost 40 years later I have the Airwolf blueprints hanging up on my wall.
Interesting place, great show of the 80s, most of the cast are gone now: Hawke, Santini, Archangel even the Airwolf helicopter but apparently the Santini Air Jetranger was still around in 2016 and was still painted in the Santini Air colours! 🇺🇸
@@ronaldmorris3197Sadly it's not the real one but a replica. The hero aircraft was sold off to Germany after the show finished and later whilst working as an air ambulance was written off when it crashed in bad weather killing all onboard.

For the first time I got to see the 2nd season premier which had the improved Lair take off/interior shots. I think those holes in the cliffside are "cliff-dwellings" and made by humans seeking shelter... not wind carving a rock. Awesome summary. On my bucket list to go. Airwolf is why I became a helicopter pilot :)
