"Toddler" and "hours of reading" were used in the same sentence for the first time. Nice lamp...
About time someone made a floor lamp! I have seen lots of desk lamps but not good reading lamps. I need to make one. Great job.
Thanks John!
Another great job. Thanks so much for the information
One has to be really good with his tools to have a light like this.
Excellent project and it looks like it really works well.. Thanks!
Really beautiful work, Linn! Looks fantastic! 😃
And remember, you can always paint the PVC pipe to look like brass as well. 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! Yes, lots of options when it comes to painting pvc...
What a bright idea 👍
Thanks Billy ;)
Cool!!! Thank You!!!! 👍😎
Wonderful simple and clean design Linn, Thank you for sharing, take care.
Great Design!
Another dope build 👌....great job
I like it a lot. I need a good lamp like that. Always struggling to get enough light. Thank you!
You should consider EMT for projects like this. You'd need to paint them, but they can be bent like copper at PVC prices (give or take)
I really like the idea (EMT is cheap and more substantial than PVC), but I'm not sure if many people want to try bending conduit without experience.
@@raymondmcgee4491 You have a point, but a true DIY'r doesn't shy from a challenge ☺️
Enjoying your videos! I made a 2000 LED array where the X axis was the LED strips and self adhesive copper tape (like for lead glass work) was the Y axis. The power had to be split up for 3 sections to handle all the current. My white balance is off because I didn't use better LEDs but I correct for that in Photoshop.
BTW I moved from Virginia to Oregon and am down the CNC path. Thanks for sharing.
Super smart and sensible. i love the HQ LEDS. Thank you Linn.
That is awesome! Looks really good
Your video was very interesting for looking and enjoying really thanks for uploading
Great build
Neat idea!
Just curious: why you didn't put some sort of diffusing lens over the LEDs?
Thanks! Really just because you never tend to actually look directly at the lights, so you see the upside of the shade from most positions. Didn't think it was that necessary.
Great project, gives me an idea for a lamp for my sewing room
Looks great!
Thanks!
Beautifull !
I LOVE how you see a need you have and fill it! You make everything look so easy... even I could do it. LOL.
I do really like this lamp. Another great project. You have great knowledge of those LED strips!
I enjoyed your videos describing the new workshop, etc., but I think this type illustrates your greatest strength - a well-designed and beautiful AND practical thing you made. Thank you.
Thanks so much John!
Nice.
Nice! I know that you have clamps or even some non-slip material to steady that vise while cutting the pic pipe. I kept wanting to hold it down from my tablet screen as you were cutting lol!
You are very deft with soldering led strips. Are there any tricks to it?
QIUCK AND EASY AND A BUDGET ANYONE CAN AFFOED NICE JOB.
Does it overheat given there is no heat dissipation ?
What if one of the LED panels blows, will the other ones still work? Would having some connector system between each strip make replacing the strips easier? If so what would you suggest?
The is really nice work. Do you ever have to deal with vatching the light in your line of sight? Seems like it would be painful.
Varey goods
Really nice and functional build. I may attempt to make one sooner. Just a suggestion, maybe the dimming knob be placed mid way for easy reach and control. Maybe on the next build 👌🏼
Does the pipe just friction fit into the base?
Great video I love the lamp, I would have just added more LEDs and driven them at a lower power. the LEDs will last for ages, instead of driving them full power.
I don't think the CRI makes any difference when just reading. Highest sensitivity is somewhere between yellow and green. Certainly, black print on white paper is not a critical visual challenge. For viewing color pictures, it's another story. Then the CRI is necessary.
Nice work. Would you consider a warmer white colour and also a light diffuser?
Anything is a possibility when you make things yourself!
👍👍👍
I love your accent, are you Swedish?
👏👏👏👏😁👍
Daunting amount of soldering for an old geezer like me. Love the idea but might have difficulty with the lack of adjustability in height and angle.because of the difference in sizes of people - children, young pre-teen adults, older adults (basketball types), and old geezers...🤣
Nice idea linn , you can pay for a light $20 or $30 and still get something plastic cheap and nasty , so why not try something for yourself.
Linn.
