Glad you have gone for the better system, will give you so much peace of mind later and being able to monitor and control it with the phone app is super
Victron makes really nice products. I have a Victron Multi Plus Inverter, Solar Charge Controller, and Battery Monitor and they all work perfectly. You are going to have a really nice setup when you are finished. I look forward to more of your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Pleased to see that you went to a higher-voltage system, and an integrated, "smart" inverter/charger! Besides having a great trailer set-up, as a free side benefit of this set-up, you will also have partial backup of your home (without even needing to run the inverter generator)!
Good setup! Moving to 24v is excellent. When not out in the teardrop, you could use this setup as a grid assist. Maybe cut down on your home electric bill some. I am building a similar teardrop, only mine is going to be a square-drop. I am planning a solar setup also, but I am going with an all-in-one inverter setup such as MPPsolar or Growatt. Going this route to save space inside the square-drop. All-in-ones have all the same things you have setup in one small package. One day I am going use a setup like you, but to power a solar shed like your workshop.
24v is pretty standard in heavy trucks, so you may want to look at truck accessory suppliers, both B&M or on line (considering long distance drivers virtually live in their trucks).
Nice upgrade for your power, that should give you a bit more of a buffer when using power hungry items 👌 I'm really enjoying seeing all of your decision making process 👍
Moving to 24 volts sounds like the right idea to me, especially if you take advantage of the lower currents (on the 24v appliances) by sizing your wires smaller.
I am sure they design it with a limiter when charging from surepower. The control you how over charging rate is if you have other things to power from the generater without overloading it.
I predict a Victron Cerbo GX in your future. I think moving to the multiplus was the right move. Is there a reason you have 2 charge controllers? Isn't your 150/35 is sufficient if you use 3 parallel string with 2 panels in series? Open circuit Voltage of those panels would be < 75 and current short circuit current would be < 35. I'm not trying to be critical, just curious or maybe i'm missing something. Excited to see more work on the trailer itself.
Use low drop high power schottky diodes to charge batteries in series at 24V and discharge at both 12V & 24V. Or, drive a hybrid vehicle, and use its high voltage battery, which requires a much simpler inverter to produce true sine wave (more safe for electronics, and less EMI radiation).
Wow this is really so fascinating 😃 can I get a job there I can clean your workshop 😍👍 It's all about a small room to spend time with our messy stuff loved it.
It’s always interesting to see how people learn, I learned as I went along -kind of haphazardly! One question, which dip switches did you have to change in order to get more amps from your generator? Mine are all set to on my Victron inverter. I don’t have a PC so I can’t change any of the internal settings. But the generator is my only issue, as I wish I could get more out of it.
Have a nice video ma’am, I watched a lot of videos about the solar inverter and finally I like this brand Victron. May I ask yo ma’am if you have supplier in Philippines? We need 50kw -100kw 3phase hybrid inverter. Thanks
Whoa, it's neat you understand all this! I'm very impressed.
Perfect! 24V I think is going to work alot better for you

Glad to see ypu bought right the first time

Very cool set up.
Very enjoyable video. Your methodology for learning and testing the system makes the video very educational.
Great decision, Linn! 😃
And it's much easier to step down the voltage than step up!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Really enjoying your build on this trailer. Lots of interesting design choices! Howdy from the Willamette Valley :)

I am not sure that is the case on US semi tractors as opposed to EU where 24V is the norm.

Killer setup. Certainly better than that your other option.
Very Nice Setup!!! Looks Like It Will Work Perfectly!!! Thank You!!! 😃👍😎😁
Have you posted any info on the fridge you have purchased?
Great video. Breaker between batteries is throwing me off a little
This has been a fun project to follow!
What make/model is that 12/24V fridge?
I am in aw of you and your talents
I would like to see a schematic diagram for your 24v system

All in one
Isn’t the advantage of these Victron devices, that you can interconnect these by wire and use only one Bluetooth connection to address everything ?

Does it support technology mppt?

Great setup - but in a teardrop?! Hope there is room for you in there.
🙏
Should be great!

DEAR DARBIN. ..... You have to follow this guy.... SLIM POTATOHEAD on youtube..😊
Overcomplicated system if you don't plan to use something with high power demand
I guess the series ended here. Never finished?
Nice 🌹 video
holy cow.. your wires are about 4 sizes to big..
Do you even have a camper?
