Did you guys shoot this on an iPhone 3?
Mike this has been my favourite film of yours thus far. This was incredibly well done. Great copy, cinematography, and music. Love your choice of words and the way you describe cars. This Porsche is awesome.
My only suggestion is that you guys start uploading 60fps videos or use motion blur on some of the shots. Panning shots, or shots of the car moving are stuttery or jittery, but would be much more attractive if buttery smooth with an extra 30fps.
Great work!
+NETGLOW I just wish he keept the long hair
+Olof L YES! i was so dissapointed when i first seen the cut, that i cut my own hair! we need the hair back spinelli!
Wow, this guy almost looks like Mike Spinelli. Great review!
The colors aren't really popping well in this video, everything seems grayish to me. Anyone else notice this?
+Daniel Mustang I've seen this color live, and it's not like in this video.
I bet it looks much better in person. I just think /Drive should try changing something to fix this color distortion.
+Daniel Mustang Yeah, it looks much better in person.
+Daniel Mustang Over color graded trying to look "film-like/artsy".

I don't know I sat in a new 911 a couple of days ago and I just wasn't impressed. The interior just didn't seem premium and it was a little claustrophobic. It also didn't seem to have much of a presence to me, it just seem kind of small and wimpy. Personally I think I would be happier in something like a C63 AMG coupe, F type, maybe even a Corvette, something a little more macho I guess.
I don't comment a lot, but I really wanted to say, that the production value of this car review is one of the best I have seen for a long time, especially in this channel.
Congratulation, Mike!
Your word flow and analogies are very nice to listen to. And you present facts and figures, but still keep a sense of humor while reviewing. Keep it up!
Fantastic review of this wonderful machine.
that color is fabulous on this car!
Good Review but something went very wrong with the editing
Colours, brightness and contrast are all over the place
Wow . Drive you guys did an incredible job on this video. Keep up the good work.
Spinelli, you have come a very long way, this was an absolutely fantastic review. Very good editing as well.
What a beautiful review guys! Nice job. Amazing shots, but honestly, that's what Tenerife and a 911 in this colour will do. Nice montage, great overall!
Mr. Spinelli, you the man
I like this chaps reviews. Nice to see someone drive a car like the vast majority will do. No tail out BS.
One of the best reviews well done!
Mike/Drive
This was such an amazing video that I'm actually leaving a comment about it, something I rarely do. I really hope there are more videos like this in the works.
On another note, I think you're slowly morphing into James May, circa Top Gear season 2. Take that as you will. He's always been my favorite.
Kudos to you guys for a fantastic video and review!
Great vid, enjoyed it thoroughly
That Miami blue looks stunning
Great review. Thanks
Excellent review!
I appreciate that you don't grab the glass when you close the door
Well done Spinelli! Well done! You and the original guys are the ONLY reason why I haven't deleted the Drive Channel! Impressive and inviting to the point that I'm following you like I used too!
good job mickey! great review.. you basically made me fall in love with the 911 again
Hey Mike, love the videos! Quick question, are these rims strong enough for occasional track use? would the 20s be too big and twitchy for the track? I'm about to order a manual 718 Cayman S and i just love the 20-inch Carrera Sport wheels. I'm just not sure if they are a good choice as weekend track rims over say the 19 inch Boxster S or Cayman S wheels. Appreciate any advice!
I love that color!
very well done, mike!
Sick video!! Great job Spinelli!!!!
I really love this collor.
Great video.Great car and colour.
Great review!
Color is amazing!
I love the color, but why is this entire video underexposed? Did they leave a neutral density filter on the camera lens?
+vnitto Not underexposed, I'd say "undercontrasted", it's washed out :(
+Filip Farag it's flattened to give a more 'cinematic' look. A lot of people do that now a days.
you can make your own video
I love my new 991.2 twin turbo. My fifth Porsche, and this is the very best yet ! Smooth, quick, and fun to drive. In fact, its the only sports car to drive !!
Miami blue is absolutely beautiful
Color is awesome!
the color look awesome!
Mike Spinelli, you are the best. Keep it up!
One of my fave Porsche
Took one of these for a test drive a few weeks ago. I have been a Porsche guy, but in looking for a new sports car I decided to give them a try. That being said, I have no other Porsche experience to compare this car to, and I though it was fantastic. I drove one with the PDK which was lightening fast, and the interior was quite nice compared to what I have seen before in Porsche. Mind you, every little thing was an option, right down to having a coloured Porsche logo on the rim lol
Awesome style bro !!!
Great review, Spinelli!
Interesting how the wheels keep changing back and forth...
Good review Spinelli, you should do reviews like this more often.
This place has been my dream vacation for some time now
That spec is on point!
Excellent video Spinelli :)
welcome back DRIVE! I missed u.
Terrific review MS. :) Love your one liners. "...scare away the dentists" LOL!! :)
Funny, informative, and really fun to watch. Had a bit of a Top Gear flavor that I've missed. Quite impressed!
Pinch to zoom grandpa:))
+Adrian Echim Spinelli's still coming to terms with three-blink turn signals.
+/DRIVE THATS SPINELLI!?
Was he in some sort of weed wacker accident?
thanks for a honest great review :)
Nice car right there. seriously beautiful in every aspect except the cost because I want one
Wooow I love this car!
Can't beat a Mike Spinelli commentary...
Amazing
Don't usually comment, however, this is the best production I've seen in a while.
the guy sounds a bit like michael from gta v
Good video. The hair cut looks good mate
such a cool vid.
Spinelli's stepping his game up
My dentist drives an AMG C class, I generally tipped my hat to that as I didn't expect her to be that into cars.
Damn good video!
Lookin' good. The car and the haircut.
That exhaust sounds amazing or not i'm not sure never got a chance to hear it.
Nice job, Spin
+Evan Yates EVO!
Have you sold your video editor together with the podcast? :-D
3:15 "...like stepping on an angels wings in ballet slippers."
Had to stop there.
So did I miss the bit where you ring it out and we hear the new engine sound?
Great review...
Was the video not graded properly? It looks like the entire thing was filmed in LOG and not corrected in post :-/
Who knew Spinelli could do a good review. I thought he could only talk about cars he found on ebay with the 2 dudes from CCC manhattan. Well done.
I always thought the best Porsches are the turbocharged ones! Porsche is doing a great job now!!
so true. one day 911, One day.
I wonder what the 911 turbo is gonna be called now 🤔
These analogies and metaphors kill me alittle bit every single time.
About fricking time you got a haircut.
+dtoften I hate it, he looked way better with the flowing locks
991 is the best looking Porsche 911 since the 930 in my opinion
when is the BIG MUSCLE coming out again?
It will be interesting to see what the mini-911 Turbo aka Carrera 4 can do.
...so they finally jazzed it up. yes!
was there nothing to see in the engine compartment? did I look away and miss the part where you showed it because there was a lot of talk abt a new engine and only a couple cut away shots
Beautiful color, great scenery, but I did want to see and hear a 0-60 launch.
Mike you are still doing a great job despite me having to listen through tears cause I miss your long hair.
Twin of my car ❤
Spinelli writes pretty well!!!
Internet car journalism has gone down hill in recent months. However, Spinelli is a bright spot.
Miami Blue or Marina Blue?
Nice haircut.
Less forced analogies and more substantive technical aspects about the actual car. You seem better every video Spinelli!
Can you /DRIVE-guys please dampen the music a bit? It's sometimes hard to hear what you say. (This is not the only video suffering from this.) Otherwise, lovely video!
+Vidar G If you are wearing headphones it is quite obvious. I don't have an issue on my Macbook or PC while watching Drive.
I won't be surprised if one day, the 911 reaches perfection haha
P-51 vs F-35, no wonder I drive a 930, as I would rather fly the Mustang. Great video, I think this is the first new 911 I really, really want. Thanks drive, oh and Mike let the hair grow out!
Its a shame watching all those car journalists seeing trying so hard to sell us the merits of this new 991.2 because they simply have to! Apart from Chris Harris every single review i have seen so far of the 991.2 (and also new Boxster) worked that way.
Its a shame because imo its obv that as a car reviewer you know that there wont be any alternative apart from going Turbocharged in the coming decade, so as you are somehow a part of that industry, you have obv to sell those cars to the customers because otherwise this whole sports-car-thing would simply die off and we all would just gather around the excellent cars of the last decades.
So its understandable somehow but on the other side it really makes me allergic seeing all those Turbo-engines being forcefully praised.
+000GunterGabriel000 Very good point, though not so much *selling* as coming to terms with. We're all in a screwed-up spot. The flexible, high-revving NA engines with great throttle response we all love are going away (buy all the Honda S2000s now). Carmakers who've defined their sports cars' character on those engines, like Porsche and BMW, are trying to smooth the transition by delivering engines with properties of both -- e.g., smaller turbos, marginally higher compression, and low-as-possible friction (so revving over the torque peak feels natural). We can complain about it -- which, try as we might, won't change the situation -- or we can be realistic about judging those engines on their own merits.
+/DRIVE The mild-hybridization of turbocharged engines will bring instant throttle response back. I just don't understand why the industry is taking so long to implement it. The only brand currently killing turbo lag is Volvo (PowerPulse for the diesel engines and twincharging for the gasoline ones).
+/DRIVE " (buy all the Honda S2000s now)." Good advice, as they still are really cheap. I heard lately that Turbo-engines arent superior when it comes to CO2 and fuel consumption, its just the silly measurements they are using. For example measuring only at low revs and not while accelerating at mid-revs. If thats true, that would make that whole thing even worse and brings up the question why the manufacturers dont try to do something about it.
+000GunterGabriel000 YES. "Building to the test" is definitely an issue, especially since all of the world governments' emissions testing procedures have yet to be fully standardized. I think you're referring to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) test, which has been criticized for emphasizing constant speed, idling, and less-aggressive acceleration than drivers use in practice. And so, yes, there's a danger of over relying on low-rev torque in engine design. Crazy stuff.
I agree
Damn Spinelli back at it again with the cropped hair do. Nice work.
Some day. In THIS color.
Who's this guy? I was expecting that long-haired Mike Spinelli guy 😉
I love it. Everybody that is crying about the exhaust needs to get a grip. If you actually have a hundred grand and change to put into one of these things, I'm sure you have enough to put on an aftermarket exhaust.
Faster AND a little more fuel efficient!
What's the problem?
filmed on an iPhone??
I'm so in love with my manual BRZ, it would be a shame that when I finally have the money Porsche won't have any manual 911
I may be late on saying this but, nice haircut Mike. You look good.
Yet one more time that someone has talked about the new turbo motor and yet not talked about linearity. Can you feel the turbo? Do you push down and feel the car catching up. I'm not talking about lag. I'm just asking about how it feels. I guess though that, that is the other elephant in the room. Just as well that it doesn't really matter to me since I can't afford one. But then neither can most of the people who like to talk about Porsches.
The best car!
6:42 Why The forhead shot?😂😂😂
My dream car !
But, perhaps in silver.
