      Thank you for letting us know. I am glad he is doing well after his surgery. When I took my dog in for dental care at the age of 14, I was very glad for the routine testing they do before such procedures, as they picked up some elevated enzymes which indicated that the anaesthesia would be a bad idea.

    Ace seems to be a ratter. A dog that somewhere way back in his line, the breeders bred them to chase small mammals, vermin and kill them. Ace is crushing that rat (ball) every chance he can and he's telling you, "Look Mommy, I killed a rat for you." Seeing you post that Ace is recovering from his surgery well has made 243,000 people's day. Hang tough Ace, we all love you, little man.

      My little Heidi (RIP) was a Yorkie Pom mix. We had moles and field mice tearing up our yard. We lay traps and what not, she'd check them for us and would promptly go alert my dad when there was one. She LOVED to play with the local bunnies and quail. They didn't seem to mind. In fact, the bunnies felt so comfortable with her, that they would nest underneath my bedroom window. She would bring in baby bunnies and baby moles inside. Doesn't hurt them. It's "Lets go play inside. It's too hot out here". She sadly passed away a few years ago from the ripe old age of 15 via multiple health issues that included Alzheimer's (we thought she was going blind due to her behavior), deformed ribs and an enlarge heart. She was our favorite " little old lady". We had a mental image of her with a walker chasing after our youngest pup in a "get off my lawn!" way.

I wonder if his throwing up and pooping were down to anxiety, he needs his security blanket, and he gives off an air of anxiety which we know can produce many physical symptoms. The churning stomach and affects on your bowl is not fun 😶😳 It was endearing to watch his little feeties dance with his blankie. A pet psychologist might really help him. • @Froggywitchmama
      @Froggywitchmama 11 месяцев назад +42

      Honestly, he may not even know even if he could talk. People with OCD know that their behaviors aren't rational or even potentially harmful but the compulsion still remains. I do think the others in the comments bringing up terrier behaviors are onto something but understanding that doesn't solve the problems.
      Like in humans there isn't a clear cut answer as to why this happens, and there could be a number of factors at play.
      Often dogs with OCD can be helped with a combination of medications and behavioral intervention but not always or completely. It's a difficult thing to deal with.

Soooo grateful he’s ok 💝 my pup had her teeth pulled around 11 years too and when she recovered she was a whole new doggie! So much more energy and happiness. I was relieved. You are so patient, I'm glad I found your channel. I'm happy your Ace is ok. My Rusty (a chihuahua terrer mix), who passed at 17 1/2, had only a few teeth (like 4 or 5) after his surgery, so a chew or bone was out of the question, but he loved to gnaw on corn cobs. He did make an god-awful mess, as he spit them out all over though!

    My dog was a puppy mill mom and her teeth were rotten and falling out. They ended up pulling them all during her dental, and she has been doing so much better since then. She eats more, has fewer tummy issues, and is a lot more active. I am sure that Ace will be like a completely new dog once he recovers from his surgery!
    Editing to add: for anyone on the fence about getting their dog's rotten teeth pulled because they fear for their quality of life, please don't let that hold you back. Trust me when I say that your dog will prefer life without teeth to life with rotten, painful teeth. My dog spent about thirty minutes after bath time playing tug-of-war with a towel last night. Managed to snatch the towel from me and run off with it multiple times. Mind you, she is only 7.5 lbs! It took her a few weeks to figure out grabbing her toys and such without teeth, but she mastered it pretty quickly and is so much more comfortable now. She even still enjoys her Himalayan chews!

Tibbies are naturally stubborn and aloof dogs so we've learned to live with his eccentricities.

I know you mean celebrating when your pets put on a little weight because that's oftentimes already great progress when they're old, but if some of your pets don't even weigh those 100g or only weigh maybe 5 times that, 100g is A LOT lmao
      For comparison, I keep fancy mice and rats. My mice weigh between 30 g and 50g. My dwarf rats weigh just under 100g and my regular rats weigh between 300g and 500g. Here we already celebrate 5g weight gain for the mice and 10-15 for the rats haha
