Poor Snow 😢 he was such a good boy considering he had a bad experience at his last groom. I hope the owner starts to try and manage his fur so he doesn’t keep getting so matted
Nope, they won't, they've already let it get this bad repeatedly and clearly don't care. He even got injured while being professionally groomed because they let his fur become so matted, then they let it happen again. They don't brush him, they don't bathe him, they don't take care of his teeth, and instead of taking him to a professional groomer on a regular basis to prevent it from getting that bad again, they spent that money on a new puppy that they'll undoubtedly neglect as well. This owner shouldn't be allowed to have pets
Vet here - teeth are one of the top causes of shortening the lifespan of a dog. A good teeth clean at the vet and potentially a few extractions, even on a 14yr old, are worthwhile to eliminate the pain and make them comfortable in their twilight years.
Idk where you are in the world, But when I had an elderly maltese with bad teeth I couldn't get a vet to sedated him for the clean. He was healthy outside the teeth. I finally did when I lived in Korea. But it was hard to find in the us
I could not agree more. I adopted my dog when she was 13. She had a mouthful of rotten teeth. She had all of them removed along with a complete check up and blood work 10 days after her adoption. I had to get my elderly greyhound's teeth completely removed and I was worried about her adapting but she's a thousand times better now. Not only did her breath smell better but she started eating more and her overall vitality improved dramatically. It was expensive but the best decision I ever made. I am certain it prolonged her life.
I really like that you always, ALWAYS give the dogs' previous groomers the benefit of the doubt. Whenever you're informed about some kind of accident or mishap during previous grooming, you explain why it might have happened and look for clues in the dog's behaviour. People are (inderstandably) super protective of their pets and often quick to assume that the groomer made a mistake or wasn't experienced enough to take appointments, but sometimes accidents are just really hard to avoid. These are living, breathing creatures, prone to moving around and bouts of anxiety in a strange, noisy environment, accidents happen even with the most experienced groomers.
I’ve had many dogs of several different breeds over the years (I’m 72 and have had dogs almost continuously since I was 20), including several coated breeds. I once bought a Maltese puppy and absolutely adored her. However, after about six weeks, I decided I did not have what it takes to keep that kind of a coat groomed properly. I contacted the breeder and explained the situation to her. She was a reputable breeder and immediately said that of course she would take the puppy back and even refunded the entire amount I paid for the puppy. My concern with Snow and Winter is that the owners have said they want to continue grooming these dogs themselves, yet they have already shown their complete inability to groom based on the condition of poor little Snow’s matted and filthy coat and rotting teeth. I have no problem if they attempt to keep them groomed and definitely hope they can do so, but I only hope the owners recognize that if they are unable to keep them well groomed they need to commit to the reality that they need to take these adorable pups to a groomer ON A REGULAR BASIS - and BEFORE they become so matted they have to be shaved down before they can even be bathed. Another commenter noted that she groomed her Maltese while she watched TV - perfect! Brushing them every night (or at least a couple times a week) and bathing them on a regular basis will keep them from looking like poor Snow’s condition when he came in. If not, then commit to a groomer every couple of months BEFORE they become so matted they have to be shaved down. Not trying to be a Negative Nellie here, but why have these beautiful coated dogs if you continually have to have them shaved down? As I mentioned earlier, I’ve had other coated dogs after my attempt with the Maltese, breeding, showing and grooming multiples of Yorkies and Silky Terriers at a time, and it takes a LOT of work and a LOT of commitment! I truly hope the owners of these two beautiful little dogs will make that commitment.
Neglect is abuse regardless of the age or financial situation of the owner. The condition of Snow is despicable, criminal. Sickening that the owners then presumed to get another Maltese. Sorry, but every owner can afford a brush and some dog shampoo. No excuse for the lazy, cheap, neglectful owner of these two poor dogs.
Me too. Poor little boy, I hope it's not because he's old and the puppy is new. He did have surgery though, sadly his teeth are rotten and they should be addressed, think of the pain in his mouth. I am taking care of a 12 yr old toy poodle and she has had really good care all her life and by now has very few teeth left, but they are good.
Getting their paws shaved out has to be the weirdest feeling, but then the most awesome feeling when they walk on them for the first time. Like, "I can actually feel the floor now!"
I don’t understand why people get a dog that needs brushed several times a week, then neglect them. To add insult to injury, they get another one that needs the same type of care.
@@theashwoodfaerie you are on every comment defending the owners. But lets me be real, out of all the dogs vannessa has helped, this one is just point straight neglected! If you watch the video again, they have been to previous groomers where he also was matted, so it not a one time occurance. So his fur has been shaven down more than once, when do owner then learn, start brushing and getting a grooming routine in. No instead these owners let their older dog get matted again and get a puppy instead. It doesnt matter if the dog isnt groom trained, it shows the owners CLEARLY do not care about groom training him or brush training him as they got another puppy instead. That they will probably neglect too!
To everyone being super judgmental how about you take a moment and consider that the dog isn’t being neglected because they took the time to go to a groomer in the first place! With Snowy being an older dog it can become uncomfortable to be brushed because their skin is more sensitive. Grooming can be more of a challenge because they have arthritis from old age and don’t want to be touched in certain ways so more frequent grooming is something the owners may not want to do. I’m sure those that want to will still say the owners are being neglectful but take a moment to consider the possibility that it isn’t the case.
@@theashwoodfaerie my poodle dislikes being brushed. that doesn't mean I don't brush him. if he needs it he needs it. don't neglect your dog just because they have to be uncomfortable slightly. also the more you brush, the less uncomfortable it would be because less tangles and it goes much faster
I know we generally try to avoid owner shaming, but I hope the owners take better care of both of them from now on... I understand not being able to afford a groom, but they afforded a new puppy while their poor old boy got more and more matted for 6 months -- and then evidence suggests he was badly matted then too, indictive of a pattern. I'm very sad for Snowy.
Some pretty unfair assumptions considering they've tried another groomer before, and ran into problems, and they've gotten surgery for the dog as well. If it was a truly neglected dog he wouldn't even be in this video. The owners are likely ignorant at worst of the severity of the matting and tooth decay.
@@mellia.6946But it’s okay because they have their new puppy 😒 I hate dog owners like this. I have a Maltese, and he’s brushed all the time and nails trimmed teats cleaned etc. There’s no excuse it’s just abuse via neglect
I find this video sad. I don't understand why someone that isn't keeping up with grooming and dentals would get a puppy. I totally can understand shit happens. Hopefully the shit happens doesn't become a times 2
Proud dog mom here!! I prepared my 3month old pup by combing her during play time and bathing her prior to her first grooming appt. She did incredibly well even the groomer was impressed. We bathe her every 3 weeks in between grooming and she hops right in the tub herself and lets us blow dry her. Ive also been brushing her teeth since she was 3 months. She’s a pro at all things grooming at a year and a half now 😊😊😊
That's awesome! My dog is a rescue and brushing his teeth or clipping his nails is a struggle. I get it done, but it's not a fun experience for either of us. Nails are usually just one paw per day over a few days.
The troube with arthritis is it makes standing still for any amount of time almost impossible. Poor litle Snowy, he was so good all things considered. Thank you for being so kind and patient with him. 😊
I had a Maltese years ago, Ms. Lily & she was a lot of upkeep. They really need to be combed daily, so we had a routine of watching the news while I combed her out. I was working at the time & it was hard to keep away the tangles with her cotton candy hair! But she was a wonderful dog, but anyone visiting with a pet was given the cold shoulder, LOL. But oh my goodness, seeing Winter makes me want another Maltese!!
So much easier to have short-haired dogs! What on earth did they breed these ridiculous dogs for? Sorry, they're cute but I don't think nature intended for dogs to require so much salon time. 😄
@@kittywilhite9583I’ve had dogs all my life and most were heavy shedders, like German shepherds, Rottweilers, and labs. But they were easy to groom. Just needed a daily brushing, a bath only when dirty, and a quick blow dry. My Toller would get some matting behind her ears but I used scissors and cut them out. No salon time needed. There was no way I was going to get a dog which needed salon time, no matter how adorable. I like my dogs simple. lol.
That puppy had her thinking face on during the groom, she was clearly watching and learning and being just so good. I hope they get a good warm jacket for older bro, that must be a cold winter for him like that. I also hope they get his teeth done, it can perk them up so much.
Unlikely since most vets won't risk putting a dog that old under anesthesia unless it's absolutely necessary (like the procedure on the lump he had on his rear end). It's just too high risk.
@@MDev1997 Sad, but true. I have two mini doxies, 15 &14 that the vet won't do dentals on anymore for that exact reason. We use dental chews and I will take a little tooth brush and do what I can.
I had a last dentals done when my dear departed Yorkster was 12 or 13 (rescue), so maybe that is about the cut off, but they do some diagnostics first to be sure. It did perk him up as usual, so I was glad. He passed at 15 or 16 and they'd gotten pretty bad again despite my efforts. He still loved to eat, tho, had the big treat of a hot dog the day before he passed. 😅 He was pretty active right up until breathing issues struck, real quick like. I was not at work as I had feared, so I could hold him. 😌
All the maltese - pure and mixed that I have ever come across where fiesty so this was a complete shock, both the dogs where super gentle and well behaved especially the senior doggo, especially after having such a bad experience with the blade in his prev groom- I thought he would react negatively but not a bark or a bite from him. Poor doggo. I hope he feels better now ! And the puppy was so gentle too. I hope she stays that way!
How funny. All the Maltese I've ever come in contact with were all sweet and calm. Don't get me wrong, they get zoomies and have attitudes when playing but through a grooming experience, they've had a little bit of energy but mostly were good pups, not fiesty. I just now put my neglected Maltese boy to bed (time got away from me and it's past his usual bedtime). First, he goes into the inverted Superman pose so I can "rub the tummy, scratch the pits" and then I scoop him into my arms and hold him like a baby as I carry him to his bed. It's a portable playpen loaded with his favorite blankie and a fluffy teddy bear that's bigger than he is. He loves to cuddle it while sleeping. Love how all pups have their own personalities. :)
I’m not want to comment on these types of videos because you do a very good job of not calling out the owners, I don’t know the situation, if a dog gets this matted at this size of dog, which is likely not a farm dog I really wish owners would take more proactive approach in their dogs daily grooming. Especially now that he has a four month old puppy is the little one is this matted as well.
I will never understand how some owners let their dogs and/or cats coat get so unbelievably matted. I'm talking about neglect where it's been like that for a while, and not the coat getting matted for other reasons. Like they got wet and ran through the woods or a short faced cat being unable to clean itself etc. Which then, of course, you get them de-matted as soon as you can. That's why it's important to do research and get a breed of dog that's coat suits your lifestyle. Don't be getting a Doodle because you want "a cute fluffy dog" yet you don't want to do the upkeep.
Or like me who inherited a doodle from my mom who said she could care for him and couldn't and I had no idea what to do never owning a dog in my entire life (I'm late-middle aged)
@@sandrae5609Not necessarily. Another post said he had a very bad experience at his last groom… and my senior dog has had 2 dentals this year BUT his teeth are already bad again. The vet said it’s just his genetics.
I get sad when I see dogs in these conditions, but I’m glad there’s people like you to help them. Poor puppies for living in half decent conditions, they enjoyed the spa day immensely for more reasons then you know!
Winter was so good! Cuteness overload! Poor Snow, how you treated him , with such kindness and gentleness is why I watch your videos. You are the way all groomers should be. Thank you for all you do for the furry babies!
They both did wonderful! For a senior dog that wasn't a lot of fussing (at least on camera) given all the matting. The puppy was a champ, just taking the new experience in stride and just well behaved for being in a completely new environment. Both of the dogs looked great after their groom.
Commenters... some of this criticism is justified. I had a Bichon Frise (relative of the Maltese) for his whole 15 year life and they are expensive. They have hair that mats. You know when you buy one that their hair does NOT SHED and it's very fine and soft, perfect for matting. Also, any vet will tell you you're going to have teeth problems. Plus you can pretty much count on luxating patellas. That adds up to thousands and grooming is the least of these. Plus she bought another one! I don't understand it.
Tell me about luxating patellas. Just this past January we paid $5k to fix my Maltese boy's torn ACL. I've had other Maltese in the past with luxating patellas, my girl got a deal for hers. The surgeon had a special that day: Pay full price for one knee, get the second one at half price. Seriously. We built a long, carpeted ramp for them to get on our bed. With treats and lots of praise, they learned to use it so we have little issue with knees now. Plus, we have a small ramp so they can get up and down the love seat, a small set of padded stairs to the couch. Their regular groomer now has a mobile service so now she comes out once a month to give them spa treatments. No, my Maltese are not spoiled. At all. 😄 I would happily take both of these little ones and give them all the pampering and care they deserve.
I hope Snowy & Winter's owner brings them back to you regularly. Maltese needs to be frequently and regularly combed. We self groom as well and keep ours hair short, #5 on the back and #7 on the tummy, so they can be dogs and play in the dirt. You are so wonderfully sensitive and considerate to them, keeping the experience positive for them. Love your work and love you channel.
Watching this is bittersweet. My wonderful Maltese died in September, and I miss her so much. She was a very good girl, and she would sing with me. We were so attuned, and losing her has been devastating. Thanks for everything you do for dogs and owners, and thank you for featuring the various breeds and mixes.
I am reading your comment and my heart hurts for you. Our dogs are much more than pets. I am sure that you were the best pet parent ever and you gave her a wonderful life I'm certain. Perhaps you could rescue another baby that needs you as much as you need them It's so devastating that we only have them in our lives for such a short time
Getting teeth checked/cleaned is so important for dog and cat health. One of adoptee cats had to have all her teeth removed; 75% of her jaw bone in some areas was rotted away. She also had a serious parasitic disease due to how she was kept, which could have contributed to her oral issues, and then she developed pancreatitis. (She’s fine now, happy and playful and affectionate and sassy.)
Having grown up with two Maltese, I totally understand the insane upkeep in grooming they entailed and their feistiness. 😂 Snow was such a good boy the entire time even with being a fidgety 14 year old. Winter was freaking adorable and was also so good for her first groom! ❤
My grandma's last dog looked like a Maltese/Shih Tsu mix, though he was a dumpster dog so we have no real idea what he was. Seeing Snow was like time travelling to being 10 years old again and playing tug of war with that tiny, sassy mop of a boy who would only play with tube socks. I'm so glad these floofs were able to see you today and feel their best! (And, thank you for the unexpected nostalgia moment.)
My parents had a Maltese, she was so sweet. I would bring her in to get groomed whenever she started to get matting by her ears. I saw the notes they had on her, it said, “Very good girl”. She was so adorable when she was done because they would put a bow above each ear. They also let her run around behind the counter after she was done. She’d be so excited when I would come to pick her up, she’d be up on her hind legs. I miss her, sweet little Dolly.
Winter has such a sweet and gentle temperament! What a good girl. And Snow is such a good boy. I’m sure at his age and with his ailments, grooming time is not something he looks forward to.
With Snow's coat clipped back that far, he'll be mat-free for longer, easier for his humans to bathe, and he'll be able to keep up with his baby sister a bit better. Pulling is painful; that'll slow him down. That, and he should just feel a whole lot better overall~ Winter was SUCH a good girl!! So well-behaved; a lil squeaky from nerves, but she's fine and she figured that out~
The problem with having such a short coat is that they will get sunburn if outside too long. As much as all my Maltese loved laying out in the sunshine, I make sure to limit their time so they don't overheat. They're in a longer puppy-cut so I don't worry about sunburn on them as much.
Isn't little Winter just the sweetest and best customer? Mind you, Snow wasn't the worst by a long chalk. If only they all were as good as these two, eh?
I love how much care is given to these animals as individuals. My dogs have gotten hurt at groomers so it’s wonderful to see. This is the only type of person who should work with animals honestly !
The only other dog I've seen lift a leg like that wasthe Cavalier King Charles spaniel my Mum rescued when I was a teenager. 'Charlie', the name his original owners gave him, lived to his early teens and developed a heart problem when he was about nine. One of the signs he was having an episode was him lifting his left leg in an awkward way. The thing with Charlie was that he was a greedy dog, and a smart one, too. He quickly learned that all he had to do when being told off for being naughty was lift his leg as if he were having an episode... the only issue being that he couldn't remember which leg it was he had to lift. My parents and sister, being dog-people, would make a lot of fuss over him regardless. Me, being a cat person, was far more cynical. The best of it was was that Mum also noted he would lift the wrong leg sometimes when being told off. Nevertheless, he wasn't a badly behaved dog generally, and had such a sweet personality even I warmed to him. He plodded on to the ripe old age of sixteen, when a combination of heart issues and a chest infection meant we had to do the kindest thing for him... and he went all that way, lifting the wrong leg!
Winter is the perfect grooming customer, complete surrender to & trust in the groomer. And this for her 1st grooming. She behaves & looks amazing, one of the cutest on your show.
Vanessa you've had a problem with dry hands. I was taught by a dermatologist way back in the 1970s how to treat my hands. He told me "get the greasiest thickest cream you can find, use it as soon as you get out of the shower, while your skin is still hydrated. Slather it into your skin and then wipe off the excess." I've used Eucerin cream since then, whether I'm just out of a shower or just working a bit into my hands at other times. I don't know of you can get it in Canada. It's a 50% oil in water emulsion with no fragrance. In my job working with animals I have to wash my hands a lot, same problem as you, and it's great for my poor hands including the cuticles, part of my bedtime ritual. :)
I use udder cream cause I already use it on my mini pig and it works so good. Also leaving a dot on a hair splinter for 5 minutes makes it so easy to get the hog hair out of my skin. Also use it on my poor bagel (beagle/bassett) who has developed eczema on his back now that he is an elder statesman of the braying hounds
Gotta love Bag Balm. I use it on my hands, rough heels, cuticles, and even on chapped lips. Love the stuff. Started using it when I had chapped nipples from nursing my son (he's now 45!).
Even though Snow was a very fidgety, he was still pretty well behaved for you ☺ Winter.... OOOOHHH MYYY GOODNESS! My heart was melting every time she would look at you with that face of hers 🥰 Both looked amazing! I love how you are so generous with your service. It must sure help the owners out so much and the pups end up looking fantastic. Thank you for what you do!
Wow that dog is in ROUGH shape, poor old man! I hope he's feeling a little better, it's wild how quickly things start happening once a dog hits a certain age. His sister though, what a little pie!!! She reminds me of a sheltie guinea pig I had, who was like a little mannequin. You could do anything to her and she was so tolerant and still.
The little one is so adorably cute and gorgeous …. And so very well behaved. This lady sure has a gift to know how to tame animals, that is why she is a top groomer.
my first dog was a maltese and i groomed him myself... i worked for a groomer and she taught me.... his first haircut was around 4 months so this was a fun video to watch! i miss my mozart! The puppy seemed like a dream to groom for her first time!!
I love the way the baby looks to you for comfort and affirmation. She's uncomfortable with the dryer, but she's looking to you for comfort. That is so heart-warming.
Such a sweet pair. Considering Snowy's age, potential health complications, and previous grooming experience, I'd say he was great here, but then I'm also just a viewer and not the groomer. Winter seemed fantastically well behaved. As always, excellent job grooming and the video is wonderful.
These two were absolutely adorable! Miss my little Maltese, Sophie, so much! She was the sweetest, most lovable dog, who loved everyone and was good with kids as well as adults. She knew no enemies whatsoever.💕💓
Maltese hair needs to be maintained as it gets matted so quickly, especially if they have winter jerseys on. Poor guy, they really need to take him for a good teeth cleaning and extraction. He will feel so much better. One of my favourite breeds. Our doggies have always been such sweathearts and have been amazing with my children.
Winter really IS the best puppy ever! She's very attentive too, every time you spoke she watched your face like she was really trying to figure out what you were saying.
I always say I would be pissed off all the time if I was a groomer. There are soo many dogs that's not properly cared for. People get high maintanance dog but don't do the work it takes.. it pisses me off. I love your work. ❤
The little one is so well behaved it is almost like a setup for our benefit. I absolutely know that is not true! I am so happy for this dog and its owners in their life to come. Thank you Venessa !
I see the same little behaviors in our Maltese 😂 Please tell me you do let the owners know how important it is for Winter’s health to get his teeth taken care of⁉️ Absolutely awesome 👏👏👏👏 Both are precious 🤗
Super cute puppy. I have a 13-year-old maltipoo. Now that she's older, I groom her with scissors, seems to work well. She has wavy hair, unlike pure maltese. I hope the owner takes the older dog to a vet for dental care and do a better job of keeping them both groomed.
Rotten teeth, matted & dirty fur 😢 I understand that the owners may struggle financially and be unable to look after him properly. But, in that case, why would they bring a new puppy into the household?
Especially a new puppy that will have the exact same high maintenance needs of the one they already have and can't seem to manage (and may have cost thousands of dollars to purchase)!!
@@TDoubleYu It's a Maltese. Purebred dogs don't just drop out of trees. Either they bought that dog or someone gifted it to them, but my guess is that they bought it as a "replacement" for their older dog, which is also disturbing.
My lil maltese was crying in the background hearing Winter whine (during her brother’s appointment). Was surprised she was so good. My lil buddy is the same age and cries a lot during baths so he heard the water and started whining- I wish he was as chill. I also don’t want to shame without knowing them… but I wipe my dog’s face every day. He’s not stained at all. Do they just not bother? Maltese coats are high maintenance- they need lots of help not to get matted. I hope little Winter does not grow up to have a future like poor snowy.
Despite their apparent neglect, these two dogs are wonderfully adaptive. They obey you, trust you, and like you. I feel for both of them and hope they are okay
I love when you explain the reasoning behind why you do certain things or perform steps in a certain order, it is so interesting!!! and I learn so much :) great video as always ty for sharing
Poor baby. And to be relatively good for the groom. And the puppy is adorable i just think they should have taken care of their first dog before getting another. And we all know babies are lots of work
I don't know how you've done it, but I could sit and watch your videos for hours! I bet you're surprised as I am at how successful this is. I'm so happy for you! You truly are the best, Vanessa. You called that puppy an angel... Let me tell you something from the deepest part of my heart... You're the real Angel. I'm so grateful to you.
Love the way Winter keeps looking at you during the groom, and love the way you talk and treat her so well. My 17 year old Pug Yorkie mix won’t let me near him and his teeth are a mess. I rescued him 2 years ago and don’t know of his background just that he was a surrender. The vet advised me not to bother with his teeth due to his age and the risk the anesthesia effects might cause. Thanks and regards from Malta ❤️👋🏼👋🏼🇲🇹🐾.
I'm trying not to be ugly but I really don't understand why Winter's parents let him go so long without grooming.? That matting had to be painful for him. One of the things about being a good pet parent is knowing what your dog needs and doing whatever they need. There is no excuse for going several months before grooming and visiting the Vet concerning his teeth would be in order. He's a helpless animal that depends on his parents to keep him from being matted and pain-free. Thank you for the care you gave him Vanessa
@@theashwoodfaerie If they could not take care of their senior dog by having him groomed or his teeth cared for, why did they get a puppy? In my opinion, You take care of your pets like they are a member of your family. If you cannot afford to fulfill the basic needs of your pet, then perhaps you shouldn't have one. Vanessa has said countless times on her channel how painful it is for a dog to have matted hair. She also encourages people to research the breed of dog they are thinking of getting so that they aren't surprised that they might need to be groomed and brushed regularly.
STOP with the shaming!

I’m so sad at the condition Snow was in. Poor old man, he deserves better.❤️🇨🇦🐾

I cannot imagine the irritation of having mats between my toes. It must be weird to have them removed, then lovely. ❤
I imagine it feels like pulling out a piece of sock fluff that's been stuck between your toes all day, but better😂
I don’t understand why people get a dog that needs brushed several times a week, then neglect them. To add insult to injury, they get another one that needs the same type of care.
@theashwoodfaerie some dogs don't like to be brushed, but that's still no excuse to neglect a dog that NEEDS brushing
Exactly, and the teeth, poor dog :(
To everyone being super judgmental how about you take a moment and consider that the dog isn’t being neglected because they took the time to go to a groomer in the first place!

Even the teeth are rotten and the nails are too long. The dog is neglected. That’s a fact
Rotten teeth in a 14 year old dog is not uncommon@@mellia.6946
Some pretty unfair assumptions considering they've tried another groomer before, and ran into problems, and they've gotten surgery for the dog as well. If it was a truly neglected dog he wouldn't even be in this video. The owners are likely ignorant at worst of the severity of the matting and tooth decay.
I completely agree!
@@mellia.6946But it’s okay because they have their new puppy 😒 I hate dog owners like this. I have a Maltese, and he’s brushed all the time and nails trimmed teats cleaned etc. There’s no excuse it’s just abuse via neglect

She’s a pro at all things grooming at a year and a half now 😊😊😊
Cool!!😊😊
That's awesome! My dog is a rescue and brushing his teeth or clipping his nails is a struggle. I get it done, but it's not a fun experience for either of us. Nails are usually just one paw per day over a few days.
That's amazing that you persevere. You must be a great dog owner

Me too. Besides, they look adorable in a puppy cut.
I like my dogs simple. lol.

Winter is just so calm! She says "I don't know what's going on, but it's fine." So adorable!
I have senior dogs and the vet refuses to do a dental for the same reason.
That’s what I was thinking too. She was watching every little thing like she was learning how to do it. She wants to grow up and be a groomer.
That poor older dog. And he was such a lovely temperament. And the baby did so well
I’m sad for the younger pup. Hopefully his family will take care of him better than his older sibling. 😢
They won't.

@@MagnakayViolet This is PERSONAL!
I’m even more worried about his rotten teeth.
Agreed. This is neglect. And they have the audacity to get a puppy of the same breed.
Yeah we know the puppy is going to be in the same state eventually
These adorable pups came in looking like dirty snowbanks & came out looking like fresh fallen snowdrifts! Winter is going to be one amazing dog! 💕💕
No it’s not! You don’t know their story
Perhaps you could rescue another baby that needs you as much as you need them It's so devastating that we only have them in our lives for such a short time
So sorry Rosemary x

I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet girl. Tears of understanding.
Snow was such a good boy the entire time even with being a fidgety 14 year old.

Do you feel like these neglect grooms weigh heavily on you? I don’t know if there’s enough conversation around compassion fatigue with groomers.
My vet talking about the inevitable fate of many 'rescue' dogs- I will never forget the pain in her eyes.....
The look on Winter’s face: what in the world is this woman doing to me? She was an absolute champ!
I wish people would take care of their pets teeth, it's so important to their overall health.
With Snow's coat clipped back that far, he'll be mat-free for longer, easier for his humans to bathe, and he'll be able to keep up with his baby sister a bit better. Pulling is painful; that'll slow him down. That, and he should just feel a whole lot better overall~
Winter was SUCH a good girl!! So well-behaved; a lil squeaky from nerves, but she's fine and she figured that out~
I don’t think his humans bathe or brush him
@@Snakesnarlnot your concern
@@carlakenyon6073 yeah I bet when you see children that are potentially being neglected you say, “not my problem”
The problem with having such a short coat is that they will get sunburn if outside too long. As much as all my Maltese loved laying out in the sunshine, I make sure to limit their time so they don't overheat. They're in a longer puppy-cut so I don't worry about sunburn on them as much.
I always feel so bad for dogs who end up having bad teeth, since in most cases it can be prevented.

What a wonderful story! I love how we humans remember them like they were siblings, daughters and sons. And of course they are.

Bag Balm!! Used by farmers. Green square can
As a dairy farmer that suffered from dry chapped hands in the Spring I found Bag Balm worked miracles too.
I always wonder why she doesn’t wear rubber gloves…
Gotta love Bag Balm. I use it on my hands, rough heels, cuticles, and even on chapped lips. Love the stuff. Started using it when I had chapped nipples from nursing my son (he's now 45!).

They're both so cute and well behaved! I hope snowy wasn't uncomfortable with all his matting
And teeth 😢
Both are so sweet!! But Winter..oh my goodness she is a complete joy ❤ She turned out absolutely adorable Vanessa. What a beautiful haircut ❤
disproportionately happy to see maltese on this channel! i also have an old man 14 year old maltese, really sweet and loyal dogs
They are both adorable.!!😊❤
Winter seemed to be a sweet dog and deserves better treatment.
@@Littlewildone0oh stfu. You don’t know and are making assumptions. Go save the dog if you care.
I believe you meant Snow, who is the senior dog. Winter is the young female puppy.
@@Littlewildone0we don't know their situation, maybe the puppy isn't even theirs, or they had to take her in, is so easy to judgy on the Internet with absolutely 0 informstion about the owners.
@@bluester7177 I know neglect when I see it. If they had to take the puppy to remove it from a harmful situation, then taking it to an animal shelter would be the ethical thing to do. I know life happens and people lose work or get sick but I remain to see thar neglecting an animal is the answer.
Dogs are really just the best people. They all have their own unique personalities. We had a poodle mix that dreaded her baths and trims with sad eyes and head hung low, while our jack russell danced and pranced and begged for his turn. He just loved 'em.
