@@durere here in the USA, any reputable breeder chips their pups when they go to their new homes. I know it's probably different in Canada, but knowing how good of an escape artist Samoyeds are, and the burrs and skunk smell, my guess is she ran away.
@@TeenDream888 I don't know how applicable this is to dogs but when I got my cat microchipped the vet told me that sometimes they fall out before the hole closes and sometimes they migrate so to always get it scanned regularly even though in our country cats aren't usually microchipped so they don't get automatically scanned at the vet's. It's possible this Samoyed's microchip migrated or fell out. Really unfortunate though. I agree that she doesn't seem like an actual stray, she's not matted enough for that and is clearly socialised to humans.

@@lornacy some people also get dogs like this because they're "pretty" and then when they realize all the maintenance involved, they just dump them. i have a mini eskie we picked up off the street and we tried everything to find her previous owners but nobody claimed her. she drops a whole pomeranian in blown coat twice a year and it's a lot to keep up with. she has a weird thing about being picked up or seeing other dogs being picked up so we suspect some kind of abuse was going on in her previous home.
Having owned a Samoyed, I can almost guarantee you that she simply ran away from home. They are diggers, so a fence alone won't keep them in. Ours would get it in her head that it was adventure time at least once or twice a month. Once they're free, no amount of calling or treats will get them to come to you until they get bored, and they don't get bored for many miles.
The dogs at the shelter I volunteer at will do that on their leash while I'm taking them out. I try to train them to stay on my right side since that's my dominant side but they'll try and change it up. 😂 I get dizzy every time! 💯

I had heard that a "burglar", for example, could get into your home with a Samoyed, but wouldn't get out. Luckily we never had to test that. She was very, very different from our German Shepherd Dogs, but was a great dog for the fifteen years we we blessed to have her.
Every time I brush my dog I ask him if he is sure that he is not going bald. The amount of hair that comes out of him is astounding, and it is a year round thing. He is 1/2 cattle dog and 1/2 Aussie Shepherd.

I really think she might have just escaped. She is well-mannered, sweet and well taken care of. She has a bunch of burrs, but sometimes a good roll in the woods on just 1 walk can do that. There's not many full-bred sammy's that need rescue. They are expensive. It's usually the mixes that are at rescues - ones mixed with huskies or shepards that I see.
Watching you blow out her coat reminded me of my sister's dog, a pure white American Eskimo. When she brushed his coat she would leave some of the hair(fur?) outside for the birds to gather. They loved to line their nests with it. It must've made a very soft, warm lining. Perfect for little babies!

Her videos are amazing. My elderly rabbit had some mats and I considered cutting them until I remembered what she said about mats. I got a good brush and got them all brushed out. He was super patient. When I was done he gave me kisses like crazy, flopped onto his side, and purred super loud in his sleep. He was super happy to have the mats out! To think that I would've cut them out if it weren't for this channel. The videos are also entertaining to watch 😂 (For anyone curious: my bun is turning 11 years old in a few months. Because of his age there are some spots that he can't reach to clean. He absolutely loves getting brushed and is a total sweetheart. We've had a few scares with the vet and one terrifyingly close call where we nearly euthanised him, but every time I stayed patient and every time he got better 😊)

Samoyeds are known escape artists and just take themselves off on adventures. Many stray samoyeds are lost or stolen rather than abandoned. Her coat wasn't matted besides the typical behind the ears most long haired dogs get, which suggests she was regularly brushed and groomed before becoming a stray, which isn't something you see from people planning to abandon their dogs

Lovely loved to jump in big piles of snow & 'hide' when they moved away from their neighborhood, Lobel kept escaping the new yard & found his way back. My relatives ended up letting a neighbor adopt him & he lived his life with the neighborhood he preferred. 💕

I have met a lot of dogs in my life but the Samoyed and the Great Pyrenees dogs are the best ones I have interacted with. Each one I interacted with were very good, lovable, AND majestic boys and girls! ❤

My son found a Samoyed on railroad tracks..purebred. He could not find and owner so kept him for 14 years! Cooper was a great dog.

My guess is the owners realized that a Samoyed was gonna be a lot of work to groom and exercise and _dumped_ her like an old Lazy Boy.

I have met a lot of dogs in my life but the Samoyed and the Great Pyrenees dogs are the best ones I have interacted with. Each one I interacted with were very good, lovable, AND majestic boys and girls! ❤
