Think of Me Music: Andrew Lloyd Webber Lyrics: Charles Hart From The Phantom of the Opera Christine: Gina Beck Her Majesty Theatre, London. Aug. 18 2010
I LOVE her. Often times I feel that Christine’s voice is just too harsh for the character and she’s the perfect balance between perfectly technical and not over the top and still very sweet and youthful (which often time is very hard to do).
Gina's acting and singing was so good in this! Can't think of a better actress than her in Think of Me :) and that smile she did when she did the cadenza was so lovely!
David Matos Sierra is great, but vocally she is not the best. She has numerous flaws with her diction, breathing, vibrato, and tone. I do not say this to hate on Sierra, in fact, she is one of my many favorite Christines along with Gina Beck, I just saying that I don't believe that she's all she's cracked up to be.
David Matos I'm not saying anything against SB. I just find it disgusting that they brought SB in just for the 25th anniversary and like a couple weeks around that. Bit of a slap in the face to Gina and whichever other actors were playing Christine in the West End at the time. I can't imagine having the 25th anniversary coming up and then being told you were being booted out of the role like that. It was a really dirty move on the producers' part. Anyhoo, if you like Sierra, go leave a positive review on her videos - that's more effective. :)
Gina should have been christine in the 25th anniversary and John Owen-Jones The Phantom. I will forever cry over that, biggest injustice in the history of musical theatre.
Gina deserves way more recognition than Sierra tbh. Her acting skills are better, and she sure looks at the right age here, unlike Sierra that always looked older for the role.
@@cgm530 maybe back then, cause now Christine's start pretty young too. Sierra is a great singer, and I loved her in the little mermaid but she's not my favorite Christine, and i hate everyone thinks she's the best cause they probably haven't seen more.
@@morganvazquez9911 fair enough!! i don't really have an issue with her seeming too old tbh but i would definitely agree with the second part - there are a lot of christines who deserve more recognition than her (or more than they get) imo
She played "Christin Dye" in Phantom and "Glinda" in Wicked....both phenomenal performances and both favorite characters of mine!!! Love it........❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow, so many Sierra Boggess haters here. :/ I love Gina Beck though, but I never thought Sierra was so discussed and scrutinized on the videos of other Christines...
It's more of a reaction against the very common opinion that "Sierra Boggess is the best Christine ever and anyone who disagrees is wrong". On video's of a lot of other actors she is often named as better than the person in that particulat video. And there can be a bit of a harsh reaction on these types of comments. I don't anyonr trumy hate Sierra ( she is a good egg). It is more the fans than her. The same can be said for Ramin Karimloo. Seriously, drink every time they are compared as better on somebody else's video and you'll be drunk in no time.
I don't hate her but I'm sick of people comparing her to other Christine's and saying she's the best and the others are trash. U can't say someone's better than her cause gosh her fans go crazy. TBH there are better Christine's than her and Gina Beck and Anna O Byrne are proof.
@@morganvazquez9911 every actress brings something new to the role. They are all unique in their own way. People doing the comparison are annoying, so just ignore them. Both actresses are very good at their field, as well as the others. THE END
It happens with every Christine, especially Sarah Brightman (which saddens me because I love her unique voice and her particular take on the role). There are a ridiculous amount of people who go to her POTO videos to say how much more they prefer Sierra or that she's overrated (which is a lie lol) and general, hate comments. It's disappointing that so many theater fans behave immaturely and disrespectfully on the internet. All the actresses who have played Christine deserve better than that treatment.
I didn't expect to like her performance here, but I love it. I'm more keen on the classical Christines and the early ones, a few of my favourites are Brightman and Caine. Gina just entered my favourite list. This is truly beautiful.
I love Rebecca Caine on those early London soundboards with Crawford and Willetts. Her voice is so pure, and for me she set the gold standard for that role as Michael did. Gina is fantastic, and probably at the top of my list, mainly due to her acting. It’s incredible. It doesn’t hurt that her voice and inflection are great. Two others that are up there for me as favorites are Amy Manford and Kelly Mathieson.
@@cgm530 I just prefer the more classical voices for Christine, like Rebecca Caine, Patti Cohenour, Claire Moore, Lisa Vroman...but I still think Gina is very good
Hermione, Gina can sing high notes; if you listen to her last think of me the high notes are strong and she sings a very extended, tricky cadenza well. Besides, no one person is "the best". Everyone has different strengths. :)
Instead of comparing this to Sierra's notes, we need to consider that the 25th anniversary movie was compiled from performances over several different days, so she has a bit of an unfair advantage over these live recordings. Besides, given that the tessitura of the role of Christine is well below those high C's, one can make a strong argument that control over the middle and lower notes (which Gina has) is more important in judging whether a voice is well-suited for the role. I'd rather have a Christine who was a bit wobbly on the high notes as long as her tone and vibrato were solid on the lower notes.

I love that she’s visibly affected by Firmin’s comment at the beginning.
Wow i'm speechless , the end is pure Opera , perfection
It's a crime that she wasn't Christine in the 25th Anniversary. "Don't think about the things which might have been..." :'(
Seraphina Xavier Sierra is a Godess. Be careful what you say

Seraphina Xavier You're very welcome! I find it sad that some people don't give other performers a chance because they already have their favorites.
THERE. IS. NONE. LIKE. GINA!!!!
Oh my God, how much I love her Christine!
Her appearance, acting, her sweet light voice. Everything is perfect for being Christine
Gina should have been christine in the 25th anniversary and John Owen-Jones The Phantom. I will forever cry over that, biggest injustice in the history of musical theatre.
Gina is amazing!
She's such an amazing Christine!!!
She is beyond spectacular.
Love her smile and how full of expression she is
STUNNING!!! and so nice to see chritines thoughts from the beginning to the end of the song xxx brava miss beck xxxx
Gina deserves way more recognition than Sierra tbh. Her acting skills are better, and she sure looks at the right age here, unlike Sierra that always looked older for the role.
i mean, sierra was the youngest christine ever when she started, so i don't know about 'always'

Sierra is always overacting and hasn’t got that vigilance or naivety that matches Christine.
@@sylvie3097 so true!
JOJ and Gina are my new favorites. Just such amazing talent!
The Phantom here is David Shannon
I really like this version of Christine! fantastic singer with good acting!

@@colonyofrats4193 Amy’s outstanding. She was the last Christine I saw in London.
That cadenza!
This is so cute :3
This song is so bland it's almost impossible to act it out, but she really does everything possible to make it come to life
i would've said she was one of the best christines for singing - i'm curious about who you prefer?

Wow she is just perfect😍
Wonderful!!!
Love it :)
Alright. that’s it. She’s my favorite Christine. Her acting is flawless.
She is truly like Christine popped out of my head, both in looks and voice. She is sparkling!!
I wish the person who has the full video of her with JOJ would post it, she sang even better in that show
she doesn’t beat Caine on my list, but damn she’s up there
btw the phantom is David Shannon
I wish it was John Owen-Jones.
I love Gina, my favourite Christine! Who plays Raoul?
Simon Bailey
Gina 💕

She takes to many sharp breaths in this song in my opinion.
Honestly though have you heard Sierra breathe?
Ashlin Raime True! I listened to 25th anniversary cd and was shocked at sierra's many sharp breaths. It put me off her voice for good
cadenza was trash
It was better than you'll ever be able to do.
Ashlin Raime that applies to you also :)
Oh Heavens, if I could sing like that I don't think I would ever stop.
And I was not the one bashing on a beautiful and talented woman. :))
excuse you?!
