This movie deserved better reviews. Emmy Rossum's voice is absolutely amazing. The acting and the story was great too. You can just feel the music in your heart.
I will never stop loving Phantom of the Opera....I first watched this film when I was 9 years old. I love lots of different types of music now, but Phantom is still my favourite book, film, musical, everything. I love it.
She sounds like a beautiful human songbird. She sings so well! oh and by the time i get idk im going to try to know all the words to the phantom of the opera. If possible. Every line to idk...all songs, speech etc.! i love it that much!
I love Andre and Firman's faces when Christine starts singing - they're like "What? A chorus girl can sing like that?" I love them in this film altogether; I think they're the best ones in it!
Sierra was better in general, but Emmy's coloratura ending to this is just perfect and completely blows any other performance out of the water. It's because she's opera trained. This is my favorite version simply because of that, although sierra's voice is better. Funny fact, Emmy was 16/17 when they filmed this, that has to make you respect her even if you don't like her voice.
While I do agree to this, you must first consider something. Emmy Rossum, when filming this movie, was 17. Sarah Brightman and Sierra Boggess have had much more time to grow their voices and to make them stronger.
I sang this for my school choir. :3 I loved how freely I could use my vocal range in this but nothing can compare to the feeling of this song sung by this wonderful lady. ^///^
my brother steve died of motor neoron dease his daughter age 8 chose this to be played at his funeral i will always love him, he is always in my dreams rest in peace love always your sister deb xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I know! I freakin' love Raoul! I hate how everybody hates him and stuff, it's not fair. I mean, he was just trying to do what was best for Christine, he didn't want her to get hurt because he loved her to much! Phantom had killed, what, 3 people? What does that say exactly? Yeah... I'm Team Raoul, I'm proud to be it! I seriously wish nobody would hate on someone just because they like him...
Well, I feel that in this movie musical they wanted Christine to be an innocent girl. So getting someone with a less powerful voice gives that innocence...
Seriously! What do people think this story is about, anyway? The Phantom is an insane murderer who impersonates an angel to gain the trust of an innocent young girl who he kidnaps, and then, when he loses that trust, pretends to be her dead father to win it back, all while threatening her fiance's life. Raoul is a patron of the arts and Christine's childhood sweetheart, who adores her, wants to see her happy, lets her make her own decisions, and tries to protect her from harm. Easy choice!
Christie And Raoul, and the beautiful Phantom,, oh how i love this movie, i saw the second stage play Love Never Dies.. beautiful,,,, but would have loved to have seen the original Phantom.. how magical it must have been, i' m a big closet fan, of opera and plays, well ,. not so much a closet, because i just came out of one..
The first time I heard this song was in school in music class and it wad good the the whole time I got thus damm song in my head an I ccouldt stop thinking about it after that
strange, because i never had this happen to me for a film - at first i thought emmy rossum wasn't pretty enough to play christine, then i watched it again, years later, only to think i must have been out of my mind because she's really beautiful. .
this is the song that inspired my voice, now i'm getting a lot of positive remarks from people who hate me for no reason.........LOVE YOU RAOUL! YOU TOO PHANTOM!!!!!
Everyone feels for the phantom but let's be real, if yew were Christine and yew had to choose between the first and only guy you ever loved and a deformed, creepy, stalker, murderer; who would yew choose? Everybody feels for the Phantom, the story is written in that manner. But he was never ment to be loved, perhaps if he had worked harder to be celebrated instead of feared..but he was too worried about losing the only thing he ever loved to think rationally. Love does that to people..
I love all the movies, the play, but the book is just so awesome! Yes, all of movies and the plays were based on the book by Gaston Leroux. Read it, it's a page turner!
Your niece appears to be a very intelligent fair child, that was an ever so lovely gesture, these lyrics are very precious. I also think your love for your brother seems very special I have always admired brotherly love, to be honest I think is one of the most precious things, a brother loved like that is indeed a special thing: I only wish I had such relationship and hope I can attain something very similar in love.
I actually dont like opera:D but Christine make me feel warm inside when she sings:) She has a beautiful voice. But Raoul is cute:D And he has a beautiful voice 2:D
when i first saw this movie i thought it was going to be boring but when my teacher told we only had about a minute left in class so she was going to turn it off i almost screamed and broke down crying i love this movie so much exspesaly this part and the very ending
there actually is a sequel its called "Love Never Dies"... its not a movie but there is a stage musical called "Love Never Dies" that is a sequel to "The Phantom Of The Opera" you could probably find a movie version of the stage production though
I agree with her as well. I can also sing those notes, and hold them for some time as well. I personally think Emmy did a good job, but Sarah Brightman is the origional who most look to. All of them are beautiul and talented ladies who bring excellent music to the world. :)
I like Sarah and Emmy equally. It is your own OPINION if you don't care for Emmy's singing. Others have different opinions and yours should not influence theirs.
This movie deserved better reviews. Emmy Rossum's voice is absolutely amazing. The acting and the story was great too. You can just feel the music in your heart.
i love how christine looks very pretty, yet sorta simple, not that much overload of makeup, great dress etc etc
She sounds like a beautiful human songbird. She sings so well!
Also considering she was only 17 or 18 when they made this movie, her performance is really impressive. :)
This version is my favorite! Emmy has such a pretty voice
I would like to take this moment to put aside our opinions about the phantom and raoul and just say how spectacular this movie is!!!
I will never stop loving Phantom of the Opera....I first watched this film when I was 9 years old. I love lots of different types of music now, but Phantom is still my favourite book, film, musical, everything. I love it.
i really love emmy's version of christine.. she sounds truly angelic..
She sounds like a beautiful human songbird. She sings so well! oh and by the time i get idk im going to try to know all the words to the phantom of the opera. If possible. Every line to idk...all songs, speech etc.! i love it that much!
Every-time Christine hits that beautiful high notes I get chills XDD
I love Andre and Firman's faces when Christine starts singing - they're like "What? A chorus girl can sing like that?" I love them in this film altogether; I think they're the best ones in it!
I like both Sierra and Emmy, they are both great as Christine.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND THIS SONG!!!! I sing the whole song in my car at the top of my lungs when I get bored!
Well, I feel that in this movie musical they wanted Christine to be an innocent girl. So getting someone with a less powerful voice gives that innocence...
My first kiss was done watching this movie...Wow. Brings back memories....

Me- Yeah, I can sing this
*Attempts to sing*
*Fails*
Me again- okay, so maybe no one can sing as good as her.
Seriously! What do people think this story is about, anyway?
