Classic game follows the original donkey kong, while Mario goes and rescues the maiden. In this one is vice versa, kong is captured and is rescued by his son. It should be called “Mario’s revenge “

@@FUGP72 i think that’s pretty clear 😂 thanks Captain Obvious
The red creatures resemble klap traps as well. RARE took a few things from this game and implemented them into the DKC trilogy thats forsure. Diddy Kong actually started out as DK Jr. Nintendo didnt like the redesign and wanted RARE to make him a separate character, so they changed his name to Diddy Kong
@@chrisbeach423 Uhhh...except the way the OP worded his comment, it DOESN'T say that. Saying this game was a step in the direction of something that came out a decade and a half later is ridiculous.
@@FUGP72 I think that’s a perfectly reasonable thing for ‘em to say, actually. Certainly it wouldn’t be a crime for someone to say King Kong vs Godzilla was a step towards the goofier vibe that movies like All Monsters Attack would embrace, yeah?
It is pretty interesting how bassicaly everyone says that Luigi's first apparition was in Mario Bros. in 1983 and really forgets that little one detail in the intro of this game (1982) which you can see Mario pushing DK's cage and *another man helping him who wears like him and can be Luigi*. Even Nintendo really didn't care about it because the Year of Luigi was in 2013 and in theory had to be in 2012.
2面クリア後の、親父ドンキーの檻を吊るしたヘリをパラシュート傘で追いかけるJr.の姿が可愛いですね。
それにしても3面の電流の面の鬼畜な難しさといったら無いですね。
Mario made more sense when he was just a guy who did odd jobs: rescuing his girlfriend from a giant gorilla and then trying to capture the gorilla for profit, doing construction, cleaning sewers, refereeing sports events. Then after Super Mario Bros. he got typecast as a knight-errant who wears overalls and has go-kart races with his enemies, it's just insanity.
He was a doctor also
@Robert Phillips Just to abuse it? As in, to torture it for his own pleasure? That doesn't sound right.
My summer camp actually has an arcade room and I remember playing this game as a kid. It was so hard and I died way to many times.
Just follow what he does!
Technically the first game with "Mario" in it he was the antagonist
5:28 What is Donkey Kong saying? Here are my thoughts.:
“Thank you son!”
“Hey! I’m free!”
“Now I’m free!”
“You saved me!”
“Thanks a lot!”
“Goodbye cage!”
“I’m so glad!”
“I feel good!”
I remember I got the cards for this on E-Reader for Game Boy Advance! This game was so much fun!
5:28 Donkey Kong: I'm free I'm free thank you son now daddy it's going to cause more chaos than ever I'm planning on breaking into a flower shop and release an army of Bees
was this based off of "son of kong" like how donkey kong was based off of king kong?
thanx for posting....great memories, Ahhhhh the 80's !!
So Luigi wore the same color cloths as Mario here?
maybe Luigi forgot his plumber suite
Luigi hadn't been invented yet.
There were just two Marios there, I guess.
Ladondorf Mario Mario, and Luigi Mario.
Marc Baker oli
O.phyy
OMG, At the intro of the game, is that a 8bit remix of Toccata and Fugue from Bach?
The sound chips from this game feel like it came out in the late 60’s
The ending is perfect! XD
Also proves Jumpman DID in fact, survive that fall, (the alternate ending on the NES was due to graphical limitations), got his ass whooped, and ran away like the pussy he is! XD
***** yes, but that's because the ending was altered due to the NES's graphical limitations.
Hmmm...Interesting. Don't know why they removed stuff when they could've kept it all in tact. :/
That'd be cool! :D
Not to mention this ending also proves Mario is in fact Jumpman.
@@90bats ye
2:14 LOL, Can Can by Offenbach!
I played this a lot on the GBA e-Reader. Never seen these cutscenes before!
Mario was a bad person?
Yeah
TheSonic813 no he's a different one
And plus in the nes he is dead
@@pkgreyscale9484 jumpman is mario nintendo confirmed & the arcade version is the real ending not the nes version
0:08 I always love how the first Mario isn’t even pushing anything lol
It really starts getting more difficult on the level that starts at 3:29
Fun fact: donkey Kong jr is actually donkey Kong
0:05 Omigosh? is that luigi?
Jump man and Mario
The graphics in this are still way way better than any X Box system. That's right PlayStation for life :)
The landing after a jump sound is different than I remember in the arcade version. Awesome game. Did Nintendo ever release the arcade version for a modern console?
On the Nintendo Switch
TTL sound, that's why. No two arcade machines will have the same sound quality because of this.
Mario as a villain, Maybe I kinda like to see more of that

I find it interesting that in the NES/Famicom port, Mario falls to his "death" in the end. Here, he's just kicked out.
Mario is not a bad guy, that guy was Jumpman, and I think Donkey Kong(Original)and Donkey Kong Jr is the bad guy.
Doesn't it say "Mario"?
Mario's original name was jumpman.
Mario is Jumpman. Jumpman is what Mario originally was called before he's renamed to Mario.
Mother told me, yes she told me
I'd meet girls like you

Losers of the year?
Every time I got to thinking
Where'd they disappear?

Are rolling on the couch
Rolling numbers, rock and rolling
Got my Kiss records out
Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright
They just seem a little weird

2:13 And Mario is now invincible in Super Mario Land!
That’s the Can Can.
not only does mario hide the fact he kidnapped a sapient ape, he also hides his identical twin brother and acts like Luigi is his only kin.
this character needs to come back
Nice play through of the last round dude!
If Nintendo can bring back Pauline in M🆚️DK 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and Super Mario Odessey
They can do the same with Donkey Kong Jr.
Nintendo please bring back Donkey Kong Jr, I grew up with this character.. he is my childhood
Idk if you heard but, Dk jr is actually the modern Dk we know know, and cranky kong is actually the original dk
Donkey Kong Jr (16 Bit) got added as a racer in Mario Kart Tour during the Super Mario Kart tour a few weeks ago. During that tour, you could obtain him through pipe pulls. At this time, you can no longer obtain him since the tour has ended.
I really like the colors in this game...they are so bright
0:02 THAT'S HOW THERE CAN BE SO MANY MARIO GAMES THAT PROBABLY HAVE A HARDER TO FIGURE OUT TIMELINE THE THE LEGEND OF ZELDA! THERE'S MORE THAN ONE MARIO! There's probably a bunch of Luigis, and Princess Peaches too!
But infante Toads and one Bowser?
the other "mario" is probably luigi or maybe he used a double cherry and cloned himself
"Mario's" contraptions sure does look like..........
WARIO WARE. Pauline must be proud of him.......
5:44-6:11 What? Not again! I'm off, let's finish the longplay with a Game Over! -_-

Going to buy the Arcde soon of this. always been a favorite
In the arcade my top score was 630,000 but I knew people who got over a million!
John Alan Elson
wow. how the F@#$ did you do that? that game is so freakin' hard.
There is a bug where you put it in two player mode and then jump into the water at just the right time when player 2 comes up. The timing is tricky, but if you do it right you can keep playing and you keep going back to the first level as player one. It is nearly impossible to get through level 4 doing it the regular way, the red snap jaws regenerate and the birds are thick. This makes it fun ... you never even have to get to level 3 let alone get past four!
I didn't know birds were capable of killing an ape
What if bowser tricked Mario into being evil
Why was the video actually interesting
Watch church Sunday/Wednesday to learn about the one true God.
0:02 little known fact, that second mario on the left is actually Luigi

Mario: You stay in here!
Alex: SARAH MARK! PLEASE HELP ME!
Sarah: it's okay Alex we coming!
Mark: Come back here Mario!
I don’t like Mario as the bad guy
And I don't think Shigeru Miyamoto did either
Mario is the most evil character in Nintendo, locking a father in a cage and trying to kill his own son in front of him...
EnforcerX71 Mario has done like 3 bad things in his life I bet you did 1 bad thing in your life not everyone is perfect
Yeah, but those are pretty big bad things to do...
+EnforcerX71 okay that is right I guess sorry😖
+Angie Kudron You are a stupid kid.
The Greater Ark He clearly is.
DK Jr. Is DK from DK Kountry and DK Sr. Is Grandpa Kong.
*Country *Cranky
Wrong.
The only game where Mario was a villain.
People in the replies: shut up about theories, they’re theories, not canon. I know about Mario killing Goombas, Sacrificing Yoshi, etc. Those are what the player MAKES him do.
0:05 2 Marios/Jumpman?
He was called Mario in that game.
Also the 2nd one is actually an early version of Luigi
I can't believe PopEye went from eating spinach, to jumping over barrels, to locking Cranky Kong in a cage only to have...Donkey Kong's father...? Is that his name? Save him!
It is NOT Cranky Kong. Rare's story is BS.
@@LITTLE1994 Well, the Jump man who locked up is NOT Mario!
@@GMKGoji01 Jumpman is Mario. Nintendo officially confirmed it.

This brings back such fond memories. I'll never forget playing it at a skating rink and one of my classmates came up to me and said some hot girl wanted to couple skate with me and I let him take over the game and I did couple skate with her and we dated for 3 years. This game reminds me of her.
funny how simple things like arcade games back in the day will imprint a memory for you!
@@furnitureconsortium great story.
@@Surfer041 why can’t Donkey Kong Jr. be IN The Super Mario Bros. Movie?
Classic game follows the original donkey kong, while Mario goes and rescues the maiden. In this one is vice versa, kong is captured and is rescued by his son. It should be called
“Mario’s revenge “
Me and my Cousin used to play this and purposely make Donkey Kong Jr die, we'd laugh our asses off.
