Canon T7i Review and why you shouldn't buy it

- I've been using the Canon Rebel T7i for a few months for videography and vlogs and I can truly say it's a great camera. But, there are better options. It's the first Canon Rebel with Dual Pixel Autofocus which is fantastic, but it lacks 4k and if you're okay with that the Canon SL2 is basically the same camera...but smaller and cheaper.
I'll compare the T7i with the Canon SL2 as well as my previous camera the Panasonic Lumix G7. I'll also show you HDR, Digital Stabilization, and Digital Zoom and the awesome Dual Pixel Autofocus from the T7i.

I've been using my T7i for months now. It's my first camera and I love
+Andres Lopez yeah man, it's impressive. Thanks for the comment!
Andres Lopez good to hear i just ordered one as my first camera
Hey, I'm a beginner and I want camera for both photography and videography.
I'm confused between SL2 and t7i. I'm considering sl 2 and then buying better lenses.
Suggest me some good stuff.
@@Vishal-vf8yb damn same here, really struggling which to buy
is it nice?
I just ordered the T7i and when I saw your title I was like, ohhhhh nooooooo, lol. I am glad I saw your entire video. I think I will be happy with the T7i. I should be receiving it in 2 days. thanks xo Marta
+Marta Laura Zayas yeah it's still a great camera! Hope you love it!
Hey Marta, I'm looking at replacing my dinosaur T1i (sad lol) to the T7i, what are your thoughts now that you'd had it for a while??
I totally love it and there is so much to learn. I am just using it at a very basic level. I think it is great.
'gotta have that stabilization.

I’ve literally never watched a video this good in my life
+money marcc :)
Whats so good about it?
I GOT SO SCARED!!!
I was so worried on your title lol
I currently own this camera and it's most definitely my favorite one so far. Loved your video, thank you! xx
Sorry for the heart attack! Lol!
i was looking for this comment lol
You're a fantastic reviewer. Not chit-chatty, no thinking pauses, hilarious cuts with comments.
20 minutes for something that couldve been explained in 10
Wow, you just about covered everything about the Canon T7i! I know you uploaded this video about 2 & a half years ago but your narration was spot on
and your demos of videos were excellent, you get an A+! I was concerned about the video/audio quality & you answered my question. Going to seriously consider it! Thank you!
went straight to the comments because something didn't feel right. this camera is a the top of my list. i've been watching all sorts of reviews, and my mind was basically made up. I saw this title, and my stomach SUNK! HAHAH
Seeing this 3 years after buying it. I’m relatively satisfied with it tbh. It’s a great entry level DSLR
I got the t7i and I'm LOVING it. Really happy I went with this one after a lot of research...

Nice video. Here in 2023 I can say I have a T7i that I use every day as my online merchandise photography camera. I also have the 80D, 77D (a spiffed up T7i), and the SL2 that I have bought for a lot less than new prices; some at ridiculously low prices. I have tried them all, and found that the T7i was the best for my product photography for a few reasons. While all of these have WiFi, I've decided that I don't like that, and would rather just connect the camera with a long USB cord, and have it run Canon EOS Utility, such that every photo I take almost instantly gets saved to a directory in my computer where I want it. All four of these can do it. The SL2 has the connection on the other side of the camera, so it does not interfere with the movement of the tilt screen. Unfortunately the other three are affected. I liked the 80D's "C1" and "C2" settings that allowed me to program in my settings for tripod and handheld photography for easy switching between, but I found I could get it close enough to ideal with Av on the T7i. I shoot both photos and videos of my products, so I want one camera that meets both needs. The 80D will not record in VGA light, which works best for my quick videos that need to be small files. That leaves the best to be T7i, 77D, and SL2. 77D has some nice features that are useful, including a locking mode dial and a thumb control wheel on the back, but they are not of great use in how I use it. It is just as good, but almost too good. The SL2 is so nice and small that it is easy to take on trips, and it is possible to get nicer shots. The T7i came in a junk lot because the flash doesn't work, but I don't use the flash for my product photography, and the camera was effectively free, which makes it nice. I don't care about the lack of the thumb wheel because I just set the aperture at small aperture for good depth of field and leave it there. Unfortunately the newer 18-55mm F/4 STM lens is not good for close focusing, so I use an older 18-55mm F/3.5 STM lens. That works great.
For beginners its a very good camera. I have a 650D and i can take a good shots using it, usually it depends upon the lens. The dials/wheel is usually not an issue as I have a touch screen so no more menu diving.
+Chris Chris yes very true. Great camera for beginners! The lens helps alot.
I have this prime camera and love everything about it! I’m happy I saw this video after I bought it.
I’ve taken some beautiful pictures with the t7i. I totally love it. I literally take it everywhere. LITERALLY. Depends on your skill. Keep in mind all of you watching when he’s showing you the screen it looks weird cause he’s recording it. I use it totally on Manual. Love it
You are one of the few guys that review cameras..know what you are talking about and are charming and funny. I need you in my life! It's time for an upgrade for me...I am so tired of being fuzzy....I have a entry-level Canon DSLR and I do have a hard time with focus....xxoo Susan
Geesh , lmao after watching the whole video I thought you would have like 100k subs
+JoshieTheGoat lol, thanks! One day :)
Me too! I scrolled back up to see how many subs he has. He’s a Pro 😎
You can use back button focusing which will cause the camera to lock focus. Also you can lock auto exposure when you have back button focus by half-pressing the shutter button, or by just setting it to manual mode.
Awesome thanks for the advice!
Nice camera review. I have some good news for you, there is a focus lock to temporarily stop AF from changing, without using the AF/M switch on the lens. The t7i has an icon on the screen for servo AF. Servo AF is continuous AF. Tap it to momentarily stop continuous AF and tap it again to turn continuous (servo) AF back on. That's the focus lock you are looking for. You can turn it on and off during recording.
Oh nice! How did I miss that? Thanks so much!
Oh... and have you played with IPB vs IPB Light in the compression settings? I have been recording to IPB Light to save space... but I am wondering if I am really losing out on a higher quality possible with normal IPB? I couldn't find anyone comparing this online....
You’re one of the only “review” people on RUclips that I enjoy! Surprised you don’t have more subscribers. Thank you for this!
Wow, seriously thanks so much! There alot of great ones, but that means a lot. 😀
This video is exactly what I was looking for in a review, pretty simple, super helpful!
Thanks for your review. After my T4i was stolen last month, I am in the market for a new camera. You helped make my decision easier. I am heading out to buy the T7i
Awesome! I hope you love it!
I brought this camera 2-hand last year and my family loves the pictures and video, so much they do not longer take pictures with their cellphones, I just give them the camera and they have fun using it.
This or a6000 or 6300 for taking aesthetics pictures... Streets, cars, indoors, female models? Thanks in advance! :)
For photos, I really couldn't tell you. But my less informed opinion is the T7i might be a better option if you want to save money on lens. I know Sony lens are pretty pricey
Ok I see, how about Canon 80D or Canon EOS 7D Mark II compared T7i? :)
@@FLawLesSTaStE 80d and 7d mark II are both not in the same price bracket at all
I thoroughly enjoyed your video and I don't watch videos after 10 minutes most times lol. The only thing is now I'm confused because I thought you were really praising the T7i but then again, I probably wasn't paying close attention cus I was walking my dog lol. Well I just ordered the T7i. It'll be for photos and Vlogging. This video was actually why I bought it but I didn't get to the end lol. I'm still happy cus all the reviews are 👌🏾
This is the first video on YT where the clickbait was entertaining, and informative and i wasnt annoyed that i got clickbaited lol
This is my first DSLR and I absolutely love it. I only take pictures of my family and landscape. Haven't had any trouble so far.
Nice! It's a great camera :)
"I don't need my lenses to survive a nuclear blast" Favorite part of the video xD
+Raymundo Hernandez lol thanks! I wondered if that slipped by people :)
Very extensive review of the T7i, awesome video
+Raymundo Hernandez thanks so much! Hope it was helpful. I used to do much shorter reviewd but this one went so well, I think I'm going to keep doing reviews like this for a while. Just launched another one last night about that new Amazon Fire Tablet 10in.

It's too expensive for my budget right now but I've been saving for the t3i I should be able to get in a couple months! Hope it good 😭
T3i is still a good camera :)
i just got a 550d

Nice - good to know thanks!
Right! Slow motion and everything.

@@Vishal-vf8yb if you want one for both photography and videography then the T7i is great. The SL2 is good for video but the pictures per second are lower and it doesn't have as many focus points. For recording external audio for videos you want the T7i because it'll have a port for plugging one in. The T7 will not have that option so make sure it's the T7i
as informative as it is hilarious, this is the best review on the t7i ive watched till date!! thanks man!
WOW okay this channel is amazing! You give clear advice, show the cons and pros of a product, and your voice is nice to listen to. I cant wait to see you get bigger :)
Thanks your video just made me look at other options. I have found that Canon cameras don't like a splash of water.
look who I found here 😳
I use a modded one for astro, and to me it has the best selection of menus, settings and flexibility...I love it.
I was hoping for him to explain what aperture and shutter speed are. I can never get enough of that
Video was awesome. Sound quality is great! Very entertaining. Title got me though, seems like people should buy the T7i. LOL... Nice work on grabbing people in on that.
Video makes me miss my 77D a little. The digital stabilization does work great for handheld video!
I believe the SL2 has less focal points for it's AF then the T7i also...
Big like!
+Fun With The Bugs hey thanks so much! The T7i is a great camera, but I think for most people the SL2 would be a better choice because of price and form factor. But yeah those AF points might make a difference for some and the stabilization is nice. What do you use now?
The Search For Awesome Yeah, 45 vs. 9 AF points is a pretty big difference. I personally don't the the price difference is worth going with the SL2 unless the T7i is totally out of budget.
Digital stabilization, while it does crop a little and I think takes a little hit on quality, for a non stabilized lens it is so worth it over watching someone's camera shake.
I am currently using the Sony a6300. I wanted 4K because I like to crop shots in our videos and having the ability to do so and still keep the picture at full HD is a big advantage. Well, to me that's the only advantage. I always render in 1080p, so I am not interested in the actual 4K resolution.
If these new lines of cameras by Canon had 4K and under $1,000 there is no doubt I would look no further the Canon and if someone doesn't need 4K which a lot of poeple really don't, I usually recommend they look at Canon. They are awesome work horses and very reliable!
+Fun With The Bugs agreed, I wish Canon would do that! On the AF points, I heard that was only relevant to pictures taken through the viewfinder - it uses the same dual pixel af for video, correct me if I'm wrong there.
I've been considering a a6500 for the channel recently for the 4k support and good AF. Glad to hear the a6300 is working well for you!
The Search For Awesome Definitely will have an impact on photos. Not sure of the impact on video would matter.
You just gain yourself a new fan!
Holy crap this video made me figure out my new t7i 😍 love it !!! Thank u thank u
Picked up an SL2 with the 10-18, kit 18-55, 55-250 (all certified refurbished), macro 35 2.8, and Yongnuo 50 1.8. I have a huge range of lenses now from 16-400 35mm equivalent, with extra primes for great low-ish light use. All this for the price of a higher end APS-C body. Super happy with it for stills and video. If Parker Walbeck can shoot cinematic footage with it using non-pro accessories, anyone can with practice. I've been playing with ProLost and Cinestyle profiles, but either way, soft or not, it's good enough for most people. I feel like I'll get a LOT of use out of this setup. Budget lights, tripod, sliders, etc. can be bought with the extra money saved on the body, so having spent a good amount of money to cover every single base one could need, I can focus on getting better.
Dang sick kit! Yes you can definitely get some nice footage out of that gear! Let me know when you make something with it. I'll check it out
For sure! Thanks for the reply. Gladly subbing now!
Finally! Every video I was looking at before this one actually had me think the camera quality was bad. But that is clearly not the case. I don’t know what they were doing but it wasn’t looking good lol. And also I love how well put together this video is.
+YXLtheMAN thank you so much! It might be the lens they were using. I'd lean on the 50mm 1.8 for the best results depending on what you're doing.
Really well done video, and I enjoy your humor style. I bought the Rebel t7i last year and love it, but I'm just learning (always used a cell phone cam before...), and haven't yet even started playing with the video side of the camera. This gives me some things to think about!
+Nefrai Laysh hey thanks! Glad you like it! Yeah there is alot to like about this camera!
Which one do you think would be better for product photography?
That was at the Georgia Aquarium, I know that Beluga
+C Williams good eye! Yes it was. I live in the ATL area. The whale playing with the towel was so funny.
It sure was I live in dubwoody
@@TheSearchForAwesome I live in Atlanta too
The fact you know a specific baluga made my fucking day ❤️
Does HDMI out clean to run external recorder? And is it true 1080p output?
The Canon t7i is awesome. I'm glad it's plastic. I use my Astro modified t7i for astrophotography and being lightweight plastic is perfect for attaching to a telescope. It reduces the weight on the telescope focuser.
Hey! I'm watching this in 2019, can you please recommend a camera in the same price range or shall I still go with T7i??
Nidish Vashistha T7i I bought it
It’s really good
Canon M50 any day
I just bought it today! Still a fantastic camera on the market. $800 on sale in Canada with a 22-55mm kit lens included (reg $1100). Good luck!
Kilo Alfa The M50 is fantastic for video but for stills,I returned mine. I thought it was just me but I don’t really know anyone that gets pro level stills even when using L lenses or Viltrox Speedboosters. I wanted to love it but... I was constantly disappointed.
I have had my t7i for about 5 years now. Still love it. Debated about getting a mirrorless canon but think I’ll keep the t7i. Any thoughts about t7i vs mirrorless canon.
Thanks for the information☺️☺️ I’ve been wanting a canon for years, I do like the fact I can flip the screen
Sure thing. Happy to help
The weirdness in the leaves is an effect of two things:
1. Canon DSLR image is usually not very sharp. Its been argued that these cameras actually shoot sub 1080 because of how soft the video quality is. I've used BMPCC and own a C100, both are 1080 but produce more detail.
2. In camera sharpening. Unless you adjust the picture profile, the camera will try to sharpen the image, that is to say it will look for tiny contrasty areas and add more contrast. Leaves on trees are a perfect example. They're small and the background is a bright sky. Therefore the camera processor will see the contrast between the darker leaf and bright sky and boost the contrast. (note the abundance of black areas on the leaves and very thin white trim around the trees -- thats the contrast).
The solution is the custom "Prolost" picture profile. Go to custom picture profile > use Neutral > turn contrast all the way down, sharpness to 0 and saturation down a little bit. This will give you softer looking video but less of that gross sharpening. It doesn't look awful unsharpened, but sharpening it in your editing software will get that sharpness back and with less grossness (it just does it better). Hope that helps! Great video!
+UnratedAwesomeness thanks for sharing! So if I reduce sharpness, it will help?
Yes it will! Like I said it will look softer until you sharpen in Premier or FPCX. If you don't have one of those, maybe keep the sharpening to 1 to give a little crispness without post work...
btw your channel is a search for me hahahah
+UnratedAwesomeness oh nice. Yeah I use final cut. I'll give a go when I see some softer shots
+The Search For Awesome lol nice! I will find you someday! :)
UnratedAwesomeness which camera should I get as a first timer to use to record content for youtube? You sound knowledgeable, thx. ( I want slow motion and time lapse)
Don’t let a video dictate wat u want it’s good for beginners just work ya way up 💯
Getting tired of these 20 min long videos that drag on an argument for too long and take forever to come to the actual point.
Then good you came to this well done video
Great video! Quick question, what settings did you use to capture the video footage? Its beautiful and I cant seem to get my T7i to look like it. Thanks!
+ElleAtThe Essex I try to set the aperture as low as it will go and typically auto for most other things. For white balance, I use auto wb w
Thanks! I love my T7i so far :)
The 800D imo justifies the price and size because the 200D lacks allot of features. The 200D has: just 9 (1 cross type) focus points compared to 45 (all cross type); worst AF in low light (-0.5ev compared to -3ev); and for video it lacks digital IS, very useful to have if you're using a lens without IS. I personally hate the size of the 200D and would go for a 800D any time. They're getting cheaper too.
+Jaime Almeida thanks for the feedback! Those are true, but I tested the digital IS and it was useful, but not $200 more useful imo. I didn't use this much for photography, but yeah I agree. Photographers will probably prefer the T7i.
Quick note here, only the center point of the t7i is -3ev, the other points are -.5ev. Still one point is better than none at all. This is also true of the 77D, the 80D, and the 6D mkii, all of which use the same focusing system as the T7i.
And also, depending on the lenses you want, that built in IS can be worth the 200 bucks. But it looks like you are using some of the cheaper lenses, some of which have IS already, so it probably won't matter to you. But for lenses like say, the 70-200mm, the difference of no IS and IS is quite a lot more than 200 bucks (500 for the F4 model, 700 for the F2.8 model). Also, did you have your lens IS on for your test? If so, maybe do the test again with it off.
I totally agree with what Jamie said.
+billynightmare I can totally understand that take. The T7i is better but I still feel it's pretty slight when using it for video. Pictures is a totally different story. For me personally, I kinda wish I got an SL2 instead for the savings, but can understand someone valuing those features for the upgrade.
Thanks for the feedback!
The t7i has a time-lapse mode which is pretty cool. If you want to do panorama's you could Stitch them in a million programs/ software.
IM SO GLAD I CAME ACROSS THIS VIDEO! I’m trying to decide between these two cameras but am not sure. Should I buy the Sl2
+KING K4L personally I think the SL2 is a better deal, that's what I would have done had I known it was coming. Get T7i if the extra af points mean a lot to you or if the digital stabilization will come in handy for what you do. The extra af point will help with photos taken through the viewfinder
Hello. You still haven't figured out a way to get audio levels to show on screen?
Bought mine on sale at Best Buy for $800. It included a camera bag, 32GB SD, 2 lenses and a $25 shutterfly code. Love it
Just part time. Selling prints
Thanks bro I was about to order the T7i and this saved my life lol 😭😭
For the money, what would you prefer to get instead? Thank you
People if your going to buy a cheap entry level canon just dont, buy an old pro camera, one that will be built well and take good pictures forever
INFINITY SKATE MEDIA 5d MK1 and 2 is a great option.
Which is better for photograhy nikon d5600 or canon t7i?
For a beginner mainly interested in photography, would you recommend the nikon d5500 or d5600 or canon t7i or SL2? Which would be the best bang for the buck?
I've never used a Nikon camera, but honestly any of those sound like a great start. I'd recommend the SL2 and maybe get a nice lens like the 50mm 1.8. that is really nice for bokeh shots
I'm still using my T2i.. what does that say about me? it lacks autofocus during video and when I do focus, it's LOUD but I still like it.
Love your shots from “the narrows!” A must visit place to put on any bucket list.
Is the sale better than that one in terms of build quality?
1 year with this bad boy... I'm lovin' it
when you recording a video, the auto-focus depends of that 41 autofocus points or not?
+Tinolex no from what I understand, that is just for photos when looking through the viewfinder. It use dual pixel autofocus for video.
the 9 vs 45 focus points and speed of focus while taking stills is enough reason to choose the t7i,,, honestly it feels like it takes forever to properly focus, after switching to the t7i I was able to spend more time shooting than trying to figure out the camera auto focus.
Which one is better sl2 or t7i for youtube and funny vines
+MM Iliyas if you're buying for video, I think the sl2 is a better deal, but if photography you might want to do the T7i for more AF points and higher fps options when taking a burst of pics.
Although I don't think you can use a camera outside of your phone for vines? I assume you're talking about when vine 2 comes out?

+Brianna Blush sure thing! If you're just wanting it for video SL2, if mainly pictures then T7i. That's what I'd recommend
The Search For Awesome the recommend i was looking for. Thanks man. Im getting t7i. :)
+Allen Sagor awesome - hope you love it!
The Search For Awesome what would u suggest for people who want vide and photo both which to choose ?
Personally, I'd go with an sl2 and use saved money on lens. It should be the same in terms of video quality to the T7i. Photo quality should also be the same but it shoots a little slower and might have a little slower autofocus. But on paper I think the tradeoffs are worth the savings.
hi! i'm looking to get either the t7i or the sl2, but I am worried about the 9 point autofocus on the sl2. I do lots of action and sports photography for my high school, so do you think that the t7i would be better for that kind of photography instead of the sl2?
It sounds like it might be worth the upgrade for you to get the T7i - but TBH I'm not exactly sure how much of a difference the extra points make
Which should I pick for macro photography (and maybe macro video as well.) The nikon d5600 or the T7i?
Im going to buy this (or Canon 70D)camera as my first. I've used a Nikon when I was in high school (i dont remember the kind) and loved it but the camera didn't have the image quality i was looking for. My lenses I was thinking about buying are the Canon EF 70-200mm (599.00 on amazon), Sigma 24-70mm (659.99), and Sigma 18-35mm (639.00) for beginner lenses (to slowly buy each lens as im only part time at the moment). I wanna capture people, portraits, landscapes and videos for fun. Would you suggest these lenses for the T7i and/or 70D?
thank you for reading >w
You'll probably be happy with either. The 70d is larger though. When I did my research while back the t7i had the same sensor as the 80d. In terms of lens if you're on a budget and want to do portraits the 50mm 1.8 is around $100 and it's awesome. I've heard good things about the sigma18-35mm and that's a decent range. That's what I'd want for what I do.
I'd say you don't need a lens for every focal range unless you need to shoot vlogs and things far away like a football game and you want images right in the action from the sidelines. Figure out what you want to shoot and then get a lens/lenses that will do great for that. Sometimes the less gear you have the better. Too much gear can be really frustrating when you are trying to get your shoot done.
The Canon 18-135mm ( 28.8-216mm ) STM lens is a fabulous lens.
@@machia0705 - I can vouch for that. It is the lens I use mostly. It is a great all around lens.
hi nice video, i've 2 questions; what kind of lenses did you have on T7i? (for ex when you were recording at the canyon)
I was curious did you turn off stabilization? lots of the footage here is pretty shaky!! I'm worried as I've just purchased this!!
Personally I'm not a huge fan of electronic stabilization. It does work well on this camera from what I remember, but it's at the sacrifice of some image quality. Not much but some. It's been a while since I used this camera, but I think you'll like it. Great image quality!
@@TheSearchForAwesome ok, great thanks for the info!!!
I've been trying to decide between the SL2 and T7i and the first 30 seconds of your video convinced me. Lol. Sorry you got undercut by the SL2.
If you're going to use single focus point photography anyway, wouldn't the SL2 be the better option? How do they differ in terms of overall image quality?
I don't completely understand photography autofocus to be honest, but I don't think it would be better with less points. Should be comparable though and yeah image quality should be identical
Thanks!
Either camera can get good quality images. Most of any good quality image begins with the person using the camera. Want to become even better taking photos. Practice, practice, practice will help get you there. Get out and take lots of photos and with time you will get better and better photos.
Thanks for the great video! Do you think the image stabilization for videos in the t7i would make it worth it over the SL2? Would like to have smooth video while vlogging. Thanks!!
A little but digital stabilization isn't magic, if you're camera isn't at least a little steady it can only help so much. I think you'd be fine with the SL2 honestly. Hope that helps!
Thanks bro much appreciated! :)
You do realize the stabilization is from the camera lens that is attached. Use a image stabilized lens
What if I bought a T7 should I get the T7i for the auto focus feature specifically???
The reasons you gave for moving from Panasonic to Canon are exactly the same as mine...the autofocus!
+vegasrenie yeah its really bad!
Thank you for adding the caption to the video thumbnail, i will steer clear of the t7i. Much appreciated.
I just got 2 batteries from a third party seller on amazon. Bought it used for $9. It worked better than the canon battery lmaooo.
What battery was it ?
i want to buy a camera for school (ceremonies, sports day, special occasions) AND Instagram too. im still a beginner with dslr, so in your opinion, which one do you think would be better for me, the SL2 or T7i?
I think either would be fine. T7i would be slightly better for photos.
I bought the SL2 instead of T7i. I'm totally happy with it.
+RKG Austin nice! I wish I had done the same :)
9 focus point?
+Jaxolotl For video it uses the Dual Pixel system from what I understand. You might have to be a little more patient when looking through the viewfinder.
I wanted too, the only thing that's holding me back is that SL2 comes with a 18-55 where as T7i(800d) comes with 18-135mm option
+Crippleback ah yes. I guess it does. Ever consider this bundle? 2 lens and you get much long zoom range. amzn.to/2zxySTt
As I understand, the weight of the SL2 and the T7i are about the same?
Wouldn't some of the stabilization features come at a price of reduced resolution, for either photos or videos? If the resolution is the "same", would that not be due to interpolation? As nice as those features are, seems like they could otherwise just be accommodated in post-processing, which would also mean saving battery life.
Anyway, great review. The T7i seems nice but I'm not too sure I'd really benefit from spending the extra money on features that I'm not so sure I'd take advantage of.
Yes you do lose some quality the more you digitally zoom or add stabilization. Not too much though if you need the stabilization in certain scenarios
@@TheSearchForAwesome Thanks a lot for the clarification. Since there is in fact some quality loss, I think I'd rather spare some battery life during my recording (due to image processing) and if I feel stabilization is necessary, I'll add it when editing the video instead.
Though, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the 3x digital zoom have the same level of quality as a 3x optical zoom (assuming we're talking a 1080p video recording) if the digital zoom uses more of the sensor?
This camera does not have stabilization. That's a function Of the lens, if it has it.
Thanks for the more video review side of this camera! Great content and your channel deserves more subs and views!
Does this camera have sound settings.? On my XD 60 it only has microphone adjustment when it's not in auto. I like to film bands and take pictures of them. If there's no microphone adjustment that will suck
Wich is best for videography nd photography ????800d or 77d or sony a6300 waiting for rply
Good question. Of those, I'd do the 800d. Flip out screen is nice for videos and photos and video should be identical to the 77d. Also Canon has some good cost effective lens whereas Sony's are pretty pricey
So tell me wich is best between 800d nd 77d????
I see them as basically the same. 77d is supposed to be better in some ways for photography - maybe has a few extra features here and there but image quality should be the same as 800d
I used a T5i,and it was awesome...Canon rules the inexpensive and great quality market,in my opinion, and those colors were GREAT..
Yeah they have an awesome look!
I got SL2, but still use 80D for 95% of what I do. It's just better, bigger and heavier, which in most cases is also better.
Wow! The camera takes great video quality and photo. I’ve been torn between getting a 4K camera vs a Full HD. My main use is for videos, So I’ve been researching the Panasonic G7 and GH4 to the Canon T7i. This video was very helpful in terms of comparison.
+Janae Miller Media awesome! I definitely think the G7 is a great camera too, but that autofocus on the T7i is super good.
You've got a new follower! Fantastic quality on the video, great insight and humor... I'm a fan! Keep it up!
+biggins8738 that you so much! That means alot. I'm in the middle of editting my next video right now :)
Apparently the batteries you mentioned are out of stock and may not be available again.
Thank you for this video!! Now I’m super super confused... should I get the canon t7i or the canon sl2🤔 like do I spend a couple more hundred for the t7i or do I get the sl2 and buy a couple more lens for it?
What did u finally decide to do?
@@janwencel609 wow, I left this comment forever ago haha! I ended up going with the Canon Rebel T7i and I absolutely love it. I’ve had the camera for a year now and so far, so good. 😊 it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made!
