Out of all the videos I’ve watched while doing research, this one is my favorite! And I actually stuck around to finish it. I have this camera right now & recently started feeling pressured to buy a more expensive camera. This video convinced me to just upgrade my lens & give it another shot. Thank you so much! ❤️
Hi! Aghh this makes me so happy to hear, I’m so glad you found it helpful and I think you made a great choice! I still have the T7i to this day and a new lens will open up soo many doors for you as you improve. Thanks for this comment and thanks for watching 😌
All I want to say is thank you! I have the same exact camera, and I kept doubting its capabilities. You just opened my eyes! I have got some great shots with it thru the time, but your experience with it and how you broke it down, I can't doubt this camera anymore. This was exactly what I needed to hear and watch. So THANK YOU.
Agh I’m so glad to hear this!! It truly is how we use the gear we have that makes all the difference. Thank you for watching! 🙏🏻🙏🏻 good luck and happy shooting.
I am also an introvert. And just purchased the t7. I feel very skeptical about it too. Like you said i feel like everyone is watching haha. But I’m going to make it a point to get out there and practice. Thanks. Awesome video
Great video! You are 💯 percent right about this camera. Not only a great beginners camera but also a great in general. My wife started her photography career with the T7i, as I started my videography with the 80d. Till this day, we still use our begginer cameras, for what the cost, Canon hit a homerun with these. Thanks for sharing and your photography is amazing.
Aghh I love to hear this, it’s so true! A true testament to the work coming from your eye and the person using it, not the cost of the gear. Thanks so much for watching and the comment. I’m still happily using my T7i to this day as well.
Also mention that for the clearest shots on the t8i which has a 1.6 crop censor, for hand held, never drop the shutter below the lens size multiplied by 1.5. ...for example when I shoot with my 50mm hand held, I set my shutter to at least 1/80 for the clearest shots. I go faster if I want to freeze the subject, slower to make some blur, but the faster you go, the more you need to raise the ISO or open the aperture. It's a fun hobby. Not as easy as the phone, but it's fun to have the control.
This has been the ABSOLUTE BESTTTTTT video I have everrrr seriously come across that you reminded me of why I LOVEEEE my Canon t7i! And you just made me fall in love with it again watching you talk and explain it's about the art! I had been looking at switching to sony when I had a chance, but I honestly stopped on your video to search maybe I was doing the settings wrong, and yes, I so understand that I was just frustrated because over and over messing with the settings. ..sometimes I'd get Amazing photos, than the next time bleh.. So i was like dang this camera is weird and would see people hype up sony as perfection photos.. So Thank you for this video! I'm going to go back out and just fall back in love with holding it and capturing through the lense again and just fool around with the settings until I feel the love I once had for it!❤❤❤ Thank you truly!✨️🙌🙏
Another banger video, and i like the fact that you didnt try to compare it to a high end body like most reviews, you kept it authentic and realistic. Good stuff man
Hope this video is helpful! Something I forgot to touch on is the reason why I intentionally shoot underexposed. It just allows me to brighten up the image and still leave it a little darker, instead of bringing down the exposure when editing. There's way more data in a photo hidden in the shadows, compared to it being over exposed, you lose data that way. Let me know if you'd like to see an editing tutorial as well, or if there's anything else you'd like to know about the camera. In the meantime, thanks so much for sticking around and the support so far 😌🙏 I'll see you in the next video

Finally, someone talking about how a camera takes pictures. I have been doing a lot of research on cameras and all ost people have been talking about is how well they do or don't take videos. I am in the market and may be buying a t7i. I had a t2i quite a while ago but gave it ti my girlfriend at the time. I have used my iphone 12 pro for most of my videos and photos but realize a good DSLR camera would be useful for me. Thank you so much for all the information.
You did an AMAZING job! I have a few cameras. Some of my cameras are thousands and some of on this level. My everyday carry camera is a EOS M3 by Canon, which is very close to the camera you highlighted. I agree with everything you said. Cameras like these produce amazing results, if you know how to create them. And you have to learn how to create them to get your money’s worth out of the newer and more expensive cameras. So you are completely right. These are the perfect cameras to start with.
Loved this video Jared! As a previous T7i owner it is an excellent platform to learn from. Definitely covered every aspect of it perfectly! Awesome job and I look forward to the next video!
This is a great video. The T7I/800D is a special camera. I have used this body for both photo and video. It's a joy of a camera. Thank you for doing this video.
A cool video, my soon stared to learn photography and he is doing okay he wants to Upgrade but you need to have passion to become a photographer. I like your story and how you dedicated yourself to become a artist even with a low budget camera thank for making this video to all of us who are in the process to learn photography. My budget camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T7 and all my lenses are older than 30 years old my favorite is the Canon Zoom FD 70-210mm Macro.I still go out for a walk and take a few pictures to inprove my technique. Thanks again
I’ve had the T7i for 3 years now, and I still love it. Not once have I felt like I’m not getting enough out of this camera, and I would gladly get another one. I primarily shoot with the Sigma 17-50 mm lens, which was a game changer for me. I also have the Canon 55-250mm and the 18-55mm that came with it, but I rarely use the 55-250, and the kit lens is just there for backup.
Thank you for this video! I just got back into pics and videos and bought a T7i. This was very helpful as I was on staff at college for photography!! Very very helpful!!!
Just came across your channel. Appreciate all the in depth information Bro. Trying to figure out best lense for family portraits. We like portraits with a mountain backdrop
I use this camera with 2 basic lenses for product photography and vlogging. Honestly it's such an old faithful! This video inspired me to practice shooting more instead of getting the mirrorless version I've been eyeing. 😅
your video editing skills have definitely come a long way since your first upload, I can't say I've been as consistent as you've been with photography but it is a new year, maybe I'll get more into it this time around. Keep making great content mate
Thanks so much! I appreciate that, and thank you for being here since the first upload. Agh shooting more is never a bad resolution 😌if you're feeling up to it, definitely get out there. People always say your best photo is just around the corner
Still rocking mine! It was(to me) the first “real” camera I got. Love these videos with the camera, been slacking lately and was looking to find inspiration. Keep it up 🤙🏽
Aghh I’m still rocking mine too! Really is such a great and underrated camera 🙏🏻 thanks for watching man! Hope the video was helpful. I’m actually filming another pov photography video with it this coming weekend, so that’ll be out on the channel soon
Hey Jared! This is the first video of yours I’ve seen and out of all the videos I have watched from other channels this was the most helpful and full of information with great examples and content! All your photos and video are amazing, I will say I’m an introvert too and have social anxiety but I want to overcome that one day so I can go out and take photos where I live and get some great shots. I currently use a canon rebel t100 which I got from Walmart for 300 bucks and it shoots very well but in the near future I’ve been looking to upgrade to the t7i because I used it in high school for my video production class and I am familiar with it. I have been wanting to find good lenses for my current camera but it’s hard to find cheaper ones that I can afford since I’m currently in college so I can’t spend a lot and your lens recommendations in the video really helped me get an understanding of different lenses! I also want to get better at photography and hopefully find the creativity I’ve been looking for. Your tips were also very helpful and informative! I saw in a few clips you had a plastic bag on your camera in the snow and rain and was wondering what it is and how did you use it? Keep up the great work
I've been an amateur photographer since high school (had a darkroom at home). When digital cameras first became available, and for several years after, I would buy the next jump in image quality and the "jumps" were really important. But now with my T7i, I see no reason to "jump" any more. This camera is good enough for my uses and I see no reason to spend money on anything more. I also keep a Sony RX100 III in my car for when I need a high-quality small camera.
I’ve been shooting the T7i since like 2017, Love this camera. I have a similar setup to you lens wise, 50mm, 18-135, 10-18, and I was given an old tamron 70-300 that died on me while shooting wildlife. I’ve been wanting to buy the sigma 18-35 and the 150-600 because I love shooting wildlife, but I’m thorn between investing on more glass for the t7i or investing in a new camera and lenses for that a new camera. I know that buying a new camera will be more expensive, but getting lenses for the EF mount ties me to this camera.
I have the Canon T7i, glad to know someone especially a pro photographer like you that uses T7i. Does picture style matters? All I know is that when shooting RAW you can do post-processing, but is there any aspects that I should look upon that can't be handled in post-processing? Thank you and hope to see more video/tips with your T7i.
Hi there! It's such a great camera. I think the best tip I can give for getting the best quality out of your photos is to definitely shoot RAW, and also making sure to expose properly, being careful to not overexpose, since that's when you'll lose some quality when trying to fix it in post. But shooting in shutter priority mode or aperture priority mode will help a lot with this. I haven't played with the picture styles when shooting myself, but I will say that keeping your white balance on auto will help too. Everything else can be adjusted in post processing, especially since you'll be shooting RAW. A good tip with this is also using the screen when adjusting your settings, since it'll show you exactly how the photo will come out in terms of brightness. Hope this helps! And enjoy the camera and process 😄 that's the most important part
@@alexSpunkt. I have to say shutter priority! It gives a lot of freedom with street photography because even when the lighting changes, you don't have to worry about your shutter speed slowing down and potentially ruining the shot. It's been a game changer for me.
The 50mm is a must for everyone who gets that camera. I have the 50, 24, and the 55-250. The 24 is the widest, but it's not my favorite lens. I shoot mostly with my 50 and my zoom in my t8i
The 50mm is incredible...especially for how affordable it is. I honestly should use it more myself, but I've stuck with the 85 and the 135mm for so long
I have the lower-end T7 and for stills it's an amazing camera, just wish Canon didn't lock the tilt screen behind the i because I had the T1i and they were fixed in 2008 just like the T1 so my thought process on buying an i again wouldn't get me much more.
I am using the same camera for Almost 5-6 years now. Lenses I have used i own (18-55 , 55-250, 100-400mm IS 1, 85mm f1.8) my very first camera. I still love it. Many a time I thought of upgrading camera and always reverted back. Can you let me know if we have any issues with sigma wide lenses. Like 24mm , 30mm either art or contemporary. Any autofocus or image quality issues?
Hi. Im new here! I just purchased T7i which is coming with a 18-55mm Image Stabilizer Lense. Not sure if that's a good lense to start with or just look for another one to start!
awesome stuff bruh 💙 i wanted to know how good was your cam in the snow as it was an amazing pov.. how do you rate your cam for weathershield and harse weather, how have you been taking care of your overall gears?
@@eclipseshadowyt5917 still using it to this day since making this video! Haha totally up to you and what you’re looking for/what your reasons for upgrading would be 🙏🏻
Such a great video I am thinking of getting it second hand online it comes with no lense any recommendations for a lense that will zoom in and out and do well with low light just an all round good budget lense
Thank you! Awesome you can get some great deals on these second hand. In terms of budget lenses for zooming that will do well in low light, I think it depends on your budget since those will be a little more expensive. But I will say that the 500mm 1.8 from Canon is honestly the best budget lens that you can get, that will be great during the day and in low light as well, and super cheap being only $125. The good thing about it is that you get a good amount of distance with it since the T7i has a crop sensor like I mentioned, so I think the 50mm is the best budget lens for sure
@@shaunareville1261 Amazing!! No problem at all. I seriously can't say enough about the 18-135. The versatility is incredible, and as I said I'm still using it to this day 5 years later. You can get away with using it at night as well, as long as there's light where you're shooting. Good luck with it! And enjoy the process 😄that's the best, and most important part
Until 4 years after buying, I discovered one fatal error of Canon 800D. When using AV mode, its menu has NOT the Minimum shutter speed function So it often let the shutter speed ho too low, for ex, 1/ 12, when I using 50mm lense All photos go blurred. Canon enginers have severe mistake . In Canon R. Its menu has the function" minimum shutter speed" , so all photos taken in Av mode are ok I think Canon must get a new firmware for Canon 800d , as soon as possible.
My favorite lens recently has been the 24mm 2.8 pancake lens! Not necessarily wide as it becomes about a 38mm with the crop sensor, but still, a great lens that gives you a true to your eye perspective nonetheless. I actually made a video about it on my channel if you're interested! It's this one here: ruclips.net/video/Gek7BG2Kn4I/видео.htmlsi=yV9DrIm77MzygZnN
@@alexSpunkt. thank you!! Now that I’m thinking about it, this isn’t a prime wide angle, but the 18-135mm I mention in this video is actually my go to for landscape shooting. I like it because I can go really wide at 18mm, and zoom in if I want a specific shot or perspective. It gives you a lot of flexibility
Such a great video. I have a T7 but it’s not too different I suppose. Your video convinced me to eventually upgrade to the t7i. Your content is awesome ; thanks for being informative without getting too technical and talking in circles. Quick question; my biggest problem with the t7 is the autofocus. It’s slow and inaccurate. With the T7i , since it’s touchscreen, can you simply choose where you want to focus by touching the screen? That would help me tremendously.
Agh thanks so much! really appreciate this and I'm glad you found it informative. Oooo that's something I forgot to mention in this video, yes you can absolutely touch focus. That's something I use allll the time, whether it's for video or focusing on a certain spot for photography. I can't believe I left that out haha
I know you like the 18-135, but in my opinion it has exactly the same vibe as the other canon kit lenses... they're fun to use but the image quality is severely lacking and disappointing, I can't explain it, it's not the sharpness nor the slow max aperture, it's just a look... I used a kit lens for 2.5 years (2019-2021) before upgrading to a 50mm f/1.8 STM and a Tamron 70-300. Both of those lenses were really cheap, 110€ and 168€ respectively, in brand new condition with boxes, but used. Both of them deliver image quality at least 3 levels higher than that kit lens. I can see in your shots with it that the photos you took are great, but if you showed me that I would say it was taken back in 2006 with like a canon 10D and some old 28-90mm from the 90s. In my opinions it's that same degree of an all-round worse quality than what the canon 800D's (T7i's) sensor can do, it's a great camera, no problems with image quality even on the 50mm which is mega sharp at f/8... When I bought the new lenses, now 3 years go, I felt as though I had been using my camera wrong and as though I've wasted it's potential. I felt happy that I unlocked this new level of photography, but at the same time sad that I've not taken my other nice photos with the other gear. I've been to so many places with just the kit lens and now I hate all of those shots, there's like 10 good ones from the 21K photos I've shot with it, they just look like phone photos, unprofessional and plainly unusable. It's not even the sharpness, it's not even the high aperture, I like my newer photos shot at apertures as high as f/14 and f/16 that were shot on the other lenses, they have no bokeh of course, but they just look nice and pro... In my opinion, for new shooters, don't get a kit lens... better get a 50mm f/1.8 or maybe even better - a 24mm f/2.8, that's a great lens. Both of them are about the same price or cheaper than what canon charges for their kit lens bundles and if you really want the kit lens (idk why) just get it used from ebay or a local marketplace, they can go as low as like 70€, no use paying canon for it... Gotta admit; yeah, the kit lens is surprisingly sharp and has extremely silent and blazing fast auto focus, but I don't think it's worth getting it... I think I would have been much happier with the 24mm, I kinda feel like that's the best first lens on APS-C since the 50mm is all the way at 80mm equivalent so it's a bit too awkward to use as a beginner, an 80mm prime is a really challenging lens to use in my opinion, it's only good for portraits and such, not really a general purpose lens which might be what people might want as their first lens. Sorry for the long comment, I just didn't like your comment on the kit lens, reviews like these made me buy it 5 years ago and I regret it now, should have listened to the people laughing at kit lenses lol
Cool stuff here! Just keep shooting photos and make POV videos. I have idea for new video -- POV BnW style. Change you camera image mode to monochrome and make photo.
Thanks so much! I have a handful of POVs that will be coming next. Ooooo...that is a good idea, I actually haven't tried to monochrome with this camera yet so I'll have to do that, but whether I do that or plan to edit strictly in black and white, that could be fun. I actually have a plan to make a pov where I shoot a roll of black and white film too, a new film stock that I haven't tried yet. More videos coming for sure 😌 I appreciate you watching!
I have a Christian RUclips Channel, and I do outreaches to the Homeless communities, I have been using the T7i on all my journeys and its been a blessing!
Never recommend this camera! You shoot all those film cameras! Canon killed its FD for the eos, making it annoyingly hard to change the lens mounts. Unforgivable sin! 😜
😂 I do have to say I've been incredibly impressed with the 50mm on my AE-1...the fact that it's as old as it is, good as it is, and I only paid $25 for it at a store is insane. Definitely gonna be a healthy mixture of film and digital moving forward on the channel. I have 5 waiting on my shelf to try for a future series!
@@winslow_j FD lenses are dope! So many lenses are basically the same as the newer EF lenses, minus the electronics. But you need big viewfinders in your camera for focusing! My A1 viewfinder with split prism is so amazing, maybe the same as the AE-1? so I had such a hard time using the cheaper DSLR cameras with adapted lenses, until I got a Fuji X-T1, which was glorious, although cropped sensor, but still awesome. Get those videos going!!!

Thanks this is a great video :) made me feel a lot more confident in my camera and less pressure to upgrade
I’m glad to hear that 😌🙏🏻 it truly is how we use the gear we already have that makes all the difference. Thanks for watching!
Great video!
I like your production work!
Good content. Chill vibe.
Very enjoyable.
Aghh this means a lot, thank you George!! Couldn’t have filmed this one the way I wanted without the help of my friend. Thanks for watching 😄
Awesome job on this video! You are really finding your own style. Keep it up!
Thanks so much Mike! Really appreciate that 🙏🏻
Whats the difference between t7i and rebel t7/2000d?
Classy video. Nicely done
T7 and 50mm 1.8 prime is my fav combo! Great shots 🙌
Agh it's so good!! The 50mm has been my lens of choice lately as well. Thanks so much
@@winslow_j what setting do u use the most?
@@alexSpunkt. I have to say shutter priority! It gives a lot of freedom with street photography because even when the lighting changes, you don't have to worry about your shutter speed slowing down and potentially ruining the shot. It's been a game changer for me.
The 50mm is a must for everyone who gets that camera. I have the 50, 24, and the 55-250. The 24 is the widest, but it's not my favorite lens. I shoot mostly with my 50 and my zoom in my t8i
The 50mm is incredible...especially for how affordable it is. I honestly should use it more myself, but I've stuck with the 85 and the 135mm for so long
@@winslow_j I don't have that kind of money to get that kind of lenses yet
I have the lower-end T7 and for stills it's an amazing camera, just wish Canon didn't lock the tilt screen behind the i because I had the T1i and they were fixed in 2008 just like the T1 so my thought process on buying an i again wouldn't get me much more.
Great video! I was considering this against Sl2 and Sl3. I don't need 4k and Sl3's quality is the same as Sl2 and T7i. And T7i is better than Sl2.
Hey ✋️ great video, thanks a lot. It would be super if you make a video about how you edit your photos?
I am using the same camera for Almost 5-6 years now. Lenses I have used i own (18-55 , 55-250, 100-400mm IS 1, 85mm f1.8) my very first camera. I still love it. Many a time I thought of upgrading camera and always reverted back. Can you let me know if we have any issues with sigma wide lenses. Like 24mm , 30mm either art or contemporary. Any autofocus or image quality issues?
Love your videos! Big fan
Thanks so much! I appreciate you being here 😌🙏🏻
I have a t6 but i want a camera that has a flip out camera. Was debating getting a t7i or Mirrorless R50. I think imma get the t7i
I started out about 3 months ago with a sony nex 3 i bought a nex 6 for the evf. Over all i spent 700 for both bodies and 3 lenses
Really good video mate👍🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great job keep the videos coming bro
Appreciate it man! thanks so much
Does it do good studio shoots with backdrops etc?
Your should do more video's this is excellent better then the pros
Agh this means a lot, thanks so much 🙏🏻
Looks like providence to me. 👍🏻
Sure is!!
I currently use the Nikon D5500 for my street photography and portraits
Nice!! They seem very comparable to the T7i. The best camera to learn on is whatever one we have
@@winslow_j Yes both camera's are the equivalent of one another for there respective companies
Beeen using this camera for about 4 years and I still don’t know if I should “upgrade”
@@eclipseshadowyt5917 still using it to this day since making this video! Haha totally up to you and what you’re looking for/what your reasons for upgrading would be 🙏🏻
Where is AF Servo located? Thanks!!
I shot with my first camera
Canon T7i between 2018-2022 before switching to mirrorless Canon R6.
That’s awesome man! How has the switch been for you? Did you notice a big difference?
What software on your computer would you use to edit photos
I use Adobe Lightroom!
Can this camera use aa 256gb or 512 gb card with no issues for video recording?
Thank you so much I really appreciate the reply I have just ordered the 50mm second hand and i also got the 18-135mm lense I can’t wait to try it out
@@shaunareville1261 Amazing!!
Thanks a lot bro! lot info but very good info =). Im just in 0% but this camera still good to begin. Videos in HD its good and want to do both. 😎
Is this the EOS 800D
Until 4 years after buying, I discovered one fatal error of Canon 800D. When using AV mode, its menu has NOT the Minimum shutter speed function
So it often let the shutter speed ho too low, for ex, 1/ 12, when I using 50mm lense
All photos go blurred.
Canon enginers have severe mistake . In Canon R. Its menu has the function" minimum shutter speed" , so all photos taken in Av mode are ok
I think Canon must get a new firmware for Canon 800d , as soon as possible.
What wide angle lens would u recommend for the t7? Thinking landscape, thanks
@@winslow_j great one! Watched it before
@@alexSpunkt.
I can't believe I left that out haha
keep goin and ull grow big
Really appreciate this, thank you!!
Enjoyed the video
Thank you!!
Very good videos
❤️❤️
good stuff
Appreciate it!
I have a Christian RUclips Channel, and I do outreaches to the Homeless communities, I have been using the T7i on all my journeys and its been a blessing!
Great Video👍🔔✨
Thanks so much! 😄🙏
What a sweet sweet man
Never recommend this camera!
