Doug and Lynne are the best. I cry each time I listen to Doug tell of Bart's passing.
I miss Bart. Such a powerful gentle soul. He made a mark on me.
He was a Goooawd Booi
We need a lot more Doug Seuses in this world.
A MILLION MORE
TRUTH!!
Absolutely!!!❤❤❤❤
We need to shoot trophy hunters
ABSOLUTELY!!!!
Darn, I didn’t even know Bart was no longer alive. Will miss him in movies.
takes special people to be trusted that way... thank you special people
Love ya Doug and Bart ❣
For the longest time I thought Bart had no teeth. Then the Internet came out and I could examine pictures of him. He does have teeth including three-inch canines. I was relieved. A lot of bear trainers have the canines removed. I am happy Bart was left un-mutilated.
@hans wurst The bear is one he trains for movies. So, while he's not a circus pet, he's also more than just a "friend", if you can even apply that word to bears. Bears have the capacity for tolerance and even affection, sure, but it's important to not to give them human traits. That's what gets people in trouble. Remember the power you're dealing with always.
@hans wurst But Doug is also a bear trainer.
This world needs more people like him
We used to have more, but they strangely all were eaten by bears >_>
I can never get enough of the video with Doug Seus and Bart, as well as his other subsequent adoptive bears. You just don't see this type of mutual respect between two species.
One year later, I'm watching this video again and still love it beyond words.
@@bodyshott65 Watch it again.
DetroitToTX65 Among trainers, you are right. But there are some videos of wildlife sanctuaries who have owners and workers who do as Doug does-have personal contact with the bears.
Bart ate Doug in 2008.
@@bodyshott65 Howabout seeing wild Kodiak bears here in Alaska, not in captivity???😳😳😳
Such a beautiful animal!!
MelodyOfMars that is absolutely true! 😃
This world needs more great people like him, god bless you my brother
Bart the bear was so brilliant in the film The edge! He was outstanding in that role as a real wild bear who was so smart!
He was so convincing in that role and I think a wild bear wouldn't have done better than Bart! R.I.P big Gentle bear who was brilliant in the edge!
Did you see him in the French film ‘The Bear’?
I’m highly discerning in what I watch and it was PHENOMENAL!
Highly recommended!

@@katherinea.williams3044 I saw the Bear film and he was great in.it. such a gentle bear and I loved how he performed In the film the edge! Bart was so convicing as a wild bear a man killer.
In the bear film he was gentle and it was great seeing Bart. It's sad Bart lost his mother to these evil people who just kill bears.
Bless Alaska Fish & Game for realizing there was a least one orphaned cub out there and conducting a diligent search to find them. Little Bart and his sister Bump at five months of age would’ve never survived.
Thank goodness they didn’t call the ‘Grizzly People’ organization- Tim Treadwell’s platform of choice.
But they knew he was off his rocker already.
But I’m sorry he and Aime died the way they did.
That’s got to be one of the worst ways to go.

doug and lynne are awesome people!! They truly understand wild life!! God bless them
My GOD...Doug is MAGICAL w/Bart 1, Bart 2, Tank, Honey Bump...he is amazing!!
This beautiful creature died of cancer at the age of 22. Rest in peace, Bart. Thank you, Doug Seus, for sparing the life of the little orphan, and facilitating his career as an international movie star.
This isn't the original Bart who died of cancer. This is Little Bart. He is still alive.
@@mylittlebuckaroo Was he the bear who starred in the movie the bear.. The movie when the hunters were after this massive bear but had a change of heart and decided not to shoot him.
That was original bart that had passed away back in 2000 and he was actually 23 Years Old when he had passed away
@@QueensNativeNYC Yes, Bart played the grown male Grizzly in the French film ‘The Bear’.
It’s their natural instincts to eat cubs, so it’s amazing how he fought it and was able to perform with the young cub.
And it was funny when he was tripping, due to Hallucinogenics and quite sad when he made noises when he was lost or scared; everyone I’ve ever spoken to has always mentioned the noises the young cub made.
I guess it’s akin to hearing a young child.
R.I.P. Bart
You’ll never die.

There is my baby boy Bart. This bear started my love and passion for these magnificent animals. I'd have loved to of met him. Thank you Doug for your help. Rip my baby.
Just shows what love and respect between species can do.
Bart is a gorgeous Grizzly..He looks so fluffy..
I have a great amount of respect for what Doug does. Truly a lover of animals. Very cool....
Doug has a life experience PhD in the field of bears. I have the utmost respect for Doug and his wife and their dedication to these animals and educating the public.
Forever Missed Bart you were ever amazing in all your parts I watched since I was a kid.

This is wonderful to see, a man and a bear get so along, and you can sense love between them.
Just incredible....really makes you realize the profound connection between man and animal
cried my eyes out when i first time heard the story...
Bart was superb and an inspiration to everyone to take care of the bears
I miss Bart Doug Sue's your the best thank you for sharing Bart with us ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Doug and Bart....truly AMAZING !
Doug Seus is a Yona, just like the Yona he and wife have loved, cared for, natured and raised, inspirational people, Granfather's light and love to surround and bless them, always.
Bart is a really good actor. I love his movies.
it's awesome how incredibly huge and clever that animals are
Please can we see more videos featuring these beautiful bears with Doug
sooooooooo amaaaaaazing to see this big bear be a cuddle bum... lovable big bear...
2:37 hahahah whooooooooa!!! fallingggggggg.
many of you probably won’t believe this but the person who owns the wildlife sanctuary that Bart is living in is my third cousin!
Hi Doug, great video.
When they filmed The Edge, Alec Baldwin actually thought the film wouldn't work because of how docile Bart was. He claimed it was really the film's editor that wound up making him look scary, because Bart was just too nice. (And apparently Bart loved Anthony Hopkins)
Bart the bear is the bear that starred in the edge with Anthony Hopkins one of my favorite top movies
I miss that bear. God bless.
What’s crazy is that this was an INTERIOR GRIZZLY which are considered “smaller.” To think a Kodaik bear or coastal grizzly is much bigger is simply amazing. Truly remarkable specimens.
That was incredible
FANTASTIC
Great acting in the edge
What a lovely bear! ❤🍻✌
Lovely connection, but I still can't unsee the cages in the back.
I hear you but just think about the fact that Bart was born in captivity. It's all he knew. The Zues family would take the bears into the wilderness and let them run and play and they always came back to the trailers on their own. He even took them to the ice cream place for 5 or 6 ice cream cones. I have so much respect for the Zues and what we can learn from them and the bears.
+Auster Anemoi it's not ideal for a bear to live in captivity but if you have to be in captivity cause some jerk killed your mom when you were a baby, this is a pretty good arrangement. I also don't think they spend that much time in the enclosures.
So sweet cute too
BART!WHAT A GOO GOO BEAR❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was at the zoo in front of the exhibit for Grizzlies and didn't realize that the bear was down in a pit about ten feet away in the enclosure. When he climbed up out of the pit into view the hairs on my arm and head stood up, and he wasn't even facing me. I know zoos are not the best environment for wild animals, but I feel that the experience of seeing the animals greatly increases the amount of money that is donated to animal causes and the general wish to protect animals in general.
The bear in this video is Little Bart, who is still living. This is not the original Bart, who died of cancer.
real live teddy bear, love that bear
Remembering God created all the animals before man, I'm thankful we can see or interact with this amount of friendship thats still in this world... 🎄
so powerful
Bart The Superstar !!!
When see this video all I can think of is Tim Tredwell.
RIP Bart
Having the opportunity to Have a close friendship with such A beautiful grizzy is
The stuff of dreams . I’d love to be close to one

Fascinating, i want a bear
he is so Beautiful, now he roaming the fields in Heaven look for strawberries and honey!! Miss you a lot big boy!!!
wish my teddy bear was like that when i was younger
awwwww
I love bears
😊❤️
It's pretty cool you and Bart are good friends he is Hudge
I wonder if they would be able to train a polar bear? Bart was probably as big as most polar bears but polar bears being strictly carnivorous would that make a difference?
He is talking about Bart 2 & Honey Bun. The original Bart was born in a Maryland Zoo.
That' s what I thought, because the original Bart was Kodiak and topped out at 1,500 lbs and 10 ft tall when on hind legs (a little bigger than this one).
Always cracks me up , people with no Kodiak bears, real wilderness down south trying to talk about brown bears, Alaska! Hilarious!😳🤪🤣
I wonder if they gave bart Meds to live. They did a procedure to remove the lump right???? Bart and Man are Legend.
still wondering if this was the same bear of the famous movie "grizzly l'orso che uccide" and if it was a kodiak or a grizzly bear. In both cases, I do LOVE it
no that was Bart, this is little Bart. The original Bart was a kodiak bear and little bart is a grizzly
I was just gonna ask that this is little bart right? yea I had heard Bart was a kodiak
Famous movie in eskimo language?
I saw 2 cubs at the Alaska Zoo in 1988....were they THOSE cubs?
RIP Bart the 🐻
Beautiful creature!
Clicker training for grizzlies!! Lol
What if Doug passed away?
How old is he?
I’m just curious... was Bart (or any of your bears) neutered/spayed? I know it keeps dogs more calm and takes that “drive” away or should I say, frustration for females
0:42 paint me like one of you french girls
November 25, 2021 Bart passed away from natural causes at his home in Utah.
Glad I actually see “ wild coastal Alaskan brown bears”, daily over the years on Kodiak, Katmai, admiralty, chichigof and baranof islands! Awesome animals! Most you down south have no clue about Kodiak bears , true wilderness, Alaska. Simple!😳🤪
Poachers and bad hunters should not just have a possible fine and/or a little jail time. They should face an enormous lifetime fine and many many years of jail time. The park service is so wrong for euthanizing motherless cubs. They should have their own facilities to care for such bears since they know this will happen. Doug and those he works with really proved they have known what they are doing with they successfully raised two cubs who had already been with their mother and had more of the "wildness" in them that Bart 1 did.
whoever shot his mother....i just issued a serious curse upon that evil person.
They aren’t social distancing
1140 pounds...
2:40 "....almost as big as the coastal Brown Bears". Well, I would like to see the largest wild alive today. Must be extreme. Just a shame the hunters go after the large males all the time. Should let them be alive and see how large they can be. Read the record was 2400 pounds.
Dont know of this is actually "Bart the Bear" or his smaller brother.
But Bart the Bear weighed around 1500 pounds in his prime.
No, this isn't the original Bart. Bart was a Kodiak, this is a grizzly.
Animale bellissimo,,,,,,non lo stuzzicate,,,,,
Chuck Norris could send this bear outside the Moon.
Lil teddy bear
How anybody can see a mother bear, or just a mother animal in general, and shoot her in cold blood and leave her cubs to die? I get it not everybody likes bears, but they’re still a huge part of the wild. I’m an active bear lover and one day hopefully can help protect them.
This bear is huge half ton 500kg. Any bear over 1000 lbs is. Original Bart was 1500lbs thats a bear
Can you imagine a guy is going around out there shooting female bears with cubs and leaving the cubs orphaned and doomed out in the wilderness, so he can sell the parts of the mother to who else- Chinese-. And supposedly the man is released from prison in less than five years to resume his evil. Man should be forced to work off the full value of the money he gained killing the adult bear, and then exiled to live in a city somewhere in the lower 48, never to return to any wilderness are on pain of life imprisonment.
How do you "own" a Bear? Just finished watching "The Edge" and in the credits I see, "Bart the Bear, Owned and Trained by Doug Seus, Wasatch Rocky Mountain Wildlife." They really should reconsider how he is credited. "Keeper", "Guardian"...something other than "Owner" as you can't "own" a life or what nature intended to be wild and free.
Hussh Ryzen Whatever hippie
+Hussh Ryzen Why not shove your stupid left-wing political correctness up your hate-filled ass.
Nothing cant be intended to be free if we can capture it. Its called being the dominate species.
Hussh Ryzen
It has important legal ramifications, actually. If somebody broke in and took the bear, it would be theft; if Bart damaged something, Doug would be liable. There are good reasons for the structure of animal ownership.
Lolong the crocodile was Bart the bear who will win
😳 🐻 😱
huuuuuuuuge !
