  • THE EDGE Clip - "Bear Chase" (1997) Anthony Hopkins
PLOT: The plane carrying wealthy Charles Morse (Anthony Hopkins) crashes down in the Alaskan wilderness. Together with the two other passengers, photographer Robert Green (Alec Baldwin) and assistant Stephen (Harold Perrineau), Charles devises a plan to help them reach civilization. However, his biggest obstacle might not be the elements, or even the Kodiak bear stalking them -- it could be Robert, whom Charles has reason to believe is having an affair with his wife and would not mind seeing him dead.
Release date: September 26, 1997 (USA)
    Director: Lee Tamahori
    Screenplay: David Mamet
CAST: Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin

My dad said that my grandpa would be screaming at the TV whenever the bear was on screen, He would say things “turn this way!” Or “if I would have been there I would have jabbed the bear and I would have killed him”😄. This movie has become a classic for my dad, my siblings and me. We remember 90% of the quotes from the movie. I will never forget the joy this movie brought me.

Good film though like other land mammals that will eat you bears don't roar at you as they just come in and maul , bite and eat.
You are no challenge or anything other than food or a threat to young

Depends on the dryness of the woods floor. Sans 5-10 days of rain, in pine forests the pine sap in the needles on the ground etc are accelerants for fires and burn like oil.

@@carlitos2012ace somewhere around 5 out of 10. And that rating is awful, the trash what they are making nowadays still get better reviews than The Edge. Or we can just talk about any masterpiece that was created with great attention and love, and to be immortal. They all get much worse ratings than they deserve

I hope everyone here has also seen Bart starring in The Bear. Most adult male bears tend to be a threat to cubs (hence why mother bears instinctively have very protective reputations!), but there is a cub in The Bear and their relationship was amazing and incredible.

    • @marb4167

Doug Seus, the trainer, prepared Bart to be gentle with the cubs in that movie by using a teddy bear. It was cute seeing Bart practice with a stuff toy.
