- In todays video we're going to go celebrate a few guitar heroes of the 1980's. Different Metal and Hard Rock guitarists that helped shape the 80's with their sometimes flashy guitar play. Everyone from Dave Meniketti, Wolf Hoffmann, Reb Beach, Carlos Cavazo, Aldo Nova, Michael Weikath, Kai Hansen, Lars Johansson and the Rambo look-alike Kane Roberts. Enjoy!

Glad to see KAT and Carlos Cavazo, oft overlooked! Carlos has gotten BETTER over the years, did THE most insane left-only hammer-ons I've ever seen, I couldn't believe my eyes or ears. And KAT redefines insanity, period.

The only guitarist on this list i've seen live is Rocky George (ex-Suicidal Tendencies) in 1987 during the "Join The Army" tour. He was spectacular. He plays with the Cro-Mags now so you can still catch him live.

I saw Kane Roberts with Alice Cooper in Stockholm (it was off the Raise Your Fist and Yell tour so probably 1989). It was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Alice killed some girl with a bike or something. And us kids in the front rows were soaked in "blood". Good times! Then they decapitated poor old Alice. I think that show is somewhere on youtube. Good memories!

Suicidal tendencies gave thrash metal a crossover way before Metallica and megadeth made their best albums. Rocky George deserves to be here. Wolf Hoffman and Accept are legendary dude. too bad UDO went on his own. i dont listen to his solo stuff. i love Accept more 🤘. Dave menikketti and Aldo nova deserved props even though they're not thrash or death metal

I wanted to ask you a thing: in a band with one lead guitarist, two rhythm guitarists, a bassist and drummer, who do you think would be doom, speed, thrash, black and death metal with which equipment and what kind of vocals (the bassist uses his fingers, the drummer plays using the snare-ride cymbal and hi hat foot technique and all five are the lead vocalists)
